We went there with my family and friends. The vibe of the restaurant is classy, nice and clean. The stuffs are extremely kind & polite . Decoration is well set it up but we found the food taste is pathetic. Found a peculiar smells in the food. It wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't amazing. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by a long wait for the main course, which left us feeling frustrated and impatient. The service was good, even with it being quite busy for a weekday. It is very much pricey as well. It was dining with exorbitant prices and very tasteless and unauthentic Indian food. Only Tandoor items was good. Other items were not authentic worthy, curries was not really authentic and there was no flavours of Indian spices .. overall, not happy with whole experience. Although the owner did ask while billing how was the experience but did not bother to say much apart from a ok as initial individual dish feedbacks were not taken seriously and also spice requirements were not at all taken in consideration. For a non-Indian person this can well suit them as they might not aware of what an authentic Indian cuisine is. Location is Good, however I will not recommend this restaurant to the Indians who really like the authentic Indian food. It’s totally waste time and money in the name of a fine dining experience.

I found the food to be average. It wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't amazing. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by a long wait for the main course, which left us feeling frustrated and impatient. Additionally, the fact that we weren't given the opportunity to choose our own dishes was disappointing. Instead, the restaurant chose/set the menu for us, which left us feeling somewhat powerless and confused. One aspect of the restaurant that I did appreciate was the Thali concept, which offered a variety of cuisines to choose from. However, I was disappointed to discover that refills were not available for any of the dishes, aside from the breads. This meant that if I particularly enjoyed one of the five cuisines on offer, I would have to order it again separately. While I would have liked to rate this restaurant higher, I have had better experiences elsewhere. Ultimately, I believe that restaurant experiences are relative, and this particular visit did not stand out as exceptional except that they are since the 80’s.

We were on a bachelor trip in Amsterdam and found this restaurant there. We were over 10 person and we all ordered at the same time. And everyone got his food and noone has to wait that long for the food. The food there were very delicious and the staff were very friendly and professional. Well the prices there are not the cheapest but still ok.

We went on a weekday, I got a mango juice, vegetable biryani that comes with raita sauce and then we got some ice cream. The vibe of the restaurant is classy, nice and clean. The service was good, even with it being quite busy for a weekday. It is a bit pricey, naan is doesn’t come as complementary for main dish.

Wow ! The best Indian restaurant in the town. I have tried the mix of the started considering of lamb, chicken, shrimp & veal meat. Main was mix of all dishes. Chicken butter, lamb, spinach with a cheese , rice, salad .. All is so delicious, not Indian spicy 🌶… stuff is extremely kind & polite . Decoration is well set it up. It should be one start Michelin restaurant! I am keeping coming back to the restaurant! Thank you 🙏

Came here with my colleagues for a business dinner and we had a great evening. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful decor and delicious food. They offer some very tasty cocktails and wines. I can definitely recommend the shared dining menu which will give you a variety of different dishes! 💫

Atmosphere: fancy restaurant Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Drinks: 4.5/5 Value for money: 5/5 Walking distance from Leidsplein, very nice and elegant restaurant, good service and very nice options both a la carte and fixed menu. Se went for the menu, that offers the chance of trying 8 different dishes with all the most interesting options from the menu, plus rice, naan and garlic naan. Very interesting for those who like me are always attracted by the chance of trying more stuff. Around 45 euro the menu, so overall 50 euro with a beer. Very great choice, super tasty and absolutely a place to come back to!

Exceptional dinning experience! The food was incredible and the atmosphere of the restaurant made for a wonderful evening! We were a family of five and were treated by amazing staff to their group dining menu of mixed starters, a mix of wonderful curries with all the trimmings and a desert! We would highly recommend and most definitely go back ourselves when next in Amsterdam!

It was a dinner visit to Mayur we went in were given seat almost right away we walked in with no reservations . We got a beautiful table in the middle of restaurant . Comfortable seating tables were cleaned we got amazing cocktails to start the order I got the tequila Madre and my friend got old fashioned . Amazing cocktails they r a bit pricy but it was worth it amazing to taste. We then went through a menu and decided to try their whole non vegetarian we friend everything on the menu all the curries and chicken starter platters . Curry’s for me were okay they could definitely do a lot better curries for the price they charge . It was an expensive bill and food wasn’t fully satisfying nor was the service there was way too much delay in the food dessert was overly late to the Kate after our dinner was finished . Kulfi we got for dessert was over frozen wasn’t the best flavor either Wasn’t creamy .

Went here last night for a last minute curry, absolutely stunning we had the set meal for 1 which was €48 each and it was cracking value and also you get to taste all the different curries which I loved . Start was a mixed grill , tikka chicken wing, madras chicken, chicken spiced and a curried king prawn with a yogurt mint . Mains was rice, garlic Nan, chicken tikka, bOMBAY aloo, lamb madras, butter chicken, chicken biriyani and paneer and spinach aloo. Dessert mango lassi Epic!!!

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. The cocktails and mocktails were delicious. The food was off the charts. It’s be some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had outside of India. The lamb appetizer is a must. The service is slow, but it’s because they make everything fresh. Including the chai tea for their chai mocktail. Everything is worth the wait.

If you want to try some fantastic Indian food, this is your place. Tasteful dishes, spices all over the place, kind service and beautiful relaxing atmosphere. You must visit and trust the owner’s recommendations. He is truly the best host.

Couldn't be any better! A Great fine dining experience, with cozy ambience and warm hospitality. Had assorted non-veg starter plate and non-veg thali, and everything was ridiculously tasty. My favourites would be saag panner, butter chicken, aloo matar, chicken tikka masala, and spicy lamb curry. A must try drink : Monk Teras (Hints of old monk)

A wonderful place. The service was kind and the food delicious. It's definitely on the premium side but worth the price.

Overall good for internationals, I guess not for Indians. Garlic naan and chicken chaat was good, but the main dishes - butter chicken and biriyani were not to our liking. Butter chicken was very sweet (despite mentioning we didn’t want it to be sweet) and trust me the chicken biryani was NOT at all biriyani!! Love the ambience. It’s little expensive compared to other indian restaraunt, but it’s fine dining experience so not a surprise.

This review is long overdue as I dined here in February on a family trip. I rarely take time to write lengthy reviews if any but, this restaurant deserves nothing short of 5 stars, not only did the food exceed my expectations but the customer service was chefs kiss ! My younger brother is a very picky eater, and usually likes to only have fries when we go out to eat but of course as an Indian restaurant it was no surprise that they did not have any fries ( we love Indian fine dining and know that almost always there are no fries ) The gentleman who I believe to have been the restaurant’s manager went above and beyond by having a colleague go to one of the nearby restaurants and purchase fries for my brother to have as we enjoyed our meal, this was without our request and I personally have never experienced such good service. The food also speaks for itself, do not hesitate to book and enjoy ! I would recommend this restaurant 10x over !

The butter chicken was too sweet, the dal was 🤮 and the service was extremely slow! Plus, the garlic nan was too garlicky it actually burnt my mouth and stomach 😅 their food is average and a bit overpriced!

Nice restaurant with good ambiance but the price is too high for straight-forward curry.

Food was ok, not bad. You're paying for atmosphere. I didn't like being forced to order cocktails and beers for 20-30 minutes before seeing the menu. That killed it for me. We were there to eat, not to stare at a cocktail menu for damn near half an hour. In a subtle sense forcing us to order cocktails before seeing a menu I found to be insulting. Some clueless young kid was serving us. Not savvy at all. This place has been declining in service for quite some time. Not my first negative dining experience. Many years ago it was far better. I keep giving it the benefit of the doubt and keep coming back disappointed. Far more tourists eat here than locals which is never a good sign. Price to value ratio is poor especially in regards to service quality which should be easy to fix. Today odds are 50/50 and declining on whether I'm going to have a pleasurable dining experience worth the money spent.

This is a nice restaurant. Lovely decor and the staff are attentive and friendly. The food is OK. The flavours were not particularly complex or wowing, but they weren't unappealing either. We started with cocktails and vegetable samosas. I had a mocktail, a ginger mojito (can't remember the name), and it was very sweet, and I had to wait until the ice melted to drink. My partner said the Old Fashioned he ordered was disappointing. The samosas were OK, crunchy on the outside, but the filling was bland in taste. For mains, we had a serving of Butter Chicken and Jumbo Prawn Curry with rice and Garlic Naan Bread. The chicken was tender, and the sauce was creamy, but again, the tangy buttery taste you would expect just didn't hit! The prawns were huge...(Yay) and there was enough of them to sort of make you feel OK about 33 euro 💶 price! I asked for spicy and that it was (in a good way), but I didn't taste those aromatic rich tantalising flavours coming through that you'd hope to experience in such a dish. ALL still enjoyable, just less exciting than expected. We also had two glasses of wine and a bottle of water to wash it down. We skipped dessert. We were just a but full. All came to 80 euro per head, including tips. It's not terribly expensive. Would I go back? I'm not sure, but it wouldn't be my very first choice. It's worth a try. Everyone has different tastes, so maybe you'll find it to be just fine!

The place has a nice atmosphere, feels cozy. The staff were very nice, however the food is not very saturated in taste. The fish tika is good. For the price doesn't live up to the taste but overall good.

It was the first time we tried Indian food and we definitely will have it again! The service was perfect. The owner and the service is very friendly and so attentive. The location is authentic and the open kitchen is very cool - the naan is incredible!! We’ll definitely come back again.

Amazing experience! Top-notch. The food was excellent, the cocktails were perfect and I loved that there were classics with a twist. But most importantly the service was un-matched to anything in the Amsterdam area. The manager took care of us personally, and we were 20 people, he combined the dishes for us and made sure that everyone was happy. The staff were so nice and kind, five out of five for this restaurant on every level- cannot reccmoned it more and will be coming back for sure.

Absolutely the best experience I've had at an Indian restaurant. The food was amazing. I had a coconut chicken curry that was a sweet Indian delicacy I'd never hoped for! Worth every extra penny. Service was wonderful. The host was magnanimous. The ambiance - low lights, candles and andante piano solos that don't draw attention to themselves.
