I went to urgent care in late October of 2022. I was informed that I needed to go to the heart hospital right away by ambulance. It was a Friday, so no surgeries on that day, or Saturday or Sunday. On Monday I got a pacemaker and went home the next day. I have been told by two health care professionals who saw my records that I received Excellent care while I was there, and I have had no issues since. When I have called the Device Clinic with questions I have had very caring and informative professionals answer them. I feel very fortunate to be the recipient of the level of care I have received at Heart Hospital of NM, Lovelace Medical Center. #grateful

If I could go back a few weeks I would of took. My father to different hospital or at very least have had my father choose a different surgeon DR.****** gave us a 98% chance that everything was going to b fine and that myfather would be in recovery by evening that day he is supposed to be the top surgeon in his practice he basically told us he could do this with his eyes closed but he was wrong he failed and my passed away in the care of his hands and changed our lives forever because of this cocktail DR and his Mal practice we no longer have a dad Rip Leonel I don't recommend this heart hospital to anyone going in on a open heart surgery

I recently had a loop recorder implanted and was a bit anxious about all of it. The team of nurses, the PA Brad and the rep from the device company all put my mind at ease. All in all, over time the staff I've encountered at the Heart Hospital have always been professional and welcoming. I highly recommend this facility.

This is a review for the doctors and staff at Lovelace Heart Institute. I'm only alive to write this because of them. In all aspects where it really counts they have come through for me consistently. Patients have to do their part as well. They've educated me on diet and exercise and I've done it. It has not been easy but I couldn't have come back from open heart surgery without them.

They must be paying for good reviews. If they don’t kill you while you’re in their facility they will send you home with such inadequate supports you stand a good chance of decompensating very quickly after discharge. Intensivists were good, cardiologists were good when you saw them and there were some staff we liked but can’t say that was the standard of care and you can’t hang on to them or follow up with them when you leave. Everything is “go to the ER” and you can just forget that - what a joke. And if you go to a different ER you get chastised and reminded that they pretty much own you in the name of continuity of care. But visiting their ER gets you nowhere so you can’t win. If you can—go elsewhere. If you can’t because of insurance, Godspeed.

While a great supporter of Loveless Hospital, I was deeply disappointed with my visit to the Loveless Heart Institute. I found Dr.Stacey Clegg's interaction with me to be listless and uncaring. After asking her twice of the issue my Pulmonologist and his nurse sent me there to investigate and have her not answer either time, I left feeling confused and knowing I need to find another doctor to speak with. At one point I told her I don't like taking medication to which she responded with a snarky tone 'Well, no one likes to take pills.' I was not there to speak for everyone else just myself. She was cold and cavalier. Feeling I was not in a caring environment, I shut down. 'You are better off skipping your appointment with her, staying home and researching Dr. Burg and Dr. Luke Laffin's information on Youtube. You will learn more.

I feel like I'm being required to attend too many appointments just to have my annual prescription renewed, 3 in 3 months. Past years it was a simple one visit and done.

Just had a recent heart surgery performed at the Heart Hospital of NM. I felt that I was is in Very capable and caring hands. This was my second major procedure at this facility. There were no complications and the follow up by each Doctor involved has been thorough and comforting. Thank you All for the good care.

Unfortunately I'm having a very bad experience at this time, not able to reach my doctor and not able to get my pacer results. On April 1 I was told that I've been in atrial flutter for the last 7 months yet I cannot get an appointment to see the doctor to discuss report and determine whether it could be lead noise instead or schedule an ablation. I have left several messages. I have been a patient at NMHI for several years but they still attempt to call me rather than leave a message knowing that I am deaf and cannot take a voice call and they do not leave a voicemail message. I am very frustrated and disappointed at this point.

My mom was rushed to the Lovelace ER on golf course and Ellison Thursday morning. They were so busy and they took such excellent care of her she had to stay in the ER for two days till her bed was ready at the Lovelace heart hospital everyone except for one nurse was awful at this heart hospital. No one did anything they were supposed to and The most laziest people I’ve ever met. Not to mention they told my mother nothing was wrong with her. Ppl in good health don’t just have 2 heart attacks

The nurse on duty(the one with the big, fake eyelashes) treated my elderly mother rudely. I had to ask her to wear gloves!! She was very condescending! My mom had to beg for water and She asked for an extra pillow and never received it. The nurse acted as if it was a huge inconvenience to her I’m guessing because she was busy texting someone. It was all I could do to not get angry because I didn’t want her to take it out on my mom when I left. The care here used to be great but not so much anymore.

My mother went in for a minimally invasive procedure. The surgeon was great and answered all our questions. Pre-op nurses provided excellent care. However, upon moving my mother upstairs to a room overnight for observation proved to be the most horrible experience. The daytime nurse, whose patient load is 4, did not come into the room until well after 12 noon. Her reason being is she is charting. Physical therapy to help mom walk, questions for the doctor, and any other needs were all answered with, "I'll get to you when I can. Ask me your questions and I'll answer them. I'm gonna do her walking myself." Finally, we had to get a charge nurse to express our concerns. The main reason being, "oh, this nurse is just like that." Why you keep stubborn nurses employed is beyond me? Also, I would rather have the medical doctors answering my questions and not a nurse! All-in-all, what started out great soon turned awful. Oh, and let me mention that the same nurse left the computer unlocked in my mothers room - can we say HIPAA violation, and I could see every patient on the floor, left her badge in our room, and then lied to our family.

The absolute best in the southwest. The Doctors and staff here are “ up to date” in treatment and procedures and you can trust your life with the heart hospital. I personally have been going here for 13 years and have been very pleased with everything that has been done for me. It’s a no brainer, just go with full confidence.

Billing from Lovelace is abusive. Physician is fine. I established care in person early this year and had a scheduled follow up visit by phone. The physician charged $199.10, which is fine, but Lovelace charged a facility fee of $237.11, which seems excessive, particularly given the substance of the call which is not suitable to discuss here.

LHH is efficient and effective. It is easy to schedule, bring info up to date on line before appointments, and they manage waiting room times to low numbers, medical professionals are easy and open and take the time to ask, listen, assess, and then discuss to insure we understand their thinking. Nobody does it better.

I had a pacemaker installed at Lovelace Heart Hospital in April 2023. I have had no problems with it and it has really helped my problems. My treatment there during the procedure was professional, and pleasant.

The care I have received from Lovelace has been life changing. I have multiple health issues and have had multiple stays at Lovelace. The doctors, nurses and techs have all been outstanding and have provided care beyond expectations. I'm thankful that this medical center is available to me. They are professionals that really care for their patients. I could never fully express my gratitude for Lovelace's life saving care. I thank all of the staff and hope that they all keep up the good work.

My mother was having some health issues that were a concern for me. So I had her call her heart doctor, it took 2 days for them to call her back. When they did it was a nurse. They had her stand in front of her machine for 15 mins so they can check to make sure what was concerning was not her heart. It took 2 days for them to call her back. I'm upset that they didn't want to see her. She could have came in and had all test ran with in a couple of hours. Not waiting days for call backs and a scan result. Still no appointment was made. I'm still upset... Can't believe they rather look at a printout instead of the patient.

What a great place and such a great staff including the doctors and the nurses. I am so glad I left Pres. and went to the heart hospital. I believe I would be dead if I had stayed at Pres. My surgeon Dr. Booth was phenomenal and had the faith I would make it through a five bypass an thank the Lord I did. The nursing staff both in ICU and CCU were the greatest staff I have ever been around. If I could give this facility 10 stars I would.

Just wanted to say a big thanks and let the world know how professional Dr. Nair and Dr. Hoskings were in treating my friend Belinda D. These two professionals went above and beyond to make sure everything was seen to and taken care of. They did not leave a stone unturned. This is not the care we are used to, it almost seemed to good to be true! But it all was true! They both kept us in the loop at all times. The before surgery, during and recovery we're all to the highest standards with no shortcuts taken, super kind, friendly and most of all knowledgeable and professional! We really appreciate you guys, we needed someone like you both to correct this overlooked critical situation. It was a miracle we all connected. Best, Belinda and Tim

The whole team is professional and friendly. The nurses are very helpful and friendly. Dr. Charles Kim is wonderful. He is engaging, ask questions about my health, goes over my medications and I feel he spends adequate time on my visit. You never feel like he’s in a hurry. I would highly recommend the Heart Institute for your coronary health and Dr. Kim, if he is accepting new patients.

My wait to be called in was less than 10 minutes. My vitals were immediately taken. I was seen By Dr Yau and Bianca within the next few minutes. My questions and consents were listened to and addressed. I feel I’m in very good hands at Loveless Heart.

Within the last 2 months I had reason to use the Heart Hospital of NM. several times under the care of Dr. Yau, a cardiologist. The facility is very busy but I found the staff, technicians and assistants all professional and patient with me. The facility is modern and very well run and all my procedures and meetings with Dr. Yau went smoothly. I would recommend the Heart Hospital to anyone needing the services they provide.

Dr Poku and staff are great!! The waiting time is minimal before being taken in to the consultation room. The ekg is done promptly and shortly after that the doctor is in the room. Everything is discussed and I am on my way home.

I had a procedure done at the NM Heart Institute with Dr. Bestarous. Everyone that I had on my team was absolutely amazing! They were all very informative and answered all of my questions and concerns both before and after surgery. I couldn’t have asked for a finer group of people 😊 UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!!! I left my favorite mask there when I had my surgery done, but I got my mail today and the wonderful people mailed it back to me!!! Can’t out-do the caring and consideration they show their patients!

I was in the hospital for 4 days. I couldn't get a bed bath even after several requests on consecutive days. I never did get a bath. I came home and finally took a shower, which I fell at the end of I had 4 blankets on my bed because my room was so cold. It was so cold they had to prop open my door with a trash can and open the window to get warm air in my room. Numerous requests to maintenance went ignored.i was only allowed 1 walk out of my room in 4 days, despite the fact they said I should be walking at least 2 times per day. They refused to put water in my O2 supply for 2 days. Then they prescribed a concentrator for my home, but forgot to include a prescription for the bubbler. I have now been on "dry" 02 for 4 days. When the sent me home on portable 02 setup, they forgot to put the oxygen on me. POOR support services. . I rade home 3 hours without it, didn't discover it until I got home.

The Heart Institute is professional in every sense of the word. Five star. I wish I could give more. The main Lovelace hospital is zero. I would like to bestow upon them a minus five. The doc who cared for lied about tests performed and medications rendered. I was there 6/29.

I was admitted to the Heart Hospital of N.M. with Stage D heart failure after a two week stay in the ICU of another hospital and was discharged from the cardiac ICU three weeks later following multiple catheterizations, ablation therapy and the implanting of a pacemaker/ defibrillator unit. I realize that my activity will never approach its previous level prior to the heart failure, but I am now functioning extremely well. The staff of the Heart Hospital has and continues to be extremely helpful, friendly and patient with respect to their treatment of my condition, followup care and especially in their ability to explain the reasons for and the expected results of any new procedure or medication.
