DO NOT STAY HERE. Where to even begin with this hostel - prior to arriving we booked the room well in advance to assure that we would have the best possible chance of staying together as 7 girls travelling. Once we arrived the reception was incredibly rude and unaccomadating and split us up. Regardless of this none of us felt safe in the mixed rooms because of some of the other guests and after one particular incident we explained calmly that we would all feel safer in one room and the hostel, being fully aware of the scenario, were again extremely horrid and unsympathetic in their treatment of the situation. I repeat - avoid this place. It isn't worth the risk.

Disgusting! First of all the lady at the reception is really rude if you're an Asian. Secondly, we were given a room that had issues with bathroom light. Furthermore, the AC of the room was not functioning atall, when complained about it at the reception, the lady started accusing us for using the controls of the air-condition (air-conditions are centrally controlled). When asked for change of room she didn't bother to reply and went away saying that we are anywhich ways checking out the following day and if we can adjust with the situation. If we are paying for full amount, we expect for the services to function too... REQUESTING YOU TO KINDLY AVOID BOOKING THIS PLACE, THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS NEARBY.

You get what you pay for. Hard mattresses, broken toilets, dust on the lights. They sent a guy to fix our toilets, his advice was to just punch it (it worked!). He promised to send someone to replace a part. Never happened. The breakfast was alright. Their security guy does a good job at keeping the place calm and preventing you from doing dumb stuff in the hostel. Good guy. Cheers to him. They have a strange rule that says you're not allowed to open windows. Pretty paranoid. The showers are heavenly though. All in all, if you're low on money and you're ok with some discomfort and a sour back, it's an okay place to stay.

When you want to suffocate in your sleep, then this is the right place. A room with 10 beds and no window. The air con doesn't really work after a few minutes it jumpes back to 25°C. The matresses are covered in cum stains and are very uncomfortable. At some point the cleaning ladys came in and wanted to throw out all of our stuff even though we were staying for another night. The location is the only good thing about this place. If you want to waste your money this is the place to go...

It's a really disgusting place. I booked a bed in this hostel on booking a one month ago. I tried to check in today at 3 am due to late flight. A receptionist said me room number and suggested to find a free bed. But all the beds in that room was full. After that the receptionist said ‘Unfortunately, all rooms in our hostel are completely full. I don’t know why, maybe some guests invited their friends. I can't do anything’. Moreover, I was not alone who faced with the problem. I have seen a woman with the same problem. We had been waiting in the hall around 1 hour while 2 guests left the room and we could occupy their beds (with dirty sheets). About service: - kitchen is closed to 7am, so you even can't drink a tea (for instance) - you really don't have a number of bed in the room, so you have to find a free a bed in the darkness - very long check in: ~7 min for a one guest. I had been waiting for 30 min at night (and around 1 hour for room) - enough dirty place - the place is overcrowded Pay 10-20 euros more and find a decent hostel. This is the worst experience in my travels.

Very noisy beds, that are also small, lockers are boxes that stays under the bed (so you need to pull making a lot of noise, waking people up) and a lot of them have the lock broken, some dirty on the bathroom, doesn't have a division between the shower and the rest of the toilet, 1 toilet for 8-10 ppl in the room. Yes, the location is very nice and the common areas are pretty cool, but it doesn't covers all these bad aspects.

Horrible experience. We booked four nights here, what a mistake. The social areas are wooden crates with pillows on them, so obviously money is not reinvested into making this place better. The kitchen was like a closet with hardly any room and an electric two burner cook top for one hundred plus people and not even a kettle or coffee maker. No pool table, table tennis or other games which was strange for a "sports hostel". The mattresses were very uncomfortable and the bunks were not sturdy which meant no good rest. Bathroom light in dorm room would illuminate the whole room whenever somebody went to use the bathroom. Also, the lockers under the bed were so loud whenever somebody would pull out their locker from under their bed to open it sounded like an earthquake. Sure the hostel at €20-30/night might be cheap but when you compare what you're getting for that price and being woken up consistently by loud lockers, very bright bathroom lights illuminating the whole room and cramped dorm room with no pace then it's a complete waste of money if you can't even get a good night's rest. There are better hostels in Barcelona where you can get a proper night's sleep so don't waste your time at this cheap-o-money grab joke of a hostel.

Went for 3 days with school, the food was absolutely terrible. Nothing was cooked, not even the chips. If you want to go this place just don’t get the food! Stains on bed sheets and body hairs dotted everywhere. Very small rooms, springy hard beds, and dust everywhere! Overall you very nearly get what you pay for!

It was okey, nothing special. You have to pay if you want to leave there your luggage before clock in or after clock out. It was quite suprising because our other hostel was so generous and since we spent our money there they let us to leave our luggages there for free.

Staff not very friendly. Seems like your bothering them by entering the building and asking for anything. Beds were very bad can feel the springs had to use the stained blanket as extra cushion. No circulation in the rooms so it gets stuffy and smells. Walls paper thin. Only thing is place has is its location. First night roommates were snoring like a Harley Davidson all night and had horrible Body Odor. I recommend finding a different place.

Decent hostel, us 2 were staying in a 6 bed dormitory, other guests were great. The lobby and the dining room are cool. Would recommend for young people if you're staying in Barcelona.

Worst hostel experience thus far. Rooms are quite small, poor ventilation, no hand soap in rooms to wash your hands. Hair on floor, floors are always dirty. You need to pay an additional fee for towels. Quality of bedding is very low, mattress is hard. My sneakers got stolen in my room, very unpleasant experience. With my sneakers being stolen, there was not much that could be done. You would feel better knowing your items are safe, however mine was not. I would not recommend staying at this hostel.

I have mixed feelings about this hostel, mainly because I am not the target audience; I didn't really care about the sports theme. I liked: The social area, the kitchen (I think it's not mentioned here; but it has a stove!). I didn't like: you can't lock the bathroom, I found the way to access the room confusing; the card system relies on a magnet strip; you can't just hold it up to the door), luggage storage costs 5€, staff was distracted during checkin, you get no blanket just a sheet, you can't lock the bathroom and it also has a see through door.

I went on a school trip to Barcelona and this is where we stayed the accommodation was ok it wasn’t amazing and there was no storage other than a locker under our bed but this was bad as there was 8 of us in the room and when we where getting changed there was no room to move around as the lockers took up all the space. 4 of the plugs didn’t work when we arrived which isn’t great. There isn’t very easy access around either however there was a lot of us so I don’t know wether that’s just because of how many people there was trying to go somewhere. The food was really good at breakfast time with a lot to choose from and it was tasty, however at dinner the food was definitely not a good standard so we actually ate out for the whole time at dinner time. However the hostel staff where very nice as they provided us with lunch when we went out on our different landmark trips around Barcelona. The location of the hotel is really good as it’s close to everything and there are multiple shops near by and good transportation all around.

1- The staff is incredibly rude. 2- The room smelled really bad as if there were dead animals in the shower. 3- The ac was not in a good condition which made it very hot at night. 4- The beds don’t have any curtains so there is no privacy. 5- You don’t get a towel. 6- AGAIN, the staff is extremely rude. We stayed for 9 nights and after checking out we asked to leave our bags for 1 hour and they asked for €5. 7- If you’re staying for a long period of time, they still won’t clean your sheet. You only get one when you check in. 8- It’s very far from the beach, you have to take the bus. ————— 1- although the location is far from the beach, the location is relatively good, it is surrounded by a lot of cafes and supermarkets. And the bus station is near. 2- People coming to this hostel seem to be mostly young nice people. 3- The hostel is clean and modern. I hated Spanish people because of the staff, I can’t describe how rude, entitled and arrogant they were.

Horrible experience! This place is not for backpackers or solo travels, not clean at all, not organized at all. I had to change room because one guy came in drunk and start talking a lot of not respect stuff through the phone at 1am. The problem is not the people stay here the problem is the administration, it’s awful. If you are a women travel solo, you do not come over here. Bathroom smell horrible. It’s a hostel so the administration needs to keep everything clean and in a good vibe.

The hostel offers good basic essentials and is at a great location. One big problem is that the windows cannot be opened. Everyone can imagine the air in a 6p dorm. Especially during the pandemic I find this inappropriate. Furthermore the sanitary facilities are located in the rooms, leading to disturbance at night when other guests brush their teeth or shower (of course there is some kind of door for the shower and the toilet but the sink is in the room and the doors are very thin).

No cleaning. Floor full of hair. Dirty walls. Dirty linens. No space in the bedroom. Too small. Staff was no kind at all. Check out at 10am. When we ask if who could leave after 10 because it’s really early they were super rude. One of my worst experiences ever in hostels.

Better ac so my towel could dry. Toilet was disgusting I almost threw up. Room smelled horrible and bedsheets were dirty. Also my book started molding could be something else not sure. Got horrible flu and headache. I do not recommend if you can afford better. There was good sights in the community area. 😉

Nothing like some of the negative reviews, staff were nice and friendly - lots of social games like beer pong and party tours. location was good near lots of nice restaurants and metro stations. rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. only down side was the clear shower door with no lock. Would recommend if your looking for cheap accommodation in Barcelona

First and most important of all, the whole stuff is insanely rude and would not communicate to guests needs. The rooms are small, far from clean. The AC doesn’t work and you can’t open any windows. In fact, my room doesn’t have any windows at all, it has terrace door that you can’t open at any time. The problem is I have severe asthma and I tried to tell the hotel manager and she didn’t have any understanding for my condition, was very rude while I tried to tell her nicely I could get panic attack if I don’t have air circulation. In my whole life I didn’t experience such inhumane rudeness. Would not recommend.

Good : The location is not terrible You are 20/30min walking from the Main Street Bad : The female receptionists are too rude to be on a reception. They mistreat the customers and can't even do a full conversation in English. They don't care if you can't speak Spanish, they will just talk with you on their language and you need to understand them somehow. So Rude! We went as a group and did the reservation of a full room for us two months ahead and we were completely separated. Thev messed up the room planning and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience

Rooms are tiny but clean. The two guys at the reception were very nice. But what's the problem with the girl at the reception ?!? She was very rude and was insulting me in Spanish when I asked her the keys for the locker. When I told her I was able to understand everything she was saying, she kept going with the insults and swear words. Very rude, poor girl she must have a very sad life if she gets stressed for such an easy task. I wonder why she's in an hostel if she doesn't have any customer service skills. Nobody wants to pay for accomodation and being treated that way. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE WHERE THEY TREAT YOU WITH RESPECT AND WITH A SMILE.

Good hostel. Very clean, good rooms with private toilet and shower. Beds are pretty comfy. Small kitchen but big communal area. Lots of school trips around - maybe not the best for solo 20+ travellers but definitely not the worst. Great location near a supermarket and metro station.

The aesthetic of the building is quite good; very much fits the theme of a sports hostel. There are plenty of facilities, such as a gym, but the closing times of these are fairly early (5pm). Breakfast is cheap and there are a few restaurants and shops within very close walking distance. Complaints: Rooms are pretty poor quality: walls are quite thin so noise travels and air con doesn't work, no lock on the shower door and the shower door is partially see-through with gaps, non-functioning lock on the bathroom door. The beds also feel unstable and make creaking noises with a slight movement which can make it hard to sleep if someone is a restless sleeper. The rooms are quite a walk away, not sure if this is by design as there are calorie counters on the stairs with motivational quotes. Finally the vending machines don't work.

Rooms and beds are too tiny. No space to place your luggage in a normal way. Beds are falling apart, and shake heavily and squeek. It is noisy, you can hear people in other rooms. Lady at check-in was not friendly and not helpful. The price is way too high for budget hotel. But lets end with the only positive: it is clean though.

Horrible hostel. I stayed there for one night and got my computer stolen. They have a so called “system” in which anyone can go in and out of the so called “safe storage”. And when I went to tell the person of the hostel she blew me off and told me she didn’t want to bother her supervisor because it’s a Sunday. Make yourself a favor and don’t go!

The experience was regular, as i expected. The room was pretty clean with the exception of few hair on the sheets. Instead the bathroom was too tiny and there'no space to move, on the other hand the shower was pretty huge. The Building had a common room to relax and another room above It with the same function, buy i have to Say that the indications was imprecise, for example a sign said that there was a pool but It didn't said that the position was in the Gym nearby. In the overall the experience was satisfying, even with this little issue.

I had a terrible experience. I couldn't sleep at night. The room was uncomfortable, the air conditioner didn't work, and we couldn't open the windows because the room is on the ground floor. The room was excessively hot at night. The bathroom doesn't have locks, there isn't an assigned bed for you, and there's a possibility of another person using your bed when you return at the end of the day. There are no locks to secure your bag during the day or night, and I didn't feel safe. There was zero comfort or privacy. I only stayed for one night and switched to another place the next day; it would have been impossible to stay there. I wouldn't recommend it, especially for women traveling alone.

Lovely bright modern decor which a lot of thought has went into. The same cant be said for the tiny kitchen which doesn't mirror the amount of people using it .Pokey with no utensils or cutlery .Only one microwave and two cooker rings .No kettle and when I brought my own they confiscated it then gave it back when I was leaving without the lid.The pool is next door and not in the same building and you MUST wear a swimming cap and all these things are extra charges. The rooms are clean and bright but very warm .You are given bed sheets but may as well be lying beneath a sheet of paper .

I stayed at the hostel this august as a group of 5, booked via Dorms. The rooms were clean, the staff pleasant, the sports-themed decorations were fun. It was well-situated and let us make the most of our weekend in Barcelona. The only thing that bothered me is their cash-only policy. They wouldn't take anything but cash, and the closest ATM they indicated took big withdrawal fees. It seemed quite inadequate for such a big hostel. Apart from that, I would recommend the place!

  • 3/5 Rania 10 months ago on Google
not as bad as some of the reviews make it out to be! its not luxury and not the most atmospheric and social hostel, but if you're looking for a place to sleep and leave your stuff while you explore barcelona its completely fine. the sports theme does not extend to the rooms (thank god)

✅ Over all, it’s worth for the price, even with city tax. 🤵‍♂️ The reception speaks good english and is very nice. I think you can check in even in late late night. 🍳 There is a big fridge and a small kitchen. But no knife (to cut food). The public area at ground floor is quite big. 🚿 The shower room and the toilet are separated, which is good. But the shower room has no lock, not even a knob to rotate or something. Just push and pull to open and close the blurred glass door. No toiletries nor towel provided. 🔉 The door has poor sound insulation. It would be a nightmare if there are kids having fun in the hall way. 🛌 The bed is a okay but they only give you 1 pillow cover and two bed cover, 1 to cover the bed, 1 as quilt. It’s way too thin to be a quit. I need a light jacket going to sleep. There is a locker for each one under the bed while the locker has no lock. There is a plug and a reading light for each bed.

Met good people, however shower smelted bad and had no lock so anyone could come in. Only 1 bathroom for 12 people in a room. Not allowed to open windows so it gets stuffy. The rooms were not booked well.. When we arrived we were told that my partner and I were in separate rooms and there was nothing to be done even though we booked about a month in advanced into the same room. It took alot of awkward conversations to finally go into same room though they didn't seem happy about it. The beds were also not great as you could feel the springs.

An average hostel with some good facilities. But was lacking heart and soul.I don't like. I don't like the fact that in the dorm rooms the showers had No locks. Generally speaking the place is okay. But it just felt really dated. I would not recommend this if you're looking for a social hostel, but if you're looking for a quiet Hostel in the middle of the city then This is perfect.

Good place and Location but a little bit far from the sea. It provides kitchen so you can cook there and you have there a most staff . this is very good and you can check what I have cooked. There are machine for Caffe and fast food. The bed was acceptable, not too much comfortable. The house keeping are very nice but the Recipient are a little bit tough, but In general they are acceptable. It provides more Tax for the city around 1.70 Euro for Tag. And it is not really kindly. The roof there are very good. In total I give for this place with the price 7/10.

Clean and big rooms, clean bedding, functional utilities, and nice people to meet and interact with make Bcnsporthostel my favourite place to stay in Barcelona, Spain. The receptionist would tell you that breakfast is served, making it appear as if breakfast is included in the room charges. However, you would be told by the chef that breakfast is not included in the room charges and that you must pay for breakfast. Also, there are gym facilities which one must pay for before getting access to them. With my active visa card, I attempted to book a room online from Germany. And it didn't function for four days. I contacted hostelworld.com, who offered some suggestions that I was unable to implement.I chose to go there in person to make a reservation when I arrived, which worked out well. Thankfully, there are English speakers at the front desk, as well as many other tourists who understand and speak English as well as other languages like as German, Spanish, and Italian. Holidaymakers in Barcelona should stay at Bcnsporthostel, which I highly suggest.

Rooms were ok, we stayed in en-suite room. Pillows were uncomfortable and we were only given sheets for mid October. We were also sent an email saying that we could store our bags for free on our check out day and the receptionist argued with us before putting our bags in the ground floor locker. After putting it in there, she said “you’re bags may or may not be there when you get back”. Would not recommend this hostel

I recently stayed at BCNSportHostels in Barcelona and it was a great experience. The wifi connection was really good and the check in was quick and efficient. The location of the hotel was really nice and the decoration of the rooms was really nice and modern. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice and comfortable stay in Barcelona.

The place is very fine. Excellent Internet connection, clean bathroom and great hot water shower (with excellent pressure). The room for 4 people is spacious enough. Walls are very thin and you can hear everything happening nextdoor. Guests could be noisy and laugh, talk and scream late at night - little respect for the rest of others. The second time we visited, the room was located in a much more silent place for great rest at night.

  • 1/5 Noemi Eleonora Maria G. 1 year ago on Google
Worst experience EVER! 1. The receptionists are extra rude, they don’t bother trying to solve the clients’ problems, whatever matter you might have they tell you “It is not possible” to solve it. Plus, their knowledge of English is almost non existent.. so if you don’t speak Spanish you probably won’t be even able to communicate with them. 2. We went as a group of 5 and made the booking: we ended up being split in two different rooms despite asking many times to change our accommodation in order to stay all together. Obviously, we were rudely told it was not possible (and apparently many other people had the same problem as us) and I think it is totally messed up, considering that we’re still recovering from a pandemic. 3. The rooms are poorly organised, as the sink is in the middle of the room, the toilet is in an extra small space and the shower is made so that if you want to change you’ll probably end up with your clothes all wet. No privacy at all. 4. You CANNOT open the windows, i complaint at the reception and guess what? “It is not possible” - besides during the clean up - due to some rules in Barcelona. And when I made them notice that the cleaning staff had never opened the window even once throughout our whole 5 days stay I was rudely told that they do it everyday because it’s their job.. I guess they don’t know how to do it then. 5. We decided to check out one day earlier because it was unbearable, we asked the receptionist to get us a taxi and after telling us that their usual taxi driver was having problems getting there in time, she rudely told us to look up on Google to find another one. 6. Please, if you want to enjoy your trip to Barcelona at its fullest, do not ever book a stay in this awful place! Your mood would get ruined otherwise.

10 person room for 2 nights. If you are looking for a cheap place to sleep for the night in Barcelona than look no further. However, the place lacks a lot of comforts. Showers were nice and spacious.

  • 4/5 Ube Van G. 1 year ago on Google
Decently sized rooms, but low ventilation so in a room where 10 people are showering a lot and have dirty clothes, it starts to smell. Nice service and always a smile behind the desk. They offer a pub crawl for 15 euros, we joined twice and had great fun both times, good way to learn the nightlife and get to know new people. There is free wifi, but this doesn't work too well in the rooms, in the lobby it's okay. Location is good, not too far from the clubs and places to visit.

As a solo female traveler, I found this place very welcoming and safe-feeling. The staff is super helpful, the free breakfast is nice, the overall stay was very affordable, and the place has amenities like an outdoor space to relax with a pool. They also keep everything very clean. I definitely recommend staying here if you are exploring the beautiful beaches nearby :)

Sorry for the 3-star rating due to these reasons: 1. It has a centralized cooling system that in the middle of heatwave, you cannot bring the temperature down according to our liking. 2. The cooling system that feels like a Fan, instead of AC, automatically shuts off and we had to get up from our sleep or from rest to turn it on over and over again. The thing good is, it's available when we needed it most. It's our first time to stay in a hostel when the hotel we booked in had a situation. For future visitors, this kind of accommodation is a Hostel so there are no provisions of soap/ shampoo, fridge or water.
