👍👍 This annual dig continues to deliver amazing discoveries. Kevin was a superb guide and managed to answer our questions fully. There are only 2 parking bays, slightly further down the hill, by the memorial to the Opal and Knarborough . This is only suitable for able-bodied as the path around the site...

👍👍 Google maps takes you to the wrong location. Follow the A30 further along and you see a small laybye with a proper gate and path to the stones. A 10 min walk from the A30

Clachtoll Broch
Archaeological site
👍👍 Very well preserved, can still see where the next floor would have gone. We didn't know where it was, ended up wondering around a bit looking over cliffs. So highlighted where the broch is in a photo for others.

👍👍 Incredible Broch right next to Midhowe Cairn! The Broch was built 3,500 years after the Cairn. Really incredible inside as well! Both sites are worth the hike down then up the hill! Parking at the top of the hill for a few cars.

Its one of view places in...

Holnicote Estate
Hiking area
🫤 I must admit I was disappointed in this. The areas included in the Holnicote estate are beautiful for hiking but the house and park itself, although lovely, does not offer much and we turned back to some of the hiking tracks and towns around after a short visit.

Bartlow Hills

👍 Visited Roman burial mounds today. I have lived in East Anglia for 15yrs but only came across the existence of these burial sites today after receiving a Book on Roman Site in UK as a Christmas present. So round up the dogs despite a wet day and arrived at Bartlow Church. Short walk later we came ac...

Wideford Hill Cairn
Archaeological site
👍 This was a neat experience and if you ever wanted to know what it would be like to be buried alive, this is it. It's a beautiful 15 minute walk downhill with a clear hiking trail. When you get there, slide the door open and walk down the ladder. A flashlight is provided in a box if you don't have on...
