Do not buy any pets here. The rats were in absolutely appalling conditions. Rats need a MINIMUM of 72 x 44 x 36 cm cage, made of wire for climbing and ventilation. These rats were in a "cage" that was barely 10 x 20 x 10 cm and made of glass (which they can't climb, and with no other toys or sources of stimulation. None!). TWENTY CENTIMETRES. Rats have very sensitive respiratory tracts. In glass cages, the ammonia accumulates, damaging their airways. Rats bought from pet stores as these die within months. NEVER buy live animals from pet stores as these are mass bred and kept in horrible conditions. They aren't socialised with humans and might never get used to you. Always get pets from breeders that you have visited in person. And don't buy anything else from this store either, as you will be giving them money so they can continue to treat animals like this.

Horrible place. The staff was nice but the conditions that they kept their reptiles... No comment. The ball python had a terrarium that was way too small, and didn't even meet the minimum requirements. I know nobody cares about reptile life but I do, please do not buy here.

It has indeed a lot of selections. However when we were there one of the staff was rude. We waited in line to have a look on what they have then decide which one we're gonna buy. The staff asked what are we gonna get and we said we're gonna have a look first. He then replied it is not time for looking because it is busy time we better just go out if we will just look. We then asked even if we're gonna buy we're not allowed to have a look? His response is "then you better make sure you're gonna buy." We were both shocked. We have travelled for about an hour to be there and waited in line and that's the treatment we're gonna get in return? It is very disappointing.

A relatively small shop with friendly personnel. It helps if you already know something about aquaria. I got my yellow shrimps there and they are doing fine.

The first fish I bought here suffered from fin rot, I solved it. Second fish came with a parasite and I only found out when it transferred to my old fish which is now infected with ich. I took the new fish back and the rude man with long hair just shrugged and said “so what, it’s normal”. Sick fish isn’t normal! The nice lady at the counter gave me medicine as a replacement but I checked and the medicine expired in 2020, 2 years ago! She checked to give me another one and said all of the fish medicine expired in 2020! So they sell sick fish and expired products. I had to go to Pet’s Place where they are nicer and actually care for animals.

Great little shop and both guys working there were relaxed, and very patiently answered all my stupid questions. I accidentally have to take care of someone's 🐠🐠🐠🐠, and I didn't know anything about it. Now I feel like a pro.

Would give 0 stars if possible. The quality of life for some of the animals is absolutely horrifying. Do not buy animals here, or take care advice from them. Fish are seen as items that you can simply return "broken". For the reptiles small mammals and birds, tiny cages/ terrariums without any enrichment or things to do, often with dried out water bowls are the norm. Non social animals were kept together, some animals looked hurt from fights with each other or underweight, rats have very little if not no enrichment/ things to play with, despite being incredibly intelligent and requiring toys to stay happy and healthy. The hamsters as well as many other species had no hiding spots that they need to stay happy. They kept kingsnakes together, a species known to be cannibalistic. There was a young boa constrictor in an empty, tiny terrarium sniffing around in it's empty bowl trying to find water, presumably because it was kept in such dry conditions as a species commonly found in jungles. It was heartbreaking to watch. When I asked the present employee about it, he told me that they don't need water all the time, because he didn't constantly drink water either and that it's none of my business how he keeps his animals. He has absolutely no care for improving the vile conditions in the store, nor does anyone else involved in running it.

worst place ever. animals are kept in tiny tiny cages. the birds, rabbits and hamsters were stressed out because they are kept in tiny cages (at an older age). very sad to see. animals will most likely die not long after buying them because they are invested with sickness, bacteria and stress. DONT SUPPORT ANIMAL ABUSE(RS)!!!!

The owners are so kind and it’s a fun store to look around in. My son has small snakes so we go there to buy frozen pinky mice. They always have them in stock.

Been in the aquarium hobby for 20 years. Good quality fish, well kept, good variety of different fishes. I've also been working in pet shop and owned many amphibians and warm blooded pets: living conditions look good, hygiene is fairly high. Friendly staff helping you, they do a good job in making sure you walk out with a smile. I think this is my fave shop in Amsterdam and definitely in top10 of the ones i visited over the years

Great selection of fish, reptiles, amphibians and insects, and small rodents. The stock is constantly changing and they get some really unique critters in from time to time. There is also the usual supplies you'd expect for all of the different types of animals.

👍👍 Read up on a lot of coffee shops and decided on this place. We really enjoyed it. We got the pre rolled hashish which was perfect for us. Mellow and relaxing. Knowledgeable staff who can help you decide if you describe what you’re looking for. Nacho behind the bar made our day as well as some great...
