Marcela is the best cook at the Romanian seaside. Every dish has a delicious personal twist, the dishes are spectacular and interesting, and the family is lovely and welcoming. Definitely coming back when at the seaside!

Fixed menu everyday. Different menu from Mon to Sun, but not from week to week. A soup or ciorba and a second course. Make sure you book in advance (one day before). The soup might be meatless, but not the case for the second course. I didn't really like the soup of the day, but the stuffed eggplant was very tasty. The location is pleasant as well, but the tables can definitely be cleaner. They don't serve drinks, so bring your own.

A lovely cozy place, serving excellent food at a very decent price. You will be welcomed here by the cutest dog, Ozzy, and by the most wonderful and smiling host. You can tell from the first try that she puts her heart and soul into everything she cooks.

An oasis of proper, good food among mostly fast-food type options at other places in 2 Mai. Cozy setup, welcoming hosts and fast serving round up a beautiful experience, that we did not think could be had after previous experiences in this town.

Brilliant litte family gem. Fixed price menu made of 2 courses (soup and main) and a 1.5L watter bottle. Different menu everyday. Must not miss it. Hope it lasts and keeps the concept/flavours and cozyness :)

We hopped over the border on a day trip from Bulgaria and spotted La Polovnik thanks to the reviews - which we can now echo and endorse. Set menu with simple but delicious food and great friendly atmosphere as if we were all part of an extended Romanian family. Very friendly price too.

One of the best places to eat in 2 mai. Not the variety of a classic restaurant, but the most delicious food money can buy. You have to place the order the day before, and you have to know what you want, but trust me, it’s worth. The backyard in which the restaurant is placed is nicely done, and quiet.

Excellent food and very good service. For the main menu you should order in advance, but they were very helpful and offered us some dishes which were available, will certainly return in future.

Small restaurant (aprox 6 tables of about 6 persons), with daily cooked meals. There si a fixed menu that chabges daily that includes a soup, a main dish and on most occasions a dessert. Most days, you have 2 options for the soups and main dish. It is best if you make a reservation beforehand, but not mandatory. For kids, if you phone ahead, they can cook something special (eg: pasta).

Amazing place with really tasty, authentic Romanian food. The place is family run and it feels like eating in your own yard. Very familiar atmosphere. Make sure you call them a few hours before going there as a reservation is necessary!

No fish, only meat. Menu of the day. Interesting dishes, tasty food, decent size portions. But a bit expensive for a lunch menu from my point of view.
