Normally I would give Sam’s a 5 but after today I have to lower my score to a 4 because of their prices. Best hot pastrami I’ve ever had in my 70 years and today did not disappoint. It was a sweet and tasty as ever. But I have to admit I was shocked at their prices. I haven’t been in years but was still amazed: $50 for 2 sandwiches, small chips and no drinks. Also my wife and I agree they have cut back on the size of the sandwich. I used to struggle to finish one and my wife would always save half for later. We both had no trouble finishing our sandwiches today. I can’t imagine the kind of money people are making to be able to eat here regularly. All in all though they do make a fabulous sandwich.

Phenomenal sandwich shop that specializes in pastrami sandwiches. Sam Lagrassa’s has been on my bucket list for a while, and I finally got the chance to visit. My friend and I ordered two of their most popular menu - chipotle pastrami and pastrami diablo. Both came with a generous stack of tender pastrami, but the latter pulled ahead as the winner. Chipotle mayo, Bermuda onions, and hot cherry peppers really highlighted the umami-rich bites of the meats, so every bite was a sheer bliss. They were certainly on par with the legendary sandwiches from Katz’s in NYC and undoubtedly the best I’ve had in my recent memory. My only complaint was that their pickles were more like lightly salted cucumbers. It lacked acidity and sweetness, but fortunately, the sandwiches shined on their own. Would definitely come back try more of their pastrami sandwiches.

Really one of the best things I had in a bun in Boston! We knew we were coming here because we heard only good things about the place. We took the Ruben, the Cuban, two Loco chicken, one of them spicier, and a salad. The loco chicken was really good and the roasted red pepper inside really brought it up a notch. The others said their sandwiches were delicious so I guess the other dishes are just as good. The price is pretty high compared to other places but the amount of meat in every sandwich was worth it!

Had a great lunch here with my friend. Any place that can stay open since the 1960’s and is only open for 4 hours per day (Mon-Fri only) must be doing something right. While the food is expensive ($15 sandwiches), the portions are very large (they’re famous for the pastrami) and you could easily split a sandwich with your friend. The French fries are also really good and worth trying (steak fries). Overall a great famous and local spot I highly recommend.

I usually reserve reviews for when I'm truly impressed. Today is different. The turkey sandwich was tasty and not too big to finish. The problem is that it cost 25 dollars for a normal sized sandwich and cookie to go, with no drink. I cant make sense of it, unless the purpose is to collect on the goodwill of reviews past. I am sad I didn't check the reviews first so at least I would have known to try the pastrami, but either way, be warned that the most glowing reviews are not the most recent and that's probably because the value equation is out of balance.

Their sandwiches are awesome! The chipotle Pastrami is their most popular and it is really good. They also have some of the best clam chowder I’ve had in Boston. Fun restaurant to sit in and fun area of town to be in. It is a little pricey, but worth a try.

So many places claim to have the “best” but this place lives up to the hype. Be prepared to drop $50 on two sandwiches and a couple waters but it’s worth it. Fabulously fresh and tasty. Huge portions. You could easily split a sandwich. YUM!

This is some of the best Pastrami in the city. The location is great for tourists and those working downtown, but the price point is out of reach for people looking for a work lunch. Come and try it once, especially if you want something quick and delicious. But this is not a place that can really become a staple, especially since their prices doubled.

Pretty solid chicken cutlet sandwich. I got the country chicken. The cutlet was cooked nice and crispy. Wasn’t a huge fan of the bread it came on and it was insanely expensive for a single cutlet in a sandwich.

Sam LaGrassa's claim to have the world's number 1 sandwiches may seem lofty, but after trying the chipotle pastrami and roast beef sandwiches, I must agree! They were phenomenal, bursting with flavor, fresh ingredients, and expertly crafted. Sam LaGrassa's attention to detail and dedication to quality is unparalleled - it's no wonder they're one of the best sandwich shops in the world. Whether you're a die-hard fan or just looking for a satisfying meal, I highly recommend giving them a try.

This is not the best reuben in the area, in Boston, or in the nation. It is, however, a good sandwich, and a lot of good sandwich. It's also surprisingly soft. A lot of corned beef and pastrami I've had you need to give more of a rip. This just comes off clean with each bite. If you want an even better one for less, you can get one around the corner at Beantown Pub, which is my usual go-to (not a sponsor). $30 and change is a bit much for what you get here, but it's still enjoyable.

Take out...but the best sandwiches I have ever had.... seriously!! It's easier to visit this place on foot, lots of construction and my GPS let me down!! But worth going out of your way for it...you won't regret it!! Enjoy!!

If you like pastrami then you own it to yourself to eat lunch here at least once in your life. They are only open for lunch and only on weekdays. I can not finish one of these sandwiches in one sitting. They are big and delicious. Fresh and flavorful. Best pastrami within 100 miles. Not cheap, but worth it.

Had a buffalo chicken sandwich and the taste was good. But it wasn't worth that price of 27$ ($24 +3$ tax =27$) for a sandwich. I feel it's very overpriced. Also, they should keep different options like small and foot long sandwiches with different prices.

Ordered their most popular items. Regular pastrami and the diablo. They were delicious but giving four stars because it is pretty pricey for just a sandwich. Also wish their hours were more accommodating/flexible

Bought a chipotle pastrami for pickup, ate in the restaurant. Definitely a heavy hearty sandwich but the pastrami is overpowered by the coleslaw and chipotle mustard. No complaints about the bread and swiss cheese. It's crazy when the cheese is the highlight of the sandwich but sadly here we are. I'll try another sandwich but at this cost in these times, I'm disappointed 😞

My husband was raving how good the pastrami sandwich was when his company had their catering service from this place. I gave it a try I got chipotle pastrami sandwich without any drink or sides was almost $30 with tip. The pastrami was but I found sandwich was a bit salty to my liking. Service was nice. I will not be back too expensive for a sandwich.

Probably the best sandwich I have ever had and I’m very hard to please when it comes to sandwiches. The chipotle pastrami was insanely good! I also added hot peppers to it. Highly recommend if you’re in the Boston area!!

Pastrami sandwich was so good and we came back there twice. It’s soft and juicy. The only negative commend that I have is that no need to have the honey or sugar taste in the pastrami meat. Or use less.

The place is great - the people are great over the phone ( I called in to come pick it up) - arriving and receiving my order was very efficient and people at the restaurant are amazing and nice. The food is good but idk if it’s worth the money honestly - I had Katz and if this is the boston version in a way - it doesn’t measure up. I appreciate value for money- it’s worth a visit to try out once but not to be a regular - I still appreciate it as a gem of boston and I hope they increase their operating hours.

Club was really flavorful with Russian dressing and the fries were crisp but soft inside. The chicken pesto sandwich was dry. Very expensive but the sandwiches are large.

Great sandwiches- a little heavy on the sauce. Pretty pricey but they are big (enough to split with another person). Definitely recommend stopping here for lunch! They were made fresh and came out relatively fast.

I've been eating here for 30+ years. It's delicious. Best sandwich shop in city and not comparative to any other deli. Issue I have is the cost. Today I grabbed a salad because the salads are as epic as the pastrami. This is delicious but absolutely not worth $20. Price pulled a star and I cannot eat here anymore. I can afford it, I shouldn't have to.

I had the pastrami/corned beef combo and it blew my mind. Cole slaw on the side with sparkling water had me chowing down on the sandwich nonstop. It’s a huge sandwich for a person who weighs 110 pounds but I ate the whole thing in one sitting because it was that good.

When we walked in and saw the prices, we almost walked out, but I’ll tell you - it was worth every penny. The Southwestern Pastrami is pictured here and truly packs a wonderful punch. A taste of Heaven.

In the search to find the best sandwich in the US. This is definitely one of the top. I think Gioia’s Deli in Saint Louis is also way up there.

Delicious sandwiches. The pastrami they use is particularly good. We tried the pastrami Caprese, and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. I highly recommend it. It's expensive for a sandwich, but it's worth it.

Auhmazing pastrami? Yes Dazzling sandwich? Yes Waaay too expensive? Yes (so 4/5 stars) I've been a customer for decades. It's always been expensive but worth it. Today's sandwich prices and smaller size cross the line for me. $30+ for a sandwich and Coke. I'm finally out. My beloved Boston is headed the way of SF, Seattle, NY, Miami. Local businesses cater more to the ultra rich and corps and abandon the common customers. RIP Sam LaGrassa's. Don't lose your soul chasing $$$$.

Before visit Boston in last week I did some search and found this place in the net and through some youtube videos and decided to try their sandwiches .Place is just as I imagine simple, very clean and professional. I ordered Roast Beef Blue ( hope said right) sandwich. After the first bit I realize how taste was so amazingly delicious which is I don't say this for so many things that I tried. It was the best experience I had during my visit. One of the best Sandwich Store in the world for sure. If I go back to Boston again Sam La Grassa is the only place WORTH to revisit. Thank you.

Eating healthy so I went with the vegan wrap. It was very good, but I'd rather spend $12 vs $20 for a veg sandwich.

A sandwich so good, you'd drive 2 hrs to make it to a place that only opens for 3 hours a day.

The sandwiches, AMAZING!!! The sides… well I think it depends on what you want. The potato salad isn’t traditional, it’s sweet and mashed smooth. The pickles, maybe it was a bad batch, but I had a salty, vinegar cucumber. The cucumber had not pickled yet and I couldn’t finish it. Highly recommend for the sandwiches, little pricey but GREAT SANDWICH!! We ordered 1 sandwich to split, 1 drink, 1 side, extra pickle and was almost $40

Just ordered for the first time in a few years and I almost forgot how amazing everything is there. Sandwiches are made perfectly and with so much care. You will never get a soggy, sloppy sandwich from here. Not the cheapest option around but you definitely get what you pay for. The individually packaged pickles are perfect right now for a group during these times! :)

Probably the most delicious vegetable sandwich I've ever had. I can't wait to try the other veggie sandwiches. I concur with the rest of the reviews - the prices are steep - higher than your normal sandwich/sub shop. But the food is really good. (I ordered online for pick-up and it was very easy and my sandwich was ready in time.)
