Rooms where so well decorated back in the day that it looks like they are frozen in the time. They also are perfectly clean and without strange odours. In the sleeping area you find exactly one socket to charge 1 device. It's next to the bed, so perfect for chill working or video calls with shutdown camera. In the badroom latest move-detections technology turns on&off the light and fan, so no need to touch a switch with dirty hands. The fan generates a smooth wind sound that will kindly remind you to your incoming flight to Berlin. Additionally, you find an exquisite liquid soap in the shower that will lighten up your day. Luckily is the same one to wash your hands so the refreshing experience continues in the whole cycle. Location is excellent. If you also have to pay 150€ per night and run out of budget, you can find a Netto open till 22:00 to satisfy your stomach with some German delights. If you are more of bigger pockets, you have the option to cross the street with 1 min walk and enjoy a Greek restaurant with proper food. Most likely I will come again.

15-minute walk to the train station, or 7 minutes to the tram and buses. Quick & smooth check-in & check out. Clean but not spotless, friendly staff, comfortable sized room, supermarket just right across the road. Good housekeeping, our room was cleaned every day of out stay. Not worthy for a long stay Old stoned age TV that didn’t even work. Horrible Wi-fi, no wi-fi connection at all. I had to use my data. No fridge or even a kettle.

Rooms were good and beds were comfy. Though their plasticy sanitary sheets made them quite sweaty in hot weather. Also the room did not have blackout/dark curtains, only thin light curtains so it was too light to sleep in mornings or days, and you know, ppl might have a need for such in Berlin, if you know what I mean. The reception was decent, the cleaners kept trying to enter despite putting the no cleaning sign so they kinda walked in on us while in bed/partly undressed, 2 times. Location was good but not brilliant, like a little walk to metro or tram.

The hotel was refreshingly cool and comfortable. The air conditioning provided a pleasant escape from the heat outside. The room had good ventilation, and the temperature was just right. It was a relief to return to the hotel after a long day and enjoy the cool ambiance. The hotel's cooling system was definitely a refreshing aspect of my stay.

Poor Service and rude behaviour of person on night duty at reception. Rooms are not air conditioned and no Facility of Fan with 32 degrees Celsius. They were unable to provide fan even after request. Cleanliness of room particularly of carpet is also very bad.Alot of noise from outside. Terrible Experience

Weird experience. This is the first time I was in Berlin. I was trying to book 2 days before my stay and there were not many options available for my selected days. I don't have any good references to compare to when it comes to Germany, maybe it is standard there. I've staid in hotels in Sweden, Norway, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Austria and also in a few hotels in Asia and I must admit this was the worst place I've ever been to. It is very dirty and not maintained for a while, first thing I noticed is the dirty walls and carpets, the bathroom was full of dust in the corners, the shower head was disgusting, the towels are on a budget. Lack of electricity outlets was a surprise also, I've never thought I would complain about this in 2022. The pillows are also bad. No air-conditioning, if you try to get a nap during the day with the windows open then the noisy street is a big issue. The breakfast was decent though and the service is well. To sum it up though, I never thought that these kind of 'Hotels' exist in western Europe. I talked with some people that were staying in Berlin during the same time and we concluded that for the same price you can get much better options in Berlin for the same price.

The worst and disgusting place you ever want to be , especially paying such a huge price. We couldn’t find any room in the other hotels and had to book this one from Expedia where the hotel is specified as 3.5 star. The reception and the hotel building looks appealing and will trick the boarders to check in. Once you check in, the ghastly place will make you puke!!! The reception staff are dressed so appropriately that no other 5 star rated hoteliers wouldn’t be their match. There is no AC in the rooms. You just have to open the windows. No lighting near the door entrances, you should enter in and turn on the bedroom lights for visibility near the entrance. The window curtains have stains. The bed given to us has sheets with stains. The carpets are disgusting with the stains. We paid $550 EUR for 3 nights stay as we have no choice, but this hotel doesn’t deserve such huge tariffs if they intend to keep their carpets the same.

Rooms were good enough. Clean and everything you need with a smart TV. Bathroom light being a sensor was a bit annoying as it’d go off when you were in shower. Room service came a bit too early in the morning. Location isn’t brilliant but you can easily walk to train station and getting to everywhere you need. Aldi and a few other supermarkets right next door.

Good prices. cleanliness ok. very noisy behavior of the cleaning staff and very noisy rearranging of furniture, vacuuming, slamming doors in the morning. Even though I had to check out by 1 p.m., the cleaning lady still left at 12 p.m. it's very unprofessional.

Rooms are fine and clean, one thing we didnt like is room service that is entering the rooms without knocking while guests are still inside, early in the morning and they leave windows opet all day long so rooms are cold when you get back there. Location is fine, bus station is 6-7 min by walk, recepcion is nice. We recommend if you stay for 2-3 night long.

Room service were very rude they opened the door on us while we were sleeping and they were making alot of noise while cleaning which made us not feel safe and the receptionist took from us 20€ as a deposit for the boiler in the room. Location is far away from public transportation 20 mins walk but the area is clean and safe.

Reception staff were helfu6and friendly. Room was roomy and beds where very comfortable. The only downside was the bald bloke kn restaurant didn't even smile or speak to us. But spoke happily to German guests

There are no special facilities in the room. To have an electric kettle, you have to pay a deposit of twenty euros. In terms of location, there is no good access to public transport such as S-Bahn and Oban. Hotel staff are not very friendly. At checkout, you have to pay about six euros as a tax, in addition to the room charge. This hotel cannot be recommended. I will not go there again.

Lovely cheap but functional hotel. Stayed in a triple room with my family and had a pleasant stay. Close proximity to local shops, 10 minute walk to nearest U Bahn station. Yes it's a bit far out of the city centre but worth it for the price

I recently stayed at this hotel for one night. Unfortunately, the room lacked air conditioning and was quite noisy due to the road in front of it. Moreover, the rooms appeared outdated and dirty, resembling a bygone era from the DDR days.

Horrible. They must pay for fake reviews so watch out. No air conditioning, old & dusty furniture, noisy in the night.

It got all you need for a budget stay. Yes, it is not modern and there is no air conditioner in rooms, wifi is 2-3 Mbit max. Although rooms are clean, you can get decent help at the counter. Breakfast is also slightly better than a typical minimalistic german one. I think you should consider pay significantly more if you want to upgrade your hotel stay in Berlin.

Bedding had stains. Room service came into the room every morning even though a do not disturb sign had been hung on the door. We even got school by one of the cleaners on how the sign worked, and we told them to take a look and what do you know, it said do not disturb so they will just walk into the room without even checking. Please give your cleaners more training on how to read signs, or I'm just going to assume they knew what they were doing and were trying to look for valuables to take.

Rooms looked neat, power sockets are hidden. No air conditioning. Waterlogging issue in the bath tub in the bathroom as shown in the video. Water drains only after 5mins from the time you take shower. Needs plumbing work to clear the water logging issue.

Floors are well worn down. The hotel is in a need of renovation. There is a smart tv in the room so you can stream your own Netflix.

Really good, cheap hotel. Only disadvantage is that there is no air conditioner in the room.

We stayed here for two nights as my husband had to travel for work. The basics are covered in the sense that the beds are comfortable and the shower and heating work. However our room was plagued with tiny fruit flies for some reason. The first night i thought they might have come because we had a window open. But during the next day and night even more showed up. Until this day we have no idea where they came from. Our perception of the staff in the reception was that they were unfriendly, when we checked in we received just one key and when i asked for another the receptionist was very annoyed and asked if i really needed it. No one explained to us how the cleaning, breakfast or wifi worked. So my husband went back to the reception to ask, this time another receptionist didnt even looked or talked to him, only gave him a piece of paper with the password. And about the wifi, it works for things like messages but the next morning i had to do some online work and the connection was so slow and bad that i couldnt work. On the positive sides, the bar woman at night was very friendly and helpful also the breakfast had a lot of options and was very delicious. We booked this hotel because we had a great experience with the GoodMorning Copenhagen hotel but i would only recommend the berlin one if you dont need to spend any time at the hotel. And you could probably find a better price and location for that.

This place is not fancy by any means, but it is perfectly suitable for a trip to Europe when the majority of your time is not in your hotel room. I will say the water pressure in the hot water made for the best shower one can experience.

**Positive Highlights:** - Spacious rooms with comfortable beds are suitable for solo travelers; however, couples may find the combined single beds uncomfortable. - Pleasant lobbies and a well-stocked bar add to the hotel's positive aspects. **Negative Experiences:** - During a winter stay, encountered issues with the room heater not functioning properly despite attempts to resolve it. - Disappointed by the absence of a kettle in the room; guests were required to pay a €20 deposit for a kettle, an unexpected inconvenience. - Electrical issues emerged when using the provided electric blowers for heating, causing disruptions in room lighting. - Unsatisfactory response from maintenance; no resolution was provided even after repeated attempts to address the heating issue. - Housekeeping entering rooms without prior notice or permission, which felt intrusive and inconvenient. **Location & Accessibility:** - Limited public transport options; only the 240 number bus served the nearby stop, approximately a 5-minute walk from the hotel. - Inconveniently situated, requiring 30 to 40 minutes via public transport to reach the city center. **Overall Impression:** - Not recommended for winter stays due to unresolved heating issues and inconvenient facilities. - Suggests considering higher-rated 3 or 5-star hotels in the area for a more satisfying experience. - Suitable primarily for accommodation purposes; not recommended for travelers relying on public transport to explore the city. - No complimentary water bottles provided; guests advised to purchase or bring their own water, with vending machines being unreliable. *Note: Breakfast was not chosen, therefore unable to comment on its quality.*

Super hotel! We needed just for 1 night and it was very good choice on last-minute. Very clean room, bathroom. And the best was breakfast (which is included in price if you book via their official site or HRS.de!) On 3star hotel the breakfast is wow, good quality products, even cheese like Brie, croissants, good coffee... Simply not every 4star has such good food. Parking is large, we came late at 22:00 and there wasnt free place, but found place on the street, good news that in this disctrict all parking places are for free (no paid zones)

I haven't had that good of a breakfast variety in every 4/5 star hotel I visited. Rooms are clean, tidy, nothing luxurious but for a short term and for the price plus free parking I can't complain about anything. Would definitely return at any point.

Was very disappointed when we arrived, we were given a smokers room which was horrendous and immediately asked to change, we were offered a new room but it was not as advertised in the adverts. I would take caution staying here as there are other 'budget' hotels that offer better service. There is no Internet and the staff were quite rude in letting me know it wasn't their problem. Breakfast was meh and bland but filled me up and was edible... Lol. I have added pictures because it was grim and we only stayed a couple of nights before going to a different hotel, we would have gone the same day but couldn't fine anywhere straight away.

The rooms are big, the bed sheets are clean and new but the furniture is very very old and used. Most of the things should be changed or replaced with new ones. The interior is so old, needs a refreshment. The carpet was the most disgusting thing - there were many spots and stains from the previous people. Obviously it should be replaced with another type of flooring which can be easily cleaned. We were in the middle of some teenager group so they were having a party all night so we couldn't sleep even for one minute. At least we got full compensation for this terrible night. Don't recommend.

A Soviet style hotel - the room, the bath, the curtain, the corridor linoleum, the room service, and almost everything seems from 1990s. But it's clean, not expensive, and the breakfast is really good.

Loud, carpets not too clean and often smells. Ridiculous elevator. Service coming in despite of "do not disturb" label. Good price.

  • 5/5 Justin H. 2 years ago on Google
Clean rooms, nice shower, plenty of hot water and good pressure. The breakfast was AMAZING, full of a variety of foods. This wasnnt just a continental breakfast with fruits and some pastries... This was a full on breakfast with meats, fish, cheeses, eggs, yogurts, breads, salads, etc. WiFi was very weak and honestly we could never use it, but the great breakfast made up for that. About an 8 block walk to the nearest subway station.

I have COUNTLESSLY called the hotel to request a refund for a reservation I have on the 26th this month and still have yet to receive a reply. The one time they did reply, they very rudely placed me on hold and then cut the line. I have tried DM’ing their Instagram AND emailing them. Yesterday evening someone also picked up but the man was very snappy and rude for no reason. Berlin Hotel City East, give me a refund and get back to me URGENTLY. I don’t recommend this horrible unorganised hotel to ANYONE. Save yourself the money and go somewhere else.

This is by far the most dirty Hotel i have ever been. Marks on the carpet everywhere. Yeast in the shower. And if you come on Friday good luck to get a parking slot. Wifi is very slow. We didnt get a large bed as booked. Overall i cant suggest this to anyone. And the worse of all is the fact that in previous complains they always say they take care but actually they dont. Just scroll down and see that they didnt improve a bit. When we checked out they didnt say thanks for staying or goodbye. I was in Vietnam and China in a hotel which was cleaner than this

  • 3/5 Cora D. 1 year ago on Google
Good prices for the rooms(like really cheap), but the room seems like they haven't changed it decors since the 90s. Not the cleanest. Excellent service though and probably a good choice to be in Berlin at least. A big minus was the broken lights in the bathroom before we even checked in. The personal really try to do their best. A bit fun that they seem to love IKEA furnitures.

This hotel was really great, from the staff greeting the the room rental, everything was very smooth and pleasant. The one and only small issue is that the carpets are a little worn, though this very small detail is eclipsed by all the good things. Late at night, there is some noise from other guests, though it wasn't enough noise to disturb us. The location wasn't great, though not bad either. We were very pleasantly surprised by Good Morning+ Berlin and would recommend it to anyone looking for a very comfortable and safe place to stay.

Cons: The rooms have no air-conditioning so on hot nights we had to sleep with our windows open and the street outside was very busy and noisy. Although the rooms were clean is was very outdated and I tried my best not to think about the carpet. The location is terrible. It took us nearly an hour to get to and from the city. There's no refrigerator in the room to have cold beverages available. The TV is ancient. You can hear every little noise in the hall especially since they put us next to the elevator. There was only 2 pillows in the room so we only had one each. Pros: I found the staff at the front desk to be very friendly and helpful. They have a very large breakfast buffet. The shower had plenty of water pressure and the soaps smelled nice.

If you've ever been to Soviet summer camps, you will understand how rooms and corridors look and smell like. Photos don't match reality at all. Would pay for such kind of room up to 15€/nicht, but not a cent more. The stuff although, is very friendly and helpful

  • 2/5 Olly F. 1 year ago on Google
Friendly staff and greeting, allowing me to check in early. Room was clean, including the bathroom, towels, bedding and curtains were far too small. I'm not a fan of 2 single beds stuck together instead of a double but it's a budget hotel. Breakfast was fresh and typical continental style, I'm no huge fan but it's as I expected. I was a little put off when I was only told at check in that the restraunt was closed, so I was refunded 18 euros a night which was less than ideal. It would have been nice to be told in advance so I could plan for this. Transport links are very good. The bathroom had automatic lighting - which in the middle of the night was useful as you didn't have to search for a light switch or cord. However, it also had a very loud and annoying extractor fan that was also automatic and took around 10-15 mins to switch off. The wi-fi did not work, which was disappointing.

  • 2/5 Willem P. 1 year ago on Google
The staff was friendly and helpful but the hotel is very noisy with sounds from both inside and outside. Also the carpet was very worn out and the room didnt appear to be very well cleaned as there was still hair in the bedroom .

We arrived at 11:30 in the evening to the 24 hour reception only to be greeted by the Desk Receptionist who didn't seem to have any interest or was there any welcome greeting. The basic check in was an effort. Pointed to the lift and said "That Way" We went to our room and yes Basic was an understatement. Bare as, carpets very dirty, furniture very grubby. Two glasses siting on a coffee table no sign of ant water, no fridge. Went to reception to see if I god get a Bottle of water only to be told Vending Machine is down the corridor. As we had just arrived obviously we hadn't had opportunity to get Euro's. Well that was just our bad luck as He the Receptionist could not care, and said cant help you. Wouldn't recommend this venue unless you had no other option Massively overpriced for No Service, Poor Rooms Phil & Kate

We decided to stay at the GoodMorning + Berlin City East hotel and we were thoroughly disappointed. The staff at the reception was extremely Rude, especially Connie. At 12:05 she called the room phone and threatened us with a Surcharge, while we were packing our bags. We felt very uncomfortable and rushed. However, the rooms are a decent size and the cleaning staff is wonderful and definitely makes sure to leave the room in a nice shape. Aside from the location being where god lost his sandals, and the genuinely unwelcoming staff. It’s a good hotel if you just need to sleep. The two stars are for the cleaning staff and their kindness.

I don't want to sound rude, but it was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at (and I am not even a picky person). The carpets throughout the hotel (except the reception) are full of huge dirty stains (water infiltration, food stains, God knows what else). The furniture is old and to me the tepestry of the chairs somehow dirty(I put a towel on my chair before sitting down). My company paid for this hotel without knowing how bad the conditions are. It is not the fault of the people working there ( the guys at the reception were nice, the restaurant workers seemed also ok), but of the owner and of the institutions responsible for the hygiene control in hotels. That this hotel (in a developed country) is still allowed to function, it blows my mind.

  • 4/5 Krzysztof R. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms were clean although the carpets have seen better days. They weren't dirty but definitely should be replaced. I appreciated the free parking space. Overall was ok.

  • 4/5 Nick Usalis K. 2 years ago on Google
It's a decent hotel that gets the job done. The property can use some refreshing including getting rid of the carpet as posted by others. However, the service was good and the breakfast better than expected. My family would definitely stay here again. A great value for money.
