I must say that my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. This was my third visit to the hotel, and I can confidently say that it will be my last. Upon checking into my room, which was Room 548, I encountered a situation that left me baffled and deeply concerned for my privacy. As I entered the room and prepared to take a shower, another guest somehow gained access to my room using their key card. Similar situation happened to us during our previous stay, but the roles were reversed - we walked into somebody else's room. Needless to say, my trust in this hotel has been completely shattered. To make matters worse, the housekeeping standards were abysmal. One of the beds in my room had clearly not been changed, and when I brought this issue to the attention of the hotel staff, their solution was nothing short of absurd. Instead of rectifying the problem themselves, they simply left clean sheets on the bed and expected me to change the bedding on my own. It's as if they wanted me to provide my own room service and turn my stay into a DIY hotel experience. What's even more appalling is that we paid over 200 EUR per night for our stay, expecting a certain level of service and comfort. However, what we received was far from acceptable. Frustratingly, when we reported these issues to the reception, they promised to "investigate" the matter. Regrettably, their commitment to addressing these serious concerns seemed more like an empty promise, as we received no follow-up or resolution from the hotel staff. In conclusion, my recent stay here was a disastrous experience that has left me deeply dissatisfied and concerned about the quality of service and security at this establishment. I will not be returning to this hotel in the future, and I strongly advise others to exercise caution before booking a stay here.

A wonderful hotel. A wonderful location. A fairly reasonable price. The breakfast was nice but overpriced. The rooms were spacious and very modern. I however absolutely despise the use of an app as the room key. We were travelling Berlin which meant we couldnt charge for a long time. What if the phone had no battery? Terrible choice.

Essentially a glorified hostel. For the price, the rooms are drastically under-equipped. No glasses or cups for water, no kettle for a hot drink which you would expect in a hotel room, limited storage facilities for clothes etc. There is a shared kitchen on the first floor, much like a hostel, but this was filthy when we went to use it. Even in a hostel the shared kitchen is generally clean. Our room wasn’t entirely prepared when we arrived and the cleaner ended up walking in, in a rather embarrassing situation. Some of the staff are friendly, some quite rude and uncommunicative. The beds are also awful, cheap mattress on a wooden board that made horribly loud sounds at the slightest movement - making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. Although we’re young and up for a party, and this hotel is definitely geared more towards the younger crowd, we feel we could’ve spent similar money for something more comfortable when coming home in the early hours. Why pay hotel prices to stay in a hostel? The only saving grace is probably the breakfast, which was much better than others I’ve experienced, despite a lot of complaints in these reviews. The bathroom and shower aren’t bad either. EDIT: Upped to a three star as the location is also brilliant, and I think I was just in shock from the state of the kitchen when we tried to go in there. However due to the beds, room facilities etc I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

The room is a little small, but kids love it. Because they have 2 bunk beds. Inside the room they don't provide coffee maker, catle for hot water and glass. However, they have a sharing kitchen on the 1st floor. Great location.

Interesting mix of hostel and business hotel. Close to many office buildings and the east side gallery. Easy access from Ostbahnhof - 45 minutes to the BER airport. Rooms are clean, check in is a little cumbersome and takes longer than needed, esp. if you check in with a small group. There was only one person doing all the check-ins at that time. All the rooms seem to have four beds - great for families with kids. Prices seem to be on the higher side given the small rooms.

Location was spot on: next to a central station with easy airport access, and at the same time half the tourist guide at the doorstep! Interior decoration super cool. Friendly cafe by the reception. The breakfast was overpriced and oversold in the ads. You can't charge this much without cooking specialty recipes, I expected better. In general, price a bit too high.

Very clean and modern room with a very cool design. Clean bathrooms, decent bed with no banging or noises that you can hear from other rooms. Very convenient, a parking lot and a big metro station right across the road, with the Berlin Wall literally next to the hotel. The receptionists were nice and the breakfast was good compared to other hotels ive been to in Germany. I loved it

The breakfast buffet here is amazing, would recommend. The vibe is good, lots of space to sit in the lobby or bar/restaurant area, and they have a cafe on site also. The rooms are comfortable and set up well with some desk space, the only downside is the doors seem very thin because you can hear everyone in the hallway pretty clearly. However everything is clean and the beds and pillows are good. Would definitely come back.

Nice and clean rooms, well decorated. Also has a beautiful lobby which you can wait your for train if it is late after check out. There is also a room where you can put your luggages after check out. Also the app that they have makes the life easier

Nice hotel. Friendly staff. We arrived by night train from Amsterdam at 6:30 AM. We just wanted to get rid of our luggage until we could enter the room at 3 PM. But instead we could enter the room immediately because it was already available. What a service! Hotel also got a nice guest kitchen. By doing some cooking ourselves, we saved a few hundred euros for this trip. Also a very cozy lounge with a library and a (analog) game corner.

Excellent location across the street from train station, wonderful breakfast, fabulous amenities for guests in hotel. Staff was wonderful. Rooms are small but provide what is needed for a good nights sleep. Would stay there again.

I would choose this hotel based on the location alone. Right next to the east side gallery and right next to the s bahn Station so super easy to get to and from the airport and the city centre. The station itself has lots of shops (including a mcdonalds if you fancy it) and lots of coffee and bakery shops. Highly recommend.

Wonderful and progressive hotel with great values. Went to Schulz multiple times and love it. Price and qualtiy are perfect. Rooms are clean. Service is amazing. Breakfast too. Love the cleaning service on demand and the digital locks via the app for you room. Location near Ostbahnhof is perfect. Even on the street side the rooms are fully quiet. Recommend for everyone.

I have stayed three times at Schulz coming to Berlin and have always been very impressed and very happy with my stay. Great location - right by Ostbahnhof so easy to get to from the airport and any other place in Berlin. Staff are friendly, helpful and service always fantastic. Rooms of a high standard, well decorated and very comfortable - and all this for a very reasonable price. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Berlin!

This was an amazing experience. Marek was incredible. So helpful and great at giving tips on and around the city. He took the time out of his busy day to give us suggestions. The room was great and the staff very friendly. Breakfast was also great. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be returning.

Upscale budget hotel. Modern, functional room with basic amenities and no frills. We missed a mini fridge in the room. Breakfast buffet was amazing and the staff were very nice. Location next to Ostbahnhof perfect.

Awesome hotel! Love the total contactless check in and check out method. Very well facilitated, clean comfort bed, shower and room. Amazing breakfast! Love the varieties! I would definitely stay there again.

clean, modern, parking underneath hotel, we did not use the breakfast (expensive) but sufficient alternatives available nearby. Opposite to the Ostbahnhof makes it an ideal hotel, just 2 stops away from Alexanderplatz. Quite some homeless people in the surroundings, makes you feel less at ease doing the 2 min walk from the station to hotel but did not encounter any problems in 4 days

The hotel was really cozy and nicely designed with cool details - and very tidy. The room was also really great, I loved the design! The only minus sides were the pillows that were too big and loose for my taste and I really would have preferred that the bed sheets were made of some other material (like cotton) instead of the flexible and a bit coarse material they were made of. Other than that the room was really pleasant. The staff was really nice and helpful and the location was very good just opposite the Ostbahnhof station and also various bus stops to different directions were close by. Overall a really good experience and I can recommend this hotel!

A very nice hotel in a fantastic location. The bathrooms were excellent and the beds very exceedingly comfortable. The only downside is that I felt like I was at a school camp, the hotel lobby was continually filled with countless school kids who appeared to be on field trips to Berlin. The house brewed beer on tap in the restaurant was lovely.

This place is amazing as it is right next to the historical Berlin wall. You can wake up and look out your window to the amazing sight of the wall and having breakfast. The front desk staff is amazing and speaks English as do most places around the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to travel to Berlin area on a budget. The trainstation is right in front of the hotel with in two hundred meters.

Rooms were modern and clean, and there was an upper bunk for our kid. Mattresses felt a bit on the cheap side. The included breakfast was solid and would rival other nearby establishments for variety, quality and value. Location of the hotel right across the street at the crosswalk from the Ostbahnhof made it convenient to take public transit. It appeared to be very popular with travellers.

Great hotel. Checking in via the app is quick and easy. The room was a bit small but was fine for those few nights. The bathroom was super clean and tidy! Breakfast was good, not a lot of choice but enough. Good morning coffee for breakfast! You don’t have a fridge in the room. The air conditioning worked well, despite the 30 degrees outside. A tip is, bring your own pillow. The pillows are not good at all. Parking is super easy in the garage opposite. We paid €32 for 4.5 days! You are at the Ostbahnhof. So you are super fast in all places in Berlin by metro. So, this is a nice hotel for a city trip to Berlin!

Great location, from the Train station and local bus stops. Provides a great buffet breakfast. Room was spacious and comfortable. Was idea for a night stay in Berlin

It’s a pretty standard hotel, but one of the major issues I experienced was that another guest was in the room I was allocated. The hotel uses a phone and app check in system, and it gave me access to another guest’s room. Luckily, whilst embarrassing, the guest wasn’t in an awkward state. Oh yeah and I found a sock from another guest under the desk. So yeah. No apology from the staff. I won’t book here again .

A hotel as it should be. The rooms are large enough with a nice bathroom. You can't hear anything from the street thanks to the super soundproof windows. I particularly liked the bar and the lounge area with a small deli, where you can get everything you need. Berlin Ostbahnhof is directly opposite, so you can be in the city center in just a few minutes. Can only recommend this hotel

Great hotel at a convenient location. Had a pleasant stay here with my girlfriend and we both enjoyed the cleanliness, quietness and professional staff. Breakfast at the hotel was pleasantly nice with a lot to choose from. Room was spacy and for the price, you can't complain. Location is really convenient, next to Ostbahnhof station which will connect you to the city center in a few minutes time. Also, the surrounding area around the hotel is unique, right next to the East Side Wall which was once a part of the Berlin Wall and is now a place full of interesting graffiti from local artists.

The room Design is pretty, the room is very clean and the location is also good. Unfortunately the bedroom for 4 people is very uncomfortable, too small and the beds upstairs are way to warm in order to be able to sleep there. The breakfast was ok but they didn't have any croissants only bread. Also the juices weren't real juices but actually mixed with water. And there was no fridge in the rooms.

Very very VERY good hotel! People here are so friendly and helpful (e.g. we received very helpful advice where to go, how to go there etc.), rooms are tiny, but comfortable. Breakfasts were very tasty and diverse. The location is quite good also. I recommend this hotel a lot!

Staff is really nice. Rooms are spacious and the hotel has a great location Only downfall is that the cleaners are not really cleaning the rooms good, And also they make so much noise early in the morning so be ready to wake up early on your vacation!

Last December we went to Berlin and had the pleasure to stay at this hotel. The hotel is centrally located in Berlin. Across the hotel you can find the station for the bus, train and tram. Over there you can travel to all places in Berlin, very easily! The breakfast in the hotel is good and various. The staff in the hotel is very friendly. We would like to see you guys again if we would visit Berlin again. Thank you for a nice stay!

Fine hotel that offers small but good rooms. Soundproofing was on point. The double glass does it work pretty well. Breakfast was a bit small but enough to start your day. Cleanness was good, access to the railway was close

Amazing hotel with a good location just in front of the train station and the east side gallery. It is about 15min bike from the center of Berlin. Breakfast is 13€ per person. Rooms are nice. I put 4 stars because we found a lot of hair in our bed and bathroom when we arrived. You can also hear everyone outside of your room

The hotel has an excellent location directly across the road from the Ostbahnhof which has connections to everywhere in the city, as well as international rail connections. The room was comfortable, and all the furniture and fittings were stylish and up to date. We had done some online shopping prior to our arrival, and the hotel very kindly kept all our packages safely for us. It was unexpectedly cold in Berlin during our trip, and the staff kindly brought us additional duvets as soon as we requested them.

Perfectly serviceable budget hotel, located right next to the train station. Room was clean, staff friendly and helpful. Bed was fine, pillows could have been better, but for the price and convenience of location, zero complaints.

  • 4/5 Martyn W. 2 years ago on Google
The hotel is in a decent location with easy travel links nearby, lots of scooters or short walking distance places to eat. The room itself is clean and modern with air-con, and check-in was simple. The cafe downstairs looked nice but it was either closed or mostly sold out of food choice when we checked - so we ate nearby rather than at the hotel. We also asked for an iron to use in our room, as it said we could on the welcome brochure. Instead, we were told we could only use a communal iron in a room somewhere in the hotel. Overall a good stay for the price and I would recommend.

Loved the stay, the hotel is neat and clean, near the trainstation and a quick walk to alexanderplatz, really nice. The room was kinda cold, and I couldnt manage to turn the heater on, thats when I meet the best asset the hotel has to offer, its front desk crew, specially the one that was there the day I needed the most, a lady named Luci, she is really polite and courteous, well versed in everything Berlin has to offer, she was able to help me with my heater problem and pointed me to the best food and fun I could get, and she knows the nicest places to be a tourist. Liked the hotel, LOVED the staff!

It's both cheap and convenient. Also very modern with automated online check in, and your phone is your door key. The rooms are nice, if a little small. Sadly, being by Ostbahnhof, the partying here on a Friday night doesn't stop until well into Saturday morning, so sleep was basically impossible on the first night of my stay.

Great for students (like its name) and young people who travel for fun. Pros: - Location, right next to major train station that goes directly to the Berlin airport - Quick & easy check-in - Upbeat and cheerful staff - Clean room Bad for business traveler and anyone who needs to rest well. Cons: - Very very uncomfortable bed. The mattress is basically a sponge and the duvet is a small piece of folded blanket. There's no bed sheet too. - Small table and surface to work with. - Long waiting time for elevators when it's the peak periods of school trip. - The restaurant is closed except for breakfast. It's a great place for young people.

Really nice hotel, we had a family room with four beds (double and two bunks) which was a little bit small but was quiet, comfortable, clean and absolutely fine for a few nights city break (and actually really good for families). Breakfast were decent. It is in a good location right next to the train station and the East Side Gallery.

Love this hotel. One of the staff named Jason helped me through the check in process after arriving from a long flight. Really friendly staff and the vibe is chill and hip. There's a cafe right by the front desk and a small restaraurant next room. Highly recommend this place.

Nice (self service) hotel, next to the metro/train station, the Berlin wall and the Mercedes Arena. You can also walk easily to the touristic Alexander Platz. To note: if you want them to keep your luggage after/before check out/in you have to pay for it and leave it in a self service luggage room. When I visited the bar was closed apparently because they were missing employees, hope it is now reopened.

Rooms clean. And the staff great. Just remember to leave a cleaning note on the door from the room... That's how cleaning works. Train station opposite the scene where the mall... So good location and public access to all places easily

Modern and innovative hotel with a good story, right across Berlin Ostbahnhof. Rooms are small, practical and clean. I appreciated the wonderful breakfast buffet and the little kitchen that’s available for guests.

  • 1/5 Anisha b. 1 year ago on Google
I am staying in the hotel at the time of writing this review and this is the most pathetic cleaning service I have ever come across. In four days our room was not vaccumed once and there is sand all over the floor. Beds not made up! Not staying here ever again! And yes, we did put the tag outside the door. The AC is set to 19 degrees and the rooms are claustrophobic with little ventilation and no sound proofing between rooms. No way to call the front desk for help in the room either.

This was, without doubt, the best value hotel we stayed in during our three week rail tour of Northern Europe. The location is exceptional, being on the doorstep of one of Berlin's main stations. It is also very close to many of the sites related to the history of the GDR, including the magnificent Karl Marx Allez, the Stasi Museum and the largest remaining section of the Berlin Wall, The East Side Gallery. The hotel is very modern and our interestingly designed family room was clean and well appointed (loads of plug points and several usb charge points plus lockable cupboards). We particularly appreciated the automatic blind which, in conjunction with the curtains, blocked out all light. The window could be opened, but there was very efficient air conditioning. We were in a room at the rear of the hotel, overlooking the River Spree, and it was extremely quiet (Tues/Wed nights). The beds were comfortable. The bathroom, whilst quiet small, had a lovely shower (but watch out for the slippery shower tray!) There are no tea making facilities in the room, but there is a guests kitchen, which has a large fridge and microwave, so you can prepare tea and snacks there. There are chargeable luggage lockers; just be aware that the small lockers should really be called tiny! We had four medium size pieces of luggage and required two large lockers. Staff are very friendly and accommodating - they allowed us to consume our take away meal on their premises. Obviously, people will have different priorities, but for us this was the perfect hotel

My friends and I had a great time staying at Shultz Hotel. We were amazed with interesting and modern interior design and were especially pleased with the lobby and our room. Location is superb, everything is easily accessible. Food was excellent! The service was top-notch, specials thanks to Michael who was very attentive during breakfast, Rocco at the reception and the lady at the reception who did our check out (sadly, we didn't catch the name). However, there are two things I wish were a bit better (but it didn't affect our stay whatsoever): the app did not work, and our room was chilly - the radiator in the bathroom just wasn't enough to heat up the whole room.

est value for money, very clean and very good location. Very good customer service and modern interior. The thing i liked the most, is that i can use my phone for everything like check-in, check-out and even use it as my room key. Also noteworthy is the guest kitchen, which is fully equipped, even has a stove and dishwasher!

Good hotel in a great location. Right across from ostbahnhof you can travel quickly to the city center. The rooms are great, you get the feeling there was thought behind every design decision. It feels very streamlined. I got the cheapest smallest room, but it still had everything I could need, including coffee machine and electric kettle, spacious modern bathroom with great shower, and a little desk. You can also easily adjust the room temperature. It was great not to need a key, and to be able to get into the room with my phone. There's lockers to keep your luggage at the hotel longer after check out. You did have to pay for these however. The breakfast was nice, I however did wish they had more vegan options. They did have soy yoghurt and a vegan muesli, and after asking they said the bread was also vegan. Some stuff was labeled as vegan, but not everything, making me have to ask staff often. For 2 mornings they also didn't have any vegan labels entirely. The breakfast I did eat was tasty tho. The papaya spread was awesome on bread, and they had many toppings for the yoghurt.
