Roots
is
no
longer
a
study/work
place,
it
was
turned
into
a
restaurant
so
don’t
head
there
if
you’re
just
looking
for
a
coffee/drink.
I
would
like
to
share
an
unpleasent
experience
i
had
yesterday.
Roots
has
been
lately
my
go
to
place
in
cairo
and
i
have
been
heading
frequently
for
the
past
couple
of
month.
Yesterday,
two
of
my
friends
went
there
in
the
morning
and
they
have
already
ordered
a
drink
each,
the
staff
were
very
upset
and
arrogantly
tell
them
that
starting
from
today,
the
place
is
going
to
be
a
restaurant
and
that
they
should
order
food
or
dessert
beside
their
coffee/drink.
The
tone
was
weird
and
we
felt
that
it
was
an
obligation
so
we
left.
I
personally
used
to
spend
around
6-7
hours
studying
and
i’d
order
around
like
3-4
cups
of
coffee
plus
a
cookie
or
something,
although
ordering
a
single
drink
is
still
not
a
problem
as
long
as
it’s
not
clarified
on
any
of
their
public
platforms
that
there’s
a
minimum
number
of
hours,
drink,
money
a
person
should
spend
at
your
place.
Not
to
mention
the
amount
of
items
that
are
not
available
from
the
menu
making
the
menu
limited
to
3-4
items
with
really
poor
diversity.
We
don’t
think
we’re
coming
back
but
i
just
wanted
to
report
that
incident.
If
they’re
really
implementing
those
kind
of
rules,
at
least
they
should
make
it
clear
on
their
public
platforms.
