This is a genuine comment ( just in case he tries to make out its a false comment ). Oh and by the way please don't try to look for the lawn as it shows on the photos because there isn't one. I also cannot believe the check out time he stated of 11am ?? When everywhere else the check out is 12am or 1pm

I booked for a week and extended for another. Gitana is beautifully located in a calm part of town. Walking to the main square only takes a few minutes. Carlos, the owner, calls guests by first name the moment you walk in and I immediately felt welcome and at home. He sweeps the hostel grounds from leaves 3-4 times every day because "I'd like people to see how beautiful this time of year is here". Although it's a small place I made friends whom I spent time with both at Gitana and around bars and restaurants in Antigua. Carlos - thanks for everything!

A lovely place to stay in Antigua with a calm, colorful and luxuriant garden. This very well located hostel is clearly a very good option, for a quit reasonable price. You have to know that the Casa Gitana is nothing without Carlos, fully dedicated to his hostel. He will book, organise and supervise your excursions, and give you the best advices to make your stay as nice as possible. In short, I would recommend everyday this place to anyone who want to cross by Antigua Antoine and Hung

10/10 would recommend. Great location, clean, comfortable, and relaxing with good WiFi. Free coffee and purified water were available, too. Carlos was really helpful and his recommendations for food and sights were great. I loved Antigua and would absolutely stay at Casa Gitana again during a future visit.

Casa Gitana has been such a great experience for us. We arrived with our backpacks and were welcomed by Carlos. Seeing we were new with the neighborhood of Antigua, he took the time to show us sooo many good tips around town, with his homemade map of Antigua. He does understand not every tourist has the budget to pay excessive amounts for activities, and will tell you all the best places to go. The hostel has a very nice shared kitchen, warm showers, coffee in the morning, and more. Everything to feel at home. Would come back here anytime!

Carlos the manager is super helpful. It's a cheap but chill hostel, offering free towels, shower and toilets public and in the rooms. The place in it self is super warm with plants and flowers everywhere! I really recommend it, we booked the volcano de fuego trek from there and it was great!

Absolutely wonderful stay. Carlos, the owner, is one of the kindest and most hospital guys I've met during my time in Central America. He provides great information for anything you need and is always eager to make your stay that much more comfortable. Casa Gitana is located in the south of Antigua and is only a few minutes walk to the center. The rooms and facilities are also great. In some places in the hostel the wifi is a little spotty, but overall it works great as well. Overall a wonderful stay and would recommend anyone to stay at Casa Gitana!

Carlos was brilliant, and without his advice I would have wasted a lot of time and money trying to figure out the city myself. Rooms were clean and hostel had a nice quiet vibe.

You don't stay at Casa Gitana, but at Carlos's. This man is the place. He embodies everything that is good about humans and deserves much more credit for this. He made our stay in Guatemala that much easier, and will tell you where to go, where the good deals are, how to avoid getting scammed. He's that accommodating. He also offered a free night to us which was immensely generous. Hasta pronto Carlos, y muchas gracias!!

We stayed here for three nights and had very good stay. The hostel is clean and located in a quiet part of the city, but still close to everything. The host, Carlos, is amazing. He gave great recommendations and helped us with booking affordable tours.

The owner must be the most honest person I've met in my life. Lovely backpacker hostel with a nice courtyard and kitchen. Very quiet when I was there and well located.

If you like to stay next to the center of Antigua in a really nice, simple and relaxed place with the most nicest and attentive host - than Casa Gitana is the right place for you! The welcome at the reception was very friendly and warm. Carlos speaks really good English and explains you a lot about Antigua - especially about the local things, shops and restaurants and he is always there to answer any questions you may have. He organized us the trip to Acatenango and knew our names from the first moment we arrived. The Hostel is nice, simple and quiet. Towels are provided and the bathrooms are cleaned frequently. In the morning, there is always free tea and coffee and filtered water. There is also a well-equipped kitchen that you can use. There is a cosy seating area in the inner courtyard. The centre is only a few minutes' walk away and the rooms are quietly located in the backyard. It is a simple place and it‘s the opposite of anonymous because Carlos takes his time and always tries to fulfill your wishes. The price-performance ratio is great and Carlos is an incredibly nice and courteous host. We would recommend the hotel at any time! Thank you Carlos for the relaxing stay! Hope to come back soon.
