I came with 7 of my female friends, arriving very late in the evening and were instantly met with problems (they were our fault), however the staff were super quick to assist us, and fix the issues. It was our first time abroad with no adults so I can only imagine how useless we were, yet we felt safe and secure in the hands of the staff. Throughout the entirety of our stay, we were offered multiple opportunities to explore the area, during the day and night, for very cheap prices. Although the rooms were fairly small, you cannot expect much more from a hostel! The location, the staff, the hostel itself, all were above and beyond my expectation and my friends and I were over the moon!! MUCH recommended :)

They dont care about covid safety... Last week a group of italians and portuguese guests, working at sonar festival, were in quarantine inside the hostel, as a closest member from the group (the girfriend of their boss) had covid. They were hanging around in the kitchen without masks nor respecting social distance. After they secretly told me that, i complained to reception, but the receptionist decided to take me away from the hostel (without giving me any reason) instead of taking some action against the quarantined group. The group still in the hostel and they were angry with me after I complained about it to the receptionist. I think they must proritize public health instead of money, especially taking in account that many vulnerable people (I am diabetic) had already died from covid. Other bad experiences to add: 1 the beds were very uncomfortable, 2 some of the rooms had bed bugs as i got bites in my body. Later, i have read in other reviews from other guests, that bed bugs are a frequent and common complain to this hostel (you can check It online). 3 some people working at night had some aggressive behaviour towards guests. 4 sometimes you get locked in the hostel or you are not able to enter as nobody is in reception and they lock the entrance door. 5 the receptionist ask guests to write good reviews in hostelworld or Booking, before to invite them to make new reservations trought their homepage (for that reason, you can find so many good reviews on those online booking services) The overall experience had ruined my holidays. By the other hand, most of the workers were lovely people but It seems they cannot take desitions regarding covid safety or other issues. I also met a lot of lovely people who are now my friends.

Very clean and very organized! The staff is really friendly and very welcoming! They were very helpful and always smiling! The breakfast was good too and cheap (3.5€). There are nights out organized by them which is super cool as an isea if you want to meet people. I totally recommend this hostel! There is also a small pool at the roof! I also loved the fact that we didn’t need locks for the lockers (that usually hostels sell them) since it works with the room card. There is also a free luggage room!

Stayed here for a week at the end of December 2021 but never really took the time to write a review, although they deserve one. I had a memorable stay and met great people in this hostel. I remember the hostel had basic breakfast (eggs, ham, bread, cereals, coffee etc) and organized dinners on some of the evenings, which was a great way to meet other travelers. There were also some parties going on in the hostel itself and I believe they would also organize pub crawls if there wouldn't have been covid19-restrictions. The staff was very friendly and helpful, good beds, clean bathroom, a big personal locker for everyone in the bedroom, a terrace, great (and safe) location to walk to all POI's, 24h reception, ... No negative remarks. Would stay again!

This hostel is one of my favorite hostels I have ever stayed at. It is not a quite hostel but in the rooms it is. The hostel has breakfast and dinner available everyday. Every evening the hostel go out as a group and goes to a bar and club (included with your stay with no extra charge unless you buy drinks). The rooms are very clean and the bathrooms and showers are also very well maintained for a hostel. If you enjoy meeting people and going to have a party this hostel will be great but if you just need a bed it is also a great choice.

Awesome hostel, had a very good stay there! The staff is really nice and cool. Many activities to do at the Hostel and around. The localisation is really good (5 min from the metro near the city center). The room was good, but there were no curtains so less privacy between the beds. But otherwise very cool decorations and a nice place.

Great place for the young people or mostly students. Great crowd and great atmosphere at hostel. Daily Party organized by the hostel. Great location too and friendly staff. But some things maybe improved such as washroom and cleaning services. In all Love the place.

I have stayed at this hostel now plenty of times, and will be returning again and again. This is the perfect place for people who love to socialize, party and just meet amazing people from around the world. It was my first time travelling with a friend, but the experience was just as amazing. The thing I love about this hostel besides the great location, people that stay there and cleanliness is the staff. They always have the best staff. Dave who works at reception. An amazing guy who helped me and my friend when times got hard. He was always checking in on us and how we were feeling and cheering us up. He came to party with us as well which made the whole experience even better. An amazing guy, could not say more great things about him. And then there was our party guide Lolo, who is a funny, extremely friendly guy. The first night out we felt so welcomed we made plenty of jokes and had a great night. And the last night out was the best "good bye party" we could ask for. We talked, we laughed, we just had fun and did not think of the fact that we are going home the next morning. The vibes and everything is just amazing. Could not say a bigger thanks to them, and if you stay at this place, make sure to get to know them. Best people out there!!!!

My favorite hostel I stayed at during my trip, the people, the staff, the rooms, and the activities. Laura, Mace (hope I spelled that right), and Maria were definitely a highlight, especially Laura, she was kind to everyone there as soon as she got to the hostel, you can tell she is really loved by all the staff members and her attitude really shows, she was the one making most of the dinners and arranged all of the nights out we had, from clubs to bar-crawls, personally, she brought light to the hostel during my stay. As per the facilities and cleanliness everything was great, I switched rooms on my last night and every floor has a different vibe which I found interesting. Met some awesome people during my first weekend and had a great time all around, many stories were shared and the overall vibe was my favorite so far, especially during dinner time (great dinner recipes which are affordable [6-8 EUR] and rotate every day). The staff was super kind and very helpful with sharing key locations and directions, location was very central, definitely recommend this place to everyone I know who likes to have a good time.

A great hostel for groups and solo traveller's. One thing I'd like to especially highlight is the group dinner every night with fantastic self made food by the staff. The rooms are modern and clean, the only thing I'd improve is ventilation. Despite my stay in January it was very warm during the night with 5 out of 6 beds being taken.

  • 5/5 krishna g. 1 year ago on Google
Bed was cozy and dormitory arrangements are good. Toilets were better than other hostels. Common areas are nice and shared kitchen is an amazing experience. Every day they take you to different bars and clubs and thats wonderful. I appreciate hostel staff and reception staff especially Laura and other boys and girls. They are TRUE workers and making hostel better. I wish all the working staff all the best. It would be great if they make rent little cheaper but it's OK it's Barcelona.

Stayed here for two nights. The beds/ rooms/ facilities were okay except for the fact that the hostel staff failed to properly checked me in when I first arrived. As a result, the cleaning staff cleared my belongings from my bed thinking that the bed was unoccupied! Later, I spoke to the hostel to find my belongings but they could only find a portion of it. Conveniently, a bag containing my travel accessories, jewelry and small cash and this bag was not recovered and could not be found. After my stay, I emailed the hostel but the hostel refused to give any refund or compensation. In particular, the person replying to my email even said that there was no proof that I had such a bag on my bed and that they are not responsible for any loss on the premises. Ridiculous! Very disappointed with the total lack of customer service and empathy. The hostel also was very reluctant to take accountability for their own actions. I would not recommend staying here and would find somewhere else next time I'm in Barcelona.

This is a really high-end hostel. Everything is modernized and there are very nice facilities. If you like to party, this is the place to go! But that means that it's also very loud. So if you want to sleep well, this maybe isn't the best choice. As a side note, I'm not a huge fan of how the lights work in the room. They turn on by themselves at sundown and off at 11. Can be kinda jarring if you're just reading and all of a sudden the room goes dark. Of course, there are reading lights for every bed that you control.

Excellent!! I really enjoyed my stay at Sant Jordi!! The vibe is really cool, the group dinners were great and the pub crawls were amazing! It's near a lot of cool places and close to the metro. Everything was very clean, the bathrooms, showers, dorms and kitchen, also the staff was very nice and helpful as well. Thad a lot of fun there, I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone!

It's my first travel experience staying in a Hostel at Barcelona. I decided to keep the comfy or cozy hotels away and be more social/ surrounded with people around me. So I picked Sant Jordi! well it surprised me!!! more than I expected. I definitely recommend this hostel, hygienic dormitories & beds/nice kitchen/ located close to center/activities/entertainment. Special thanks to the entire staff along with Laura & Martin for making my vacation so wonderful with great fun & memories :) Tri ;)

This hostel has been the best booking of my life. Central location, helpful and amazing staff (Badr is absolutely the best), clean at all times! The swimming pool terrace and the common areas are always clean and the perfect place to meet lovely people. Lots of activities offered. I had an amazing time in Barcelona, I'd never book anywhere else other than St Jordi!

I have been to Barcelona a couple of times, and my most recent I decided to stay at Rock Palace. I was here for a week staying in a 6 person room with some friends. The rooms and facilities were clean, and the hostel was in a very advantageous location. I always had a metro stop nearby, and there were plenty of cafes to visit. What really set this hostel apart was the experience. The staff were all spectacularly friendly, and willing to accommodate their customers in any way they could. Throughout my time there, I interacted the most with Ivy, who was an animator there, tasked with bringing people too and from bars/ coordinating events. She was always kind, and very helpful in directing the hostels environment. Every night I could turn to her- and I felt like I had people to see, and places to go. My experience in Barcelona would not have been nearly the same without her and without the Rock Palace Hostel.

Good hostel. The staff are incredibly nice and were extremely helpful. The people are pretty chill and you'll end up making a couple of friends. Only problem is that it's not the cleanest hostel. Other than that would recommend!

I stayed at this hostel during semana santa and I had an amazing time. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They also took us out in the evening every day at 11pm. I always felt safe while out with staff and took advantage of the nights out. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. I didn't get to check out the pool but maybe next time. I would absolutely stay at this hostel again.

My roommate Sam and I stayed here for 10 days to visit Barcelona. It was our first time overseas and it was a wonderful experience. We got to meet so many friendly people from all around the world between our bunkmates, the awesome employees, and the other hostels coming to meet us here. We loved meeting in the basement to party with everyone before heading out to the clubs as a big group! The rooms were clean and adequate for sleeping but we found that the floors weren’t really swept during our stay but we weren’t too worried about that. The showers had minimal pressure but were still clean and had hot water. And the bathroom was private and clean as well. We were given towels for a deposit fee that we could replace as often as needed and it was very helpful to us that they provided wall adapters with a deposit fee. We had all the tools needed for our stay All of the staff were wonderful to us and I wish I could remember all their names but one in specific we remember was Leticia! She was so nice and came out to party with us. She felt like our friend that just wanted us to have fun! We miss her and the hostel already

My friends and I had a great stay at Saint Jordi Hostels Rock Palace. Gian was the best receptionist I have ever met. He was friendly, patient and funny. He always greeted us and engaged in conversation. He ensured we had the best experience in Barcelona and an enjoyable stay at the hostel. He is also a talented drawer. Attached is his version of the hostel logo and even a portrait of my friend and I. We had the best time in Barcelona thanks to Gian.

Sant Jordi Rock Palace was awesome. I traveled solo, but ended up making legit travel friends. The dinners, bar crawls, and daytime pool made it easy to socialize. You can chill and sight see during the day then party at night, if you want to. Leticia from reception was great and made sure I knew about all of the activities and hot spots to visit during my stay in Barcelona. Sant Jordi Rock Palace was defiantly a memorable character in my travel adventure. I would totally stay again.

It was my first time staying at a hostel and I’m so happy I choose this one! The atmosphere is very nice and social. People who stay there and the staff are very friendly and opened towards the guests. The rooms are nice and clean. I had everything I needed. They throw parties / night outs in the hostel were they offer free bare for a small price a hour and then takes to to one or two bars and after what a night club. We really had fun on these nights out with the hostel. 🥳 I never felt alone in this hostel even though I travelled all by my self. I will recommend this do everyone I meet on my way. I booked through the hostel world app and connects you with other travelers in the same hostel or area. 🤙🏽

Really enjoyed my time here. It's in the city center, the staff is really nice with lots of young people, the rooms are clean and you meet lots of new cool people from around the world. Even has a pool of the rooftop. They go to two clubs every night, the entrance is free. You can book a breakfast there, but it's not worth it in my opinion. But apart from that I totally recommend it, will definitely come again.

I stayed at the Sant Jordi RP for a night and I loved my stay. The customer service was top tier. I loved the positive energy that was oozing from the staff. They were beautiful and kind. The city itself, magnificent. I was sad that I was only staying there for a day. But I was in Europe for a little over a week and it was time for me to go. But I am definitely coming back! The four stars for the room was mostly because I had to share the room with 9 other girls. Super cool and a pleasure to get to know but when I had to get ready for departure, it was hard to move around without making a lot of noise. It's my first time in a hostel, so it takes some use sharing a space with others (something to consider if it is your first time). Outside of that, I highly recommend!

  • 4/5 Łucja K. 6 months ago on Google
Very friendly staff and nice overall vibe, it brings friendly people too. Air on and lights are controlled from the reception desk and they switch the lights off at 23 every day. Even though there was a party downstairs, it was very calm in the room and no noise. The only thing I didn’t like so much was the bathroom, it was a bit messy and the door in the shower didn’t lock.

  • 5/5 Tatiana D. 6 months ago on Google
Amazing hostel with very social and fun atmosphere (they take you to 2 clubs and bars every night for free)! the workers are amazing and super friendly. dinner, open bar, karaoke every night. rooftop pool. rooms are clean. 5 min walk from Passeig de Gracia. could not ask for a better hostel in Barcelona !! Alma and Bamboo were awesome when they took us out!!

  • 3/5 Katie H. 5 months ago on Google
Only the second hostel I’ve stayed in and had to book last minute as I needed a place in the city to sleep before an early flight. Therefore, didn’t use any of the social offerings, of which there were many. Chose the four person dorm hoping for more quiet. It was as expected with the roommates snoring and coming in late although they were fairly respectful. Removed stars because the mattresses in prison are likely more comfortable. The linens had lint and little particles on them and were clearly very old and tattered. A staff person came into the room like a bull in a China shop at 23:05 to lock the windows and was quite disruptive. The check in process took a long time despite doing a pre check in online, several people waiting in the lobby who had not done the pre check in and there was no option to bypass those customers to quickly get a key.

This hostel was very mediocre. I would say that if you are looking at this place to save money, do it, but you can also find something better for just a couple more euros a night. Some of the good things were that it is very social so it is very easy to make friends. My friend and I, 18yo females, stayed in an all female room and our roommates were fantastic. The staff is amazing and very helpful! Some of the down sides are that the bathrooms/showers can get VERY stinky, specifically on the fourth floor. And unfortunately that is where our room was. It stuck up the room and my friend and I had to hold our breath whenever we walked by. Overall, I don’t believe we will be staying here again, but it wasn’t a terrible experience.

I really enjoyed my stay here, the staff are friendly, tons of activities and stuff you can do. I rented a longboard from them zero complaints. The kitchen and common area are great. 10/10 I would definitely stay here again.

Place well located, warm and comfortable. I booked the place for my friend and I also had the opportunity to see the ongoing life inside and the structures from inside, and they are very cool, clean, and the staff very friendly and cool. Good vibes. My friend even told on his check to keep the adress for his future stay. This is a comment from someone who lives in Barcelona and know about hostels, so when I say I highly recommend this hostel trust me. Thanks much.

Great hostel!!!! Besides the great structure the team is very good, Mike is very helpful, and makes everyone feel welcomed, it was like I was at home!!! Renato is also super good people, interacts a lot with guests. Whenever I'm in Barcelona I already know where to stay!!

Some activities are still not happening due to the pandemic, but the hostel is very good. Cacau (manager at the reception) is excellent, she gave me precious tips about Barcelona and personally made an amazing itinerary for my 2 days in the city.

Not bad and not good. Also, they provide special dishes for dinner all the week around 5-10 euroes. U should bring all ur personal tools with u. The most benefit its location near centre and everything.

Very nice and cool place. The room was clean, and so was the common bathroom. Staff is welcoming and friendly. Because of the covid situation they reduced the capacity of the rooms. There is a room for storing your luggage for free.

Very nice hostel! Good personal, always clean, comfortable bed (almost all), you have a personal locker. Equipped kitchen with everything you need ! Every night a party inside and outside and dinner ! I think it's one of a best in Barcelona!

I had an amazing time at the hostel. The people are so genuine and sweet. I didn’t expect to come into open arms when I arrived at this hostel but I was and I appreciate it endlessly. Mike was a worker here that was so interactive with the guest you would believe he is staying at the hostel too. He cooks meals for everyone here and they’re great! He takes care of the younger drunk people. Even on my last day of my stay, I felt super sick, mike stayed up with me and supplied me with teas/medicine when no one could help me. So trust me. Look for Mike. You will not regret your stay here. I promise.

Clean bathrooms although a bit outdated - could use some renovation. Fridges in the common area do not really keep cold temperature. Rooms are OK, but the sheets and bedding is not in great shape. I think it was washed and clean but it was not pressed and just did not look super fresh. There is no way to self open windows - you need to ask the staff to do that. This was painful for me and my friend when we visited because there was a smelly person in a room with us - we almost could not breath, it was awful. Window had to be closed at 9pm, they also did nothing about the problem (i.e. talk to the person). Breakfast is continental, nothing fancy but will get you through the morning. You can buy your own food and make breakfast in the kitchen. They cook cheap dinner every night so you can join that to meet other people.

Staff were great at encouraging everyone to have fun and get to know each other. Everyone was very helpful and it was great getting to know the staff along with the fellow travelers. Remnato, Martin, and Badr were great staff to know. The food is also good with a good price.

Had an amazing 10 day stay! I highly recommand this hostel! The place is clean, nice to live in. The atmosphere is super nice ! The room is quite spacious, bed is comfy, they have secured lockers. The shared bathrooms were always clean. The common areas were super nice as well. The all you can it breakfast was convenient. Every night there is dinner you can pay for, and then you can go out in bar +club with the staff and other guests. The staff was super nice, helpful, willing to help, give advice etc (Big up to Martin, Bruno, Jesus and Emma). I will definlty stay there again if I go back to Barcelona.

One of the best hostel experience I’ve ever had! Everyone was friendly and kind. Big thanks to Fabio for his tips and the girl at the front desk who spend time on a Saturday morning to find me a clinic to do a covid-19 test. Great stay with great people!

Amazing experience at Rock Palace!! the location is perfect and close walking distance to popular sites. The staff is super friendly (especially my encounters with Martin, Emma and Oriol). The environment is very social with nightly dinner and outings to bars and clubs, and there’s also places to study, and chill outside. 10/10 recommend

This hostel is absolutely wonderful and extremely accommodating. I needed a refund because I mistakenly booked the hostel for the wrong date initially and they refunded me immediately! No questions asked. I definitely recommend staying here. It’s in the heart of Barcelona!

Best hostel I've ever stayed in. It has everything you need (fully equipped kitchen, comfortable rooms, clean showers/bathrooms) in a good location (close to shops, the subway, bars, restaurants) but the best thing are the common areas, especially the terrace on the rooftop with the pool (small but still quite nice) and the super nice super helpful staff (thank you Cacau and Vicky, you were amazing <3). Definitely recommend it, and will be back again next year!

Very negative experience with this hostel. We booked since March for 2 people in a 6 person dorm, and when we arrived and paid for everything, they said there was an issue and they wanted to split us and one of us to go to a 12 person dorm when we paid for a 6 person dorm. This hostel's organisation is a disaster and extremely unprofessional attitude from the staff and they don't know how to be professional and satisfy the needs of the customers. I have stayed in many hostels throughout Europe, and this is the worst hotel I have ever experienced. After wasting hours of our lives, they proceeded with a refund, for which I am still waiting, and they did not offer alternative accommodation or compensation.

Giving 3 stars because for a 10 people room 20-21 euros a night was expensive without even a toilet or bathroom, or private curtains for the bed. The pool is ridiculously small, and you can’t even tan there….! The locker system is good, but I didn’t enjoy being a prisoner at every point to enter the hostel to use the key card, or someone from the reception had to be there for you to exit.. The location is good, but that’s about it. The dinner every night should be included in the price, and the showers be upgraded as they are VERY worn down, and doesn’t even have a single shelf.. Also, the staff should be more attentive!!

Me and my friends had an amazing stay here in Barcelona, I would highly recommend this hostel, it had a family feel and the staff were really friendly in particular Martin who went out of his way to make sure we had a fantastic time and Emma who were both great company on the nights out. This whole experience was made so much better staying here! :)

I am a solo traveler, I spent here a Friday evening a slept over in a dorm for a Saturday night and I had really a good time here. People were gathering in the common area and it was easy to hang out. I appreciated the organised going out to bars. A dinner and a breakfast offered by the hostel are worth having. Last but not least, the staff was really nice and helpful. I fully recommend this place.

Sant Jordi Hostels Rock Palace is definitely the best hostel in Barcelona!! I’ve been in a few hostels and not a single one of them was as good as this one. The staff is incredible, the place is freaking awesome, the vibe is amazing and it’s totally impossible to go there without making any friends. I loved Barcelona and this hostel is one of the reasons I enjoyed it so much. I surely know I’ll come back and I hope it’ll be as stunning as I experienced it.
