I’ve lived in the neighbourhood for almost 30 years and I’m so glad to see that we have a new, quality Japanese restaurant! I ordered the Taku Teishoku for takeout and it was excellent!!!! I was really impressed with the packaging and the quality and freshness of the ingredients! The Sunomono so refreshing! The oishi sushi tastes great! It was just as good as Miku or Minami. The portions are decent as well. I’ll definitely be back :)

Recently opened in my neighbourhood. Owned by a friendly couple who bring out the best of each ingredient. Tried original teishoku, tsuke salmon don, and a couple of rolls today. Everything is made with high quality ingredients and care. I highly recommend this restaurant to those who are looking for a good sushi restaurant in the neighborhood. There is only one table for four people in the couple's restaurant. Maybe there is a small table in the corner as well. The food ingredient is fresh and nice taste,especially oshi sushi.If possible, salmon sashimi can be thick cut option😋😋 I'll come again.Hope to do better and open bigger stores.

This little restaurant is currently take out only. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We saw many people come and ask questions and they took the time to answer and accommodate. The food is fresh and tasty. Definitely done well. I really liked my Inari sampler and the rolls were very good as well. The Oshi seems to be a big selling point. Don’t let the exterior fool you, definitely worth coming in to order something out.

A very little, awesome family Japanese restaurant. I personally order the Salmon Oshi and thought it was amazing. Fresh ingredients means some items are available on certain days. Very nice owners and chefs. One of the best local gems I have been to.

Wow. I like this new joint. They are definitely a few levels above ASA sushi that used to occupy the same space, and a breath of fresh air if you are used to places like Sushi Garden. Their set menu excelled in both presentation and taste. Portion was enough to feed an adult. We had 2 set menus and that fed 2 adults and 2 toddlers, but not to the point that we felt stuffed, just enough. The variety of different dishes in a set menu was a treat, this made other Japanese joint feels boring even if you are eating a party platter. The restaurant is run by a very pleasant Japanese couple, with very Japanese etiquette. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Went here last night with friends and I will say The owners are super sweet and hard working. The food was amazing and prices are great! Cannot wait to go again. Would giving it 10 stars if I could. Great service and great food are always a win in my book. Definitely a new favorite place!

Got Takus teishoku for $26. I felt like the sushi was average quality, pricing was above average. Takeout only so I would expect better pricing as well. Chef and waitress were very nice though

Small Japanese restaurant that’s very clean and comfty. We ordered the salmon oshi, hamachi oshi as well as tuna toro, salmon avo roll and negi toro roll. All were beyond expectation and is really good value for the price! This has now become my favorite Japanese in the neighborhood!

Excellent quality sushi! The scallop inari in the inari sampler was the best; wish we could get all of that kind!

Food is decent for the pricing here as it is a take out only spot. Our uber driver didn't handle our sushi very nicely so the presentation of the nigiri looks horrible. I had to fix the presentation for the salmon oshi sushi as that was also all over the place when I opened the container.

A wonderful sushi experience! Fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced! Seriously folks, give this place a try. It's a little hole in the wall, but that just means they can focus on the quality of the food. You won't regret choosing Taku for your next sushi order!

One of the greatest avocado rolls I had. Everything they brought out looked good. The dragon roll could have had more crab stuffing, you can customize your order to not have sauce. It would be perfect if they also serve wild rice.

Amazing sashimi salad. Loved the roll combos too! I didn’t take photo but we had beef teriyaki rice and it was amazing too. Service was fantastic. Will be back more!

Small family run Japanese takeout restaurant. A hidden gem in South Burnaby. This is actually authentic Japanese sushi, not that poorly made cheap sushi that falls apart when you pick up pieces. You get what you pay for with sushi and this does not disappoint. Fish is fresh and the food is high quality. You can tell the chef cares about the food he's serving and it shows.

Highly recommended! Very clean and fresh ingredients. Cooked and seasoned rice perfectly. Sushi plating for take out was beautifully done. THE Best takeout sushi near Metrotown south Burnaby area.
