Super cute place for a coffee and a tea. We did not stay at the hostel nor did we eat here. But it was super clean, and we would definitely come back.

Where shall I start, I guess with coffee shop itself, since my encounter happened from here. Lovely place, nice ambiance and such friendly staff. I spend my afternoon working from here. Later I got to know there’s a hostel upstairs. I went and checked the rooms and decided to relocate for the weekend from my Airbnb. Long story short I’ve stayed the whole week till my departure. As for the people I’ve met there it’s another story. I felt so welcomed, comfortable and cozy. It’s like home away from home. I have to give special credits to Naim, who made my stay unforgettable. Won’t spoil any further, just will mention #follownaim 😁

11 out of 5 stars. I saw a review that someone cancelled her hotel booking after this hostel. I understand why. I booked 1 night, stayed for ~1 week. Dorm rooms were better, than individual room. beds are spacious, Enough space to sit on a bed with a straight back. BATHROOMS ARE CLEAN!! Like REALLY CLEAN! 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets(with a sink) on every floor+1 room with 2 sinks. Sheets and towels are clean too. You can wash your clothes for additional price. They have clothes softeners and use clothes drying machine after washing machine. thick curtains on every bed, wide enough stairs (separate from a bottom bed) for access to second floor beds. They give you lockers for keeping your bags safe. People are adequate and understanding. Top Location. No noisy bars/cafes nearby.

A really nice hostel with friendly staff and spacious rooms! I've taken away one star because of my bunk bed which is the ONLY bed (bed #3) in the room that doesn't have full privacy because the entrance is not covered (see picture), so my privacy is dependent on whether the person on the bed in front decides to fully cover the curtain. Moreover, the power outlet was located at the entrance near my feet instead of my head. However, it's great if you got to stay on the other beds as there really is full privacy with thick curtains and individual power outlet and light!! It would be a full 5 stars if a curtain was also available for the entrance to the bed! Another annoying point is that the toilet lights operates by sensor so if the light above the sink isn't working, you would be using the toilet in darkness if you can't find the sensor (the lights turn off automatically after about 10 seconds). Location is great! The hostel is within walking distance from taksim square, Galata and İstiklal Street. Also close to a tram station and bus stop. However, it is located at the end of a hill so if you have any heavy baggage, it would be better to take the tram and then funicular up. Also, it seems like the cafe offers free pasta dinner on Fridays!

I really enjoyed my stay here! I stayed here twice in mid-October (each time for one day only). The hostel was really clean and the reception staff was always super friendly. The 4-bed female dorm was very spacious and l loved how each bed had a privacy curtain, lamp, and an electric outlet. The coffee shop is used as the common space, so there's not a social hostel vibe, but it's a nice place to hang out for a little while you plan out your day. The location is close to lots of restaurants and close to the train station and a short walk to the ferry station. I would definitely stay again the next time I'm in Istanbul.

We visited this coffee shop after the great reviews and it was such a disappointment. We ordered one turkish coffee, one salep and two sandwiches and asked if they can toast them and they said we can heat them up. They brought one sandwich which was a disaster because they put it in the microwave and after our comment they brought us new ones. They never brought us the turkish coffee while we were waiting for over 20 minutes. The waiter that took our order sent another waiter who didn't speak English. They told us that they didn't have turkish coffee (!!!) so we ordered a cappuccino, which was also bad. When we asked for the bill, they brought a torn paper with the amount written on it. The worst service and experience we had in Istanbul by far.

OMG, 100 out of 5 stars. Amazed and mesmerized by this place. The location with all the designs...it s something magical. The staff ...also.... perfect.... the coffee....and the San Sebastian cake...you must try it. Also a cat stayed with us at the table on her own chair the entire time we spent there. I recommend with all my heart. If you don't want to eat, just go for a coffee, for a dessert...for something. Anything.

This place became my home. If you’re looking for a place to stay it’s the best option. People who work here are the most kind and warm-hearted people who are always ready to help you. The hostel is located in a very nice area, not far away from the ferry and tram station, also many nice shops and restaurants around, really quick way to Istiklal street (the main touristic street) The rooms are very clean and spacious, it’s quiet at night, the beds are comfortable and you have all of what you need like lockers and place for your luggage. They have a coffee shop on the first floor with amazing coffee and very tasty cakes and sandwiches for affordable price. It’s really cozy to sit there and it’s also the area where you can meet and chat with other people who stay in the hostel. I love this place with all my heart and defiantly will stay again every time I’m in Istanbul. Highly recommend! ❤️

We were at the Archeo with 15 people and had a fantastic time! The staff is super nice and helpful. Especially Okan organised everything for us and took us to places we would never have seen otherwise. Thank you Okan for the incredibly great organisation and the always friendly way! If you want to have a good time in Istanbul, the Archeo and Okan are definitely an excellent address! Six out of five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Now it’s my turn to say something about Archeo. I stayed there 3 times. Every time Archeo is getting better and better because of caring people working there, especially Okan, Naim and Havva ❤️. They help you to solve any problems, show you the city and you just can have fun with them! There’re 2 types of rooms in Archeo: dormitory and private rooms. Dormitory rooms has lockers , a shoe shelf and bunk beds with individual curtains, light and sockets, so you can have privacy there. Also there’s a nice cafe downstairs, where you can have coffee and dessert, or work with ur laptop. If you’re thinking whether to stay there or not - just stay! You will never regret, ‘cause it’s a nice place where you will find friends from all around the world. Archeo is home. Archeo is family. With love, Kate

    1. Amazing staff: welcoming, diligent, humble, helpful. Every person in Archeo team is a good human being. Learnt names of almost all teammates during my long stay: Anvar, Bora, Aziz, Mariam, Zeynep. 2. Good atmosphere & vibe. 3. It feels as being in an art museum inside: paintings & pieces of art are everywhere. The collection is selected with taste. 4. They organize smth almost every day: free breakfast / dinner, fruits, events, etc. 5. There is a coffee shop & coworking space on the ground floor in Archeo, where I worked with laptop.

Very nice staff here! First of all the girl at the reception helped me carried my suitcase upstairs. And during my stay I had been asking them questions about restaurants, attractions and transport, the staff all answered my questions very patiently. And all of them can speak fluent English, which is kind of rare in Turkey, and there’s no communication barriers. Also, I enjoyed the coffee too. At the hostel, they also have good shower room, very nice curtain to protect your privacy. Good experience, thank you.

Very unfriendly to tourists cafe. The waitress went away when saw visitors. Then said wc was downstairs so that they had to look for it and feel stupid (the only wc turned out to be upstairs).

Everything was perfect in my opinion the best hostel in all of Istanbul. Special mention for the really nice men and women's receptionists. thank you for all

I came for a quick tea and slice of cheesecake. It was very tasty and affordable. I loved the decor and appreciated the tremendous service. The guy at the front was very helpful with giving advice about what was around. I did not stay in the hotel but if their service is as the cafe, I would expect it to be stellar!

The place is nice and well located. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and tidy and well equipped (sockets, lockers and so on). The staff and the owner are incredibly nice and available, for example they helped a lot with a bus ticket. They have a nice cafe that serves tasty cakes.

Great little and cozy hotel, ideally located in central Istanbul. Staff is very friendly and welcoming and if you just stay for the coffee, it’s also great (tasty coffee + cute cats + nice music not too loud) Definitely recommended for both coffee or a stay here :)

Nice hostel but needs some management improvements. Lovely cafe and comfortable rooms but toilets kept running out of paper, showers were not clean and staff brought a new guest to a full room of sleeping people at 8 o’clock in the morning telling them they could choose a bed at 2pm! Never seen that done in a hostel before.

Superb place, I stayed there for 3 night and 1 night the second time. Lovely & spacious cafe. Very nice, friendly and helpful staff. Location is close to the tram. And dorms are spacious, private and clean. I found my stay very comfortable. The only thing is that it’s on the main road so it might get noisy in the night and the dorms are on top floors, so carrying luggage might get tricky..

Great location, Galataport is near, Taxim, and T1 tram. Staff is ok, I really like those girls working at Archeo cafe cause they were always smiled and cheerful. I stayed there for 10 nights, some things didn't work well like locker, shower with dripping water, dirty windows, there were not so many power outlets in 4 bed dormitory, but we managed somehow. Bottom line is that staff is maybe more occupied with Archeo cafe than with Archeo hostel, but I would certainly return to this facility again.

I stayed in female dorm and it was super clean and comfy. The beds are great and you have enough space and privacy. The cafe downstairs is really good and the staff are friendly:)

Good price, nice location. I booked a bed in female dorm room for 2 nights, spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable with all curtains, head lamp, power sockets, lockers, etc. Shared bathrooms and toilets were very clean. Loved that they put a small diffuser everywhere in this hostel. The cafe was also nice for working space with complimentary cats around you. Friendly staffs. Free pasta dinner on Friday night but I didn’t join, maybe next time:)

I stayed at the hostel and used the Cafe. The Cafe is very nice, the espresso was smooth, and tasted great! Plus there is a cuddly cat and wifi! The hostel was very well equipped. I stayed in a 4-bed female dorm. Clean bathrooms and shower. Plug ins, towels, and locks are provided. Staff was very kind and are available 24/7. Would highly recommend staying here, unless you are looking for more of a party hostel.

Had an amazing stay at archeo. Rooms are good and the location is just perfect. Staff is helpful in every regard. Had quality time and discussions with Ege, Fulyah and Bora. Ege is super helpful in everything. Even helped me get a bus last minute over a call. Would definitely stay again, if im back.

I stayed here twice, bookending my time in Türkiye—it has a great vibe, great staff, cozy beds. Perfect for my solo travel in Istanbul. Highly recommend if you are looking for a social hostel that’s in a lively but more relaxed part of Istanbul

The hostel is nothing special but okay for staying 1-2 nights. We had a room with shared bathroom. The room was clean, the lighting was okayish, and the beds were fairly comfortable. The bathroom was not always that clean and the faucets were faulty.

I stayed for two nights in the dormitory room. The best service I had was they were kind enough to move my luggage during check-in and check-out. The room and the shared toilets are pretty doggy, and have poor facilities and design, compared with other hostels in the same area this was a wrong choice.

I call this place a home away from home. It’s been 2 months since my stay but only until now I have time to write a proper review after 2 months of intense travel. There’s nothing to mention about the room, the cafe, or the hotel itself. Everything was well decorated, clean, and cozy. In one word, perfect. The staff and the management team play an important role in making this the best accommodation I have ever stayed in, considering I have been to countless accommodations in more than 40 countries. Okan, Naim, and the staff are the best people, they spent time going out and showing us around like the real tour guides. We dined, we drank together, and not only us, they do it to all the guests of Archeo. Okan even drove all the way to the airport which is 1 hour away to help me rent a car by giving out his credit card as I didn’t have one, who would do it to a complete stranger? Thanks to that, we were able to experience Turkey in the best way. I still can’t believe a hostel owner would be such attentive and caring to every guest. From now on, Archeo will be the only place I stay whenever I visit Istanbul, not only because of the hostel itself, but also the people who treat their guests like their real friends.

I stayed with my boyfriend at Archeo hostel for four nights. The cafe is cozy and they organize some night activities which seemed nice. The staff is friendly and the location is good! We loved the neighbourhood and it is quite confortable to reach different areas of the city. The bad points: The toilets for common use were often dirty (poop). And unfortunatly our private room was terrible. We couldnt open the window because there was a constant and huge flow of hot air due to a fan outside our window during Istanbul summer days. For this reason we had to keep the AC on all night, but apparently the filters were dirty because we both got sick. Four days passed and we are still sick. Room #10 needs to be fixed. Or closed for ever :D

A great place to stay in Istanbul. The hostel doubles as a cafe with great coffee/tea/snacks. The staff is so kind (especially Bora!) and fun to be around. I found the location to be perfect as it’s right between a lot of different neighborhoods so you have options. Finally (and most importantly for me) the beds are private with really comfortable mattresses. I got great sleep while I was here which is the most important. I especially would recommend Archeo to people who need to do some work while in Istanbul.
