It's a beautiful hotel with very large and quiet rooms. The bedding was clean and there was no odor in the room. The garden in the center of the hotel is unique and refreshing. If you have a long stay, I would only recommend getting the hotel breakfast buffet for a few days, because it is exactly the same every day, and is the only aspect which I was disappointed by in my stay.

Simply amazing. Do not skip on the morning breakfast. Tasty options and worth the price. The pool lounge was fun, relaxing, and includes a waterfall and jets for swimming against the current. Nice views of the water and surrounding buildings. Love the tropical theme here and complimentary drinks upon check-in. Only thing I would improve would be the lighting in the rooms. Reminded me of a romantic candlelit dinner which is too dim for me.

Stayed here for my Birthday. My friend arranged balloons and a cake with the hotel which was lovely and a nice touch that the hotel offers for a fee. The hotel is stunning and the “garden” is a lovely touch. The rooms are large and spacious and the balcony is enclosed which is nice so I was able to enjoy despite the weather. However, the rooms are quite dark. Breakfast is delicious and has a good range of options. The bar is also nice and has views of Amsterdam but quite small so you may have to wait or sacrifice getting the view. The drinks were very tasty! The spa is okay! The pool was cold and the steam room and sauna require you to be naked. I understand the tradition but I think having slots for times people prefer to be covered or for men and women would be better. Overall, really enjoyed my stay and would recommend the hotel!

Would fully avoid this hotel if you are looking for a good night sleep! the bed was terrible! Both my husband and I woke up with back pain in the morning!!!! When mentioned to the hotel front desk, they didn't even apologize or offer something in return, they just said "ok that's strange". What kind of service is this? For a room that costs 250 euros per night, you would at least expect a decent service and a good bed.

Gorgeous hotel right on water on large canal. Great staff. Bus 43 stops right at hotel & makes travel on trams, bus & Metro a snap. Little navigating required to get to inner city canals & museums but very doable. Awesome sauna & spa & loved my room with balcony overlooking the canal. But breakfast included is a big reason I would stay again - Eggs Benedict, eggs lots of ways, smoked salmon, fresh veggies & fruits, meats, cheeses, pancakes, waffles, bread, fresh squeezed juices, tasty coffee & espresso. It was so delicious & such nice variety. I did not have to eat / buy lunch 1 day when staying at Hotel Jakarta. Loved it!

Went together with my girlfriend to Hotel Jakarta and we had a wonderful experience. The moment we arrived friendly staff assisted us and informed us about some features they offer which was very useful. Upon arriving in our room we were greeted by a large space with a beautiful bathroom, big bed, beautiful view + a lovely message towards us from the Jakarta Staff Team. Short summary about the food; Definitely recommend and it’s a nice experience. Both dinner and breakfast had a nice variety and nice seating too. The spa was also cute, the swimming pool was relaxing and had some nice touches to enhance the experience Overal Hotel Jakarta is highly recommend if you want to chill for some time while having a good time. Multiple days would be highly advised

Jakarta Hotel in Amsterdam is comfortable and very clean. We spent 4 days at the Jakarta Hotel and were very satisfied. The service of the staff as well as the cleanliness in the rooms was excellent. We had booked a junior suite, which was as expected very clean and large. The location of the hotel is a little outside the city. Since the hotel is located directly on the sea, sometimes a small wind passes by the entrance. The city can be reached well on foot in +/- 15 minutes. I certainly recommend the hotel.

Such a stunning hotel! we enjoyed our stay so much, firstly the room was very clean and beautiful with an amazing view, the restaurant serves delicious dishes with very different flavours, the Malabar has the most delicious cocktails and the spa/Pool are the perfect end touch to a unique stay. Nevertheless this would not be possible without all the staff, each one of them takes the time to explain everything and are really on top of their service. This will be an experience I’ll remember forever. Thank you 💘

Hotel was absolutely amazing! Service was top notch, rooms were very comfortable with an amazing river view. The staff went out of the way to really make your stay an unforgettable one. They even packed breakfast when we left at 5 AM. Truly a one of a kind stay- cannot wait to return in the future!

I went there with a friend that is staying at the hotel for breakfast. I had my very tiny dog with me. I was not alerted at the entrance that the place was not dog friendly. The host just received us and let us in, suddenly another employee reached us when we were already at the table and asked us to leave because we had a dog. If you don’t allow dogs let us know up front. We don’t wanna be there and we don’t want to be asked to leave. Tell me at the entrance or put a sign.

Well lets begin this review by sending a huge shout out to Esther, she was the main employee we had contact with at the front desk!!! Thank you for not only being so nice, but full of knowledge and great recommendations. Furthermore, you are an absolute great point of contact for the hotel, setting the tone for a fabulous vacation my partner and I had. We ended up in one of the suites, and it was absolutely lovely. We ordered room service, and the food was quite tasty and so fresh. The bar on the 8th floor, Malabar, great drinks and tasty portions of food. Thank you again to housekeepers who always left our room amazingly refreshed, to maintenance people who came to fix our curtains!! A huge should out to the whole team and thank you guys again, looking forward to one day going again!

This is the best hotel I've stayed at to date. The whole vibe and aesthetic of the hotel is amazing. They're all about sustainability and organic materials. It felt like being transported elsewhere and i felt an amazing calm energy with the plants. Really cool hotel!

One of the most beautiful hotel I had spend my vacation the best customer service, hospitality, and welcoming check in. I definitely will come back again to spend my next Amsterdam vacation in this amazing hotel. The view from the room was distinctive. The only little tiny comment is that the breakfast need to have more options reflect the hotel standers and high expectation. Thank you Hotel Jakarta 👍🏻👏🏻

I’m late on posting this review. Wow what an experience, your very own tropical jungle when you open your bedroom door! We booked this hotel based on the greenery and the extra deep bath. Both were outstanding. We called in the bakery every day too. Well you’ve got to sample the cakes! Oh and the coffee, both 5* We had continental breakfast every morning which had so much choice, it was really good. I’d love to come back and stay, if anyone asks me about Amsterdam I always recommend this gem of a place.

Total spa vibes. I enjoyed this hotel! Was the perfect ending to the trip! The pool and saunas were amazing (they are traditional saunas so expect to be naked - and it’s mixed gender). Staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

The rooms were okay - nothing special other than the cooling. We made the mistake of utilizing the balcony briefly to ventilate the room after a shower and immediately wound up with a swarm of mosquitoes and flies. The location is good if you want to be far enough from Amsterdam to get quiet, but close enough to take a cab or walk an extra half hour to get anywhere. The staff are excellent, helpful, and very friendly. The restaurant at the hotel was quite good and worth the experience.

Great hotel, great location. Very modern hotel. Rooms small but pretty. The rooms have all the amenities, including bathrobes and slippers you could keep. The hotel has a restaurant but also a separate cafe that provides small snacks and drinks at a cost. The best surprise was the included deluxe buffet breakfast. I have never seen so many healthy but also unhealthy options. My favourite was the coffee machine with all the specialty coffees both in decaf and regular. I could get a delicious medium size latte in about 10 seconds! Access to the downtown core where all the action is was only a short walk across the bridge which is right outside the hotel and the tram line stop was right at the end of the bridge and was a very short ride to Central Station where all the action starts.Would definitely stay here again.

Very nice stay at the Jakarta. We arrived 3hrs earlier that checkout time and as they had the room ready we were able to go there, which is really appreciated. All the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast has a really good selection and the coffee and bakery is very cozy. We didn’t eat diner or lunch at the restaurant but so recommend you to check out the bar at the top of the hotel. It’s not a centric hotel but if you are in Amsterdam for a long stay or working close to the central station then it’s perfect as there’s a bus stop just outside the hotel and it’s a quick trip. The wellness area is very convenient, there’s a small gym, a pool and a sauna. You can also book a massage (can’t comment on this as I didn’t get one but would have loved to, next time!)

Best value for money hotel. It is located a little bit out of the city centre, but with good public transport connections. Staff is always very kind and friendly. Rooms are clean, nice and big enough. Hotel is modern with nice architecture. They have nice breakfast with variety of food. Also for lunch and dinner there is great choice of seafood, sushi, etc. Hotel has nice places for meetings which is located in more quiet area. I’m staying in this hotel for couple of months in a rows and I can highly recommend.

We arrived mid morning and was able to go to our room straight away. The room was great, well equipped and clean. The interior of the hotel is modern and welcoming. We had dinner in the restaurant which was lovely. Unfortunately we did not get to sample the included breakfast due to an early check out but we were given a very generous breakfast box. The staff are friendly and very helpful.

We loved our stay at Hotel Jakarta. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. My wife had a scary accident while riding one of the hotel’s bikes. The staff helped retrieve the bike, wrote a warm note, and offered a big chocolate bar. On another occasion, they reopened the (excellent) Bakery Westers which is inside the hotel, as we wanted to buy some cakes after hours. One of the staff members offered to lend me his charging cable, so I could charge my rental car on their (many) EV charging stations. Great examples of going ‘above & beyond’, in small but thoughtful ways. Will definitely stay at Hotel Jakarta again!

Nice room but a bit dark compared to the pictures. Parking is safe and easy to access. Room could have been a bit cleaner(7/10) i forgot sunglasses in the room so i called 5 min after checkout but when we asked staff they couldn't find it but we knew they were in the room as my wife asked me to bring them down earlier. I guess housekeeping found them before we noticed we forgot them. Anyway everything else was nice here. Service was good with the 1 exception.

We stayed at the Jarkarta at the beginning of October. The hotel is located on an island east of the Centraal Station - a half-hour walk or shorter via public transport. Our room was lovely, with a balcony with a great view over the water. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was really great. Breakfast was nice. We chose to eat one dinner at the hotel, which was very nice as well. A real benefit of the hotel is the public transport - we used the bus and tram to and from the hotel-quick, clean, and safe. The staff were all lovely and nothing seemed to much trouble.

Good hotel, nice vibes. Hard to reach without a car. Had one issue where we got a late checkout but the hotel did not communicate that to the cleaning staff, and they walked in on us in the room without knocking. (even though we had the DND on )

The best hotel I've ever stayed in. Rooms were luxurious with stunning views over the water! Breakfast had a good variety and the pool was excellent too. Would definitely stay here again, great value.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Jakarta Hotel in Amsterdam, and I must say, it was an experience I thoroughly enjoyed. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was greeted with warm hospitality that made me feel right at home. The location of the hotel is fantastic, offering easy access to some of Amsterdam’s most iconic sights. The rooms were a standout feature - spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully decorated with a unique blend of modern and traditional Indonesian elements. The staff at Jakarta Hotel deserve a special mention for their exceptional service. They were always on hand, offering helpful advice on places to visit and ensuring my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. In conclusion, my stay at the Jakarta Hotel was nothing short of wonderful. It’s a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and warm hospitality. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Amsterdam and looking for a memorable stay.”

This hotel is absolutely beautiful with a unique experience in the middle of Amsterdam. I cannot say enough about Claudia who was so helpful and warm to my mom and I after we spent 9 hours traveling in this morning. Claudia came to personally deliver our room keys in the bakery and gave us the most special experience checking in. We appreciate you so much, Claudia! Also, the bakery is wonderful. We ordered room service from Cafe Jakarta and weren't too impressed with the food. We were hoping for some delicious Indonesian food and ended up leaving most of the food behind after a few bites.

We loved our stay in the Jakarta from the excellent concierge to the indoor jungle to the delicious cocktails. Superb facilities and staff. I appreciated staying in a quieter part of Amsterdam having spent times in the busy areas, yet it's only a couple of tram stops away from the centre.

Modern, nice hotel less than 30 minutes walk from downtown. Service is nice, breakfast is freshly cooked and tasty although it starts late (after 7 AM), tasty Indonesian restaurant, comfortable room, bathroom, AC... A great destination if you come to Amsterdam.

  • 5/5 Florian W. 2 years ago on Google
To propose, I booked one of the suites for one night with a panoramic view of the water and Amsterdam. In addition to the room, I was offered balloons and roses to top it off. The service was very positive from the first moment! From check-in to the room to breakfast is a TOP hotel which we can recommend without reservation. It was even asked if we would like to have breakfast in the room. We would come back anytime and are already looking forward to the next time!

I was here on a business trip. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The place is a bit off downtown Amsterdam but still easy to reach. It's situated on a little peninsula so you happen to have a great view on water. The hotel is very modern, well kept and inviting. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the room very modern und stylisch yet comfy. Breakfast was amazing - there is something for everybody. I also went to check out the spa area and was not disappointed! If you come to Amsterdam for leisure or fun purposes, remember this place!!

Beautiful hotel with a nice bakery, lobby, spa, gym, pool, panoramic cocktail bar and a beautiful indoor tropical garden. Very nice staff and very clean.

Really nice restaurant, good food and great atmosphere. A pity that the hotel concierge was not so helpful when we were enquiring for a hotel room. It was especially difficult to get information about the use of the spa facilities. Until you book, you are basically not sure if you can use the spa at all since it has to be reserved in advance and only by hotel guests.

  • 5/5 A. O. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely beautiful hotel. The super friendly waiters in the restaurant were actually the best part! Downside: super super small gym (basically for 1 person, but 4 were allowed) + the distance to the city center.

We stayed at The Jakarta Hotel for 2 nights in early April 2022 while attending an evening event at the Maritime Museum that is located 5 minutes away. The level of service and friendliness shown by all staff was exceptional. The design and layout of the hotel is different to any other that I have experienced which makes it both interesting and refreshing. The rooms are of a high quality but do include some design choices that are no to my personal taste. For example, a wardrobe that has the hanging rail at a right angle to the wall which makes accessing any hanging clothes other than those at the front extremely difficult, a bathroom that is open plan to the bedroom which means that there is no way of having a shower or wash while your partner is sleeping and basins that have no means of storing water (no plug). The service and food offered in both Westers Bakery and Cafe Jakarta is excellent.

I stayed one month ago. Room was clean and cozy. The bed was amazingly comfy. Before anything else, Indonesian food in this hotel was authentic! My Indonesian husband said “this is real” 😂😂 of course, customer service was great.

We could not fault this hotel. Very attentive staff and friendly, warm atmosphere. The facilities such as the pool and gym were amazing, the room was unreal! Breakfast everyday was good quality, best we've had at a hotel. Location was a bit further out of the centre which was great as there was no noise. Would really recommend this to any couple wanting to stay in Amsterdam!

It's quite a pretty hotel, the rooms are comfortable and functional, with all the amenities you can think of. Also, the staff is quite nice for the Netherlands. However I was really baffled to find out that their better rooms (or at least the one we were in) are located right next to the housekeeping closet, by the elevator. So every morning we were woken up by noise from people coming and going as well as the housekeepers. It's really a shame because our stay was overall quite nice, but the noise issues alone are worth 2 stars.

The stay at hotel Jakarta was such a great experience. Everything was on point. The service was great, food and drinks were delicious and the staff was super friendly and professional. And on the side the concept of the whole building is super interesting. 10/10 will come back for a longer trip!!

A lovely hotel with very photogenic theme and decorations. The hotel staff did expose some dirty little secrets (am I being interviewed by the police or kept hostage or is this the schizophrenia talking???) and we did have to wait for our room to be ready, but in the end it all went smoothly.

We loved our 3-night stay at the Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam. Our room (830) had beautiful views of the Ij river and a little balcony. The sleep quality was flawless - a silent room and a very comfortable, large bed. The shower was excellent and we had a bathtub too. We really enjoyed using both the gym and the pool. We visited the bakery which was excellent. We also had a sunset cocktail in the Malabar which had really comfortable chairs, stunning views and great drinks. The breakfast selection was superb - cooked breakfast items, granola and yoghurts, fresh fruit, pastries, juice and really good coffee. The hotel’s atrium is very beautiful - filled with tropical plants and the staff were lovely too. The hotel is a little bit out of the centre but we walked everywhere (or if you prefer there are nearby buses and trams.) Everything was clean, stylish and comfortable. We would absolutely love to stay here again!

This hotel ROCKS. Spent a week here. Great rooms and beds. Good drinks. Oh and the shower was Sweet. May not be the most convenient to getting around but it works. If you don’t mind walking this this is the best bang for your dollar. Staff was friendly and attentive. I will be back

This hotel is amazing, the entire aesthetic and vibe is so nice. I love the jungle plants in the main areas of the hotels and the rooms are just perfect! That staff are so lovely, we specifically found julien ( night receptionist ) to be so helpful and caring. Big shout out to him! Definitely recommend this hotel!!

My daughter treated me to a birthday getaway, and we stayed here. This hotel is gorgeous. The staff are so attentive and friendly, on my return from a day out I was greeted with a card from the hotel team and pastries in my room. The rooms were lush with a river view, the breakfast outstanding, and even the food in the evening. Have no complaints about this hotel. I would stay here again and I plan to in the summer.

What a beautiful hotel and great experience! The view from our room was amazing and the dining room is so alive with plants and interesting architecture. Will definitely stay here again. We didn’t go to the spa because of time but it looked top notch.

Had a really nice stay at this hotel in the capital of the Netherlands. Simply put it’s an amazing top quality hotel. From the warm reception, nice room, the wellness facilities, beautiful skybar and friendly staff. The beautiful greenery makes you feel as if you’ve submerged yourself in to the tropics. Definitely worth a visit and them some hundred more. Will definitely be coming back.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Jakarta! Everything was awesome and couldn’t have been better. From the beautiful decor, delicious food and drinks, awesome views, spacious cozy rooms, well equipped gym which has a heated pool and most importantly phenomenal customer service!

From architecture point of view, the interior does give us a great tropical ambience with the balance and clever placement of tropical vegetation in the internal courtyard. However, the spatial planning was quite restricted to walk from one place to another, and it felt a little cramped and confined. The weirdest part of the design is the location of the spa and pool, it was small and visible to the main corridor of the hotel at the ground level. It was to me, a little too exposed and lacking of the exclusiveness to the guest. And guests with robes, they will need to cross over in the public area to access the spa, that is truly unacceptable.
