First experience eating off banana leaf in Singapore. Choice of briyani or white rice. 2 types of curry vegetables and papadam from the set meal. We ordered mutton, chicken and fish. Every item was great! The whole family enjoyed the meal. Shall be back soon!

I recently tried the chicken and fried prawn nasi briyani at this restaurant, and I have to say that I was blown away by the flavors and quality of the dish. Not only was the food delicious, but the serving was incredibly fast as well. The rice was cooked to perfection and had just the right amount of spice, while the chicken and fried prawn were tender and succulent. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be coming back for more!

Very solid Indian food. All the dishes were well made, nothing too salty. For a South Indian place, even their naan was amazing, came out hot and crisp yet tender. Reminds me of home cooked food. Definitely a must try

Wow! Even though I don’t know what is the best Indian meal, but I can say here is really good! You can fulfil your stomach with nice Indian food. The spiciness is not so strong for me, Japanese, and good to enjoy.

Chicken Masala (SGD $7) @ Karu's Indian Banana Leaf Restaurant. . Since 1993, this stalwart casual eatery has been delighting diners with their homely South Indian dishes, potent curries with fiery kick, and wallet-friendly prices. Little wonder they still attract lomg queues during daily meal times. . Their rendition features a large bone-in chicken cut, over which is ladled a rich thick curry paste that clings to the tender chicken meat. . Potent, bright and sharp spicy savoury salty meaty flavours, with a slight lingering heat.

Good value place for banana leaf rice and naans. Spicy cooking and curry accompanying the carbs. Also, like the fact that I don't have to pay for dhal when I eat naan. Recommended place for Indian food 😋

Authentic Indian cuisine with generous servings and prompt service too. Their Briyani and Tandoori are a must-trys. 🍺 available too. Very limited carpark but they have a bus stop directly outside their shop (Bus 963, 961,etc)

Serves up authentic and delicious banana leaf Indian cuisine. The curry fish head is exceptionally good here with the quality of fish used. Only draw back is parking here and proximity is subjective. We had : Mutton tripe & innards Chicken liver Curry fish head Prawn masala Chicken masala I would say give the prawns a miss as the meat is a little tough but the rest are all good

First they lay the banana leaf, then they will pour the vege side dish followed by the free flow rice, followed by curry sauce and crackers. frankly speaking its good enough to start eating. the meat were up to expectations. however the tandoori chicken was the bomb. no wonder they have a saperate menu just for tandoori. I would expect chicken to be slightly dry as usually those meat will be hanging by the steel rod. not this one. its hot and juicy. After adding the lime, seriously wonder how chicken can taste this good. I can only respond with a 5 star review

Food is alright. Mutton Briyani set have very little mutton. Mutton is also dry and stringy. Comes with 2 big chunks of potato so the meat portion is probably half of that tiny serving plate. Naan and paneer is not bad. Food comes with free flow of papadum, rice, curry and veggies. However, the staff are not attentive and I constantly have to wave to them to get their attention. Next day, my partner and I both have severe diarrhea.

Standard of food is good, service is good as well and the place is clean. Wanted to have a medium curry fish head and the staff advised us to get a small one after we ordered another item as we are 2 diner's. Fish head is fresh and not too spicy or salty. They are also generous with their rice serving. Parking is definitely an issue but you are using the MRT, Cashew station is just about 5 mins walk away. Will go back regularly for sure.

Wow ! Great place to enjoy home style Indian food from butter chicken to curry fish. Briyani rice is to enjoy with the fish and of course to get hot naan.

Pleasant Environment. Staff are friendly. Food is amazing. Free flow of briyani and plan rice. Vegetables and papadams are also free flows. Both North and South Indian food is amazing. My favourite is Mysore Mutton

Been craving for proper banana leaf rice and Karu’s definitely satisfied my cravings! Portion is generous and aircond is strong enough to beat the heat outside! 😂 Pretty crowded during lunch time in the weekend, but waiting time is not long, so worth a try!! I took public transport so parking problem is not an issue for me. I got 2 sets of BLR with Briyani, mutton, signature chicken, small piece of fish curry, tahu sambal, 2 coffees and total was SGD45+

Authentic Indian food where food is served on a banana leaf. Wide variety of meat options ranging from chicken to fish and shelled seafood. Servers come to your table with rice, vegetable dishes, papadam and curry gravy where you can indicate how much you want based off your appetite and ability to eat. Food standard is really good and this could be seen from the crowd that was waiting outside the restaurant despite it’s not very central/accessible location. Must visit place!

With limited dining choices nearby, I was happy to find this spot. First time eating off of a banana leaf, and the red snapper and mango lassi were pretty tasty for a quick meal.

Good wide selection of curries from seafood, meat and vegetable curries. The fish curry is good here.

Banana leaf restaurant with typical Indian dishes. Free flow rice and side dishes. In my opinion it lacked a bit of spice but not bad tasting. Authentic atmosphere.

A quick fix for Indian banana leaf food if you're in the west, however u cannot depend on the aftermath even to save your own life, as the MSG used will render your spirits soaring and wanting to drink water every few minutes.. you cannot perform any task after the meals.. seafood is a bomb, this meal for 2 set me back to almost $60- with $12 alone for one single prawn and $2.50 for one can of coke. Once in 4 months maybe.. the taste is catered for the Chinese.. spice level zero.. no touch of South Indian cuisine.. more to Kerala with the heaps of coconut in the curry... Bad for take away.. will go bad fast.

👍👍 Fantastic seafood and equally great non seafood dishes. There is certainly something for everyone and every pallet here. The crabs were big and meaty. The prawn paste chicken was next level. Prawn rolls were also smashing. Great flavors and friendly staff made for a wonderful experience.
