Hazels has been a favorite restaurant for me and my husband since we moved to the area so when we were considering a spot for our baby shower, we knew we wanted to have it here and it was everything I could’ve hoped for!! Kat and Olivia were great to work with, service the day of was amazing, and the FOOD!! We picked our own buffet items and went with lobster rolls, crab cakes, and French toast (along with the charcuterie platter, mimosa bar, eggs, and potatoes)…it’s been a week and I still have guests telling me how amazing the food was. Some saying the best of any shower or wedding they’ve ever been to. Olivia (Head Kitchen/Pastry Chef) also handled our desserts - custom sugar cookies, cake pops, and a cake. Incredible. Also so convenient that we could do our entire food order in one place. All this to say that I can’t recommend Hazels enough for your private event or Saturday night dinner. They remain at the top of our list of favorite restaurants!!

Went during happy hour Saturday around 4pm, wasn't very busy at all. Service was subpar for it not being busy at all but the waitress was nice. Got the $7 shrimp appetizer, I liked them and the cocktail sauce then for the main dish I got the whole lobster for $47. It looked good but that wasn't the case at all. I have never had lobster claws full of water and the lobster meat so soft and gelatinous. Wouldn't ever return if they can't properly cook a lobster during a slow happy hour before dinner. I'm from out of state but I'm sure there are far better seafood choices nearby.

The seafood is amazing! I loved the lobster roll and garlic fries. We had to order the wrecking ball for dessert and split it 6 ways. Amazing service! So attentive.

We ordered the big seafood tower and it was phenomenal! The portion of oysters and crab was so generous and fresh. I also think the pictures of the tower speak for themselves. We split the tower among two of us. Cannot recommend enough! Restaurant also had a wonderful nautical aesthetic ⚓️

Nice spacious seafood restaurant in Birmingham. The food is good, casual vibe and it doesn’t smell like fish! The servers are on the side of seasoned, so you won’t get blank stares when asking a question and they didn’t decide to jump on the inflation bandwagon to raise rates to a crazy degree. Good crab cakes, the best fries chicken (I hope my actuary isn’t reading this) and keylime lime.

Had a great time at Hazel's. The menu is seasonal. Wife had rockfish for the first time and she loved it. Must get: half and half chowder. Key lime pie! The pic was deeper in being devoured but so what! It is wonderful!

We attended a private event in their back room - quite a lovely space for entertaining about 50 people standing; maybe less if were were all seated? It's a perfect space for a networking event and very conveniently located close to the Peabody St parking garage. Quick in and out, especially for happy hour in Birmingham. There was a buffet table of appetizers, all of which were delicious, so I look forward to coming back and trying more items from the menu. The lemon aioli on the crab cakes was phenomenal, and everything tasted really fresh and yummy. Servers were attentive and friendly, the wine was excellent and the cocktails were crafted with homemade mixers and were nice and balanced. A great experience.

One of our favorite spots for Florida in Michigan. My husband grew up in Florida and we love spending time there enjoying all the fresh seafood. Hazel’s is our quick fix when we cannot just fly there - and they have a winter crab special menu which is beyond fresh and delicious (we had the sweet stone crab, which was awesome). Highly recommend the alligator bites, the grouper and the whitefish pate…but in reality we didn’t really go wrong with anything we’ve had. Lastly, I don’t know of many restaurants that make Georgian cheese bread around metro Detroit (maybe it’s my ignorance), but Hazel’s does, complete with mixing the cheese and egg yolk at the table. Great brunch option, and excellent for bigger groups.

All around good place to eat. The drinks were really good, I had the espresso martini and one of the spiked lemonades. My lobster roll connecticut style and fries were filling and the fish and chips with coleslaw was great. I cannot get the wrecking ball dessert off my mind. I would go here simply for the lobster and the wrecking ball dessert.

My husband and I were just complaining about missing the casual but quality west coast seafood restaurants since moving out to Michigan and stumbled across this place online. We ended up there during happy hour and ordered everything off the happy hour menu except the wings and a Caesar salad. Why didn’t we know about this place sooner. Definitely made the shirt list. It wasn’t pretentious but everything was stellar. Our cocktails were perfectly balanced to boot. Plus their ice they used in the water and cocktails was amazing. Decor was on point. Can’t wait to come back

👍👍 This was my first time at Hattie B’s and I can’t believe I waited this long. It was absolutely the best chicken I have ever had! The Pimento Mac and Cheese was fire! The Bacon Cheddar grits were good but nothing too special. The Potato Salad was to die for!!! I made sure to save room for dessert and...
