Overall
my
experience
is
characteristic
of
me
trying
to
support
a
black-owned
Boston
restaurant
as
a
vegetarian;
no
bueno.
I
ordered
the
bolognese
for
delivery
(a
popular
dish),
as
it
was
my
first
time
ever
having
the
dish
(decided
to
try
something
new,
as
I
enjoy
doing).
MIDA
lists
the
ingredients
on
their
online
delivery
menu,
and
nothing
on
the
ingredients
list
mentions
pork.
I
ordered
it
based
on
the
ingredients
mentioned,
thinking
(as
a
first
time
bolognese
eater
and
vegetarian)
I'd
be
safe
(menu
states
"Broccoli
rabe,
parmesan,
and
bread
crumb.
Gluten-free
pasta
available.")
Unfortunately,
it
had
pork
in
it.
I
called
the
restaurant
to
follow
up,
and
ask
if
they
could
at
least
include
on
the
website
menu
that
pork
is
an
ingredient.
Their
response
=
No.
Because
it's
bolognese,
the
customer
should
assume
that
pork
is
an
ingredient.
Very
disappointed,
and
extremely
glad
I
didn't
have
an
allergic
reaction
to
the
pork
(unbeknownst
to
me
as
it
was
my
first
time
ever
having
the
dish).
How
can
you
assume
a
customer's
knowledge
if
a
customer
is
new
to
the
cuisine?
ALL
main
ingredients
should
be
clearly
listed
on
all
menus.
Two
and
a
half
stars
here
(although
google
only
let's
you
do
whole
stars)
because
the
arancini
was
pretty
good
and
because
they
agreed
to
reverse
the
charge
to
my
credit
card,
and
they
sent
me
another
dish
that
was
a
"vegetarian"
version
at
no
additional
charge
(we'll
see
if
they
follow
through
when
I
review
my
statement).
However,
this
new
dish
was
just
a
non-meat
version
(at
the
same
price,
might
I
add),
nothing
special
was
included
to
make
it
distinctly
vegetarian.
I
was
expecting
better
from
a
"high
end"
restaurant.
If
I
was
a
not-by-choice
vegetarian,
MIDA
would
probably
be
about
to
face
a
lawsuit.
ON
TOP
OF
THIS:
the
portion
sizes
are
way
too
small
for
the
price.
$24
for
what
a
lot
of
people
think
of
as
fat
spaghetti?!
(the
bucatini)
I'd
recommend
Regina
Pizzeria
before
MIDA,
and
I'll
only
visit
MIDA
if
someone
else
is
paying
or
if
I
really
want
to
support
a
black-owned
business.
Update:
The
charge
was
never
reversed,
and
they
charged
my
card
for
the
second
order
which
they
had
previously
agreed
to
send
me
for
free.
