My experience at Ace wasn't totally negative; however I expected more, hence the 3 stars. To condense this review down a bit - the food was good. It wasn't so busy on a Thursday night, but we still waited 1.5 hours for our mains. For a 40 euro steak there was a lot of grizzle and fat to chew through too... Tasted like they got their produce from Albert Hein that day. Service was good, waiter was attentive and knew the menu. I don't get the theme of the restaurant though.. is it a casino? Card shark den? Pictures of women covered in blood on the walls was an interesting touch. If the staff made card jokes / puns it would make more sense (e.g "woah full house tonight, aye folks?!" Etc). At the end of the night, 250 euro for 4 mains a bottle of wine and a single starter to share just didn't cut it for this LVL 7 google expert. Wouldn't recommend. EDIT: I am now LVL 8

Restaurant is potential rising start restaurant. There is still a lot things than can be improved. First - in order to have more authentic restaurant I will suggest to renovate bit a floor , change tables and chairs with something more simple and natural style. Old wooden items in the place will get more attention if you remove plastic tables and shining lights. Service was nice , however very slow. For 4 course menu we spend 2 hours during lunch time. And restaurant was not busy at the moment. Food has interesting mix, my favorite is lamb neck. Wine list is ok with fair pricing. We were sitting at the window table, first we though is a nice . But actually it was very noisy from the street , food delivery trucks and I m looking into the garbage bin. Also windows were dirty . A bit of cleaning is needed in the whole place. Not sure if I will come again. Thanks for our waiter today , he really give his best to have a good experience today. Good luck !

I came here during restaurant week, and got the 3 course tasting menu. Started off with a beautiful steak tartare, pork for the main, and a delicious medley of flavors for dessert. Such a beautiful interior to enjoy as well. I got the upstairs table overlooking the street view. A perfect date night spot ❤️

Great food and a very friendly staff. Thank you for a lovely evening ✨ Also had a chance to order their delicious green tea, and it's a real sencha tea leaves and not a silly tea bag 😄(In Holland restaurants usually offer tea in a tea bag, and restaurants with some real tea have a special place in my heart).

Amazing food experience. We had a five dishes menu. It was all well accomplished. The flavours together with the ingredients and truly made with a lot of love made our food journey the best experience we had so far. Thanks for excellent service from our waiter! Worth keeping in mind. The oldest staff is not more then 26 year!!!!! That’s respect!

My expectations were much higher. I didn't like the food combinations. It was crude and there were some basic mistakes one shouldn't do. Like overcook a guinea fowl. If you're so uninspired as to serve guinea fowl, please learn how to cook it. The food is worth 2 stars at best. What made up for it was the friendly waiter who did come up with some very nice wines. Even though he did serve me wine on Wednesday which was opened on a Sunday, making the taste bland. After I made a remark about this, we got nothing but great wines. Had a lovely time with the misses, but we were both disappointed with the food.

One of the best treats in Amsterdam. You will not be disappointed. Have the chefs menu with wine paring. Wonderful service and lovely ambiance and outstanding food. I've been back twice.. and I have more planned!

I had a wonderful night out with a friend here. Greatly enjoyed the food, the wine pairing was done with thought and complimented the dishes perfectly. We were early and they seated us exactly were we wanted in an intimate alcove upstairs overlooking the city.

The reservation was made through the restaurant week and I had high expectations. Gazpacho as entrée with cherries, pistachio and ricotta cheese, which was very very very bad, the only thing you could taste was the acidity of the gazpacho. Main course on the other hand was delicious, cod with an amazing mushroom gravy, loved it. Dessert was OK. Portions were very small tho, I went back home still hungry. Looong waiting time considering it was only a 3 course menu, it took 3 hours in total. OK service. Do I wanna go back? Nope! Although I might give it another chance.

What an amazing experience eating at Restaurant ACE. We had an outstanding 4 course vegetarian dinner, perfectly cooked and balanced. Small but very nice wine selection and every wine harmonized perfectly with our meal. The service was so kind and attentive and explained every course to us. An upscale restaurant with an extremely stylish interior - a must when you are in amsterdam A big thank you to the whole team for that wonderful evening, you do an amazing job

We tried the six course menu with wine arrangement. It is a wonderful journey of the taste palates with every dish and wine! The price is extremely reasonable. Certainly a place to spoil yourself without spending much.

Wow! Amazing food, the salmon was the best vish I ever tasted! Service was good and atmosphere just perfect. Love this place a true gem in the city of Amsterdam

Excellent choice for a special dinner. The service was amazing, especially given that it's in Amsterdam. The food was interesting, creative and very tasty. The atmosphere is cosy, the interior is quirky. We loved Restaurant ACE.
