Had a great big freshly cooked haddock and chips as was recommended by the guy behind the counter. Perfectly cooked and crispy not too thick batter. Really enjoyed it. Cheeky curry, mushy peas & sausage on the side too 😋

what an excellent English chippy located by the market.wonderful food and very friendly service.you can either sit in have your meal or have it to takeaway.has your standard chippy menu but worth every penny.even I was full afterwards.recomend it to anyone for value for money.its also very busy which is proof that's one of the best in Altrincham.

Always a fantastic place to get fish & chips whilst in Altrincham. One of the few original fish & chip shops in the area always serving freshly cooked fish along with a wide variety of pies, chicken nuggets and accompaniments.

My favourite chippy to visit. I've been going for 30yrs as my grandparents loved the place too. A family run establishment. The best fresh fish in Altrincham. Myself and my children love to sit on the front and people watch with fish, chips and curry sauce 😋.

Just to let evryone no that lesley the little blonde woman that worked in here did not leave she was let go time was hard and we all agree through the pandemic but lesey had served 25 years at the chippy and was the life and soul of this place and to be let go after 25 years without a thank you was a bit disgraceful from Paul Mcdonald the owner and his son Anthony Mcdonald and then we later realised lesley was the only one to be let go from the chippy and we later found out that Anthony wudent let the other staff go Sharon because they was sleeping with each other so that covers her job like farther like son them to anyway both had countless affaires but just though I'd bring to evryone attention that lesley did not leave and ps karen that works the is most 2faced whale going ps they found rats in her coat so says summit about her personal hygiene 👍

As good a Fish and Chips as any , in fact better . I shall be calling again as soon as I am in Altrincham. Large portion , pricey these days at £7.50 , but that's it if you want genuine Cod and a good portion. Service is also first class too.

Yesterday was the first time we went to this restaurant. But It is no doubt not the last. We passed a splendid evening with the excellent service, with the exceptional meal and fine drinks and with the decent cost. We will surely go back there again.

we nearly walked past this place but oh goodness thank the lord we didn't, we sat in the dining room at the rear which is quirky and very clean. The staff are extremely polite and then there's the food, the chips were perfect, wonderful tasty chips the cod had just the right amount of batter and the cod itself was so white and lots of flavours. I will definetly return here stuff the waistlines life is way too short please go and enjoy this chippy you will not be disappointed.

We popped in to get a snack between bars, the service was fast even though there was a bit of a queue. We had a regular portion, plus a pie and curry sauce amounting to £6. Which I think is a bargain to be honest! The chips were lovely and fresh, crispy with lots of salt and vinegar. The pie was a bit chewy but it was still nice. We had a little table outside which was covered by a canopy so was nice to have a sit outside and people watch - there was seating inside though. The place was very clean and the food very tasty. Defo recommended.

Firstly, I asked for a simple order of a fish and chips and came out with a meat and potato pie. I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt just in case they had a busy day, which I highly doubt because it looked bone dry. Secondly the curly haired fella was being unnecessarily rude displaying no signs of formality. Thirdly the food was not the best tasting even tho I am a meat and potato connoisseur. Definitely do not recommend this place, 1 star review!

Loved the fish, the fries, the lovely ladies who manage the place. Great value for money. The food was fresh, and tasted great. Definitely recommend this local diner.

Really fresh and delicious fish and chips. The mushy peas are also very tasty, but they use brown bread instead of white for their bread and butter and the butter is sparse. All in all worth a visit, but wrap up as it can be cold in the restaurant in the back.

Fantastic. Not too much fish (I'm easily overfaced), well cooked chips and not at all greasy. Superb.

Hot & delicious chips & a whopper sausage! (Miss Chilli helped a little of course). We had both been walking for almost 2 hours, so were ready for something hot. Mmmmm. Jo x

Friendly fantastic fabulous food

Dispite the lockdown this fish and chips is open. Check the opening hours but on Friday and Saturday still open till 8pm. Wear a face mask please. I was served cod a cone of chips and mushy pea. £8. Excellent value and taste.
