I met a friend here a few times. Very nice little hotel with modern rooms, great heat and nice views if you’re in the right direction. Tram stop #14 right out front - so very easy to get anywhere in the city. Close to the zoo too.

We booked 3 nights, but unfortunately web had to leave the second day. We were on our honeymoon and the room was not what web expected (photos are tricky). It was a basement, very small, no light and very dirty and humid. It was kind of our fault, It is not a place to stay in a honeymoon. If you're doing a backpack trip, you may like it, but avoid basement rooms. Too much noise, we couldn't sleep. And It got worse when we decided to leave and contact management. Only by email, and no response at all. The people working there were very kind, but they didn't have the ways to help us. Also, no refund at all, we're still trying to get the refund for the 2 nights we didn't enjoy and it's a nightmare. First time I post a 1 star review, but it ruined a day of our honeymoon.

Excellently situated hotel close to a tram stop, food, Artis Zoo, botanical gardens and museums. I had a superior twin room to myself. The room was a good size, it had a bath and shower that worked well. It had a TV coffee station and lots of storage for clothes. The room was fairly clean, well, at least the parts that mattered, the carpet and interior does seem a little "dated. The room had air con, which is a huge plus for me as it kept me cool at night without needing to open the window. The large double window easily opened all the way to reveal a direct view onto the street in front so you could take in the sounds and view. Especially when there's a storm. The stairs are very awkward and cramped. But I there is also a lift. I would stay here again. The only downside is the food situation, but there's plenty of cheap places nearby.

Solid place to stay, close to the centre without being to busy or loud when in room. Rooms air con was excellent on hot days. Great value for money, would definitely stay here again

Worst hotel I have ever been. 87 euro for a small room Arrival had to wait 15 minutes, Then I went in bath, the manager walked into my room. The room beneath me was leaking. No partial refund offer. There are much better hotels around this area, tropen hotel for example..

The location is amazing, the staff were very friendly and the room was faultlessly clean. The hotel is on the tram line, so if bring ear plugs and you will sleep wonderfully as we did.

This is a great hotel for those travelling on a budget. We had everything we needed for our stay, including a kettle, which a lot of European hotels don't have. The only things to note were that we arrived after check-in time and the housekeepers hadn't finished cleaning the hotel, so there was about an hour of waiting around to check-in. The spiral stairs are also narrow and steep, so unsuitable for those with mobility issues.

The hotel is located directly opposite the tram stop. The double room was big enough. You can eat breakfast in nearby cafes, one of which was located immediately across the road. Nearby a number of restaurants and cafes-bars. The city center is within walking distance, but you can also take a tram.

I stayed there for a week last fall and had a fine stay. My room was on the top floor with an A frame over the bed. It was small, but charming. No complaints at all. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. Perfectly cozy for my solo travel needs

Stayed last week in basic budget hotel so had low expectations. However got savaged by bed bugs and have nasty rash on my torso. Emailed hotel but no response so presumably don’t care. Shame as staff were nice and location good. Stayed room 2 in dungeon

Lovely hotel in a quieter area of Amsterdam. Friendly staff, very helpful reception, clean and comfortable rooms. The local area is much quieter than the centre, but within an easy walk to attractions. Opposite the zoo and close to other attractions. Lots of local eateries and a charming traditional bar next door.

It's a good place, at the reception there's a girl who speaks also Italian, so friendly, my room was on the 4th floor, there's an elevator, the room is clean, not big but not too small, good position, there's a tram stop in front of the hotel, perfect, there's also De Hortus very close and a coffeeshop, it's a nice place i advise it, the room was clean and the bed comfortable, lovely

Rooms are super clean and big enough. The room kas been cleand daily. The staff was super friendly and gave us some advices for the city. The location is amazing - the tram stop is just infront of the hotel entrance. The city center is on 10min walk, the Central railway station is on 15min walk and the Zoo is on 3min walk.

    - dirty rooms - maids didn’t give us small towels for hands (twice) - so expensive considering the quality - the room smelled like a cigarette all the time - also very cold in the room and the windows are not well isolated - it’s very noisy there you can hear the elevator and people from other rooms, also the noise from outside + kinda good location + close to the tram stop + 24 hours reception+ late check in

A nice place to spend a couple of nights. Not for a long stay. We had the top room which was very small and dingy. The bed and pillows were not great and gave me huge neck pain. The staff are very friendly and accomadating and the location is fab.

The bedding was not clean. The bed and the pillow were very uncomfortable. The windows are very old, it was very cold in the room. The walls are thin, you can hear everything. When we visited this place, the neighboring building was undergoing renovation, so there was a lot of noise in the morning. It was quite expensive for what we got.

A great no frills hotel just west of central Amsterdam. Having a tram stop just outside was ideal for traveling to and from the train station. This is located in a quiet, residential area near the botanical gardens. Good access to shops, restaurants, bars, café and koffieshop. I got the twin bed with bath and it was as described on the website. Dust-free, clean towels and linen. Can confirm staying in November meant I didn't experience any bedbugs like the other reviews mentioned. If you're after a bed to crash at the end of the day, this is the place! Having working heating was a big plus as it got chilly in the evening. Knocked a star off as the shower curtain tension rod kept falling down, but not a deal-breaker. Overall, it's of similar quality to what you get in a central London budget hotel, with much nicer locals.

We've been waiting at the reception for over 20 minutes by now. Even if the room turns out ok, I'll make sure to never come back and will warn everyone I know against the customer service at this hotel. There is a sign saying "back in a few minutes". You wish! And yes, we've tried calling, nobody picks up. Upd: it was almost an hour wait.

Bed bugs!!!!! I stayed here on May 10 in a room on the 3rd floor and there were bed bugs. Unfortunately, as I only stayed there one night and checked out in a hurry the next morning, I didn't have time to search for the bugs myself after recognizing that I'd been bitten all over my chest, arms, and upper legs and even face. I wish I had. When I reported it to the hotel, they told me they had checked the room but that as the mattresses were new ish and they had talked to the cleaning staff, and no one had seen any, there was nothing they could do. They questioned whether I'd stayed in another hotel (no) and implied that I must be wrong - and even told me that I could "check their reviews" as nothing like this had ever been reported before. Well, now you can check this review and decide if you would like to stay in a place that doesn't take the health or comfort of its guests seriously. Gross.

Reasonable price, small rooms but clean and comfortable. Nice staff, quiet. Walking distance to centre. Our room had air conditioning and cable TV

Don't really understand bad ratings. Rooms are small but clean and cosy, location is perfect, tram stop directly at the hotel, metro stop a few minutes away.. Lovely area with lots of bars around, supermarket, pharmacy and a coffeshop within a few minutes. Friendly staff and pretty cheap. Considering the amount of money you are spending you cam't ask for more. Enjoyed it.

😐 It is a large, somewhat impersonal, completely unshaded and extremely noisy campsite (we were in the tented section).Noisy because there is a large multi-lane bridge nearby, which is still very busy at night. Also noisy because of the "cigarette smokers". There are no rules and regulations - or if t...
