Hotel was lovely, great location to historical landmarks, awesome breakfast selection and staff, rooms were clean and decorated well. Loved the closets! One suggested area to improve is better pillows…they go quite flat when you lay on them, including if you put two together. Really enjoyed the towel heating rack in the bathroom! Would recommend and stay here again

Very well managed, awesomely decorated, courteous staff, spacious rooms and great breakfast with excellent location makes this hotel a fine choice for tourists, business people alike. It’s not far from the revolution square, it’s a centrally located hotel with all amenities you can think. I didn’t try the gym or pool due to work load, but they looked grand. The breakfast was a great hit - fresh vegetables, omelettes, cold heats, home made sour dough bread and freshly picked fruit. I found coffee was a bit put down (machine served!) but I can’t complain about the tasty breakfast!

The location of the hotel is perfect, and the newly renovated rooms are stunning and very comfortable, with many modern comforts. They did a great job during the renovation, and having seen all the luxury hotels in Bucharest, I would say this is the nicest one. However, the staff are problematic. There’s a culture of disinterest in their work, and they will actively bend over backwards to do the bare minimum they can (ironically, with great effort). Our requests were very straightforward and basic (the most we asked was if someone wouldn’t mind bringing up our food delivery order, as we weren’t comfortable giving the driver our room number and we had retired for the night), but at times we had to beg and plead for assistance, and any assistance that was forthcoming was usually accompanied by an openly hostile attitude. Housekeeping service ends at 17:00 (accurate as of September 2022), but if you don’t request it in the morning it won’t happen. Also, you have to sign a special form if you want your windows unlocked, and it’s very easy to lock them again if you’re not careful. All in all, this is a beautiful hotel with the perfect location, but it suffers greatly from its staff’s attitude and working culture. However, it’s worth noting that this attitude exists in most luxury hotels in Bucharest, so I would happily return here in spite of this.

This is the best location if you are visiting Bucharest! The Hotel lobby is out of this world. And most importantly the room! Stayed in the courtyard suite, the room has 2 bathrooms! A lounge area! Big bedroom! The best Hotel room you will find! There's a Pool/Gym/Sauna/Steam/Jecuuzi!! Location is just amazing! And on top! The Manager Aura is just the best!!! Service is to a new level! You will NOT be disappointed! Enjoy your stay there!

This is the only hotel where I stay in Bucharest. This is probably my 7th visit. It is an excellent hotel. The staff are extremely professional, courteous and accommodating. The rooms are spotless and the newly renovated spaces are tastefully designed and of high quality. The gym has just enough equipment. The restaurant is delicious. My kids have enjoyed the pool over the years, and I the spa! Thank you! I look forward to returning!

This is my fourth stay here and the branding had recently changed from Hilton to Intercontinental. I must say there is a drastic improvement in service and quality since my last visit in December. Very happy with the hospitality, food and promptness of the staff members. Going to be enjoying this for another couple of weeks here before heading back to India.

I did not have a good experience at this hotel. For one thing, the heat wasn’t working in my room, but okay - they more or less fixed it. However, a more frustrating episode was as follows. At about 9:45 pm I went to the front desk to inquire about the rate for an additional night. She said she’d speak with her manager. I said I’d come back in 30 minutes. I went to the gym and upon attempting to leave, I realized I was stuck there. They have an absolutely asinine system whereby you need a room key to leave the gym. If your room key is deactivated by your phone while you’re at the gym, well, you’re stuck. I called the front desk twice and after about twenty minutes they sent a security guard who told me it was my fault because the gym closes at 10 pm. NO, it doesn’t. The website says 24 hours and when I checked in the reception guy said it’s open 24-7 with key access. Nowhere does it say that the gym closes at 10 pm. I returned to the front desk and after having been stuck in the gym for 20 minutes, there was a new shift manager who gave me a rate 2X (literally) as expensive as the previous person just about an hour previously. While the previous reception person stated 902 RON, and said she would check with her manager to see if she could make any accommodations, the following one just an hour later stated 1700. Lastly, a green light started blinking on the ceiling in the middle of the night.

This is a great hotel right down in the middle of town. It’s a great location for theater museums restaurants and sightseeing. There are some beautiful parks close and the night life here is very good. The rooms are very quiet and updated. The breakfast is wonderful and all the staff are knowledgeable and kind.

Excellent accommodation right in the city center of Bucharest on “Calea Victoriei”. Fully renovated, this hotel was formerly branded Hilton and since Jan 2023 is part of the IHG group. Very clean rooms with comfortable beds and pillows. I got the chance to get an upgrade to the fifths floor and I thus benefited of a balcony directly on Calea Victoriei. The staff is very polite and helpful, always smiling and eager to support with all the requests. Great breakfast choice.

What an amazing hotel. Luxurious interior, super soft beds and super friendly staff doing everything to make your stay as memorable as possible. I gave 5 stars for location although I stayed there for business, for which I had to go 10km outside the city center, this took me between 45 and 75 min every day, the traffic in Bucharest is an absolute nightmare. If you come by car: in front of the hotel there is one of the very few parkings you can find in Bucharest. Note: the parking is divided in 2, the one for the hotel (which is actually public too) costs 20 euros / day, and the second part, which is freely accessible is actually completely free…. For dinner we ate almost every day in the English bar, which has a quiet big snack card which were very delicious.

Spacy rooms and nice bathroom , very attentive and nice staff, especially Alexia. Thank you Alexia for being customer oriented! Well located, close to the center. Probably the best 5* hotel in the area. The hotel design and interior will impress you for sure.

We had a really good time at the Intercontinental! Great service, great rooms. Service team has been incredibly nice! Only recommendation would be to serve club sandwich 24 hours a day! It’s a fu… great club sandwich! Pro tip, enjoy it with a strawberry margarita! 😍

Super well centered hotel. Perfect for a stay and close to nightlife and the most vibrant street in bucharest. Yet super quiet and comfortable to sleep. A special shout out to Erika, at the reception area whom was super friendly, professional and helped me in my request.

I was in an emergency through no fault of my own and asked the hotel staff for help. The very firendly and nice staff took care of everything, even providing me with a room (which I didn't need in the end - but I saw it and it was amazing). This kind of help is not always a matter of course. The communication was excellent and I thank the staff for their 5* service. Next time in Bucharest I will definitely book this hotel.

Great location, beautiful hotel, the restaurant staff is lovely, the breakfast options are amazing & loved waking up every morning just to go there. Plus, pets are allowed which was great! The laundry & ironing service is way too expensive for what it is & the 1000 RON that you are obliged to deposit when you check in in case you use any service not included in your reservation was unexpected & not communicated beforehand. However, we actually booked a room for this hotel to go to their New Years event which was so lackluster. The food menu was good, but only 2 champagne glasses included for 1000RON per person is just so disappointing & cheap, plus if we needed other alcoholic drinks we had to pay an extra fee for the bar. Besides the fact that our table was behind the room's supporting pillars & the acoustics of the restaurant made it feel like we were excluded from the event. It was basically like a wedding where nobody knew each other, with some random singer singing covers of classic wedding songs. Very boring. The most disappointing moment was when the clock struck 12AM & there were no fireworks. Nothing. How is that possible? We were so disappointed that we went directly to our room & enjoyed our own bought champagne on the balcony instead of wasting our time. One of the most beautiful hotels in Bucharest but lackluster services (strictly the services we have used).

We had the opportunity to visit it last weekend and it was an amazing experience. Everything was great, bed and linen, bathroom amentities, the cleanliness, excellent quality breakfast and I loved the staff, smiley, friendly and greeting us every step of the way. Best room insulation ever, did not hear anything from the busy boulevard or corridors, which is a big plus. A coffee machine in the room would have made a huge difference but nevertheless it was a 10/10.

The hotel is amazing. Very good location, not far from the old city and near the casino. The rooms are so beautifully designed and big, and they are at a very high standard. The hotel have a great spa including a pool, Jacuzzi and two saunas - wet and dry. The service is great, everything is very clean and the price is ok. Very recommended. We didn't had the breakfast.

One would expect that a hotel such as the Hilton would have better service. It appears that the effects of COVID have not yet sunk in. Rooms are decent size, bar fridges are like minature ovens and the air-conditioners are not cooling properly, especially during your hot summer days. Restaurants and eating areas and bar are acceptable. We were presented with a nice selection for breakfast. The rooms are equipped with a ironing board, iron and dryer and the beds & pillows are comfortable. Not a bad experience but definitely expected more.

Best hotel in București, hands down. Every single staff member did everything they could to help with anything we needed. The renovations and design in the rooms is beautiful. Location is excellent. I've stayed at almost every nice hotel in București, and there are a few nice ones, but this is the best. Clean, nicely done and very well run. It's changing to an Intercontinental, so i hope the good is maintained and it gets even better.

The hotel is new and very clean but the staff lack basic common sense and especially when a person is travelling for a business visit , time is of paramount importance. The water heating facility did not work for 2 of the 4 days I’ve been staying here. This is absolutely insane as the weather out side is around 2-3 degrees. 0 common sense and 0 logic. Very poor experience.

A beautiful hotel. Actually one of the best intercontinental hotels in terms of decor. Had a burger in the English Bar and hands down is was the best burger I have ever eaten. A few issues, but I believe my partner is talking to them.

The hotel is brand new, I guess we were the first to stay in the room. As an IHG member we received a complimentary upgrade from a Junior Suite to a One Bedroom Suite. The service is perfect, the location too. We assume the building was previously occupied by another hotel, judging by the reviews from months ago here, which do not refer to this hotel. We highly recommend the hotel.

The best hotel I’ve stayed in. I have tried multiple 5 stars hotels but this is the best. The quality and design of rooms, the breakfast, the commodities and specially the professionalism of its workers. I really recommend it.

The hotel commom areas are beautiful and the rooms are nice. I am giving it a 3 star rating for rooms and service because I booked a room called the Royal Palace suite but paid with points. On line, this room was gorgeous with a living room, 2 bathrooms, and a balcony with a city view. What they gave me was a room with 1 bath with a shower and 1 sink a bed and small sitting area and a lousy view with graffiti on a side street. A friend bought a better room for 1/3 the price! Apparently although it was sold and advertised as the royal palace suite and cost much more, it was a mistake but they would not fix it by changing the room, returning the money or offering a reasonable credit. I am an ihg member and never knew them not to care, but they did not even after my bank called them, letting them know the room was sold wrong. They offered a 200.00 refund for which I told them to keep because it was an insult. If you are happy with everything the hotel is great. If you are not, don't expect they will care.

The hotel looks simply amazing, and the staff was helpful and nice. The first floor looks indeed luxurious, mostly because of the baroque or like baroque decorations.

Very nice and stylish hotel. We got adjoining rooms and it was perfect for having the children in one and still being able to hang out with the lights on after they were out. One star reduction since we had booked with dinner included, and the first night we were offered a selection of two soups and pasta w tomato sauce or seared tuna with asparagus. Next night we basically got to pick what we wanted from the menu. Inconsistent and unclear what we are actually entitled. Good gym and a small pool to cool off after a hot day.

Hilton Athenee Palace Bucharest is located at the heart of the capital next to one of the art museums and a 40 minute taxi ride from the airport, OTP. The hotel has several bars and restaurants and given the location there is easy access to both restaurants and shopping around the hotel. There is also a large health club with a good size gym, indoor pool and a Spa. The rooms in the new section of the building are all newly refurbished and have an excellent standard whilst the older part still needs a renovation but is scheduled for un update during 2022. There is a nice executive lounge with breakfast 6.30am to 10.30am and dinner and evening drinks between 6pm and 8pm. There is even a balcony to enjoy the evening sun or a meeting room if you need to work. There is limited paid for parking space available in front of the hotel if you come by car. Overall a good hotel for exploring town

Best location to stay when visiting Bucharest. Close to the nicest restaurants in old town and plenty of transportation available around. The breakfast service is very complete and the staff was super polite and efficient all the time. At the entrance they control temperature of guests with a modern system where you can see yourself in a big screen and there is a giant teddy 🧸 bear to welcome you. The swimming pool and jacuzzi are perfect to relax and enjoy with the family. The decoration is classic and elegant. We want to come back soon. Highly recommended!

What a beautiful hotel. It was recently renovated and it shows, everything looks shiny and new. O was upgraded to the executive floor and my room was spacious and comfortable. The location is perfect, so close to everything if you want to be a tourist. The staff was all very friendly and breakfast was also very good. I’ll definitely stay here again if I’m lucky enough to return to Bucharest.

Hard to give 5 stars. Mind you the hotel was excellent, but there was construction in the area. Parking is across the street, but not Hilton. In a great location, but to get to the hotel is a challenge, there's a lot of one ways. But the restaurant, spa and everything else is great. If I go to Bucharest again, I will definitely consider staying again.

Great hotel, I think is one of the best hotels in Bucharest. Since they renovated it the rooms, they are unbelievably beautiful. I love their designs but they shouldn't have removed the sliding door that was separating the bedroom from the entrance because you can hear everything. And what was very uncomfortable is that it was very loud in the late morning( the housekeeping ladies were screaming on the hallway, complaining about something). In the end everything was good.

  • 4/5 Jon W. 2 years ago on Google
Hotel refurbishment is being done to a really high standard the rooms look great. Unfortunately if you are here on business the new design isn't great, there is no desk, just one small round table with a non-adjustable chair, no phone and a single electric point. I would agree that if I was staying purley for leisure the room is great, apart from the incessant noise of the fan, but as a room to work from between meetings it is all style and no function

Excellent! Despite the renovation going all the facilities were working on a full engine with a high standard. Can’t ask for a better location. All the staff, all of them were super warm, efficient and hospitable, in particular Aura at reception desk had been super helpful, a wonderful human being! The room was clean and pleasantly decorated, executive lounge offered a decent variety of drinks and food all packed on a relaxing environment, breakfast outstanding perhaps one of the best had at Hilton. Really can’t find any fault in our staying here, it was all to a high standard, really looking forward to return anytime soon.

Beautiful rooms! Great location! But completely undesirable lobby. No charm, no charisma, no desire to spend even 30 seconds in it. Very disappointed for a 5 Star Hilton. Real problem was lack of happiness/friendliness from the staff. Cold reception at check-in. Sombre faces, no smiles. Moved to a boutique hotel and were showered with kindness.

Great hotel stayed for 4 nights and received an upgrade to the executive lounge which offered great snacks and food in the evenings. Breakfast was fine but not as many options than we know from other hiltons. Variety didn't change all 4 days so it felt a little blant. Construction work did not bother us at all parking was very convenient. I would stay here again.

Indulgently 3* ! The hotel is a historic landmark, beautifully preserved and location is great. Unfortunatley, the service was poor, definitely not fit for a 5* hotel in the central of a capital. We have choosed this hotel, arrived in the evening and were checked in ; the elevators didn't work and we've had to carry our luggages. We were expected the porter to handle it. The room was situated in the newly built wing that looks similar to the Travelodge room but slightly larger. We were there for 3 nights and would expected to have the housekeeping done on a daily basis. We've had to request the service to be provided via reception, every day(towels, cleaning etc). The TV didn't work either. At the courtyard restaurant, had to wait over an hour for our food , so we've decided to go to a different restaurant in the city. We were completley ignored by tha staff, although, the restaurant was empty. The manager was rude and not even appologised. The only good service we've received was at the breakfast and the English Bar. Dan and Daniela were very proffesional ,kind and friendly. Hopefuly, the rest of the staff will follow their example in future.

The plus : Rooms are great and spacious. Hotel location is ideal and the view from the windows is very nice and enjoyable . Bedding is great. Facilities look very nice ( even though I didn't try everything ) . The minus : staff is not very friendly. Rolling their eye when I ask them to repeat direction and telling me " this is what I just explained to you" while looking annoyed . Great to have a welcome card in the the room but if you do that at least address it to the correct name! Limited amenities in the bathroom just a general dispenser. Not what I would have expected from a palace standard .
