Well for starters. 1. Our room was dirty like someone only wiped the counter tops. 2. Our fan was squeaking and shaking all over the place. Now for the good stuff. 3 a couple hours after getting the room multiple police showed up to arrest someone with a warrant. 4. Walked into the bathroom to see some friends run away when I turned on the light (friends being cockroaches). They moved us to a new room that was better however still poorly cleaned. Honestly this was the worst stay I have had and recommend shelling out the extra cash for a nicer hotel. (Update) The new room doesn’t have hot water in the shower. We left to go shopping in the morning and when we returned our keycards didn’t work. THEY REALLY HAD NO HOT BREAKFAST. All we got was a paper bag with peanut butter crackers, one of those super dry granola bars and a orange fruit cup. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE YOU WILL NOT LIKE IT!!!!!!! I can truly say I will never stay at a super 8 ever again it was DEFINITELY NOT WORTH SAVING A COUPLE DOLLARS.

My family and I began our night stay at this hotel Sunday 9/25/2022. I asked the front desk for soap and towels, but was told those items are no longer available due to a change in ownership. The only toiletries that could be provided were toothpaste and toothbrush. For the price and reputation of Super 8 I wasn't surprised. However, it is frustrating to promote that you provide a service, such as towels and toiletries, and then learn that you actually do not. We would have made sure to bring our own or considered the price of services compared to competitors. We ended up leaving our hotel room by 1230am (middle of the night) due to a party taking place in the room next door which was overflowing into the parking lot. Loud music and an abundance of people, who were obviously not paying guests, were dancing and conversing right outside our room. This was a Sunday night! Apparently, there is not much that can be done by desk attendants when it comes to disruptive guests. I paid an additional $180 to spend half a night at another hotel. The services advertised by this Super 8 location were far from accurate and the misrepresentation is a testimony to their poor business practices. Send this location toiletries and towels, or remove those items from your amenities list. Then, advise to guests that there is no accountability for adhering to policies and they are merely suggestions. This way people can make an informed decision about the hotel they choose.

Very disappointed the rooms has dead insects, no towels of any sort, gap under the door, old mattress with creaking bed springs, ac didn’t cool , the shower was hard to turn on . Felt unsafe at night.. pool was closed due to bird drowning however the water looked very green . Ice machines were all broken Elevator was smelly and seemed it was going to break. Also you could hear the traffic non stop day and night . The floors were not mopped The only thing going for this hotel is the location and friendly staff. Not worth the cost

Spent the past weekend at this location and while the room was clean, that is about as far as anything good I have to say about it. The beds were extremely hard, the blankets were thin, and the ceiling light in my room did not work at all. There was no hot water for the shower/bathtub, and the water pressure for the toilet was extremely low. It had to be flushed several times to completely empty the bowl, which took even longer because the tank was slow to refill. Also, they charged my debit card on the day of my reservation BEFORE I had even checked into my room.

This is one of the most affordable motels in the Austin/Bastrop area. With third party booking sites, you can get a room sometimes as cheap as $60. In this city, that's incredible. I have come to this motel in times of dire need and found safety, comfort, convenience, and extremely friendly, welcoming staff. This is by no means a "nice" hotel if you're looking for, say, fancy bathrooms or a waffle bar. But it meets the basic requirements, is affordable, and feels very secure. Outside there are drink and snack machines, ice machines, a laundry, and a pool (the last two I have not visited myself). Overall, this is a good place to get some peace and a good night's sleep. I recommend. Edit: I glanced through the negative reviews and was reminded that when I stayed in October 2022, they were completely out of soap, which seemed like a weird thing to be completely out of, especially with a Dollar Tree across the highway. That said, many of the negative reviews seem to come from people with high standards for a $80 hotel in the 'hood. Take all these reviews, good and bad, with a grain of salt.

Do not book here. This is the worst place I've ever stayed at and I budget travel a lot. They never gave us room keys "because the system was down" so we would have to go to the front desk and wait for someone to get there every time we needed to enter the room, which was ridiculously inconvenient and unacceptable. Never got a key and we had to wait outside the room in the cold one night before they came and opened the door. No security, as they would not even check if the room you were entering was under your name. The bathroom was very questionable, the bathtub material was peeling, toilet rarely flushed, some things put together with twist ties. They do not provide toiletries and you have to ask for towels since they don't put them in the rooms at check- in. Suspicious people hanging out and smoking at the parking lot. Breakfast is not really breakfast, it is a coffee and juice machine. The wifi didn't work either. After all the inconvenience and terrible experience they refused to give me a partial refund.

UPDATE: I changed the rating to 5 stars to 3 stars. The stay was good but I never received my deposit back. This seems to be an ongoing issue here. I don’t smoke or vape, and we left our room in great shape which I have pictures of. Never got refunded the $60 deposit 🥺 ____________ We really enjoyed our stay. The check in process was easy and the hotel staff is nice and helpful! good value hotel, our room was very clean. I’m not sure why they have so many bad reviews here honestly I had nothing less than a good and comfortable experience. Parking was free and there’s enough space, the staff accommodated me quickly, and I had no negative experience at all so far. Thanks again, we appreciate it ☺️

Overall I had a pleasant stay at this Super 8! The lobby and rooms appeared to be freshly renovated and modern. There is a fish tank and business area in the lobby and a nice airy open seating area which I thought was a very nice feature. Our room was very clean and roomy! The attendant who checked us in late at night was friendly and funny so that made the experience better as well. The only downsides I can speak of in our short visit was the laundry facilities were out of order and we weren't able to get extra lotion due to a "shortage". Not being able to do laundry was definitely a bummer, especially because the last two places we stayed also did not have laundry! Upon checking out there were grab and go breakfast bags with crackers, a fruit cup, and granola bar with a juice, coffee, and tea station. Not exactly top notch offerings but better than nothing. My partner and I were able to commute here very easily by bus and walking. There were some noisy neighbors on our floor up late partying and talking loud so that wasn't ideal but not something the hotel can necessarily control. Overall we had a pleasant rest and I would stay here again for future!

This was a good spot to stay nice clean rooms. The staff was awesome. They did have a system failure when we stayed so everyone had to be let in to there rooms via staff key they could not make key cards and even if they could the system was down so it wouldn't have let us in so we had to wait (which was not long) for a staff member to take us to our room and open the door.

The office staff here were GREAT, (day and night shifts) The bathroom in my room was in bad shape. The tub was awful and needs to be replaced. Like alot of places I've seen across town they were short staffed. Especially in the Housekeeping dept. I must say that the rooms for what they were where overpriced. Overall it was a decent experience and would probably stay again if I have the need.

Located right off the hwy, gated parking lot and easy to find. It all went down after that. The room smelled of cigarette smoke, patched walls, dark lighting, no hot water, no soap, scratches on all surfaces (walls, lamps, mirrors, and doors). The bedding was smelly, the tub was stained and chipped, the bathroom door was severely scratched on the inside, possibly from a dog? We were woken through the night by yelling, cursing, door slamming. It made the hum of the traffic noise a welcoming relief. I complained to the manager who decreased our bill slightly. She was kind, patient, and understanding. This is a horrible place for travelers to stop.

We booked this hotel due to the price and you get what you pay for. There was a pricing guide by the bathroom with what I assumed what we had to pay extra for, so we just went without. Ridiculous, if ypu ask me, but I also understand what part of town we were in...we live right across the interstate. No towels, no coffeemaker, there was a leak under the sink (pictured), no hand soap, and there was seemed to be a few drops of blood on one of the bed sheets. Shout out to their maintenance worker who put us in a new room after we discovered the heater was not working. We only got a hotel because our power went out from the ice storm and we were freezing. We were very grateful for that! Altogether, not the worst place we could've been, but definitely not the best. I'm not sure if we would stay here again unless we absolutely had to.

Upon entering,. There was no lamp in room. No ice bucket no cups. One trash can with no replacement bags, and no toiletries The phone in the room didn't work. The pillows were very firm. The shower was a pull out and then turn. It was very difficult to do. If my brother had not been there my mom and I would not have been able to take a shower. no internet. Grab and go breakfast is not perk. This grab and go breakfast consisted of peanut butter crackers, a fruit cup and crunchy granola bar. Walls and shower floor were chipped. There was a festival in town so hotels were limited. Very close to downtown is the only positive. At 1am on the our last night police were in the parking lot trying to get someone to come out of the room that was beside us. We had to o evacuate to go to lobby so they could serve arrest warrant back in room at 1:45. The cost of the room was too high for the way the room was. We should get a refund or part of one because of the police situation. Horrible horrible. It is super 8 by Wyndham on the sign. Wyndham needs to do something. Our room didn't look as nice as the pictures. HORRIBLE!!!! Avoid it like the plague.

I have frequented this hotel off and on about 2 years when in town for work. Friendly staff. The rooms are nice and adequate. Hot water. Clean bed. Clean towels. Cold A/C. Lighted parking. Shopping and many good restaurants at the Mueller across the freeway. Is this the Ritz, no. Is this a high and dry affordable, place to stay, indeed it is!

At first glance the place was pretty well kept up, unfortunately the bath tub was in bad shape peeling plaster, chips, mystery paint on the tub, center of the tub felt as if was sinking through the floor. WiFi signal extremely weak, would not stay connected...the TV wasn't mounted properly, you could literally take it off the wall in order to connect HDMI cord. At least there were no bugs... bed was new and comfortable.

The front desk ladies were super nice and helpful. The overall property is dirty and not maintained. There was mold in the shower and on the bathroom floor. We did not have any towels in our room. There were people talking outside our room at 4:00 am and a truck honking for someone at 6:00 am. I stayed here because we meet family and this suited their financial need but I did not feel safe or comfortable the entire time.

I find it perplexing that there could possibly be any positive reviews at this property. My daughters booked their stay here for an event in town and facetimed me as soon as they entered the room. The room was beyond filthy, I wouldn't allow them to stay there. I instructed them to call Expedia and go to the front desk. The front desk offered another room that was no better. My daughters had to scramble to book another room at a nearby property costing an additional $700.00 for the 4-night stay. Expedia was amazing and reached out to Super 8 by Wyndham Austin Downtown/Capital several times demanding on our behalf a refund for the $820.00 prepaid stay - which they denied each time stating their cancelation policy. It is absurd a $1.5 Billion dollar company would so brazenly take advantage of my 25-year-old kids.

This hotel was a bit over priced for the quality of the room even on a holiday weekend. For what I paid I should have gone somewhere nicer. The homeless tweakers are nearby, but it was in a convenient location. The front desk personnel attended me right away even tho they don’t seem friendly. They also provide breakfast (waffles, prepackaged donuts, yogurt, bitter coffee, but it’s something.) It’s basically just a place to stay. There’s no friendly service but they’ll attend you, and there’s no luxury. You get in and get out. That’s it. Nothing special.
