Stephan and Emmanuale were very helpful to us, recommending places to visit, and providing local information. They made a good effort to present a homemade regional breakfast. The location was central in the Avignon Town Centre. The hotel layout has limitations. There is a step and narrow spiral staircase. The breakfast room is cramped. The bedroom was barely adequate. The amenities were poor. No shower gel, thin towels. The breakfast was expensive and inadequate. Hot food was not always refilled.

The owners and operators of this fun old hotel do an amazing job at making you feel welcome and at home. We'd recommend this place to any family and friends.

This is a very nice hotel at a really good location. Close to the parking and the owner is also very hospitable. Great starting point from where to discover Avignon. For breakfast I would advice to go to one of the bistro’s close by. There the breakfast options will be more varied and for a better price then at the hotel and just a 1 minute walk. All in all the hotel is very good for couples, charming and practical.

Central location, secure and in a beautiful building that captures the essence of Avignon! The staff are so welcoming and really made the stay special. Thank you!

Our stay there was lovely - everyone was so helpful and nice! We got lots of good recommendations for restaurants and places to see. And the breakfast buffet was top notch!!!

Beautifully decorated junior suite. Great service from the host Stephane. We had a great time in Avignon.

A perfect stay in Avignon! Gracious host and excellent service. A beautiful breakfast with large selection of homemade pastries and egg dishes. Quiet, comfortable, affordable, clean rooms. The perfect location to explore the whole city. Look no further, reserve now!

Nice small hotel in the city with lovely owner. Very quiet although it's in the middle of the city center. And the best breakfast we ever had in a hotel! Everything home made. The only downside was that the room looked less fancy than what was expected based on the website, but still quite nice.

I made an error booking the reservation through Expedia, instead of May 27th, I put in June 27th. Immediately after I contacted Expedia and requested that they change it. They contacted the the owner, Stefan, who denied the request. I contacted Stefan who said he never denied the request and that I should contact Expedia again. I contacted Expedia again, they once again reached out to Stefan, who denied the request. I called him and spoke to him on the phone. He said he wouldn't change the date because the reservation is not subject to change. Needless to say, I would not recommend this hotel.

Lovely room and fantastic location. Be sure to check your email for the access code, because reception is closed from 12-2 and you cannot get into the building.

Lovely place, right in the very historic heart of Avignon. Very clean and nicely decorated room. The owner was nice, welcoming and gave us good advice.

With only 12 rooms and a lovely customer service oriented couple running the place, it feels like more of a B&B than a hotel. The entrance is deceiving as the rooms are beautifully decorated with a seating area. You have a mini frigerator and safe as well. There is plenty of hot water and nice pressure in the shower. The windows have shutters so you can sleep in. It is on an alleyway so it is super quiet. We landed at this hotel by chance due to our VRBO being not real and they were so helpful and gracious to us as weary travelers. Just wished we could have stayed there longer.

Charming little hotel inside the walls in Avignon, easy walk to the Palais de Papes. The staff was so kind and helpful, and my room was spacious with a comfortable bed, and good water pressure in the shower. They were kind enough to make sure I had gluten free bread for breakfast. I would recommend this hotel.

This was by far the best breakfast we had on our trip to France! The owners are superb hosts with excellent English. We felt like we were given a customized tour plan right when we arrived. We only had the afternoon to explore so the owner gave us a wonderful walking tour of Avignon including the little free ferry boat to get a stunning view of the old town. The rooms are spacious, very clean and the beds are very comfortable. We could not have asked for a better stay.

A charming boutique hotel with traditional French decor and warm reception. Stephan was an excellent host and gave us useful directions and recommendations on where to explore and have meals at. He also helped us with our luggage up to spiral staircase when we checked in.

I highly recommend this lovely hotel located in the pedestrian-only area of the old town. It is very close to the Palace of the Popes and the City Hall. The hotel is very clean and very nicely decorated. The owners are very friendly and provided very useful information about the surrounding villages, historical sites, and Avignon shops and restaurants.

The service, the room, and the location were all excellent! We have traveled to multiple cities in France and stayed at multiple hotels, and the Garlande Hotel is most definitely one of the best. We would return to Avignon simply for the hotel; the best deal and the best experience.

The hotel is located right in the old centre, which is great for accessing all the main areas. One does need to park at Palais des papes, about 400m, so if you are hauling lots of luggage expect a slight workout. Our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the street, which is noisy. The windows are of good quality and block out most of the sounds, but if you are a light sleeper, definitely recommend that you ask for a room onto the side street. The WC was new and bright. The room also had AC; with ever-hotter temperatures in France now, this is a good feature to have. The owner was very welcoming and a wealth of information on sites, restaurants, etc. You could sense his pride and enthusiasm in Avignon and the countryside. He was also very attentive in showing us our room and amenities. The breakfast is mostly homemade and the desserts made by his wife and son, a budding pastry chef, were delicious. Even the jam was a homemade apricot with lime...yum! We were quite pleased with this choice of hotel.

Great hotel, top service, good rooms and magnificent breakfast. The entire breakfast was home-made and the rosemary-apricot confiture was beyond delicious. We arrived quite late but still they took the time to point out nice restaurants en places to go to. Since we only stayed for one night we already planned to go back!

Second visit and as welcoming as always. Well located, clean, quiet; wonderful and helpful service and always with a smile, in English or French. A ne pas manquer !

This hotel is where I stayed (by myself) for 2 nights in December 2021. The building is conveniently located smack in the centre of town, a 10 minutes’ walk from the train station. The room I stayed in (nr. 7) was quiet, with all the furniture you might expect, including what I think is an antique English wardrobe. The amenities are fine – plenty of electrical sockets, there’s WiFi, and the shower is clean. The host is very friendly, has a lot to share about life in Avignon – it’s actually worth checking out their website Garlande Hôtel Avignon Centre (notre.guide). My stay was short, and I mostly spend time in the room sleeping or showering, but I’d happily come back to this place. I really like Avignon for a 3-4 day stay, including a trip to Orange to see the roman theatre, and this hotel is a great base from which to explore the city and its surroundings.

Charmante ! Emmanuelle, the owner, is delightful and extremely helpful. The hotel has the charm of the original, historic building with a newly renovated room and very nice bathroom. The room & building were very quiet. The spiral stairs to the upper floors is steep, but Emmanuelle's son kindly helped with our luggage. The breakfast is incredible: a wide variety of local products; and numerous, freshly baked, homemade items - it was hard to choose, so I had one of each. Emmanuelle cheerfully presided over everything and brought fresh coffee before we could even ask for more. I was having difficulty changing our rental car reservation so she called the local office and worked it out on our behalf. Merci beaucoup!

Perfect accommodation, great location. But even more impressive of all was the excellent reception. we had a lot of attention, guidance, excellent tips. For sure if I come back to Avignon I will stay at this hotel again.

This hotel is worth it. Rooms are super clean, spacious for Europe, and cozy. It’s like being at home in Avignon, France. Location is mere minutes away from the train station and major tourist sights. Rooms were very quiet, despite central location. The best part is the staff and host, who gave us great recommendations for sightseeing and dining. It was an absolute pleasure staying here and I would come back again!
