Overall a nice hotel to stay at while visiting Berlin, as it’s quite easy to get around with public transport (right next a hub). Room was fine and bathroom was very nice. My main issue is that I woke up to find something sharp poking out from my pillow - turns out it was a safety pin. Staff didn’t show that much interest or care when I showed them and simply removed the pin without an actual apology. Left a bad taste in my mouth when leaving the hotel.

I stayed here for a couple of nights and would have given 3 stars if the front desk staff hadn't been so strange. The interior is a bit old-school but good enough. Breakfast is good (not very good, but good), and the location is great. I asked for a late checkout, and they said no; the hotel is fully booked. Okay, I thought, but then the front desk person said they could keep my luggage for the afternoon or I could book another night. If you come up with excuses, you should not debunk them... I said, "But you said you are fully booked." He looked a bit shocked and then said, "Yes, but a few expensive rooms are left." I thought this was strange and decided to ask another person a few hours later. This time, I asked if I could book another night in my room. They said, "No problem, you can do it online because the booking program is down at the moment" I asked if I do it online, do I have to do it now to avoid the situation where the rooms are all booked? He said, "No, there are plenty of rooms available." Then I said, "Oh, then can I also do late checkout?" He froze and then said, "No, we are fully booked." Like... you just said you have plenty of rooms available. If you don't want to offer a late checkout, just be honest.

I am very disappointed with my last stay in this hotel, in which I had already stayed in 2018. A deluxe room, very beautiful, but an empty mini bar, not even a bottle of water, and a staff at the reception who finds this normal. Thanks Melia, I won't be back.

There are various problems. Rooms: no bathrobes, no slippers, almost nothing except towels, soap, shampoo, shower gel. At least we have a pencil but the internet is limited and very slow in the room. Forget working or watching movies on your phone/laptop.NO water machine or tea, coffee either. Which I so far have seen in cheaper rooms in cheaper 4 star hotels too... You're being forced to buy coffee every morning. The elevator can ONLY be opened with the card. The lights also automatically shut off completely when the card is out of the room ( a box where you put it in near the door). That means if your partner (an early bird) leaves earlier for the breakfast in the morning, you will be in complete darkness and cannot even use the toilet since it is dark inside... Very bad and stupid concept. Sauna is ok, gym is small. Breakfast is good. Bacon could be crispier, eggs too are too soft. But it's only my taste. The green chairs of the rooms are also extremely ugly and overall the room has not a comfortable feeling. Mattress was a bit too hard for me and if you're a female and smaller it will maybe be hard to fall asleep.

Second time at Meliá hotel. We booked a DELUXE room, which was really nice but with not even a bottle of water, never seen this in a 4 stars hotel. We ask at the reception and they told us its only for deluxe rooms, which was our case... It would be honnest to precise the low service on the Website or booking. Besides this, the breakfast is truly amazing

I had a lower tier room, but it was very comfortable, clean, and quiet. An outlet by the nightstand to charge a phone (for those of us who use a phone as an alarm clock) would have been nice, but alas that was not available

The service was below our expectations; it felt like a badly organised hotel. A long queue for check in, the water spray at the sauna did not work. The breakfast at the level lounge was good and the room was clean but had a constant noise like a washing machine or hoover running all the time.

First of all, the location was great. Very clean and big rooms. Cleaning daily the whole room, bath and toilet. In this price category I think there should be slippers at room. Reception staff was really helpful and kind. The price (28€) per person seemed a bit to high for breakfast. We enjoined a lot and will book this hotel for next trips to beautiful Berlin. I would recommend this hotel

We had the greatest stay in this hotel. The room was great, breakfast too. We enjoyed the Level lounge very much! Personal is very nice. Location in Berlin is perfect too!

What an excellent location, a very pleasant stay in a super clean environment. It was my first time in Berlin and my first in Germany since before the wall came down! If you want a comfortable room with short walks to so much history and incredible food and drinks on tap, book your stay at the Melia Berlin today! Can't fault the staff on duty, always attentive and helpful, English speaking too which was a big help to me before my confidence with the German language started to return :) We stayed in a standard room which consisted of 2 single beds a big TV, Kettle (with tea and coffee) mini fridge stocked with various drinks and some snacks. A beautifully clean bathroom with pristine soft white towels and a magnificent powerful shower, toilet and bidet. If I were to have any reservations it would only be that the rooftop area in the void between the four walls of accommodation was in need of a bit of a clean up, but it's only an observation as I can't imagine many would spend their time in this wonderful city staring at the windows of other guests in the hotel. Thank you Melia, thank you Berlin, I hope to return again soon....

No outlet next to bed, no kettle, unfriendly staff who don’t acknowledge you upon entrance, a sign that says leave window closed unless you want bugs but the cleaning staff leaves the window open daily. Wifi is horrible. Very disappointing experience.

This is not the usual Melia standard: overly hot rooms which are quite dated, comfy beds and good location but staff weren’t that friendly after an issue at their end with a double booking.

Superb room. Friendly and most accommodating staff you could wish for. Fantastic breakfast. Right over the river, and in the best part of Berlin to which i have been. Price fantastic. 5 stars, without hesitation.

Great located hotel. If you are a "The Level" pax, you have access to the lounge. The atmosphere, views, service and food selection are perfect for a relaxing start of the day. The sauna and gym are small but still very convenient. None of them were full at any time we visited them. The room was very clean as well as the common areas. Rituals amenities a plus. The tapas bar had a nice vibe. The hotel staff (reception, bar, lounge) was extremely nice. All and all, the hotel is very nice and I would definitely come back.

Where to start? I had a very unexciting room looking to the "court" - backside, not much to see... There are not enough AC (electricity) plugs in the room (obviously rather old room and in need of renovation). Literally not a single plug next to the bed. On neither side. Normal rooms are super spartan (modest). Don't expect a coffee machine in the room or anything else. The carpet felt like a plastic woven outdoor carpet. Weird and cheap feeling. The Wi-Fi is lousy. Also, you can't work properly from Deutsche Telecom's mobile network. Hardly coverage in here. Not even phone calls. Weird having staff popping in to refill your the minibar, just after you entered the room and asking if you consumed the missing content. Reception - well, not really forthcoming staff. Probably due to staff shortages and students filling the gap. Not their fault - either not properly trained or just a general lack of customer focus. But bad management. For the rest clean. I would just recommend the hotel management to clean up the roof in front of the window - not nice if you look out and leftovers of all cigarettes chain smokers throw out the window... (In a non-smoking room...) So, Melía, given the extortionate quality-price ration, you won't see me again. PS: The management needs some sensitivity training on the Holocaust - pictures of Berlin's Holocaust Memorial aren't adequate "decoration" for a hotel room, in a failed attempt to have some "light pictures on the wall" .

This was our third trip to Berlin and our first time staying at the Melia From checking in we were made very welcome Our room was very comfortable clean no disturbances at night, breakfast was very good lots to choose again clean staff friendly and helpful. Bar area lively and comfortable with a great atmosphere Staff again fast and efficient couldn't do enough for you. The Melia Berlin is in a great part of the city with easy access to Berlins sights. I can highly recommend Melia Berlin and would like to thank them for making our stay a happy and memorable one. Regards Steve Williams

We stayed here when we visited Berlin, June 2023. Beautiful city and plenty to see/do but lots of construction going on. Steps away from the train station, public transportation and the City Bus (like Hop On, Hop Off). Convenient for travelers. This hotel is in city center…. some homeless but safe. Worked great for us. Their concierge service/personnel was fantastic. Nice restaurants along the river walkable from hotel. They offered us an upgrade for their lounge, take it! We enjoyed our breakfasts there and a tapas dinner there one night. After touring, we would enjoy a beverage of choice, and a snack all the while enjoying the beautiful space and view.

The staff were lovely and the rooms nice but the catering at our dinner was a disaster when they had specific allergy instructions they didn't follow. Plus the lobby smelled like sewerage. Wifi didn't work for more than a full day

Great hotel with convenience and prime location. Very close to Berlin Friedrichstraße railway station. Lot of restaurants around the hotel, although the hotel restaurant is also good and provides huge spread of breakfast. Museum island is at walking distance.

Fantastic stay at Meliá Berlin. Stayed with The Level experience and loved it. Room on 8th floor with a balcony and great view watching the world go by. Staff at the hotel were all fabulous, check-in, The Level, Concierge and check-out - all lovely people, so helpful, so kind, so professional and with a great sense of humour too. We loved our stay and would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you to all the Hotel Team at Meliá, Berlin.

We were family of 3 on a short tour to Berlin . Our check in was fast. The room is very spacious and the bathroom is very big , especially the bathing area. The rooms are kept very clean and well kept. Morning breakfast was very good as there was a separate vegan section, and we had good vegetarian options like pasta , sauted vegetables .the entire team was courteous and friendly. The hotel is so well located, close to metro , and all important sightseeing locations are e 15-20 minutes walk.Good eating joints nearby. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Great location and very clean! My only criticism is that the lights and some of the plugs are on the same switch on the electrical circuit. For example, you can't charge your phone or plug anything into the nightstand plug while having the lights turned off.

Staying here during Berlin marathon / September 2023. Morning buffet line is fantastic. Room is nice, spacious but no amenities in the bathroom except shampoo, lotion, etc. Everything else is available upon request which then rely on staff service. The service felt much under par for this level of hotel. Took them 25 min and a follow-up call to bring a toothpaste. No complimentary drinking water for which I assume we can drink from the tap. Later I used the bathtub and realized the water color was yellowish so in the end not sure if it’s actually drinkable? Also the bathtub clog can’t hold the water well so I couldn’t use the bathtub properly as the water kept slowly draining. The worst part is internet was out of service the last day of my stay - From the late afternoon and throughout the whole night (omg!) I only found out after 10 min trying to call the guest service but no one picked up. Once they did, the reply was yes, there is a problem with our internet and they don’t know how long it will take to resume the service. I ended up having to work on my roaming data. So unacceptable.

Excellent location of the hotel with a view of the river. logistically excellently positioned for visiting the city. The hotel itself does not stand out and deserves an average rating.

Nice place to sit outside and enjoy tapas. Some portions are quite small, though, e.g. the patatas or croquetas. Sangria is tasty

It was so quiet and empty and the only time I saw any other guests was during breakfast. This was due to the fact that Germany still had a partial lockdown and international travel from the UK was allowed. We upgraded to the balcony room and we had Rituals bath and body care in the room. Also we had a personal gym as only one party was allowed as a time slot. Not sure if that has changed. We got the full treatment as we would expect from a 4 star hotel unlike other places we have been to. There was no concierge service maybe due to the fact that it was running on a lower capacity. The staff were great and friendly and the breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had with a large variety and Starbucks grade latte on tap. Definitely a must stay in fact I’m going back again soon!! I suggest getting the upgrade to a bigger room with balcony and better view. You watch the world go by from 7 floors up.

Unfortunately it seems the corona situation has affected the performance of the Hotel. The room was not equipped properly, although staff provided us when we asked for something. The breakfast was also not on paar with the previous reviews. The cleanliness was great as expected.

    1. No WIFI In the room 2. No housekeeping Not good services as expected. At day 2, while leaving the room in morning, we added the tag for 'make my room' But when we came back, it was other side 'do not disturb'. When called the room service, no one picked the call and at the end of the day, housekeeping staff came to make the room when their supervisor asked us that is everything good with room and we said no, nobody cleaned the room. Then they wanted us to immediately vacate the room for cleaning 😑

Paid 6,50€ for a 0,2 glass (half of which was ice) of "summer wine" since the waitress told us that the kitchen "didn't want to make" a half liter of sangria on a Saturday afternoon. Never again.

Still serving food at 10.30pm. Great tapas. Tonight, there was a guy playing live traditional guitar who was fabulous .. my only slight grumble is the lighting. You can’t really fully appreciate the food because the lighting is too orange. However if you are just going for a drink... this makes it more atmospheric.

Located on the ground floor of the Meliá Hotel. This tapas bar is a nice place for a drink and some light food. The bar is extensive with some great cocktails on offer. The tapas is decent, nice selection of food and the quality is good. Overall it's a good place for a chilled out evening!

DO NOT GO IF ENGLISH I went a couple of years ago and the manager was extremely racist towards the English and English speaking people. (An American couple was behind us and they got the same treatment) Disgusting

Really wonderful food, with a great range of dishes available. The service is fast, friendly and professional, with dishes being explained thoroughly when needed. The set menus are a good way to order, with customisation for some of the cold dishes and salads. There's a good selection of wines also that won't break the bank.

Good hotel. Nice classical decorated rooms and good beds. The best thing about the hotel is the staff, they are really friendly and helpful to give you the best stay. I had a problem with my expectations of the executive lounge, expected food with a menu during the day. Nina Dangel and her team helped me out with this and gave a good solution. Because of this I would definitely recommend this hotel.

  • 5/5 Mehmet K. 2 years ago on Google
Stayed for 3 days. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Breakfast was a class above other hotels in Berlin that cost the same. Fitness center + sauna was a pretty good experience as well. Will choose Melia again next time!

  • 3/5 Steve A. 1 year ago on Google
Rooms are well furnished with comfortable bed. Room temperature was too warm and air conditioning system was not very good. Shower in the bath was not easy to access and slippery, I'm not sure why hotels continue with this arrangement. Update. After I paid and left the hotel they charged me for another night. It would appear their systems and checks are not very good. At this time two days after leaving I'm still trying to get the unauthorised payment returned.

Located in the city center, just across the main train station Friedrichstrasse. Easy access to anywhere in Berlin. Hotel is clean and nice, not very big lobby but quite a good space. Friendly and easy check-in. Room is nice and clean. Safety box and hair dryer are available, however we could get any kettle. Calling to receptionist or room service was quite challenging, that was on Sunday afternoon. Wifi inside the room was average, not a good speed.

  • 3/5 Ariel W. 1 year ago on Google
Great location. However, on arrival our bathroom was unacceptably dirty with brown water in the toilet and nasal extrement on the shower wall. So while the value is good, it cannot make up for shoddy cleaning standards. Beware there was construction starting 7am that woke us up. Service was indiferent. Parking is convenient.

  • 5/5 Marina S. 1 year ago on Google
Perfect location, right next to the Friedrichstrasse station. The standard room (where I stayed) was very spacious, withhuge bed, comfort matress and pillows. The view was nothing spacial, however there are rooms with great view to the canal. Breakfast was amazing!

The location is in the center of Mitte in the famous street Friedrichstraße. Close to many attractions. The rooms are new and very clean. The staff are very helpful. The level floor (lounge) is perfect . Definitely will return again

Well located near tourist attractions and public transport. Very easy to get to central train station and airport. Rooms have working air con and hotel has a great gym which came in use during heat wave this summer when running outside was a challenge! No coffee in the room unless you pay a fee or upgrade - requested a coffee machine and turned we’re down which felt very cold despite staying several days. Construction across road and room was noisy and should have been discounted as such but was not. If there’s continuous construction and hotel keeps getting complaints, should discount rate or not put guests in those rooms.

  • 4/5 Elizabeth F. 2 years ago on Google
Very nice. Double check when the dining room closes. We were a group of 75 people and it was closed before we could get there. They could have made a lot of money that night. Rooms were very nice but short on plug-ins next to bed.

  • 2/5 Emi K. 1 year ago on Google
It says 4* but, their standard rooms are not 4*! I wasn’t happy when I saw my empty room with no amenities( maybe cleaning person forgot) and no kettle. There were some towels and shampoo at least. My point is a 4 star hotel’s standard room should be 4 star standard.
