Seriously? That's a Chilli relleno from the Dr. Johnson plate. I've had larger stuffed jalapeños. Super disappointed that this place has gone down hill. Oh. Over $15 for a poor meal. There are better places in town

Yikes! Where do I start, The service the server is a sweetheart job well done. The food is not authentic Mexican food. But that’s not the worst of it. The flavor of the food is awful. I was served enchilada and relleno plate. The enchilada had this gooey sauce. It was supposedly sour cream sauce that look like pudding. The tortilla was warmed in the microwave. The food was cold. My ranchero beans did not make it to the table.but that didn’t even matter because I was not going to take another bite more. I asked for a to go plate and left. The cashier that seemed like the owner was not kind at all. He didn’t ask me about my visit nor did he greet me as I walked in. It was a shame to spend 17$ on something that had an awful taste. Kitchen and flavors, sauces need Improvement.

The food was "okay", as in "Okay, I think it will stay down". The place comes across as a mom and pop joint, but lacks the love and spirit that such a place usually shows. Most (but not all) of the staff either had a bad day or is in need of customer service training. I'll err on the side of optimism because I know food service can be a pain. Before I detail anything else, I need to say that this place needs cleaning and maintenance, although all the tables and floors were clean. See the photos I'm posting. The waiter was very nice, if forgetful. He made a couple of errors that he immediately corrected with sincere apologies. The cooks were moving around the kitchen with their heads down the entire time I was there. A couple of staff members complimented my son as I paid the bill but then the lady ringing it up asked if everything was okay in a tone that was clearly challenging, and bordering on hostile. It was strange. The food... The chips and salsa were good, and the beans were okay, but that's pretty much it. I got the burritos especiales. The queso seemed to be made from mac and cheese powder. It was awful. The sour cream inside the burrito was REALLY watery for some reason. The rice was bland but well cooked. My son refused to eat more than one bite of anything but the beans on his child's plate, but he's 2, so maybe the food was fine and maybe not. It was a taco (veggies looked good), beans and rice. My girlfriend got the chili relleno and a sour cream and chicken enchilada. She wasn't a fan of any of it. The only drinks they had were Coke, Sprite and tea. I got unsweetened tea and it was good. It tasted fresh. In summary, Emilio's came up short. I won't be returning and I don't recommend the place.

The food was alright, the server who took our orders attitude, definitely was not. He was rude from the moment we walked in, I asked for a Diet Coke, he said they didn’t have any, I asked for a regular coke and he raised his voice to let me know that “all we have is sprite”, ok…I’ll take a sprite. Got a sweet tea brought out. My partner asked for a beer, went through 3 that they didn’t have before the server sighed and let him know what all they actually carry. At this point, we’re not tryna get yelled at again, we just drank what was brought out. My enchilada plate was ok, the sauce needs a little help. The burritos had a cheesy sauce over them that was actually pretty tasty. And the borracho beans were really good, as well. Had it not been for the server, it would have been an ok experience. Could have left, but traveled to Brownwood for a funeral and was on a time crunch to get back home to work the night shift so…

Hold on real quick while I try and stop laughing just at the ridiculousness of all the little charges this place requires like charging .50 cents for getting a to-go container for the food you can't finish. There's the almost $2.00 for sour cream as well as $1.00 charge of you don't have cash. All in all the food was pretty darn good and the service was awesome! Chips were my favorite 😍

So a number of years ago I left four-star review . I had gone a few times and it was really good. I haven't gone since Covid, and I finally went today. Unfortunately, it is not as good as the past times I had been. Last time the enchilada that comes with the chili relleno dish was tender and light and really good. it had kind of a chicken gravy over it that was different but very good. This time I didn't realize they were going to put a Ranchero sauce over it, and it tasted canned and it wasn't good. And their tortilla was heavy and kind of stiff and just not very good. The Rellano itself was OK but the cheese sauce tasted kind of like it had cheese wiz over the top of it. Not the nice light cheese sauce of the past. when I went to go pay, the guy didn't say that they were going to charge extra for the credit card and there was no sign that says so. And then it must've charged like 5% or something because it was more than I was expecting. when I asked the guy about it, he just said the machine charges what it charges. he couldn't even find the receipt that I asked him to look for to see what it charged me. But then I was able to pull up my credit card charge and it shows that it is charged me like an extra $.60 for a 13.50 meal. I wasn't happy. I had cash with me and i could've paid cash if i had known. I know it's not a huge amount, but all those charges add up which is why restaurants do it now. But it adds up to my pocketbook too. i won't be going back.

Delicious large portions of food. Waitstaff was welcoming and friendly. Even with a large dinner crowd they kept up with orders drinks and service. Recommended!

Chips were awesome. My taco dinner was very good and husband enchiladas were too.Borracho beans were really good. Everything very fresh. Waitress and host were great. 2 things I’d do is light the outside at night. It looked closed we almost didn’t stop and carry a hotter salsa as no one does so you’d be the only one with a really good hot sauce. Did I say chips were some of the best I’ve ever had!!!! Go there price is right! Margarita was batch drink but tasted fresh and good!

Excellent chips and salsa, and the nachos were delicious! It's location, and being an older hole in the wall dated restaurant makes it a good spot for lunch.

I have been a customer of emilos for years when the older gentleman that was the cook was cooking the food was excellent everything was great the boracho beans I recommed are better than my mother's the waitress was very friendly, quick, and my cup was full all the time I was there. I didn't speak a whole lot with the manager when I was cashing out he was friendly didn't say much but he was efficient and precise as a former restaurant manager of 15years he does his job right. I totally recommend Emilos Mexican Restaurant for any meal with our without family almost forgot ask Ralph about the mixed drinks he makes a great margarita,

The food was great, as was the service. Beer was cold too. Inexpensive place to dine while traveling

The hot sauce had a strange flavor to it, but a little salt made it bearable. The food, on the other hand, was a lot better... fairly small establishment, the menus were falling apart and the selection was not very large...

This is good traditional texmex food that I crave. The enchiladas are tasty. Fajitas beef and chicken are well seasoned with homemade tortillas come with fluffy rice and beans plus fixins. The crispy crunchy chips and guacamole are a must. The queso dip was runny and tasteless but we ate it withe the salsa and guacamole. I asked another patron about the Hamburger she got cause it looked delicious and it was. This is a hidden gem with friendly helpful staff and a clean bathroom. We'll be back next time we're in town so please support this family restaurant. The chef knows how to cook really good food.

Used to love this place. When I went they hadn’t updated prices on the menu; the owner somehow saw that as my fault and “bartered” with me. Surely he just didn’t want to pay someone to spend literally one hour taping higher prices on like 25 menus. I had a beer my partner did not; when we took our ticket to pay it was like he didn’t believe me lol. And I guess because of the “barter” he just charged me for 2 beers anyway, it’s hilarious. Really did used to like this place. Understand prices are going up every where but there’s better places in town to spend this much. Where the owner isn’t a total tool. Which is the main reason I won’t return.

This is a good place to get Mexican food. The waitresses are great. Sometimes at lunch it can be hard to get a table because the dining area is small.

Menu is lacking, we waited over an hour for an appetizer. Paid 30 dollars to leave it. Don’t waste your time or money.

Went there with family the first person we saw was rude that seated us owner I'm thinking. The waitress was rude and let's just go to say all the workers were rude !! Food wasn't horrible but wasn't all that good either !! Oh and No refills on our drinks the only thing going for them was their chips !! They were awesome asked the waitress where they got them and all she said was Austin . 0kay 🤷🏼‍♀️ not a friendly place .

Not sure why it took me so long but I ate at Emilios today for the first time and it was great. Food was perfect all of the kids ate the food. Atmosphere was good and so was the service. The strawberry daiquiri was amazing.
