DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL! Room was not cleaned enough. When went to talk about, staff started to argue. Later we went together with staff to check the room. They had made some quick fixes, but sheets and towels still not fresh, lightly stained and not smelling nice. Offered to change sheets but never happened.

Worst hotel experience I have ever had. The place smelled so bad! I could barely sleep in my room. My room was so small you had to slide into the bed literally like a worm as it was between two walls. Bugs were seen on my beg. My towels had dirt stains on them! The Aircon barely worked. I feel like I was literally robbed as the cost was so high for the complete garbage of an hotel. Really bad. If you want a terrible experience then definitely head here. Shocking.

Husband booked through hotel rewards website. Photos and description looked okay and price while cheaper than other options (Ā£100 a night), so we werenā€™t expecting the ritz, we at least expected what we paid for through the booking website. To say it didnā€™t meet the basic description or the photos used is as understatement. You have to check in at the neighbouring hotel blossoms. The actual entrance to this hotel looks like the entrance to a halfway house. On our second night we saw a rodent in the foyer which we reported to the sister hotel reception. The carpets are stained and itā€™s generally filthy. The hotel made us pay a ā‚¬50 deposit for damages which in hindsight was hilarious given the general state of the room. Onto our room. Very small with radiator not attached to wall it just sits on the floor. No drink making facilities (we were sold that there was) and actually we were told no drinks allowed in the room. Not even a coffee?! The linen looked okay on the whole as did the towels but the double Bed was in two halves with a topper and they don't stay together so drift about. I had to remake the bed each morning as we were falling down the gap. The hotel did not remake the bed or sheets once over the 3 nights The curtains do not draw to close and cover all the windows I had to use hair clips to get them to stay shut over the windows and stay in place while we slept or got changed but there was still large gaps which let in light from the traffic below. The window did not shut properly so it Let in road noise and the cold so slept really poorly. The toilet was filthy I donā€™t even want to describe the side of it. It was clean apart from one side near the shower. Otherwise room mostly clean enough but certainly not spotless. The bed was against the wall and the pillow on the wall side was directly up against a hole in the wall with raw wires. The hair dryer in the room didnā€™t work so we had to ask for one from reception. The hotel did not refresh our room once or provide clean towels or new loo rolls. Again we had to go and ask and carry them back ourselves down the road. While this could be the standard for a hostel it is unacceptable for a hotel charging what we paid a night thru the website we used especially when I later found it in Google for Ā£38 a night. Husband has learnt to always check reviews outside of the booking forum before proceeding with a booking and we are also going to complain directly to the vendor as well. We wanted to leave and find a new hotel but decided due to the unlikelihood of not getting our money back to instead spend as little time there than absolutely necessary and enjoy our weekend away from this hell hole.

Unfortunately, despite being in a brilliant location and having very friendly reception staff, this is absolutely a hotel to avoid. Our room was disgusting to stay in: it had a horrendous sewage-like smell coming from (we think) the shower. 2 litres of bleach still couldnā€™t disguise the smell, and it only got worse of the aircon was turned off for more than 30 mins. The room itself was tiny, with the bed crammed into a small corner you had to crawl to get into. It had a window, but no sunlight as the view was a concrete wall. There were spiderwebs hanging above the bed, the sheets were unclean and the carpeted floor was also very dirty. The integrated hairdryer didnā€™t work, but luckily the reception staff had a spare. Regardless of any other flaws, it would have been sufficient for a couple of nights if it was not for the horrendous smell - we are just glad we didnā€™t stay for longer. Once again, reception staff were lovely, but the service mark is dropped as the third-party cleaners they use clearly do not do a great job, and the owners of the building need to get a plumber in ASAP to fix the smell. It is embarrassing to let people pay a decent enough amount in return for these conditions. Do not at all recommend. Please avoid for your own sake. Probably a health hazard to stay for more than a couple of nights.

This hotel was an absolute nightmare. The worst place i've ever stayed! The room had no windows and obviously no natural light, the bathroom was disgusting, flooding every day. First of all, the hotel doesnā€™t have a receptionā€”you have to go up the road. The receptionists were very rude and unengaged. They required a ā‚¬50 deposit in cash that they insecurely store on a book that sits on the open desk. The hotelā€™s front door doesnā€™t close properly so anyone can waltz into the space. There is no room servuce there is no service at all. Do not go to this hotel, at all!

The room itself smelt completely horrificā€”it smelt like a public toilet had babies with a bin. Our room was on the ground floor facing the street. It was so loud and hooligans were banging in the window in the night. The room was filthy, the floor was stained and there was crumbs everywhere. Our sheets not only didnā€™t cover the bed (were too small), they also had holes in them. The towels also had holes in them. We paid lots of money to stay there. We feel completely robbed.

In a word: horrific. The room smelled like a dirty public toilet. We got sprung with a surprise 50ā‚¬ ā€˜depositā€™ on arrival, despite having paid in full in advance. There were holes in the towels and bedsheets. Security was virtually non-existent. The room faced directly onto a loud, busy street. The bathroom filled with water whenever the shower was used. No aircon. Blanket only covered half of the bed. The receptionist who checked us in could not have been more disinterested. Extortionately priced given the quality. The minimum 1-star rating for this review even feels too generous.

We were very disappointed by the Aston City Hotel. The room was barely big enough to move around in. Only 2 small beds. Bathroom was tiny as well. Moldy smell. No AC. Right in the middle of Amsterdam, on one of the noisiest streets. Wi-Fi was terrible as well. We requested a different room, but they did not give us one. They also did not give us a refund, so we had to leave. Make sure you know what you're getting into if you stay here!

Bad small in the bathroom, it was awful, we bought ourselves an air freshener spray, to be able to bear being in the room Bed was terrible, they put two mattress together, I requested a double bed, in the middle of the night the mattress open. The cleanliness was horrible, I will never be there again, doesn't matter the price

The room was so dark, dirty and small, even for two people. It was like a kid's room, 0 space. The shower was soaking all the floor everytime one of us take a shower, so it was very unconfortable. There was no furniture, so we didn't had a properly storage to keep our clothes and things. There was no service room, so they didn't change our towels or did our bed "because covid politics". If we wanted new towels we should pay like 7ā‚¬ extra. The hotel was in a very bad condition, the street door was always open (didn't close so everyone could enter in the building). I didn't feel safe or comfy at all, but we didn't have any problem beside this.

The rooms are tiny and the towels are not good. The service staff are really nice and helpful. But, the location is awesome and it's fairly cheap so you get what you pay for. No AC though so beware in the summer.

If you want to sleep like a pig, in filth and dirt with the constant fear you will be butchered before sunrise, then this is the hotel for you! Our first room had stains and hair all over the bed and rubbish underneath so we asked to switch (the staff member at this time was very kind!) Second room was equally filthy with a disgusting stained ceiling and a hairdryer that nearly blew up in our hands. How ever this room was "even better" as we had air con! But had to go to another hotel to get the singular remote. The entire place is stained, filthy and the whole atmosphere felt unsafe. Especially with no reception except located in a seperate hotel down the road. Really enjoyed our multiple trips in the rain to speak with the desk. We had to pay immediately to stop elsewhere (shout out to ibis styles just down the road! Legends) We DID get our deposit (ā‚¬50 surprise on the door!) back, as well as the city tax. How ever we haven't received any support or much information for a refund for the stay. When we were complaining, the staff on the desk were dead silent, no apology, they know how bad it is. Make your whole trip easier and do not even book here.

Stayed here for 4 nights together with my father (24-28 august) The cleaning was not good, and the standard is bad. The drain is full so the water was all over the floor, and changing of towels never happened. Btw, they even has bed bugs so now we have a lot of bitesā€¦ Only positive is that itā€™s close to the city center (~10-15min walk), and also next to the brewery!

Easily THE WORST decision we made on this trip was to stay here. It's dingy with no service at all. The linen came across as clean, but as soon as I opened the duvet, some sort of large bug scurried under the pillow where I managed to squish it. The bathroom also came across as clean, but there was a few stray, really long black hairs on the wall in the shower. yum. The room smelt like mold and dust, to the point where we would wake up in the morning and try get out as fast as possible just so we could breath. We had to walk down the road at midnight to a neighboring hotel to get a remote for the aircon just to get a decent temperature in our windowless room. Stay here if you want a respiratory infection for almost ā‚¬200 a night!

I went to stay there but room i booked for family room of five, it was on 5 floor no ac no elevator. place was so smelly and dirty. Looks like they sell drugs. When i said i cant stay in hot. They said we can refund you only city tax and tourist tax, but for room price expedia can refund you. Now when i checked with expedia, they said property refused to refund. We didnt even stayed there. This is very unprofessional and rude. They are stealing tourists money and building bad image of the local Amsterdam people. The manager looked like chinese who is no way local. They should refund my full money. I would never recommend anyone this drug dealer place to live.

The worst hotel Ive been in, they apparently were refurbishing the hotel, the ā€œreceptionā€ was full of tools and they allocated me into the 4th floor and the hotel has no left . We had a very long flight so we arrived around 4 to have some rest, the builders started working in hammers and drills loudly so we couldnā€™t sleep. The sheets and covers were so old , riven and dirty. Never recommend anyone to book it.

Complete Scam they took ā‚¬ 541 and would not give us a room This is is by far the WORST hotel experience i have ever had. I had booked this hotel months ago. On the evening of when I was to check in, our flight was delayed and then cancelled. We scrambled and were able to arrive the next day. The hotel has no email to contact them. We weren't from the Netherlands so couldn't reach their number. When we arrived the manager refused to accept us for our remaining 3 night stay. They took all our money for all the nights and refused to let us in, despite having spare and free rooms. In the end, they took all our money and kicked us out, because we didnt arrive the first night due to a flight cancellation that was completely out of our control. I would highly recommend staying away from a place like this. You never know what happens when you travel and to not have any empathy and understanding for situations out side of someones control is despicable.

It's a decent place. Small, super small rooms. But if all you need is a clean place to sleep and don't really plan on spending time in the room. Pros: clean, location. Cons: super small, walls are super thin

Cob webs in the corners, mould In the bathroom, can see previous leaks In the ceiling, broken door frame, stained mattresses and so on... They did not put any bed sheets down, but duvet covers down as a bed sheet... A duvet cover is not as wide as a bedsheet, so you turn and the duvet comes off and exposes stained mattresses.. everyone one was badly stained. Tbh it's bad even for a hostel, no way would I call it a hotel. Room 100, stayed Oct 23

Have booked for ONE night, and need to cancel. The booking was FIVE months in advance - for July, booked in February. ZERO refund - they have taken the entire booking $$ - paid in full. This is like THEFT - they will just re-book the room. Yes, my own fault for not checking the terms & conditions. BUT - you should be able to cancel - and get a partial refund, at least. DO NOT BOOK HERE.

Dirty carpet floor, no hand towel, no bath mat (therefore a flood in the bathroom). Shower towel with holes. Broken curtain. Unfriendly staff. What else? Smell of smoke everywhere. Only good point is central location. I do not recommend at all. At such a price, this is a shame.

This was the cheapest place we could find within a reasonable distance to town, for New Year's Eve, and well-located just metres from the Heineken Experience. Basically it's fine for sleeping, but would benefit from some improvements. Our room was very noisy, and you could hear everyone coming and going. Room also quite smelly, which is probably caused by the shower flooding the shower room every time you use it. To its credit, our en-suite was modern, with plenty of hot water. Unhelpfully the cleaner comes in each day, takes the wet towels from the radiator, and folds them on the bed, meaning your towels are guaranteed to stay wet all day. Room very small, but this is reflected in the price. Note you must check-in down the street (very close) at Blossoms Hotel.

After reading other reviews on this joint I realized we did not get the worst room in this dungeon of a place they call the "As on". The T is missing on their moniker outside. I would be ashamed to work for this hole of an establishment they call a "Hotel". I'd rather sleep in the park on a bench than in this place again. You have been warned. It's a dump and requires a very serious upgrade. Spend your money elsewhere.

Best hotel Iā€™ve stayed at in Amsterdam. Stayed for a night with gf. Beds were separate, which I imagine comes in handy when things get heated. We pushed the beds together and placed bets who would fall in the middle while sleeping. Neither of us fell. We had minimal amount of toilet paper, which did cancel some of our plans though. Didnā€™t have to worry about the neighbors and their doings, since we could hear it all easily. Read about bedbugs in some of the reviews, but was left dissapointed since the only bitemarks I could find were from my gf. The TV had Disney XD and MTV, which was amazing, since our country only has AloTV. P.S This was the first hotel Iā€™ve stayed at in Amsterdam.

I was afraid of the hotel after reading the reviews here on google, so I had a very pleasent surprise to see that it was what I expected before reading them. It's clean (not the cleanest ever, but still clean), it's cozy, and comfortable, and the most important: it's cheap and very well located. Do not expect luxury, because you aint paying for it. But beware, they DO NOT have a lift.

Lovely and clean room with a good shower, basic but great for the price, surrounded by lovely restaurants and cafes, not a bad walk in to the centre as itā€™s lovely to walk and explore the area

This is a very generous three-star rating. Be aware that you will be charged a 50 euro fee upon arrival. The rooms are not the cleanest. We were lucky enough to be in a position to room with large windows and a lot a natural light. However, the hotel is located in a great place! We where able to walk to a lot of the places we wanted to visit sit. Its near the metro station and the trams. So if you're looking for a cheap place to sleep with okay cleanliness, and a great location - this could be it!

Fairly basic accommodation. Tv, shower, toilet, vending machine double bed even though it was 2 singles pushed together. The hair dryer didn't work, and it was like there was a curtain missing. In our room, we had to cover the window/door with clothes to block the sunlight. Fairly good location 20 min walk to central Amsterdam. No parking. If you are driving, try using parkbee.

I was expecting something horrible since I read so many bad reviews. You basically get what you pay for. Rooms are small and so is bathroom but overall it was good. Reception was 24/7 and was super helpful.

Very, very bad hotel. I can highly recommend not staying here. Room is a musty box with stained walls and floors. Building is open for anyone to walk in. It has a 'abandoned world war 2 hospital' vibe.

The hotel is located nearby to metro Station making easy access to Amsterdam Centraal. Availability of Turkish food points by the very next street is an additional benefit to it. However, there is jo lift & rooms are too smaller to accommodate a good number of people. No welcome drink or breakfast is served.

The most disgusting hotel room Iā€™ve ever been!!! We stayed there for 4 nights. Weā€™ve seen the negative ratings but weā€™ve thought ā€œhow bad can it be?ā€ A big mistake. First of all the entrance doesnā€™t look like there is a hotel. Parts are damaged other parts were fixed with tape. Our room was directly next to the entrance. Our windows pointed at the street. When you enter the room it stinks so badly, that I thought something died there. But you cannot open the windows either, because in front of your room is a meeting point for people how smoke and all the cars. Then our bed. The mattress, the blanked, the pillows everything has weird stains on it (s. pictures). I felt so disgusted and unwell, that I wanna leave at the first night. I didnā€™t expect to much of a hotel room. But I expected a clean room at least. I would give negative stars if I could.
