Die Lage machts! Was für ein toller Ort. Verweilen direkt am Wasser. Qualität der Speisen für die verlangten Preise klar unter der Erwartung. Hat mich nicht überzeugt. Nur 1 Person im Service während hinter der Bar drei Leute rumblödelten. Man muss dich hier halt keine Mühe geben mit der Lage, das merkt man.

View was nice and food was good. We had two very sweet servers (one female, one male with darker hair). However the reason we are giving only 1 star is because we felt very unwanted and unwelcome by one particular staff member with blonde curly hair. He gave off the very Berlin “better than you” attitude. He sat us at a large table in the back because he said they were keeping the tables along the water for reservations only (totally understandable if a restaurant is ACTUALLY busy!) but when we saw a table free up and kindly asked if it was possible to be reseated he very rudely told us no. For the duration of our meal the table remained empty and one by one more tables along the water freed up. The restaurant was anything but busy. (See the photos I posted) Customer service clearly wasn’t his strong suit. We also noticed he was quite rude to his fellow staff members. At one point he was even gossiping about some customers and rolling his eyes. Doesn’t make you feel very comfortable here. Won’t be returning.

READ BEFORE YOU GO. This restaurant and the managers that is on the video tried to charge us illegally 15€ per piece for bringing outside food. Here is the story — since we arrived late and the kitchen was already closed, we decided to order a bottle of wine and two cocktails while letting the stuff know in advance that we will get food from outside. Minutes later, the manager that’s on the video, came and started demanding payment of 15£ per piece for the outside food that we ordered. We explained that this is because the kitchen was closed and that we really did not want to leave the restaurant considering that we already ordered a bottle of wine and some cocktails. The manager then started shouting on us and threatened us that if we do not pay 15€ per person for the outside food that we got, he will call the police and get us kicked. He then started shouting in front of all customers to another waiter “get them out” in German (we were non-German) while dialing the police to escort us which was very unnecessary as we have already finished our bottle of wine and the cocktails, and were on our way out. What he should have done is telling us in a nice pleasant manner in English that outside food is not allowed. He failed as a problem solver and a manager in our eyes - a real manager would have handled this differently. What a shame, really, as we had a reservation for tomorrow during lunch time as we really wanted to try the food. The restaurant’s staff and management needs training and to loosen up their tone with their paying customers as I see other have similar complaints, too..

Been there today for brunch (Sunday).  The service was uncomplicated, cool and warmly friendly!  Even got lucky with the weather. The sun smiled at me 🌞.  (Of course I smiled back;-). You can feel Berlin's "original flair" and it just feels really great - simply super cozy!  The restaurant is also open in winter - lucky me!  A huge plus is the location right on the water🏞. I personally love the water more than anything! So, I will soon have to say: "Hello, again"...💚

Nice place to spend a warm summer night in Berlin. Sitting outside at the canal really captures the spirit of the city. Service is overall good, menu is pretty traditional European cuisine and the food is absolutely fine. Some nice drinks on the menu as well, although I wouldn't have minded to see some more exotic beers. Staff is nice, most spoke both German and English I noticed. Overall a nice experience!

Food Quality: the food was amazing. Shared the lamb rack and every bite was exquisite. Portions: very nice portions. Plates very well built Drinks: quite a few options to have. Aperol Spritz are well made. Price: $$-$$$ of course depending what you choose, there are some pricier plates, but also some very decent priced ones. The food will prove its worth. Service: very friendly staff and always making sure that everyone is happy and is well served. Atmosphere: from outside it doesnt look like much, even a bit hard to even think there is a restaurant down the sketchy alley, but once you get in, it is an amazing location. Just by the riverside, and even has seating outside for the better weather. Highlights: food and the terrace are a big plus here. Things to improve: maybe a little make over to the entrance and the sign outside.

Went there for a drink as location of the restaurant is pretty cool. Price was okay, and service was fine at first. But when we called one of the servers to get our bill, he gave us the attitude. He just sort of pointed his finger as if we bothered him lol and didn’t even say anything or look at us. I was surprised, and so is my bf. Anyway, i just read all previous reviews and seems like this has always been an issue about them.

Went for dinner with a friend. Nice atmosphere, cute View of the canal (I bet that for brunch / lunch it’s even nicer). The grill vegetables dish was perfect and good option for vegans . I also ordered the ceviche and avocado and it was incredible. Kudos to the chef.

Location is very nice but service and quality is not so much satisfactory. We were 6 on Sunday afternoon, we ordered 6 drinks and 5 cakes . Instead of 5 cakes came 6 cakes and 5 spoons. After a wile we did not received our drinks. We were nearly finished our cake but our drinks are not there , after we asked about our drinks replied they lost our order tocken , it will arrive soon . Finally arrived the drinks after we finished our cake arrived our drinks but one drinks is wrong. Very much disappointing.

Been a year since we had a great cake experience here. At night, things change. The music is not hypnotic, it's basically a drum machine...it fits better in an art gallery, that you can pass through, and leave. The service is excellent. But the food waivers from acceptable to very much not. The chefs panick over "you can have BBQ later, sometime/you can't have BBQ ever/you can habe BBQ now" is indicative of most of what we eat. The fish is great, but unevenly cut and therefore unevenly cooked. And this was the best of all we tried. Soggy felafel, rock hard tofu (tempe?), inconsistently textured and flavoured mousse, cold, old roast potatoes just don't cut it.

Wir waren heute zum Brunchen dort. Das Ambiente und die Lage sind super. Das Buffet kostet 25,50 € inklusive eines Getränkes (Kaffeespezialität oder Tee). Es war alles echt lecker. Das Publikum ist sehr gemischt aber zum Großteil Touris. Der Typ vom Service war wirklich bemüht, aber die leeren Teller wurden nur nach Bitte abgeräumt. Außerdem gab es in dem ganzen Laden keine einzige funktionierende Pfeffermühle.

Schönes Plätzchen am Wasser. Das Essen war lecker und der Service gut. Minuspunkt für das WC und weil das Restaurant nicht Raucherfrei war. An den Nachbartischen wurde geraucht und das finde ich nicht gut!

Schon vor unserer Reise nach Berlin habe ich dieses Restaurant auf meine Favoritenliste gesetzt. Wir hatten Glück und haben auch ohne Reservierung spontan an einem Abend einen Platz (auße, aber überdacht) mit wunderschöner Aussicht auf die Spree bekommen. Das Ambiente ist einfach wunderschön und wir haben den Abend mit diesem fantastischem Ausblick genossen. Wir hatten jeder eine Vorspeise, Hauptgang und haben Desserts. Alles mundete uns sehr. Wir waren begeistert. Egal ob Fleisch, Fisch oder Flammkuchen, alles war gut abgeschmeckt und perfekt gebraten. Lediglich dem "Brotsalat" (mir fehlen gerade die genauen Bezeichnungen, fehlte es ein wenig an besonderer Note. Mein persönliches Highlight war zum Dessert die doppelstöckige Schokotorte mit Pistazien. Wirklich ein Traum. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und würden uns nicht 500km trennen, dann wären wir häufiger dort. Haben aber bei vielen Bekannten in und um Berlin schon fleißig die Werbetrommel gedreht. 😉

Nice place, good view, good ambient. The service is a little bit slow. Not happy faces around not at all a sense of good service. The reception is slow the people in that position are distracted or maybe there is not much personal working. Food, drinks and atmosphere make it worth.

A hidden gem, off the beaten path, on the water. This little shabby chick restaurant has a lovely menu of healthy, delicious food with tables right on the water. It feels like you’re on a house boat. I highly recommend it.

The highlight of this place is the location itself. The place is on one canal bank and it's a really good experience to have a beer there. There was no much option of food and beers, but it stills worth the visit because of the view. I had an hamburger that was too much coocked and it was also expensive regarding what was offered.

Nice place for drinks in the area. Food is decent by Berlin standards but you would definitely go there more for the vibe than the food. Expect it to be busy on weekends but the staff are casual and genuine. Been here a few times in the past few years and always had a good time.

Great food and atmosphere on the river, staff is nice. We had brunch, and it was quite good. Their was a miscommunication about our order and the waitress guilted us into paying for it at full price rather than admitting the error, but the food and drinks were delicious, so oh well.

I had the pork roast it was amazing. Nice locale. Read other people's comments, my food was stellar. Also had the guacamole cream cheese dip. To die for so good. Get these two things I promise they won't disappoint!

Despite the negative reviews we were having brunch there for a small birthday party group. The atmosphere is great, especially outside at the waterfront. The food was good, not outstanding, but totally fine for a casual brunch. In addition to the buffet, various egg dishes such as Egg Benedict are included in the price which were very tasty. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The service was really fast. Prices are totally fine for the place and food. I think they made some changes after some negative reviews and it seems to be paying off. Absolutely recommendable.

Wonderful experience . This place is located in a very convenient location. I would definitely visit again whenever I'm in Dresden

Wir waren vor sieben Jahren das letzte Mal dort. Das Teil ist klassische Berliner Shabby Chic. Die Lage am Wasser mit dem Blick auf die hängenden Gärten gegenüber ist schon klasse. Unsere Bedienung war super. Aber den Gesprächen der Kellner und Kellnerinnen war zu entnehmen, dass es einen Kollegen gab, der wirklich richtig schlechten Service abgeliefert hat und manchmal einfach 1 Stunde zum Rauchen gegangen ist. Den haben wohl viele der Mitrezendenten erleben dürfen. Anscheinend wurde diese Servicekraft aber entlassen. Das Brunchbuffet, die frisch zubereiteten Eier und Getränke waren sehr gut. Croissants waren sehr lecker und die warmen Speisen auch. Kuchen Buffet war teilweise vom Vortag, aber in Ordnung. Ist ja super, wenn gute Qualität noch verwertet wird. Wir haben allerdings aber auch die Preise der Abendkarte gesehen und fanden die völlig überzogen. Brunch okay, vor allen Dingen, wenn man mit Kindern unter sechs Jahren da ist, da die nur ihre Getränke bezahlen müssen. Kinder ab zwölf Jahren bezahlen 12,50 € Erwachsene 25,50€. So steht es jedenfalls in der Karte. Auf der Website steht bis fünf Jahre kostenfrei. Aber letztendlich gilt, dass was in der Karte vor Ort steht.

We had the Rose Veal and it was amazing (I recommend), we also had the classic Flammkuchen (like German pizza) and it was also delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. It's located by the water, which I'm sure would be awesome during summer, but we visited during winter so it was dark and cold.

Outstanding place, nice personnel. Food is okay, nothing stunning though (nice salads and pasta, the burger was not the best I ever ate). The phone numbers on Google are outdated, the administrators are aware of that but don't move.

Good food, friendly service and well organised (if you have a reservation which in the summer I recommend you get). The location is unique and definitely worth a visit.

Usually there is a line to enter this place. Service is nice, food (we tried flammenkuchen) was very tasty and delivered very fast despite high number of customers. We wanted to move to another table and was not allowed to this for some reason even though the table remained free even until we left.

Great atmosphere by the river. Food is good but the service is slow. They are clearly understaffed. But they are still always very friendly and trying their best. Always came here with a reservation so never had to wait for a table, so I’d recommend that.

Absolutely loved this place! Amazing setting on the river and the food was incredible. Not many options which is perfect as it was so difficult to decide. The Yellow Beet salad was a great starter and don’t skip dessert either. The service was really friendly except for the person on the door but it’s understandable as hospitality has had a rough time recently. I’ll definitely be back soon.

We chose the Freischwimmer for our company summer party. The location, at the very back, in the garden right on the water, was beautiful and appreciated by the whole team. The food was really good, the drinks were great and everything worked well from the start, including music, seating and decor. In the dark, the atmosphere was made even nicer by the lights. Special thanks to the very professional Halina, who supported us perfectly and even fulfilled spontaneous requests confidently and super friendly. Another thank you to Ash and Paul, who were extremely accommodating and available at all times – we'll be super happy to come back!
