What a gem of a hotel. Absolutely stunning entrance and lounge. Warm and cosy atmosphere. The rooms are clean and tidy. The bottles of water was a nice touch and replenished daily. Reception were very helpful and knowledgeable of places to eat and see. Lovely coming back to the place every evening.

It's a beautiful hotel. Impeccable location. We stayed there for 5 nights. You can walk to many places from the hotel and there's a tram stop really close by. The beds were very comfortable and the tub was big, very nice water pressure in the shower too. I did have some issues with the manager, we had a difficult communication, but honestly I think we were both just having a bad day. The rest of the staff said good things about him, and they were very nice to us, so I think he is a good guy after all and he takes good care of the hotel. I'd like to thank Gilberto for his hospitality and great service. He was very helpful and what a lovely personality! Thank you to all the staff.

Loved our stay. We picked cheap, but this felt very up market. A little rough around the edges in a few aspects, but the overall impression was of luxury at a stupidly low price. Trams just 10m walk away. Staff were excellent, breakfast was sumptuous, would be delighted to stay again.

Charming is the only way I can describe this place. Staff are committed to customer service whilst at the same time being relaxed and friendly. The breakfast buffet is fabulous. Location is in a lovely quiet part of town, a decent stride from the centre. Yes the hotel is a little old fashioned but for a change we found that refreshing!

We had a wonderful stay. It is near the museums, about a 15 minute walk to Rijksmuseum. Easy to catch a tram and close walking distance to restaurants. Quiet location. Wonderful staff...

Quirky, but slightly outdated hotel, with Theatre on site. The character and service were very good. Rooms were very nice, though, on the small side. The location was perfect for attending a conference at the Rai Amsterdam, with very good public transport connections.

Everthing was perfect. I admired the helpfulness and kindness of them. If I come to Amsterdam again, I won't look for anywhere else to stay :)

Bit out of town. Hard to get to airport. Very quiet, little atmosphere but beautiful hotel and location and interiors. Very comfortable.

A charming little hotel! There’s a lot of good things to say about this place: as many others have commented, it’s a little old fashioned but in all of the right ways. The rooms are very pleasant and comfortable and the staff are lovely. The lady at the reception was very charismatic and nice to talk to. The staff at the bar, although young, are very professional and know how to handle themselves. The bar itself is absolutely wonderful and has an excellent atmosphere, and the garden outside is very nice indeed. The hotel’s in a great part of town, surrounded by good places to eat and is an easy walk into the city. My only wish was that they had a better whisky selection at the bar (this was mentioned by a few other guests), but really there’s very little to complain about here. Would highly recommend!

A wonderful hotel not too far from the centre of Amsterdam. Generous rooms, fantastic staff and a delicious breakfast. This hotel has everything.

Really nice hotel in a uniquely quieter area in Amsterdam. Great, helpful staff and good value breakfast. If you’re looking for an especially quiet room, get one on the courtyard side. Bicycles for rent at the hotel were especially convenient. Highly recommend this place!

We‘ve stayed twice at this hotel and I‘d come back any time. It’s difficult to find a good value-for-money deal in a city like Amsterdam where hotels are just unreasonably pricey but Apollofirst is highly recommendable. The area around the hotel is lovely but not too busy, rooms are comfy and clean and they have a 24h reception. Just great there :-)

Beautiful boutique hotel in a quiet location. Easy check in/out and the staff was pleasant. We had a corner room that was very clean and spacious. Bathroom was spotless and the tub deep. Didn't have any issue with noise. Room has it's own thermostat so AC was not an issue when we stayed during the heat wave last summer. Room has it's own mini fridge and it's close to a grocery store and many restaurants. They have a convenient laundry service which the front desk staff was helpful explaining how it worked. Tram stop is right around the corner so you can get anywhere in Amsterdam pretty quick. About a 15-20 min walk to the Museumplein and Vondelpark. Absolutely would stay here again.

Excellent hotel! Close to city centre, but on a quiet and peaceful street with restaurants, a grocery store and tram stops a short walk away. The hotel lounge is charming, as are the breakfast room and patio. Staff are very attentive. The lobby also has lots of useful info and very helpful city maps

We stayed here for 3 nights in May and we very much enjoyed our visit. Located in a peaceful part of Amsterdam, you’re in walking distance to Vondelpark and the Van Gogh Museum. Rent a bike for convenience.

I am afraid the rooms are very small and the parting walls are so thin that you can hear 'everything' happening next doors. The staff was helpful, breakfast was decent and the location is pretty central.

To be clear, this rating was based on our reservation being canceled at virtually the last minute and I can't rate the actual hotel since we will never be staying there. I made reservations back in January, 2022. A schedule change with our cruise forced us to change our dates and I contacted them in early February to request a change. We had purchased at the flex rate, so we were able to change our dates without penalty until 24 hours prior. They never responded. I followed up again when finalizing the details of our trip (still over a month before our arrival) and was told that our requests had "slipped through the cracks as an accident" and they would not be able to accommodate us. Now, I'm scrambling to find a new room and I'm paying significantly more because of the hotel's "accident." They've done nothing to try to make it better. Beware that even if you book well in advance and pay more to have your room guaranteed, you can still be left scrambling for accommodations. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

This is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at! The service is on point. Super responsive and attentive for my fiancees birthday. The room were marvelously decorated as well as the lobby area downstairs and bar. There is a beautiful outside garden house and sitting area too. This hotel has a list of all the things they can provide you should you forget something. That alone speaks volume. I will most definitely come back here. The area so safe and secure with more than 1 uber driving saying this was the best part of town.

Most comfortable beds, even though small. Don't bother with the bathtub, its more of a tiny shower in size. Breakfast was superb, the view in the breakfast hall is serene. The service and food in general was top! Would go back any time. Great sphere throughout the entire hotel, staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and taken care of.

This hotel is GORGEOUS. I was surprised I was able to book three nights last minute and still got a room for a good price. The late night/early morning worker named Sam is very kind and attentive! I love the breakfasts in the morning and there’s an outdoor garden where you can eat and have some morning fresh air. The decor of the hotel is very classy and comfortable. The library is a place where one can sit quietly and have drinks... they offer free apples and water... my room was spotless everyday after o returned from exploring the city... I will most definitely be coming back here.

Booked hotel room for our Europe trip, however due to COVID-19 we were forced to cancel our booking. The staff at the hotel were very understanding and although they were not obligated to offer us a refund, they did. We are super impressed with this outcome and will definitely book again with this reputable hotel when travel bands lift.

A really wonderful little hotel with a very kind staff. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The only thing that brought the experience of the rooms down a bit was that sounds from the hallway carried a bit too well at night and we could hear doors slamming. Other than that it was great. The library/pub was a real treat, so cozy! The tram in to the city was really close as well. If I come back to Amsterdam I could totally stay here again.

😐 It is a large, somewhat impersonal, completely unshaded and extremely noisy campsite (we were in the tented section).Noisy because there is a large multi-lane bridge nearby, which is still very busy at night. Also noisy because of the "cigarette smokers". There are no rules and regulations - or if t...
