Respectable place

Good, except that the place is very small

We did a 4 day cruise from Aswan to Luxor on an oriental tour owned boat called the Amoura Dahabeya. The cruise itself was nice. The food was well below average, often over cooked meat. The worst however, was the staff. They ask you to “show appreciation“ on the last night before checkout. This means, you put the tips in an envelope and write your name and room number on the envelope. Initially, this seemed odd but ok. However, later, we realised that this is for the captain and crew to count the tips and check which room gave how much. We were accosted by a staff member after dinner where they demanded we double the tip. Mind you, we had already paid for the whole tour booked via our own tour agency (Memphis). Given we still had to stay a last night on the boat for our own safety and comfort, we paid whatever was asked. Unbelievable experience and do not do recommend at all.

They only deal with foreigners, although I am able to book a trip with a foreign nationality, but I want to book it as a citizen... something that is frankly unacceptable.
