The place is always busy. Big choice of drinks. Authentic genever to try. Reasonable prices for snacks. Service is not good. Lack of staff. The tables are dirty. They forgot about the order and we had to wait again. Tables are not cleaned and you sit with a giant pile of glasses and plates on the table. The staff doesn’t remember what you ordered and ask what you ordered many times. Pity. Cause the place is nice. In my opinion there is a need for more staff. The blonde waitress is super unfriendly.

This was a fairly good restaurant with excellent service. A reservation is definitely recommended, although you may get lucky with a walk-in. The food is decent, but the price to quality is good; there is nothing to write home about. The alcohol selection is definitely where this place stands out as it has a lot of good beer and liqour to select from to include some local specialties. The ribs were tender but lacked any real flavor outside of adding sauce. The service was outstanding, and best of all (for cat lovers), they have a mascot of the facility.

Love our lunch here today. We had eaten so many of the my must-eat in Amaterdam food list here including bitterballen, smoked eel, the local drink must drink Genever and others. I recommend going here! Also it was an old distillery turned into a restaurant.

The veggie burger is sensational and the goat cheese salad is great too! And there's a choice of about 30 beers - the dark cask ale at 8% is great. The whole thing is in a former distillery, which gives the place a lot of character.

Wonderful place! I found it by change walking around The 9 streets. The location is really nice and close to the canals. I tried 2 main courses: mussels and chicken satay, they where special! Really good value for money

A great tasting in a piece of history, as told from the canal cruise tour guides. A must stop for visitors. Even after the restaurant closes, if you come in for a late night sip, you can order a jenever flight with cheese pairing which I highly recommend. Indoor and outdoor seating. This is the proper place to get a proper jenever tasting in and enjoy the ambiance. Don’t skip it.

This is the worst food I had ever eaten since I was born. How can you cook a medium steak like a well-done one? The most horrible texture: please imagine you are chewing a hotel towel and you need to swallow it because the price is not that friendly? The fries with wild boar...Charge that much but taste very bad...Hmmm, mmmm...could not finish it... But have to say the view is pretty nice, the environment is good...Suggest changing the menu, or the chef...

It's a good place to taste traditional food from the Netherlands. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and warm. I enjoyed the fondue after spending the day outside with the cold. I tasted the smoked eel for the first time, and I found it interesting and delicious.

I live in Amsterdam and had not been to this place in a while. I went there to enjoy a drink with my wife and two kids on a Sunday afternoon. The place was busy, but with a large number of waiters present service should have been much faster than it was. And regardless of the number of staff, service should have been at a minimum level of friendliness. I almost felt the urge to apologize for being a customer and taking up the waiter’s time, so annoyed and bored was his attitude. But ok, everyone has an off day sometime. However, the most unpleasant surprise came when he handed us the bill which stated, in English only, that “service is not included”. This is a scam! Service is ALWAYS included in the bill in The Netherlands. You can certainly tip at a bar (5% is normal ) if you liked the service, but it is never a requirement. Unlike in some other countries waiting staff are paid decent wages in The Netherlands. This is a dubious attempt to extort money from unexpecting foreign tourists who are unaware of Dutch customs and law. I am extremely disappointed by this and will never visit this place again.

Beautiful restaurant on the canal river. The outdoor tables are small but cozy and the atmosphere and view are relaxing and romantic. The cheese fondue is incredibly good, and I recommend adding the steak for extra deliciousness. The service was very friendly and quite fast. The price is quite high, but it's worth the experience.

Every dish i have tasted here is quite delicious. Burgers, short ribs, steak tartare, cheese fondue, steak were all top notch! The prices are reasonable. The staff is very friendly and service is fast. They have also wide selection of Belgian beers.

Beautiful place for drinks or maximum snacks but not for food! Guys that is ridiculous expensive and we didn’t even finish our meal because the meat was dead before they cooked it or is it even possible to make it that bad?? We paid more than 60€ for fondue and 2 beers and came home crazy hungry. Btw just look at the photo and tell me if it worth this money? I hope they will change cooks and start to be improving but I don’t recommend to eat here and just come for couple of beers with snacks because cocktails doesn’t have alcohol and taste like homemade lemonade. Historic location, filled to the brim with careful details (like the pump on the wall, the labelled barrels and figure head at the entrance). Really warm and homey, great food (recommend the fondue); attentive staff and overall perfect experience. Made our day in Amsterdam.

It was a fantastic restaurant with a super unique atmosphere, food, and drinks. Live accordion music gives an authentic character to the whole experience. The food is fantastic, but we had some thoughts about it. The cheese fondue was incredibly delicious, but the vegetable bowl was just limited to celery, carrots and radish, none of which were our favourites (broccoli or tomatoes could have been better options). The steak was top-notch, but I wish it could be a bigger portion. Ow, and the fries are very nice..!!

Wow, what a meal! Such simple menu items prepared equisitely. I had the Dutch pea soup, which had nice chunks of potatoes and carrots and wonderful pieces of sausage hiding under the parsley. And the beef stew over fries, served with mayonnaise in the traditional style, comes with a generous portion of beef and a side of pickles. There are several beer varieties on tap and the Irish coffee is perfect for dessert. The restaurant setting is charming with outdoor seating and heat lamps on a canal, and indoor seating that is both somehow roomy and cozy. Service: impeccable, warm, and professional. A must visit.

The food was super delicious and really really well priced. Wait staff frequently checked on us and made sure to guide us through our first genever experience! Very highly recommended! The pulled beef barbecue burger was phenomenal!

My husband and I enjoyed our 3pm lunch at this establishment! Service was great, servers were friendly and the food was fantastic! This place is small and very busy, we easily made reservations online and sat immediately upon arrival! We started with the grilled wild boar sausage appetizer. We then shared the beef stew and mussels. I have to add that the mussels were the best I’ve ever eaten! I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a traditional Dutch meal.

A friendly place with a terrace along the canal. Two special dishes are highly recommend: the cheese fondue and the mussels. Different but both very good. The portion is bigger than usual and the "soupe" that is left after eating the mussels is fantastic. Small selection of wines but enough variety to suit all tastes.

A great pub along the canal. Food was great and moderately priced. They a a good selection of beers on tap. I would recommend to a friend and eat here again.

We have a wonderful evening. The service was amazing and friendly. The food was really lovely. We had steak and fries, full of flavour and so tasty. Packed out, and obviously loved by the locals. (I put the flag on the dish) Highly recommend.

One of the places I like in Amsterdam for a relaxing afternoon drink and some snacks. They are conveniently situated by a picturesque canal. They offer sheltered outdoor seating equipped with heaters, making it an ideal choice for enjoying a drink on chilly or rainy days. Their prompt service and the excellent beer and genever pairings come highly recommended.

Great setting to taste great authentic jenever. I opted to sit at the bar and the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Had a blond beer and jenever pairing which was GREAT, highly recommend. The bar staff were more than happy to give local recommendations for other bars and restaurants to carry on the night. Daphne was especially lovely and also offered a few brief pointers about the history of Amsterdam (she should start her own walking tour definitely). Her and her team are a credit to the establishment.

Walking around stumbled on this gem. Quaint set up on the canal. Service was sporadic but worked fine. We had drinks and sandwiches. It was priced reasonable. The ambiance was perfect. Lots to see in the location and canal.

Honestly a little gem of a restaurant. Warm ambiance, welcoming staff, and excellent food. The portions might be considered small, but the quality of the food was incredible, the bitterballen (normally a Dutch street food) appetizer was so tasty and fresh as well as the deer stew and chicken satay which my partner and I split. I'd also say it's fairly priced!

Solid spot, the bartender was great but service otherwise was lackluster. The food was good all around, the short rib I would get again, and the bitterballen were really good as well. Good list of beers and local jenevers.

If I could give them more stars I would! Place is incredible, really nice and typical despite being not full of tourists. Staff and waiters are the nicest and most professional ever. We have been treated so well. Fondue is of course to try but steak is also really good. Good selection of liquors too for the ones who like. Totally recommended!

Pretty terrible experience here today. We had visitors staying who fancied stopping for a beer and a snack en route home on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The waiter was rude as we sat down and then proceeded to serve nothing and nobody for 20minutes. Eventually we gave up and went round the corner to somewhere more welcoming.

This is a great spot with great food and drinks. We really enjoyed our meal, however it took over 1.5 hours to get our food after ordering. We sat outside on a cold rainy evening, but kept warm with blankets and the heat lamps.

Lovely spot for dinner with a great atmosphere. Came on a Saturday night in February for a meal. We were sat downstairs and the staff couldn't have been nicer, very attentive and friendly. We started with Buratta, Bitterballen and Tomato Soup, all were lovely and super fresh, Then for mains, two of us shared fondue with steak and the other had a burger. The fondue was hot and gooey, perfection. The burger was Mid-rare and tasty. Great food. Value for money was great and really enjoyed it overall.

Was recommended to come here by a local. Made a reservation for right when they opened at 12. After 30 minutes it got fairly busy. I got the stew and fries which I thought was delish. My friends got the cheeseburgers and they really enjoyed those as well. Definitely make a stop here.

A super amazing bar located in the amazing Joordan. If you’re lucky to sit outside on a sunny day, the experience would be much better than sitting inside. Food is good, the typical Dutch. And you can really enjoy their beer and wine selections. Staff are super friendly but they forgot to take and bring our order three times. They are overloaded with serving everyone. Helpful but still they need to be more careful for those details.

Great bar and restaurant. We went two nights - one for the fondue (must have, get the steak to go with it) and second time for Dutch beer and genever tasting. Staff are great, and there is even a resident cat who is very friendly! Good vibes and even better beer

Amazing place, great place for coffee, beer and brunch. The customer service par excellence. veggie burger Apple pie with special liquor - and the friendly crew to serve the customers. A word of appreciation to them Must visit in Amsterdam

Managed to get a table for one tonite and I was not disappointed. I was served by what seemed like the main guy inside and he was excellent and very helpful. I simply had the warm goat cheese and walnut salad, a glass of wine and a piece of chocolate cake, along with a “heaven in earth” liqueur. It was all very good!

👍👍 The perfect place to enjoy high-quality seafood at a reasonable price. Was surprised to see this large restaurant buzzing at 5pm (both inside and outside!) but after seeing the fresh fish on display and trying the sashimi which just melts in the mouth I understood why. The staff were also very well-...
