Also called Enchanted or Haunted Forest. In the early 1930 it was owned by Charles Cobb until he died and now belongs to the Forest Service. Itโ€™s also were the Sam Merritt Trail begins that leads to Echo Mountain, White City & Mt. Lowe railway ruins as well as Inspiration Point and other trails. Parking is free along Alta Loma & Lake Streets.

Good hiking condition if you go early. The sun is block if you hike up earlier in the day (8am). So its cooler and easier in terms of temperature to deal with. Good distance 2.5 miles one way. No difficult spot, just a little longer than most and narrow path. (Not shoulder to shoulder, but it's not road path like potato mtn.)

Beautiful hiking trail on the historic Cobb Estate. Beautiful iron and stone gate still stands. You can still see remnants of where a building stood. Great views of the San Gabriel valley and Los Angeles. Lots of cacti and other native plants. Gorgeously lit at golden hour. Moderate trails with several overlooks. Friendly hikers. Cute critters.

I usually don't go out on a hike on Sunday's but, I made an exception this past Sunday. The hike is 5.4 miles out and back, the hills are steep and can be tough for a beginner. Overall I was glad I went up the, the weather was amazing and the rays of the sun๐ŸŒž were really sparkling... it made the day that much brighter! Enjoy the views!

Great hiking place! Amazing views. Be aware that the full stretch may be 3+ miles. We took a short cut and didnโ€™t really follow a trail and then just walked back.

If you hiking, this is the best place to do your walking. Nice view of the mountains and city of Los Angeles. Nice people walking on the trails. Everyone say each other. Love it.

I can honestly say that I did experience something strange at this place. Me and some friends doing what teenagers do decided to visit this place. While going up the trail at night and still able to see a bit because of a full moon me and a friend decided to go a few feet ahead of the rest of the group. All of a sudden the gravel on the trail started moving like in a wavy motion. Then at the same time me and my friend turned to each other and realized we both saw the same thing. Right after we both bolted back down the trail. No drugs and we weren't drunk. There was also no wind. We both saw the same thing so it's not just me going crazy. Something I've never seen and can't explain. I don't believe in the supernatural.

This place is called the haunted forest. I used to come here when I was teenager with a group of my friends on Friday or Saturday night (back then, it was not open in the night, dont know if it is now?) I will never forget the one time we were walking up the hill, reached the top I think (so long ago) and when we looked down we saw โ€œpeopleโ€ in black capes roaming in a circle. It was the scariest thingโ€ฆthey just kept chanting in their black capes going in the same circle over and over again. Itโ€™s the eeriest place at night

It's a great place to go if you want to hike in the Pasadena Altadena area without having to go really hiking hiking. I mean, you are walking along a trail to an old house that's now gone and there's trees and wood and you have a great View but if you want to go farther, there are actual trails that you can take. The trails go to Rubio Canyon Mount low you know, basically all points in that area. I have hiked those Trails before, and they were fun to do.

This is one of my favorite hiking trails area. I typically do the Echo hike, and have kept on going past Echo to do Inspiration Point a couple of times (it's a lot more challenging for me). These are the trails I'm most familiar with, although I am aware there's other trails around. For Echo, I love that it's challenging enough both when I am easily winded, and when I'm in better shape. I feel I get a great workout in general. There's some railroad relics to see, and interesting pit, stairs, and an Echo cone once you reach the top. There's a great view of the valley, and you can see LA far in the distance. There's plenty of great angles for very picturesque backgrounds. It's fun jogging back down, but if you have bad knees like myself, expect a lot of swelling and to ice afterwards. Also, it's a pretty busy trail, specially later in the morning and you see various plp with their doggos (we take 2 dogs of our own). If you get there early enough you can find parking easily, but if not, you get a nice pre-hike warm up๐Ÿ˜Š.

Great park with awesome ruins. There are several trails that all pretty well maintained and marked. The hike itself is pretty easy to moderate if choose to take the trails to the top of the ridge. Not too crowded either. The parking is on the street though so be aware of signs.

Great hike to echo mountain! And the rewards at the top are definitely worth it! Short 3 hours or so, up and down, 5 total miles, pretty easy but take your time if new. One of my favorites for when friends are in town!

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ I stopped by this park for a quick pit stop and was impressed. There were a couple of ladies enjoying lunch in the covered picnic area, a guy getting in a workout on the machines, and a couple of people watching their kids in the playground. It was overall clean and bright. It felt quite peaceful...
