My
experience
here:
My
wife
and
I
were
looking
for
a
nice,
quaint
bar
to
enjoy
our
last
few
hours
after
a
nice
romantic
dinner
nearby
-
1st
year
wedding
anniversary,
7
year
dating
anniversary.
It
was
Monday
night.
We
walked
into
this
bar
located
on
one
of
the
inner
streets
-
off
the
main
roads.
The
space
was
small
but
cozy,
the
lights
dim,
the
smell
of
mint
and
lavender
candles,
the
music
volume
at
just
the
right
amount
(mostly
American
classics:
70s,
80s,
90s,
multiple
genres).
When
we
entered,
there
was
only
one
other
customer,
so
it
felt
isolated,
which
we
loved.
Itzel's
service
was
second
to
none,
and
my
wife
and
I
travel
quite
a
bit.
Our
cucumber
water
never
depleted
to
completion.
She
remained
attentive,
caring,
and
kind
(all
of
which
felt
very
GENUINE
-
it
felt
like
she
wanted
our
company,
with
the
business
part
of
it
all
being
an
afterthought,
if
at
all).
The
drinks
(honestly
couldn't
be
too
specific
about
what
we
ordered,
as
we
asked
her
to
surprise
us
most
of
the
time)
were
top
notch
quality
-
flavors
(minty,
flowery,
fruity,
savory,
spicy,
etc.),
ratios,
freshness,
temperature,
presentation,
I
mean,
TOP
NOTCH.
NYC,
take
notes!
I
understand
Norway
isn't
a
tipping
country,
but
screw
that
-
although
I
do
respect
and
support
that
method.
We
left
a
small
tip
which
she
tried
to
reject
over
and
over.
We
eventually
just
walked
out
while
ending
the
conversation
and
she
chased
us
out
of
the
bar
to
hug
each
of
us.
That's
the
kind
of
person
she
is.
We
gained
a
new
friend.
And
on
our
2nd
visit
(we
made
sure
she
was
working
Wednesday
of
that
same
week)
she
became
FAMILY.
We
connected
with
Itzel
on
a
personal
level,
as
if
she
was
a
friend
for
years.
After
a
while,
it
felt
like
an
honor
just
being
in
her
presence.
We
felt
lucky
to
have
had
come
across
her
in
life
(thanks,
Mt.
Fløyen
trolls).
The
drinks,
which
were
ABSOLUTE
PERFECTION,
could
have
been
awful
and
we'd
probably
still
give
this
5
stars
due
to
the
professionalism,
warmth
and
generosity
that
make
up
Itzel.
Seriously
though,
best
cocktails
I've
ever
had.
I
wish
Google
Review
allowed
one
Michelin
star
rank
per
person
per
year
-
this
would
be
our
pick
for
2019.
Special
shout
out
to
Sindrei
and
Thomas
(2
Icelandic
customers)
who
we
met
that
night
thanks
to
our
mutual
love
for
Nirvana's
Come
As
Your
Are;
it
played
over
the
sound
system
and
Sindrei
noticed
my
positive
reaction.
The
amount
of
laughter
we
all
shared,
most
of
it
drunken
banter,
is
the
kind
of
stuff
that
makes
memories
permanent.
He
demanded
Itzel
keep
the
change
after
a
transaction
and
even
though
she
politely
fought
back
to
reject
it,
Sindrei
gave
her
the
middle
finger
and
didn't
bother
listening
to
her
attempted
rebuttal.
Hahah!
True
love
right
there.
Drei
and
Thomas
said
that
if
we
ever
return
to
Norway,
even
if
it's
in
15
years,
to
walk
back
into
Last
Monkey;
no
arranged
meeting
would
be
necessary
because
they
would
still
be
there.
I
believe
them
completely!
=D
I
advise
any
of
you
who
had
the
patience
to
read
through
this
to
pay
this
bar
a
visit.
It
deserves
your
business,
and
will
reward
you
for
your
time.
Go
make
your
own
memories
at
the
MONKEY,
and
make
them
LAST
a
lifetime!
