This is absolutely not a 4.5 star hotel. It is a 3 star at the most. Look at the quality of the breakfast items. Look at the quality of service. Look at the quality of the front office. Look at the items in the bathroom. I would like to see this hotel immediately evaluated for it's star rating. ----- I spoke to the manager, Matthew. he assured me that the items of breakfast are under review, the staff is undergoing new training, and the housekeeping is re expanding to what it used to be. Therefore I will amend my star rating to a 4. They deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Everything was 5 stars for me. The moment I checked in and received a big smile from the front desk lady really made me feel welcomed. I stay at a large amount of hotels throughout the year and do my inspections of the room before getting comfortable and everything was in order. clean organized and spacious rooms. This hotel location is perfect for the traveler with plenty of stores in the area. Fitness center was well kept and easy to adjust temperature controls. I would stay here again and look forward to the day that I do. Happy Holidays to the staff you guy's were Great!!

Amazing clean friendly atmosphere. Rooms were taken care of and offered great amenities. Pool and hot tub was amazing 👏. Breakfast had long open hours and offered a large variety. Also want to shout out to Dave the night guy that checked us in . An absolute delightful guy and very professional. Made check in very easy and fast for a midnight check in . Also the other daytime front desk associates were very friendly with smiles and just very helpful. Great hotel, plenty of stuff around and not a bad distance from niagra so keeps you away from all the crazy. 100 percent recommend 👌

Had a good stay. Clean room. One elevator was broken so thank goodness it wasn't to busy when we were coming and going. Breakfast buffet on Christmas morning was good. Location is tough to get out of when there is a lot of traffic.

We have stayed in many many hotels with my kids sports all over the country and stayed in some scary dirty places. But this spot does not disappoint in any categories. Room is large clean and comfortable. We stayed in a 2 queen room with a pullout. Great breakfast. Customer service was outstanding and it sounds funny but very engaging with a little conversation about the Bills game were going too. Highly recommend.

Check in time is 3pm but checked in at 6pm and the room wasn't ready. Ended up waiting another hour and checked in at 7pm. Wasn't happy with that but at least the room and hotel was clean. **update** 2nd visit. Gave it another chance. Wow.. this is the last time at this place. We had the hockey team on the same floor running around yelling, banging on the doors, slamming doors. I dont get it. If your hotel is considered higher end, why would you put normal people that want peace and quiet on the same floor? Common sense hello?? We visit this area often.. but you just lost a customer. We'll be staying elsewhere for sure. Plus your breakfast lost its touch.

Room was large and clean. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub were great. Love the fireplace outside. Breakfast was some of the best I've every had. There was such a huge selectionof foods. Loved that they offer all kinds of extras if needed.

I spent a generous amount of money to book at this place. I asked for my room to be refreshed and for them to enter the room. Upon check-in, the man at the front desk said that my rooms would, in fact, be refreshed by housekeeping. I believed him. The next day, I went out for the day and came back—however, both of my rooms were not cleaned. No towels were replaced. It’s weird because the man at the check-in counter informed me that my rooms would be refreshed. When I later inquired about it, he said that they are busy and could not even get me towels for another 1-2 hours. I don’t want to be the difficult customer, but I am upset and VERY disappointed by this treatment. I have never stayed at a hotel (of any level or rating) who treated me like this. I felt uncomfortable asking for anything else afterwards because I am not one to cause drama. This definitely did not leave a good taste for me. I will not be staying at this hotel again.

Made a trip out to Buffalo to catch a Bills game, ended up spending the night at this hotel, at first when we arrived we figured it was kind of far out from everything. After driving around town, so glad we spent the night here, for one it’s an amazing hotel with great staff, and two Buffalo is ghost town at night, staying at this hotel felt a lot safer rather than spending a night in the Downtown area where it’s completely dead after 9pm. There’s also great grocery / food options minutes away from the location.

I have stayed here twice within the past two weeks and I should have learned from my first experience, to not stay again. There are two members of the staff who stand out to me because they went above and beyond and were very kind. One is a young man with blonde hair who works the front desk (I feel terrible that I cannot recall his name) and an elderly gentleman who works the front desk overnight… I didn’t get an opportunity to ask his name. The rest were not pleasant nor helpful. Last week after staying one night we decided to stay a second and asked if it were possible to stay in the same room, we had a lot of belongings and a baby and thought it was worth a shot to simply try. We were repeatedly told no and that they were booked yet when I went online to book again, there was more than enough rooms available, including the kind we were already in. I called several times to the front desk to get the reservation taken care of and was consistently hung up on or transferred to customer service. I would call the front desk again and ask to speak to a manager… and yet again, I’d be hung up on or transferred. The person who kept doing this stated his name was Nico which i immediately wrote down and saved. The breakfast selection is vast and the food is good. Otherwise, I was stressed out during my stay, especially the second one. We had to move rooms multiple times due to various issues such as the door not locking or the toilet not flushing… not being clogged, simply just not flushing. We have a 3 year old and had difficulty putting her to sleep because of the extremely loud noises above us. It was like a stampede of elephants, this was with a sound machine going in the room already. I went to the front desk and spoke with Nico who said he would relay a message to a manager but I never heard anything (not that shocked because again, I was dealing with Nico) Additionally, there seems to be a steady stream of shady activity going on in the parking lots, especially out back. There are people in vehicles at night with the lights on for hours on end. We had to close all blinds due to the headlights coming into our room. I did not feel safe to go outside after the sun went down. ***spills constantly left on floors and in elevators***

We stayed at this hotel for my birthday trip in August to check out the Niagara Falls. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Nico, Jessica, Caroline, Jeanette and Alex were all so amazing. They greeted us each time they saw us and anytime we had a question or needed assistance, they were more than happy to help with a smile. Z made the breakfast experience fantastic. He worked extremely hard to keep everything stocked and was so accommodating to guests' needs. The room was clean and spacious. The facility was well maintained. My husband and I will definitely back! Thank you for the listed individuals above for making our stay so enjoyable!

Can't say enough about this hotel. CLose to the main hiway so you're not traveling far once you exit off the freeway. Hyatt does it again. You already know how your stay is going to be when you walk in to the front desk. We checked in late afternoon on Nov 21 and were greeted with a lady with a friendly smile. Great customer service from the moment you walk in at the front desk to even the room cleaning staff at the hotel and lots of freebies like water, coffee/tea and great little breakfast buffet in the morning that the workers fill constantly to keep things clean, fresh and moving. Immediately let us know what we get for our membership and we just joined only a few months ago so creating a membership is well worth it. This is why we choose Hyatt wherever we go. You know you are going to get the best from the moment you walk in. Room was very clean and modern with amenities like shampoo, conditioner and shower gel - things that other hotels have removed to save costs - so appreciated here though. Also appreciated are the clock that works and also plugs everywhere where they are convenient for charging your electronics like right by the bedside within reach and not under some table somewhere where you have to crawl to get to. Everything was working fine and bedding was great. Book with confidence. Thank you Hyatt.

We had several rooms for a wedding weekend. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The rooms are very clean, with fresh duvets, and nice bathrooms. There is actually a very nice washer and dryer on each floor if you need it. Breakfast is well stocked, and staff is constantly cleaning up the area. The lobby, and eating area is very large with tons of nicely spaced tables. This is our second stay here, and will stay again.

We stayed here for a night and I was very satisfied with the overall experience and feel. Rooms and location were clean and plow for snow was out early to clear a main path. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Overall no complaints. Pricing was fair as well which is a huge factor in why we picked this location.

We had a great experience at this hotel! The room was spacious clean and I loved the couch in the room. The pool was big and the hot tub was nice. We ate dinner at the restaurant on site and it was good and affordable. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. We will be back.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Hyatt Place. Staff was welcoming and attentive. The room and common areas well maintained. We needed senior accommodations which did not have a roll in shower but otherwise was well equipped and roomy. Would be happy to and will stay again.

My son and I enjoyed a stay at the Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst Hotel at the end of August 2023 for a one-week college/business trip. Our stay could not have been any better. The hotel management and lobby staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was excellent! Our room was nicely decorated and very clean. It had two queen-sized beds, a sofa sleeper, well-stocked toiletries, a blow dryer, an iron/ironing board, a mini refrigerator, and an onsite laundry facility. Housekeeping staff ensured we had plenty of towels and toiletries needed and were very helpful with any extra requests. The room size was more than required, making our stay feel at home. There was a market station near the lobby front desk for snacks, beverages, and assorted items. The staff at the breakfast bar made sure we had a delicious breakfast each morning, and we enjoyed the food and staff at The Placery and Lobby Bar, where I enjoyed an evening coffee after a long day of work and sightseeing. We enjoyed the lake view from our room and the beautifully well-kept property and grounds with beautiful flowers and plants; the landscaping crew takes much pride in their work. The overall facility was superb. Onsite free parking was a plus since we were there for a week, and coming and going throughout all hours of the day, we felt very safe! The location was also safe and close to all major roads that lead into Buffalo and the many area tourist sites, restaurants, and shopping. My daily trips, many into downtown Buffalo, only took 15 minutes and 45 minutes to Niagara Falls via the Niagara Falls Scenic Parkway, which is a must. Overall, it is an excellent hotel and location, which made our stay a comfortable and well-enjoyed trip. We look forward to staying at Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst again on our next visit; I highly recommend it!

Kind and courteous staff and spacious rooms as usual but, Cleanliness left a little to be desired. A used bottle cap on the carpet and long hair in the bathroom. Clearly, I can see the housekeeping staff was rushed and not fully attentive.

This hotel is just okay. The rooms are clean but there are some imperfections when you start to look closely. My room phone didn't work and the pillows kinda suck. Service was good as they were quick to respond to my request for more pillows. TV channels are limited. Getting in and out of this location isn't great. Make sure to get a paper receipt.

Booked it with points, but still at a reasonable number. Easy online check in/out. Very nice double queen room. Water pressure was comical. They are all in on conservation.

Hyatt does it right. Reasonable prices/points and overall good job. I never stayed at a Hyatt before earning points through Chase but they really do a good job. I recently stayed at a Hilton but the Hyatt blew them away for a mid-point price/points . This hotel is clean and front staff especially nice.

I stayed here for two nights back in June. Very clean and comfortable. I rested well and had two hot showers in the mornings. They also provide a hot buffet breakfast. Close to the airport too. I would return in the future.

Rooms were very clean. The staff were friendly overall. About 25 minutes drive to Niagara Falls and the breakfast was pretty good as well. Good value for money. Will definitely stay here again.

Overall a pleasant stay . Positives would be friendly staff ( Latisha welcoming and warm ) sizable free breakfast in the morning , easy check in and out process and nice use of technology with Hyatt app to unlock the door if you forget your key or don't like carrying it everywhere . The staff also txt's you to see how your stay is going which is a nice touch. The room was clean and had a fold out bed if I needed . The hotel is centrally located to a lot of attractions and restaurants. You don't feel forced to door dash or too far to choose where you want to eat . Negatives would be the thin walls , you can here full conversations while others are using a normal tone ( not yelling) all while laying in your bed. Overall I would stay again .

Lipstick on a pig. Room: Shortly after check-in I received a text asking how the room was. I responded letting then know the toilet lid was not attached to the toilet. We left for the afternoon and it was fixed upon our return - which was greatly appreciated. The next day when we arrived back to our room there was a pool of water on top of the toilet seat. We realized at 5:30am the next morning that water was coming out of the light fixture right above the toilet. I'm guessing someone in the room above us was showering. I let the frint desk know when we checked out. The linens on the bed we're dirty - coffee stained maybe? The cabinets and dresser drawers would not close completely - old furniture. Pool area: the hot tub was filthy! The jets, when turned on are very aggressive, which is fine, but when they are turned off it's very apparent how much hair and debris are floating around. GROSS AIt really needs to be drained and cleaned. I will say the pool area was spacious and the pool itself was fine. Breakfast: several things to choose from, however they seemed to have a hard time keeping things stocked. We stayed 3 nights and ate breakfast all 3 mornings. First morning I asked when we could expect more oatmeal (the sign was out but the holder was empty) and I was told "We don't have any, I guess no one felt like making any today" 2nd and 3rd mornings had many empty containers along with very sticky floors. Overall, I was not impressed. When our family travels we look for a clean facility, friendly staff, nice pool and good selection for hot breakfast. It's obvious to me this hotel is old and has been slightly renovated. This was our first stay at a Hyatt and I don't see us staying at another.

We usually stay with Marriott or Hilton due to status, but we signed up to be World of Hyatt members and stayed at the Hyatt Place for the very first time. Our experience here was pretty average. The room was a decent size, but it could've been a bit cleaner. I usually go through everything with wipes when I get in, and as soon as I lifted the toilet seat, I could tell it wasn't as thoroughly cleaned as it should be. I had to wipe down more than I usually do at hotels but otherwise, the room was alright. The general consensus was that the mattresses felt very hard, with what felt like a mattress pad on top to even it out. There was actually no shampoo at all in the wall mounted pump bottles, but luckily we brought our own. Seems like a few things were overlooked when preparing the room. The service at front desk was great, as well as the free breakfast. Location of hotel is in proximity with the malls we were visiting.

Great location to stay while in Buffalo. Closer to most major places. Great time spent with my family. Clean rooms, midern look, great breakfast selection. The staff was super friendly. Recommend to folks going on a visit to in and around Buffalo.

Great service, great location, and very nice rooms! The staff were very welcoming, accommodating, and friendly. Our room was very clean. The only reason why I'm rating it 4 stars and not 5 stars is because the pool + hot tub could have been cleaner. They didn't look as well maintained as they could have been. Aside from the pool and hot tub, this was a nice hotel.

Great room, excellent service each time. Small in-house bar, and they serve food. Only down side is that it's a super busy location and can be difficult getting out of the parking lot in the afternoon and evening.

Has some of the best hotel breakfasts! The amenities are pretty awesome and easily accessible. The staff are very accommodating especially the hotel shuttles from the airport. The rooms are minimally decorated and fully functional.

We stayed at the Hyatt during the Buffalo blizzard 22. The staff and especially Nick (GM) are extremely friendly especially knowing we were all snowed in for days at Christmas. As well as the staff snowed in with us. But everyone was helpful in a tough situation! The team cooking the food did their very best with limited supplies. Rooms are very nice but the staff is the best!!

  • 5/5 Nancy N. 1 year ago on Google
An amazing staff make this location a cut above in terms of service. Welcoming and accomidating, we were amazed at the level of amenities for the price point. You could pay twice the nightly rate for no fridge, no micro, no coffee maker, no breakfast, no lobby cookies or coffee and tea, and no breakfast. Add an indoor pool and workout room to the list and you indeed have a cherry. Set back significantly from the road, and with signage that can be missed for an adjacent property, you'll want to slow down and enter and drive back to find this not to be missed gem.

Only stayed one night while in town for work, but I have no complaints. Nice, clean rooms and great service. Hot breakfast was better than most I’ve had elsewhere. Suite doors do not do a great job of blocking noise from the corridor, but I wouldn’t knock off a star just for that.

We stayed during the blizzard of 22 (with a 5 year old and 2 month old). I have to commend the staff that were stranded with us, working through Christmas without even having a change of clothes, let alone being able to leave to spend time with their loved ones. They remained professional and friendly the entire time and I sincerely appreciate their efforts to make all guests happy and comfortable. They even went out of their way to offer the media /business room to allow my daughter to have more space to move around & color. While the on-site food options were very limited (and understandably so), the staff made do with what they had. We absolutely enjoyed our time and will continue to book here for future visits.

Stayed there for one night for some important work on a weekday. I found few hair on the bed but had driven 9 hours to get there and did not have strength to move rooms or change anything. I just brushed it off and slept. Location was nice. Had a lot of good things near by such as target, Tim Horton, and good eating places as well. Breakfast was excellent!!

  • 3/5 Ivan B. 1 year ago on Google
No microwaves in the room was a major inconvenience having to go downstairs to the lobby 2-3x/day to warm up food or water for tea. Also, the decaf coffee and hot water were not replenished too often. It appears maybe 1-2x then they're just removed altogether. Also, there was this boys baseball team staying here. Unfortunately they were quite loud as were some of the kids. Running up and down the halls, letting doors slam behind them multiple times and this continued into the night from 10-11 pm. They also made a mess in the hallway with chips on the floor, etc. There needs to be better enforcement and rule regulation in situations like this. Other than these things, it was a pretty good stay. It's a beautiful location and the overall decor is good.

Staff very friendly. The breakfast area was very clean and well stocked. I’m a light eater in the morning so I just had the scrambled egg whites, hash browns and coffee. It was fresh and delicious. My room was very comfortable and clean. I will definitely stay again next time I’m in Buffalo for a visit.
