l'employé du petit-déjeuner est un désastre total. hostile, incompétent, effronté. On the last morning before check out I wanted to see what the breakfast room looked like. I took a croissant (mini, 20g) and left, which was wrong. Afterwards I was treated like a felon by the kitchen help and they wanted to charge me €16.90 for a croissant. Absolute impudence and totally incompetent, extremely unfriendly staff. It's a shame for the hotel that they employ such brutes at breakfast.

Bad service. Room dirty and different from the one booked. We have been scammed. In addition, the very rude and rude reception girl laughed in our faces together with her colleague without restraint (Julie). In the end they didn't change leaving us at a total disadvantage with two small children and after aunt hours of travelling. I'll make one more complaint went Mercury.

Nice location at the northern portion of Avignon. Close to the bridge and city center. Very busy hotel. Recommend not driving into the city but to the Pont d’Avignon and then you will see the drive in entrance to the parking. Decent hotel, polite staff and clean rooms. We stayed a couple days to explore the surroundings. The breakfast bar was well stocked with a variety of items. Cosmopolitan groups of people stay here.

Exceeded expectations. Particularly the restaurant, we had read some negative reviews, but due to a thunderstorm tried it anyway. The food was excellent in all respects. Service, presentation and taste, couldn't be faulted... First class

The place is inside the walled City closed to Pont d Avignon. There are lots of restaurants within the area, soap store and many gift shops. Our stay was pleasant except for the male receptionist who made a mistake/rude. But in fairness to the Front Office Manager Ms.Alina Kolesnikov she is VERY good 👍 , attentive and she was able to hear us out and explain and had to ensure that the stay was pleasant. She definitely deserved her position :-) However, I could have give 5 star if there are easy way to roll your luggage.

Walk to local attractions. Rooms are comfortable and staff helpful. There is a carpark connected to the hotel, very convenient.

Good hotel, nice breakfast area with a decent breakfast buffet, room smelled damp, very expensive. Great location. Friendly staff.

We are staying here at present, but when we arrived the Air conditioning was NOT working, they replaced the unit but we had to vacate our room for a couple of hours, the TV on some channel's NOT working, still waiting, some power points NOT working yet they expect us to pay big dollars !!!!!! Breakfast, well service slack, Don't replenish anything unless you ask. Room sizes, tiny, no where to place your suitcases either !!!!

Inside the old city, we had a comfortable but basic room. The refrigerator was not plugged in (not a big deal), but finding the cord in the cabinet took a few moments. Our key cards each stopped working during our stay and needed to be reset.

Absolute top location in Avignon. The rooms are well equipped and clean. The breakfast can be taken on a nice terrace. All sights are within walking distance. A large parking garage is directly attached to the hotel.

No hand soap, felt springs in the bed, room smelt odd. Staff was very nice though.

The stuff is very impolite. It is an unpleasant smell in the room. The hotel has problems with the humidity, it is not healthy to sleep in these conditions. When we try to discuss with someone from the stuff, she only repeated to us us that these are the conditions.

(see tips at the bottom) Good breakfast. Rooms was okay, but cramped and the bed wasn't very comfortable. The food option was limited too. Tips: the parking is a bit complicated. When coming in to the parking lot, there are two parking slots for checking in and unloading. When checking out, if you're not alone, better have someone reserve the loading place, while you're getting the car.

This is perhaps the most over-rated four stars hotel out there. It is rather unfortunate to see a hotel welcoming guests in a room featuring mold, spider nests and degradation from leaking A/C. Please mind as I could not capture the smell and mold via photos. It is nothing less than a public health concern. Probably in a civilized venue one would not even get the opportunity to stay at such premises as it would certainly fail minimum hygiene norms. Equally, the staff members behaved less appropriate when not allowing us to check-out a day earlier. This is somehow also reflected in the behavior of the manager whom at first listened to our feedback yet failed to act on the promise made to reimburse part of the fee. Overall, it is not a coincidence that several guests are complaining given the low standards. I can only recommend such venue if a person really wants to experience unique treatment or deteriorate its health. Thank you for opening our eyes for truly an unforgettable experience!

Dispite the location which is close to the Palais de Papes, the staff is generally rude , the rooms need renovation and the breakfast needs to have more local tastes .

This is not a 4 star hotel at all.. Very rude staff, and a funny smell all over the place.. Needs for sure extensive rennovation Regarding breakfast is the poorest one i have ever experienced. No no, no never again!!

Very well placed. Walking distance to all you must see in Avignon. No need to pick your car. Excellent link to the public parking with a private area for loading and unloading people and luggage. Reception very helpful regarding hotel facilities and Avignon tourist options. Ophelíe attended us in a superb way. Breakfast is fine, rooms very well renovated with smart TV. Bathroom is not very wide but has everything you would need. One of the best options quality/price in the city.

I'm started to be disappointed about Mercure hotels. This particular- location is very good. The rest - very tired, renovation requires! walls and corridors like in the basement. Avoid the rooms looking to the interior courtyard- very noisy because of people having fun all night long. Breakfast - very good, with good choice of fresh food, including fresh orange juice, Nespresso coffee and very good tea.

We had a very bad experience getting into the hotel when the baggage drop off area was filled with cars not moved by their owners. We wasted a half hour in the parking lot trying to find another entrance and finally left and re-entered and parked illegally in order to check in. Extremely frustrating as even the entrance required lifting bags both up and down stairs. There is no concierge or porter. Actual check in was easy. Rooms are European average size but have limited facilities. Our safe didn't work and nobody could hear us when using the phone. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner. There is a buffet breakfast available - fresh squeezed orange juice was good. Other than location adjacent to Pont D'Avignon, the hotel has little to offer. I wouldn't stay there again.

Depends what you like but I would expect more from a 4 star. I would rate #Mercure Avignon as a 3 star hotel. Good points: fantastic location, and generally good facilities (room was clean, decor not too tired and facilities fully functional) and parking right under the hotel. Some hotel staff were really helpful and pleasant to deal with. Bad points: Other hotel staff were not that helpful (lots of drama when I asked for an ironing board! We also parked in the car park and someone parked behind us so we couldn’t move and reception staff refused to help!). Very strong sewage odour throughout property which is a huge concern, breakfast was disgusting: crockery, cups and pots were not cleaned properly; quality of food was cheap and it was clear that the hotel was skimping on the quantity of food. Room keys constantly deactivating (all at the same time!). Bathroom flooded every time we used the shower. Towels small, hard and crispy. Marketed as an international hotel but barley any English channels on TV.

The hotel was fine. I really liked its breakfast. However, they ordered a taxi for me, and this taxi company recommended by the hotel was not trustfull at all. I asked for an invoice they told me that the app for payments would do it automatically, and it was not the case. Then I tried to contact the taxi company and also ask the hotel to do it for me, as I needed an invoice, and I never got it.
