Have a nice drink together? Stroll down Kastanienallee and settle down on the spacious terrace of Prater Biergarten. No fuss. Take a seat and enjoy a nice drink or meal!

Clearly they do not care about service at all: the queue is usually 20 min. to get one beer, and instead of opening the other 4 available counters they choose profit over service. Water costs 3€ (Tafelwasser). Don't like this system at all, and don't like how they treat customers. Also, you cannot pay with card, which is pretty annoying (digital Germany right?). 0/0. Location is allright though, but there is Verbesserungspotential. My Berliner Opinion? No bueno.

I visited this place on a quiet day, so I couldn't fully experience the lively atmosphere it might have when crowded. The menu is short but offers typical and tasty German food. I recommend trying it on a busier day to get a better feel of the place.

An absolutely beautiful and quiet beer garden. Reminiscent of a typical Bavarian beer garden with pebbles and delicious beer. The selection and dishes are good and the prices are okay. Unfortunately, it takes a little longer to serve drinks, even if there aren't as many people on site.

Unfortunately there are no more bratwursts, the profit margin on tarte flambée and half chicken is probably considerably higher. There were 10 of us and we were really looking forward to it, but we ended up not eating anything. You also now have to return the glasses yourself for a deposit, which is also annoying. Instead of charming neighborhood unique selling points that have been established for years, the KANZ is copied, with the corresponding profit maximization, which is a shame.

At the Prater Beer Garden, the experience depends heavily on the time of visit. During lunch and afternoon hours, especially during the week, it is a cozy beer garden in the middle of the city where you can relax and have a beer and a bite to eat, play cards and chat under the chestnuts and linden trees. In the later hours it becomes a lively tourist magnet and the restaurant also offers a portfolio of hearty cuisine, as you would expect in a rustic setting like this. But the Prater also offers non-alcoholic and vegetarian alternatives, so everyone gets their money's worth. With its almost 200-year existence, it is also a historical meeting point in old Prenzlauer Berg, which was left untouched by war, division and systems. In any case, a great place to meet up with friends, easy to reach by public transport at any time (tram and subway within walking distance) and also wheelchair and stroller accessible.

The last time I was in this beer garden was about twenty years ago. I found it very pleasant back then and I'm surprised that I didn't come back sooner. no lake or river or any other water, but it still has the charm of a beer garden. the typical dishes were all okay, not a masterpiece, but definitely edible and digestible. the beer prices corresponded to the usual ones. the Prater Pils was good, as was the black beer. The only thing that annoyed me was the long line - somehow unprofessional for a beer garden

I guess for a beer garden, here is not a bad choice. Like many other places, it is a cash-only spot. Foods like sausage are also available here. Nonalcoholic beverages are offered as well, and I recommend the special lemonade. You can not bring food or drinks from outside, but pets are allowed on leash. There is an ice cream shop right outside, and I have seen people bringing their ice cream inside without a problem.

It's a shame... there's nothing left to satisfy your hunger. No bratwurst, no meat loaf, just larger dishes with hefty prices and a pretzel for €2.8 that tastes like it had been thawed several times and baked two days before. The new concept with a beer queue and cash register is not yet well developed. It all takes a long time, even though you wanted to achieve the opposite. After standing for 20 minutes for 2 beers, the card payment machine asks if you would like to give a tip... I don't know what for.. At least the ambience is still great

The oldest biergarten in Berlin but it's not touristy. We were not here in the biergarten season when it's warm and people want to be outside. The beer is so good I couldn't believe it. The ambience was great inside the restaurant. I ordered the Königsberger Klopse which are meatballs in a wine sauce that can compete with anything europe has to offer. Prater is in one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in Berlin in a fun and bustling street.

Great spot! A truly authentic beer garden experience. The non-alcohol beers are amazing. Try the traditional eggs in mustard sauce with mash for a local speciality. Not 5 stars as in my book mash shouldn’t have any lumps.

Ok so it's not the prettiest beer garden but it's big, plenty tables and chairs, nice atmosphere to chill out with friends, fairly clean toilets and the food seemed authentic. Decent choice of drinks and reasonably priced, self service so go to the hatch in the wall and sometimes the queues get long but there seems to be plenty staff serving and clearing glasses from tables etc.

Nice relaxed ambient, good cold beer. But prices are pretty high, especially for food for which there is not even big choice. you can pick between sausage (even no pommes) and flammkuchen. But we were there during one of the (probably) last warm, sunny evenings this year, so it was still very nice

The Prater Garten beer garden in Berlin is undoubtedly an iconic location. As the oldest beer garden in Berlin, it has a long history and offers a unique ambience that charmingly combines tradition and modernity. If you want to visit the Prater Garden, be prepared for a lively atmosphere. Since it is often busy, there may be waiting times, especially on nice days and evenings. However, this is a sign of how popular this place is. The staff at the Prater Garden is quick and competent, which makes the waiting times a little more bearable. The service is friendly and helpful and you will be served quickly. As far as the offering is concerned, the beer selection is varied and the traditional beer garden cuisine offers delicious dishes that go well with a cold beer. It's a great place to relax with friends and enjoy the Berlin lifestyle. Overall, the Prater Garten beer garden is a Berlin institution and a worthwhile experience for anyone who appreciates the atmosphere of a traditional beer garden and is willing to put up with the occasional wait.

Nice, traditional beer garden in Berlin. Unfortunately, the tarte flambée was a bit sparingly topped (very few vegetables) and was already cold when we picked it up (even though we were told to come by in 5 minutes). The other dishes were all great!

(Translated by Google) On Monday I ordered a table for Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. for three people outside on the terrace and was looking forward to a nice long evening. The food in the Prater is very good, as are the wines. I was greeted warmly on Tuesday - and immediately pointed out that we had to vacate the table at 8:00 p.m. After that we could switch over to the beer gardens. Or sit inside - on a warm July evening, this variant is out of the question. I find the time limit impossible. I don't like this kind of treatment. I would have liked to know this beforehand when I ordered the table. Apparently I should have been told that when I preordered. But it didn't happen. And when I get crowded at 8 p.m., I have to go now please, that makes me angry. The prices in the Prater restaurant are juicy - a little too juicy with this treatment.

In true Berlin fashion, the garden is divided into two sections: the down to Earth, steak-in-a-bun section and the stylised schnitzel area. Both have their charm, and the fence separating them can be crossed without fear of repercussions. :)

We had a great evening at this beer hall! The beer garden was empty, courtesy of some poor weather, but the beer hall was heaving. We were quickly given some drinks (beer for me, wine for her ladyship) and within 5 minutes we were being guided to our table. We both ordered the schnitzel, which was really good, good sized helpings and very tasty. However the atmosphere in the hall was great, lots of people having a good time, catching up with friends. You really should try this place.

(Translated by Google) The dressing was extremely skimpy on the large salad and the side salad. Apparently it was completely forgotten, but there was a little bit on it, still inedible. The chanterelle soup was unfortunately too salty and my dumplings with chanterelle cream were obviously warmed up in the salamander or micro (skin on the sauce and dry spots on the dumpling). Overall disappointing - especially for the very expensive prices. Plus point for the service who was very nice despite criticism and offered me an espresso.

(Translated by Google) Good restaurant with very nice staff and a wider range of dishes than the beer garden immediately following. There is an excellent Wiener Schnitzel and great salads. Of course, Prater beer is also available here with waitresses. Also for Corona times for locals and guests worth a visit.

Lovely place with a great ambience and excellent service. Staff here speaks English and Deutsch and very helpful if you don't speak Deutsch. The prices are not on the cheap side, but the food is great so that definitely makes it worth the visit.

They treated us very bad. The wine was bad smelling and tasting, we asked the bottle to be changed and then found out we paid it anyways. Thieves!!!!

The potato soup was delicious. They can give you a vegetarian option without the sausage. Tastes amazing with some bread.

One of the best beer gardens in Berlin. The prices are affordable, the beer is of good quality and they serve a variety of traditional German food. With a large outdoor space, it is not hard to find a seat during the weekdays, however prepare to come early on a weekend. They have a corona test station out the front if you forget to have your test beforehand!

Check the photos, it's situated in a cool, happening courtyard area. It was a nice evening, so everyone was seated outside. Everything was great, service, ambiance, but especially the food. Can't recommend the schnitzel highly enough, and the potato salad is a work of art. Will definitely return when back in Berlin.

Great German pub food with beers. Very friendly staff and a broad menu of favourites. The kapernklopsen, schnitzel, and Spinatstrudel are particularly good.

A true nice beer garden. We had great food and a lot to drink. I'm not complaining :-)

We only had some beers, the watiers were really kind. The place had a nice atmosphere. This little smoking-cabin was truly the best. It was raining cats and dogs outside, so it was good to hide in. Also the decoration is amazing.

German Cuisine. Good Quality and Nice dining environment. They have a nice Biergarten, so it will be nicer in summer days to enjoy the time with a group of friends there.

Chill spot, great for afternoon wind down. Toilets are impeccably clean at least in the afternoon. Would think this place would look nice at night w fairy lights hanging from the trees

Awsome place to have one, two, or too many beers. Is like a modern take on the typical german long table where you share with others well... some beers. Also you can park your bike if you find a spot.

Way too expensive... 0,3l non alcoholic beer was 4,50€!!!!! Service staff around the tables could be more friendly. No music was played. Lots of options to sit in the shadow. Smoking is allowed in all areas. Not very pleasant. There are better options in Berlin.

Nice outdoor place . Good German food and beer . Need to register before enter, but no need any coronavirus test. Lots of people during the weekend but don’t need to queue too long during the week . We were waiting only few min .

The Prater beer garden was an institution and had been a kind of second living room for us in the summer for many years. We see rising prices everywhere, but the system change in this 2024 season makes us skeptical about the future of this facility. The lack of bratwurst in the menu is regrettable. But if you have to wait in three queues to get a drink replenishment (deposit return, drink delivery on a sunny day at ONE single issue for beer and at another issue for wine and then again at the checkout - which takes a good 30 minutes), then that's it Unfortunately, the visit is no longer a pleasure, but rather a frustration. The season has only been running for two weeks, but there has been no noticeable “learning curve” during our visits so far this season. A pity. It will not work like that. We will have to look for an alternative. That doesn't make up for the beautiful ambience.

👍 The queue can get really long in a very short amount of time. We were lucky and waited for about 5 minutes before placing our order.
