Short wait to get in, very long wait to get a server. Long enough for people to eat their entire meal as you watched it get served as you sat down. The noodles themselves are good, the toppings with them were cold, and not just one, but all of them the egg, the bamboo. It's a Friday night, its late, it's busy, but I think they need to step up their game and make sure they are serving the quality I see in these other reviews (which lead me here)

most awesome Asian restaurant I've been to yet! Incredible service, speak English fluently by multiple workers! Beautiful waiter that served me and everyone else kindly and with a smile always, food was incredible and delicious and the sit and place around the city was perfect, so glad I came there, didn't finish cause my belly couldn't so happily took it to takeaway! πŸ’•πŸ’• would definitely go there again

This place is in a basement, but the restaurant is fairly clean. The ramen we had was a 4/5, and we really like that they had hojicha here. Waitstaff did their job. Only downfall was the bathroom - and I made the mistake of going after such a nice meal, it soured my perspective of the place. Not sure I would return unfortunately.

Although the food and fresh tea was nice, it took a while before they took our order and our drinks. Felt a bit like the waiters forgot us, however it looked more like the standard than the exception. However once they took our order the food almost came instantaneous! Still definitely recommend the place and location wise feels like A hidden gem

Great service, great ambience. This was our first Japanese food experience in Amsterdam. Had to wait for a bit to get seated since it was a busy night (5-10 minutes) but as soon as we were seated, we got promptly attended to, and got our orders taken. Plus points to our server for offering tap water as an option. The ramen (I had the hataka miso ramen) was too salty for my taste. And when we gave feedback to our server they did inform us that there is an option to request for less salt for next time. Also ordered karaage and shrimp tempura, those were good. Just ask questions if you have any concerns before ordering, staff is really helpful.

Visited Ramen-Ya and had a decent experience. Ambiance casual, service okay. It's a reasonable choice for a bowl of ramen, but don't expect anything extraordinary. Rated 3.5.

We thoroughly enjoyed our ramen here in this underground restaurant. It was very fresh and flavorful. They make their noodles in house. Excellent.

I am a frequent visitor to this ramen restaurant and have tried all the ramen on the menu. I especially liked the sesame chicken ramen, so every time I visited the restaurant during the year, I ordered exactly this ramen, creamy broth is something that I really appreciate in it. But today, instead of rich soup, I got diluted water! I was very upset, but the waitress offered to replace it with another item on the menu. So eventually I ate, but still have to go to McDonald's to get some fast calories :( To the OWNER/MANAGER, pay attention to the preparation of ramen and compliance with what is written on the menu. I don't know if I can find better ramen than what you make, so if it's not good I'll be heartbroken. Added a picture of failed ramen. REVISIT: even worse... not going to this place anymore

Very good ramen, lots of choices and authentic Japanese taste. Great and fast service, we got a tabby for 3 without a reservation on Thursday night. I liked Kimchi ramen the best out of the 3 we ordered.

A big Japanese Ramen restaurant in the middle of Amsterdam. The broths of the Ramen are super tasty! They offer several snacks (such as bao for instance), and they serve mochi ice cream too! Please note: they are located in the basement, which can be entered by stairs only.

We booked a place for 20:00 and we were seated only at 20:20, a waiter approached us at 20:45. It is felt that the restaurant is collapsing due to a lack of manpower and as a result the service was not good, and the restaurant looks dirty and untidy. The ramen was excellent and delicious.

This is a good little ramen place, I would have to rate it 3.5stars but gave it the 4 here to help out. Service and atmosphere is nice but the ramen was just a little disappointing. It could just be it's not to my taste but this just lacked any punchy flavour. Little disappointing but not bad.

We had a really nice dinner at Ramen-Ya and the food was delicious! We went on a Thursday evening and even though we had a reservation, you could easily find a spot without it. However, this might not be true for the weekend. The atmosphere was nice and the service was quite fast. Besides the ramen and bao buns that were exceptional, we also really enjoyed the tea pots we ordered πŸ«– Overall, we would definitely be going back for more! 🍜

Best ramen I’ve ever had. I got the veggie ramen with cherry tomatoes and thyme and it was unreal. The cup of tea came in a generous portion and the service was extremely quick, helpful and kind. Got the classic mochi for dessert and I S2G, I’ve never had any mochi like it. Bless your souls.

For how highly rated this place is I came in with somewhat high expectations, but the ramen was not particularly great. Tried the Hakata Miso, the whole thing tasted like tare, with no broth, and it was the saltiest thing I’ve tasted in a long time. The interior of the restaurant is really nice though, a clean modern japanese themed lounge kind of look.

The service was fast and pleasant. We had the ramens, and I have to say they were some of the best we've had. The pork was perfect, and they even achieved to make us it the bamboo which, let's be honest, is usually what everyone puts aside. The mochi we had as desert was delicious. The price is very reasonable!

Tasty pork broth and fresh noddles, you can really tell the difference when it’s a good one!! Delicious! Make sure to order the home made chilly oil for the spicy lovers! ;)

I've been here a few times and the experience is always good. You have to go down some stairs to access it underground. It's not big but it is cozy. My go to dish is the "Hakata Deluxe Miso" which is a delicious ramen with a thick and well seasoned broth. The pork is very well cooked and all the ingredients go really well together. The staff is friendly.

The chicken sesame ramen was really good. The veggie ramen was a bit under spiced, we had to ask for salt and use the spices on table to add flavor. The chicken buns were amazing. Homemade ice tea was nothing special at all, i tasted better. Overall the meal was nice and the staff were very friendly.

It used to be better like 2 years ago. Perhaps because of COVID-19, did they had to reduce in supplies or staff? I don't know but it used to be better. Owh the taste used to be awesome. The broth unbelievable!!!!!. But all hangs on the topping to give it a great taste. And now the Pork was too much roasted. It made the ramen-ya bitter. It was kinda busy but your dish should not taste like that. It used to be amazing!! Two stars because the waitering is always nice!

Located in the touristic region of Amsterdam, next to the canal, easy to find. If you are a tourist and looking for a simple meal, then yes, it's an option. However, if you are a fan of ramen, you will be disappointed, especially when there are plenty of ramen restaurants in Amsterdam way better. The service is friendly, but it's really dark down there.

We felt a bit forgotten by the waiters when we were waiting for our orders to be taken. To be fair it was very busy. Otherwise amazing ramen, great home made ice tea, very kind staff. Lightning food delivery, it came to our table in less than 4 minutes!!! Would go again.

Located in the basement with no sunlight ,but it gives a nice atmosphere. The menu is really small. I wasn't really happy with my food, it was tasteless with no seasoning at all and the chicken was really dry. The couple next to us was complaining that broth was too greasy and I agree with that. White sweet wine was really nice πŸ™‚

Incredible. You simply have to try it to know. I had the creamy sesame chicken ramen and my BF had the spicier dish. Drinks are tiny portions For the prices but the food more than makes up for it. πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

We discovered this place while trying to have ramen in the heart of Amsterdam. It turned out to be a restaurant with great ambiance, friendly staff and their ramen is absolutely delicious. The dishes were ready pretty fast and the portions were much bigger than expected. They have around 6 types of ramen, with different types of meat but also vegetarian friendly options. Their tea is also nice and the pots that are served are bigger than the average size. We were also surprised to the place fully booked and a lot of internationals enjoying their dishes! Delicious and totally recommending it!

The most delicious ramen in Amsterdam (or probably in the Netherlands). The char siu and menma are so perfect and they complement each other, the noodle has perfect texture and flavor, the broth is tasty, thick, and creamy.

The ramen is very tasty!! Service was somewhat slow. I really enjoyed my tonkotsu ramen but the noodles smelled distinctly like ammonia (I read it happens because they need to change the water they cook their noodles in more often but I’m not a Chef of course), whatever reason, that’s why I’m taking one star off. Good ambiance. (In the pic below is my friend eating a chicken sesame ramen)

This hit the spot since I was craving ramen for a few days. The broth and fresh noodles were great but the bamboo shoots were a bit sweet for my taste maybe not so soaked in the broth beforehand πŸ˜‡ but otherwise really good if you’re looking for good broth esp w colder weather. Quite busy but I got lucky and walked in alone and got a table right away at around 8

Tasty ramen and the food was good enough in quality but just had a few bits missing for me, no fishcake, not loads of vegetables and I went spicy but it was very mild compared with other places. Still tasty food and worth a visit. Very friendly staff.

Kind service and great food but the AC is terrible. We had pork belly buns which were delicious. The sesame chicken raman and pork Raman were great but the place was too warm to enjoy the soup. We couldn't finish the food, had to get out.

  • 3/5 Alexandra Y. 1 year ago on Google
Vegetarian ramen was spicy whereas chicken ramen was mild. This was surprising so we’ve had to switch plates. There are no signs on the menu of some positions are spicier than others. There is no AC. The fan was turned on but it didn’t help much. And since the restaurant is located in the basement, there are no windows so seems like there is no option to fix the issue. Portions are big but it’s mostly noodles and not even much broth. There is no baby chair.
