A classic clean city hostel with private shower in every room, wonderful staff and a outstanding location! Only things I can say is they should open up the roof and please review the design of some of the showers, stepping over the toilet is not a good option 😂 still the other 3 rooms i saw where not this funny 😂 and i hope one day you can invest in your kitchen I'll definitely stay again

We didn't have shampoo, soap, TV, but we didn't mind. I would have liked the room to be a little bit more spacious and to have a wardrobe. We didn't have parking included😔, but we found a private parking close to the Hostel with 12€ per day. We had AC, which was very important. Very good location, a little bit far from the city center if you walk, but it was fine, we walked 17 km in a day, cardio is good for health, anyway. 😂 For this price in Athens, it was acceptable.

Great reception desk team, pretty clean place and close to Victoria station. Definitely recommend if you are looking for an affordable hostel in downtown Athens. Just be wary that the area is somewhat considered unsafe, so keeping an eye to your belongings while around isn't a bad idea.

Been in the country for almost 2 months and stayed in 7 different hostels. I can honestly say Zorbas ranks #1 out of all of them. The A/C works wonderfully, the rooms and beds are comfortable, and there’s always a staff member awake if you need anything. They are very kind and helpful. Every other hostel I’ve stayed in has major drawbacks that keep me from feeling totally comfortable but not Zorbas. Pro tip: spend the extra few euros and upgrade to the 4 person room. Trust me on this. My first stay was in the 6-person room and you share the upstairs bathroom with a lot of other people (there’s more downstairs though) and there’s only one charging strip. The 4 person rooms have charging outlets by the beds, they’re cozier, and have a bathroom.

I stayed for 5 nights. Clean rooms. Small not very clean kitchen area. Nice and helpful staff. Laundry service over expectation. 100 m to metro which takes you to Monastariki in under 10 min, to Piraeus approx 30-40 min. 100 m to cafeteria with breakfast for €2-3. I recommend this hostel for those on a budget, very priceworthy 👍

I like this place. Rooms are clean, bed comfortable and sheets are fresh. People very helpful and sweet. Good price. It is quiet place and I had good sleep. The only issue was shower glass that was only on the one side of shower and it is impossible to shower without making wet everything around.

I really recommend this hostel! Everything was perfect. I was supposed to stay for five days, and I ended up staying for more than two weeks. The location and price are very good, not to mention the service with the super friendly and helpful receptionists! It's also great for meeting other travellers :)

Very friendly staff, rooms are clean, with fresh bed sheet. Toilets and shower rooms are fairly clean. I booked the wrong date, the hostel was full when they arrived. However this staff allowed me to use the common area. Kitchen and fridge are available, with pots and pans for you to cook your meal. Though there are a few expired food left in the fridge. Can be better by clearing the fridge weekly. Located next to a metro station, but it is fairly far from the Acropolis. You can walk to the Acropolis which takes about 40 minutes, about 2.5 km away. Alternatively you may take the metro for two stations.

This is one of the the best and my favourite places I have ever stayed in whilst traveling. The staff are super knowledgeable and 100% helpful in every thing you ask with detailed information on all topics and geographical information in Athens and Greece's vast places to visit, not to mention their sense of humer is next level and most of the days had me in stitches and they are a real pleasure to be around. I stayed here for quite some time whilst I visited some of the fabulous attractions in Greece and saw quite a lot of guests come and go... I must say that anyone whom has rated them less than 5 stars are just moaning complainers who are either trying to get a discount or just generally moaning buggers who are only happy when they are themselves moaning and complaining, we all know people like this. The cleaning staff are everyday doing a fantastic job keeping the standards exceptional even though some very lazy guests who I say have had a terrible upbringing and are very lazy and disrespectful where treating the hostel like a hotel in which they had paid hundreds of euros to be treated like royalty again we all know people like this Clean up after yourselves The price is set to be extremely competitive and is Impossible to beat for the level of service and cleanliness. The location is central to the metro and only a few steps away from supermarkets, kiosks and excellent places to find authentic Greek restaurants for eat in experiences or take away food. Even if you walk in to central Athens "which I recommend" it only takes 10 to 15 minuets and you pass hundreds of architectural wonders including museums, shops, markets, gardens & parks, and load of hidden relics dotted about the place. Zorbas really is the place to stay when you are in or passing through Athens and should be at the top your list of places to stay. Don't forget to be nice and evrything will go your way. No one wants a miserable, complaining, lazy awkward traveler in there holiday schedule so if that's you I suggest going somewhere else and keep you comments to your self 🙂 ................. Steve...

Stayed for 10h, perfect for an overnight. Victoria Square isn't the nicest area but only 1 min from the metro. Mind your head in the rooms, not a lot of room. Friendly staff and good price.

This Hostel is nice and cheap. Most important: Beds, toilets and rooms are very clean. They pay much attention to that. Common space is basic but you can socialize if you want. Staff is helpful too. Kitchen is missing many things. As about the location I really like it. You can get cheap food and drinks around. Also the metro station is less than a minute away. I would definitely come back for all the reasons above.

It could be good for a cheap trip but in other cases I could not recommend you to stay there. Accommodations are too old, beds are not so comfortable, common bathrooms are really terrible. Photos on website are much better than the real picture. The location is close to the metro station and it is the only advantage because the area does not fit for hanging around safely. Otherwise, if you like the hostel vibes you may like friendly service, good wi-fi connection and the kitchen. Price is also good.

I wish I could share the positive experience of most people here. I booked a double room with private bathroom and was then put in a 4 bed room. When I tried to clarify the misunderstanding we could move the next day but not to the room we wanted - that one was only offered to us when I announced that we were leaving early. Besides being chewed out for booking elsewhere I didn't get a refund although I canceled the last night within the required 24 hrs. The bathrooms were not very clean, the kitchen didn't have a sink (you're supposed to wash your dishes in the bathroom) and the rooms smelled. I'm giving two stars for the location and the flexibility for moving us to a different room - given that I had made a mistake while booking as the website is very misleading. I never received a confirmation email nor a receipt for the booking.

Really nice and almost clean hostel just in the centre. Conveniently only 50m from metro. Old partly wooden building. Friendly staff.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Zorbas Hostel in Athens, Greece, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. The hostel is conveniently located near a metro station and public transport stops, making it an ideal choice for exploring the city. I stayed there for 8 nights while attending an event in Greece, and afterwards, to explore the city. One of the best things about Zorbas Hostel is its economical rates. As a budget traveler, I was pleasantly surprised by the affordability of the rooms. Despite the low prices, the quality of the accommodation exceeded my expectations. The staff at Zorbas Hostel were exceptional. They were incredibly friendly, approachable, and went out of their way to assist me with all my queries. They also provided excellent suggestions on places to visit, eat, and explore in Athens. Their warm and welcoming nature made me feel right at home. The housekeeping staff at the hostel did a remarkable job in keeping the rooms and bathrooms clean and tidy. I greatly appreciated their efforts, as cleanliness is a top priority for me while traveling. Another convenient feature of the hostel is the laundry facility. Being able to do my laundry on-site was a huge convenience, especially during a long trip. One aspect that impressed me was the option to leave my valuables at the front desk. Initially, I was a bit skeptical, but I found that the items I left were securely kept. It provided peace of mind knowing that my belongings were safe while I was out exploring the city. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay at Zorbas Hostel. The combination of its ideal location, economical rates, friendly staff, cleanliness, and convenient facilities made my trip to Athens even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend Zorbas Hostel to anyone looking for affordable, comfortable and hygienic accommodation in Athens.

Friendly staff, good location, okay rooms, poor facilities. Worth it if you're staying for one or two nights but I wouldn't have stayed longer

Not a very nice hostel, besides the reception guy which was very helpful and polite. Not very clean, the common area not comfortable and useful, will not come back. ☹

Visited back in Sep 2018. Lovely place. Felt very safe and welcomed! The staff were super friendly and so were all the guests we met. Beds were fine, didn’t have any problems while visiting. Only issue I found was the shower, water would spray onto ground and create a big puddle.

I love this place in the city centre of Athens. It is a small place, a bit older (because of a hotel in earlier times), but friendly stuff, cleaning rooms every day. This place is surrounded by many possibilities for eating & drinking, sightseeing and shopping (if you need that). Since almost 5 years I am just booking a bed in Zorbas :) Thanks a lot to both of the managers Yiannis & Akis!

I booked a triple room with bathroom attached and he wanted to downgrade me to a 4 bunker with shared bathroom! Gave a lame reason that my room type was not available. He wanted to charge me additional €25 more for a corner room of almost of the similar triple room I booked! He refused to upgrade me but instead downgraded me to a smaller double room plunged in the middle of the other rooms! It was so noisy the whole night with the guests coming and going around. The walls were paper thin and you can hear the guy in the next room coughing his lungs out! I noticed there were 2 other rooms on the opposite side which were quiet but the extremely unaccommodating, dishonest and unprofessional man refused to assign me the triple room I booked! I am so disgusted by their unprofessionalism and dishonesty! I definitely don’t recommend this place. There are many nicer ones like Art Of Living but this place is horrid.

Nice enough hostel for the cheap price of €9 per night. Free coffee/tea and cookies in the morning. It's about 30 minutes walk to city center or much faster by metro. Valuable storage available behind reception counter, towels are €1 each. Only downside was the room bathroom which was covered by a layer of water (didn't run to drainage), no hooks for towels or clothes so can be unhygienic and the light cable was hanging off the side of the wall. Overall, still recommend for lowest budget travelers.

Nice front desk people and a nice sized room for 4 beds. I was the only one in the room the second night! Not in city center but close to subway and stuff.

I had a very uncomplicated stay here. I slept here for one night and had no problems with checking-in or -out but didn’t get a key either. The six guys from my dorm room were very considerate so I had no huge problems to sleep there and skip the one extra night I was staying in Athens. Considering the price, it’s nothing more I could have asked for.

The beds were dirty with hair all over the pillow and the blanket l, it's impossible to shower without spilling water all over the bathroom, there was mold on the bottom of the bathroom door, the ac didn't work and the kitchen was dirty and smelled like a corpse was rotting in there. I only gave them two stars thanks to the welcoming staff and the fact that it's next to the train station.
