The WiFi, strong signal and high float love the high level of access to overseas websites GREAT The bed The pillow The powerful shower The high quality toilet supplies - The weak toilet flush The lighting - too sharp, cant creat a cosy ambient feel, should have some lights with dimmer control Business centre staff were polite but not adequately train for useful assistance to business travellers Ventilation of toilet not adequate, towels remain moist Speaker in toilet not working ... ....still I would highly recommend China Hotel, Guangzhou, its facilities might be slightly out dated, but it is far from being out classed, .it is still a high class luxury hotel.

Had an EXCELLENT stay at China Hotel. It may be not as ostentatious and grandiose in its lobby design as the Garden Hotel but the suite makes up for it! I travelled with my colleagues for the Canton Fair. We checked-in late in the evening (9.30pm) but managed to make it before the kitchen closes at the restaurant around the corner from the luggage hold desk (kitchen closes 10.30pm). There is also comveniently a Starbucks located at Lobby floor as well as retail shops. We found the suites was very spacious. Super clean, well designed (modern, minimal with slight Chinese influence). There was a decent sized study area, lounge with tv, walk-in wardrobe, large bathroom, two separate toilets, shower, very comfortable bath tub, spacious bedroom (also with another flatscreen tv), etc. Well stocked in all that you need and perhaps more (room slippers, bath robes, soaps, bath salts, hair dryer, weighing scale, fresh fruit, bottled water, tea and coffee displayed in a classy glass display, etc.) and tastefully furnished. The concierge and reception are fast, polite, courteous and responsive. The breakfast spread was impressive- Chinese, Japanese, Western, etc. spread across a vast restaurant space that one had to literally do a walk-about to explore what was on offer with an efficient check-in service of just scanning your room card. The only fault was the lobby has this smell of perfume and stale wet laundry. Besides that, I would recommend it as an option to stay.

One of the most luxury and premium hotel in Guangzhou. The hotel was once the most sought after hotels for local and international guests. They also have service apartments called LN Residence for long term guests. The location is perfect right above a metro station. The hotel also has lot of shops and restaurants within its premises.

Filthy Place. I've stayed here for a week on two occasions, both times booked by my travel agency. First Visit we were shown to a non-smoking room that reeked of smoke, at 10 pm in the evening. I trotted down to the very busy lobby, loaded with flight crews from many airlines, and waited for the single desk clerk to help relocate my family. Second room was ok. Second visit we were given a room (see photos) that was terribly dusty, had broken/chipped furniture, a bathroom door that doesn't close/lock and a broken bathroom window shade. We asked for a different room and where offered the one our friends had vacated due to the non functioning toilet. The one the staff knew wasn't fit to be occupied. The second room we were offered smelled of smoke and was quite dirty as well. So we kept the first room under the condition the items would be addressed. I took these photos after all the items had "been addressed" by the hotel staff. The bathroom door can't be fixed, because that would require new hardware. The bashed in shade can't be fixed because that would require taking off part of the wall panel. The room wasn't dusted during our week long stay. No discount, apology or intent to accommodate us was made by the staff. Now onto the positive part of the review. The kitchen/wait staff are phenomenal. The breakfast service is quick and efficient, the food variety is fantastic and of good quality both the western options and the local options. There is abundant fresh fruit, chilled milk, yogurt, various cereals, freshly squeezed fruit juices, bacon, omelette station, decent pastries for the Westerners to choose from. The location was also quite good, Subway is very close, food options are great for western folk (McDonalds, Burger King and 7-11). Though a bit further Local food can be found as well, I highly recommend a "Muslim" restaurant around the back of the Hotel.

My most preferred hotel to stay whenever I'm in Guangzhou, China. Excellent location where every local knows the hotel (中国大酒店). It's very convenient to the Yuexiu Park subway station(越秀公园站) as it's literally right in front of it by Starbucks coffee. Rooms may be a little more traditional, but it has always been clean and very well maintained. Great breakfast buffet, and happy hours in the evenings at the executive lounge. Prices are very reasonable compared to other Marriott offerings in Guangzhou, and I always get upgraded to a nice suite being a Premier Elite Plus Marriott member. I believe this property will no longer be a Marriott property anymore going into 2019, so make your stay here if you're in the area.

This hotel is subpar compared to most Marriott Worldwide hotels. While the staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are dated and small. The lobby is in good shape, but one you get to the rooms, they look pretty old and dated. At least they're clean.

I've stayed at a lot of Marriott properties and for being a "5 star" location, it feels very much like a high end motel. Staff don't read reservation notes, mobile check in means nothing as your room won't be ready when you actually arrive, it's a 50/50 chance the housekeeping request will actually be completed. We are gold members and while eating in the lounge we literally nearly had a plate of food that we were eating off of removed from the table because "breakfast hours were over". Additionally, the evening food isn't as wide ranging as other Marriotts I've stayed at and it's not very plentiful. Also, there aren't enough towels/bottles of water in the room for the number of registered guests. This is the only Marriott property in China that has told me I could only have 4 bottles of water a day. Etc, etc, etc. Also, this hotel supposedly focuses on families with Children, but they don't have the proper sleeping bedding for cribs (we received a pack and play for our 16 month old that had a rolled up bath towel for a pillow and a folded bath towel for a blanket) and has super old and dirty high chairs. Overall, if I was coming back to Guangzhou, I would stay at one of the other Marriott's in the area and skip the China hotel.

I know it’s a 5-star hotel but it’s been a long time, so I expected it to be old. No matter what, if it’s a 5-star hotel, it should always provide 5-star services. I read through the hotel website and assumed that the services would be great since the leadership team claims that they are experienced in the hotel business. The other reason I chose to stay here was the price. It’s affordable. I am totally disappointed! Yes, there is free parking, but each time before you leave the parking garage, you must notify the front desk, otherwise, you will be charged. What an inconvenient service! The guy, Dickinson? told us that we would receive 25% off when we eat in the restaurants in the hotel and charge to the room. The fact is there is only 15% off. I don’t care how much discount we can have, but providing customers with incorrect information is a poor service! When we asked the stuff in the restaurant (Food Street), they had to ask a few people to get an answer. We waited for a long time to finally get our food (3 simple dishes). I noticed other people also had to wait for a long time. The food was ok. Not 5-star grade. The restaurant that provides morning buffet was chaotic. Waitress didn’t observe which table was available. I went there by myself one morning. After I got food and went back to the table, one waitress was cleaning up the table and one guy already put his food on the table. I told her that I didn’t show any sign that I had finished. She didn’t understand what I said, not even simple English. The room was ok, not the traditional Chinese decoration I expected. The shampoo, hair conditioner, and body wash were cheap quality. I purchased them outside the hotel. The shower was flooded when it’s in use. If you just want a place to shower and sleep, this hotel is ok. Do not use any services to avoid high blood pressure.

Stayed at this hotel most of the time when in Guangzhou. At the start the hotel was an example of luxury at an affordable price, however over the years it has aged and little no maintenance seems to get done. The last time I stayed, early 2019, the taps in my bathroom were broken and the shower head was not working correctly. The restaurant in the hotel complex, (not the hotel restarant itself) had been closed and other shops seemed run down. Overall a good update would probably restore it to its former self.

So impressed with this hotel! Despite the fact that I been to many hotels in china before so didn’t expect much ... But this hotel has to be the best hotel in China I been, we booked 2 rooms for 3 ppl for 3 nights so here are our great memories: * on our first night -> one of our rooms is directly facing the lifts so we didn’t want to be disturbed so we asked to change the room.. we made a request over the phone and although we know the rooms were quite full (as Canton fair was in few days time) after few mins they sent up a staff with 2 keycards to new rooms even though we were already made so much mess in one of the rooms already... but they realized we would prefer to be on the same floor so they intended for us both to move ... in the end we didn’t move as we already unpack and made so much mess and felt sorry for the maid * location is simply amazing -> Starbucks, BurgerKings and restaurants are literally on the ground floor of the hotel and metro station is at its door step with 7/11 and other fast foods resto..... across the street is an gigantic park (YueXie park) so I took morning jog and come back for soup noodles and coffee and Starbucks! A life I wanted reli lol * hotel facilities -> although the hotel has been operating for some times but all he facilities are nicely maintained and in good shape... fitness is big, pool is nice, bar by the pool, there’s a private park on 4TH floor with a tennis and basketball court! * on our last day -> my bro has been sick since day one so he stayed at the hotels 4days straight due to high fever... and our flight was late so only had to leave for the hotel at 6pm .... we requested for late check out and they only gave to 2pm at first as those who’s coming for Canton Fair would be checking in that day .... but we explained them that my bro needed to rest in the room till 6pm so she consulted with her manager and 10mins later she called back that the manager ok for us to stay without any upcharge!!! So well impressed! * the only drawback I found was the ‘deposit’ they took from my credit card -> it was so much! 8,000 rmb to be exact ... and when we check out apparently they took only room charges out of that deposit and the rest will be returned ... but there was no refund or void bills I could keep my ref ... so will only need to double check when my credit card bills was sent to my house didn’t want to be a fuss and had impression so took my chances and trusted the staff Anyhow great experience overall though!! Would like to compliments all the staff and management team! Well done!! Definitely a high standard of service ... will be surely come back to this hotel again in our next visit

👍👍 We had a really nice room! Our room had a great view of the city. Very spacious and clean. The hotel is a nice hotel, right by the river. One bummer was that the girl at the front desk was sick and was still working and wiping her germs on the items that we had to touch.
