For business reason I had to stay in Bari and the recommendation was that we stay at the Excelsior Hotel near the train station. The hotel is literally at the train station. I guess it was a minute away to be precise, hence the location was great. The room was also nice, convenient and quiet. I had room 634 which was at the very end on our floor. I had a fridge, a safe for my valuables, a bathroom with a bidet, shower, toilet and a sink. The room was equipped with a flat TV with many Italian TV channels and an A/C. The hotel has a large reception area with a corner for book lovers, a TV corner and a great lobby area with a bar. Additionally there is a work area with coffee machines, juice machine, tea and water for the guests. The restaurant also offers three times meals per day, of course against a fee. The dining restaurant is great, with a large variety for breakfast such as fruits, pastries, eggs, sausages etc. and various juices and coffee. The restaurant has an outside seating as well. The staff in the whole hotel was very friendly and helpful during my entire stay. For business reason or city trip to Bari I definitely recommend this hotel.

Great short stay. Breakfast is plentiful, and staff are efficient. As the hotel is centrally located, parking on the street is difficult to find close to the hotel. There is a parking silo not too far at €1.5/ hour. The hotel claims it has internal parking at €12/day. However, no parking was available in spite of my having requested it by email in advance of our stay. Rooms and common areas are clean, and the hotel seems to have been recently refurbished in good taste with modern equipment.

Conveniently located next to Bari’s main train station and bus station, the hoel is a good choice for anyone who plans day trips to surrounding attractions such as famous Alberobello and Polignano A Mare. The room was decent sized and clean, and quite comfortable. Wifi was very fast. The staffs at the hotel were professional and friendly. They were always ready to assist with any requests. I also liked the hotel's delightful on-site restaurant which served delicious dishes featuring a mix of traditional and modern flavors. The breakfast buffet was very good, offering vast selections of freshly prepared hot food, cold cuts, fresh fruits, and pastries.

Great place to stay if traveling by trains. Friendly staff at check in reception. The room was not large but just enough for two with luggages. Breakfast was delightful too. A nice plus is the Happy Hour from 6-7:30pm with a delicious white wine. The only downside was the bathroom fan wasn't working, thus one star off. Can recommend.

Very convenient location, within easy walking distance to Bari Centro, car rental, and train station which takes you to and from the airport in 15-20 minutes. Full hot/cold breakfast was outstanding. Room was clean and looked newly remodeled. A couple of technical issues with the room which were resolved by the staff. Recommended.

How is it possible that this hotel gets 4 stars?!? Pro: friendly helpful staff, clean rooms, close to Bari centrale Contra: old shabby squeaky beds, broken blinds that take 20 min to be closed (see picture), lowest quality breakfast, thin walls so you can here every word from the adjacent rooms

Very bright and modern lobby. Easy check-in. Room was “IKEA” modern style. We attended a promotion, “Live in the Hall” in the lobby bar. Fixed price for a drink and a selection of appetizers. Very congenial staff and a great piano player who allowed me to join in. Buffet breakfast included, with ample choice. Certainly a good place to stay if traveling by train as it is only a short walk from the station.

We had a pleasant stay. The room was comfortable and the staff helpful and kind. The hotel has a bar and restaurant. In the mornings this restaurant serves the breakfast. Definitely worth including the breakfast in your reservation, it was delicious and complete with all sorts of diet choices. There is secured pay for parking in the hotel’s garage.

A very fine hotel, in a wonderful location. Great service, nice people in the reception. Good breakfast, they will do you great coffee, just wait until they ask. I only miss the swimming pool.

The hotel is located right across from the train station. It’s about a 20 minute walk from the downtown area. Or a quick taxi cab ride.

The positive points: Good breakfast and close to the train station yet also not far away from the old town. The reception is open 24/7 and you can leave your luggage if you arrive too early for the check in For the room: it was 28 degrees inside when I arrived. Air conditioning did not work I asked the reception to activate it which they did remotely. But while being extremely loud it was not very efficient and after 6hours of continuous working it was still 27 degrees. I had to sleep but it definitely not possible with the HVAC on. I then realised that it was now impossible for me to turn if off from my room, I had to call the reception to do it for me. Regarding the sound insulation there is almost none, you can eat everything from the other rooms, even if it is a little windy outside you have the impression that there is a tempest. Also a small hint, if you checkout early proactively ask for a breakfast to go. I had to leave the hotel early in the morning (early) so I was told to signal it at the reception the night before in order to get a breakfast bag. I went to the reception and did the checkout/payed without proactively asking for the breakfast bag, result the day after there were breakfast bags on the counter of the reception but I was proposed to take one.

No coffee in rooms, only one chair in a doubly occupied room, not enough electricity outlets. Not enough room for clothes in a doubly occupied room. Bath has nowhere to hang your clothes or eet towels or even just place them somewhere. Near the sink there is a very restricted surface on which one can place tooth brushes, toothpaste, razors etc. Its cramped, things fall off the sink to the floor

I had a huge room! The breakfast was good, a lot of range and options. An efficient hotel.

I am on a trip to Italy since last 5 days. This is the first place where I felt welcomed. Andrea, the Receptionist is a very well mannered, polite and helpful. Many thanks to him for making me rethink the behavioural issues I encountered at many many hotels

Wifi soars with around 200 Mbps, small language barrier here and there in the restaurant, but no such problems at the reception desk. Grand piano in the bar needs tuning badly, one year ago it was much better. Anyway in general the place is very nice and tidy, breakfast service is above average and once asked they can bring some extra stuff from the kitchen, including coffee better than the one available anytime from the machine. Rooms are equipped with soft armchair, desk, foldable luggage stand, cosy beds, extra pillows, QUIET fridge, safe which can store up to 11" iPad (to give rough idea of the size). I happened to have room with moderately small shower, so if that bothers You, requesting a room with a bathtub might be a good idea, their bathrooms seems to be planned better. To sum up - would come back here without hesitation.

Good location if you are traveling by public transport. Only a few minutes from the city center. Helpful staff. Clean rooms. Wide range of food for breakfast.

Great accommodation. The location of the hotel is perfect. The staff was friendly, and one of the cleanest hotels I have been to. My only concern is that the breakfast is exactly the same every day.

Unfortunately it is not possible to give zero stars so I have to give one. Bad behaviour at the reception. Our room was not ready at 2 p.m. There was no explanation why, no sorry, no nothing. I started to explain that check in begins at 2 p.m. but was told that there no guarantee to check in at 2 p.m. The lady interrupted me several times, not letting me finish. That is simply bad behaviour and we are out of words. I would not advise this hotel to anyone.

Not worth 4*, it's an old hotel with basic rooms and the breakfast is really disappointing for a 4* hotel, The bed was so uncomfortable that I couldn't get a good sleep...would not recommend it
