I don't understand the hype. The eggs were overcooked-- the egg white were so overdone they looked and tasted like plastic. The charges were ridiculous. We ordered a caramel macchiato which was listed for a certain price on their menu but they slapped an additional 8 pounds for the caramel. We ordered a cheese pizza and they just forgot about it too... which is probably for the best since we were unable to finish our food. The service at 9 am was terrible and slow. I will not be returning.

We came here for breakfast and ordered the shakshuka. It was different from the ones we were used to, but it was still clearly homemade and pretty good. We also ordered the granola and the fatir - a flaky pastry that came with molasses and tahini, or a creamy cheese dip with tomato. For me the flavor combination wasn't my favorite. But it was a nice place to try.

Very nice place for breakfast 👍 loved it. They have some cool fresh juice options, golden milk, all kind of eggs combined with other ingredients. The staff is very friendly, clean toilets. Would totally recommend it

Nice decor, ambience and tiramisu. Bad and slow service. Mediocre food, the spaghetti wasn't cooked well, the risotto lacked a proper amount of cheese, and the ravioli lacked spices. I asked for a change of table when they had 4 empty ones, yet the manager decided it's more about the candlelit dinner, which lasted 5 minutes. I ended up half-watching the "live performance", which had more technical difficulties than actual performing. I probably should've went to McDonald's and people-watched instead.

A normal themed restaurant and coffee shop in town centre I have dinner with them Food wasn’t tasty at all with no flavours However drinks were ok The atmosphere inside good and cozy They have special night on every Thursday Good to have drink but not a food

I liked the atmosphere but the food and service were so bad! There was jazz from 1-3 pm which I really liked it. The place decore and atmosphere were so good as well. However, the food quality and quantity was bad. The chicken taste was not good and the escalope was so hard to cut. The risotto was tasteless. We ordered 3 main dishes and they served each dish separately and there was a gap of like 15 minutes between each dish!

Quiet restaurant with some great rock music. We ordered the breakfast pancakes and sandwiches (both vegan), the cappuccino was pleasant too. I’d recommend this breakfast place to anyone living around downtown cairo! Service was quick, and the staff understood English which was a plus & Free Wifi!

We ordered chicken panne with mozzarella, the chicken piece was veryyyy thin to the point we were not sure if it was actually chicken- will not get to the fries that were awful- and also lasange it tasted weird not tasty at all, mostly cheese.. didn’t like the experience at all.

The food is not as good as it is hyped to be. The risotto was undercooked and the seafood pizza shrimps were not cleaned properly, and the taste was bang average

5 stars for the amazing and delicious food. The customer service was very good little hiccups but was solved professionally by the manager. They're still in the soft opening process you can still smell the fresh paint.

Socially distant seating, good service, busy environment, with live music entertainment on special occasions and weekends. Visited on Christmas eve. My meal was perfect but I didn't choose the Christmas dinner set menu, instead opted for items off the 4 course fixed price menu. The reason I don't score it 5* at this time is because the Christmas dinner plate was somewhat unsatisfying. The turkey was dry and the cranberry sauce was replaced with strawberry jam. We will be back and try other menu choices, and then will update my review.

Very nice space with very ambitious menu, friendly service but like everything else in this place they promise more than what they can and will do, I tried the tomato soup and Greek salad, the soup taste more like koshary souse than any tomato soup I have ever tried, the salad fresh with good quality of white local cheese but not a fine feta cheese, good but not great, not even very good, some of the items on the menu was not actually available, but the space is good and quite, I couldn’t tell what part is for smokers and what part for nine smokers, but this is very common in Cairo where everybody smoke everywhere, in total it’s a good place with very clean restrooms on the second floor.

the place is light and the vibes are instantly good, the waiters are friendly & the breakfast dishes are different which i appreciated because honestly everywhere in egypt makes the same breakfast now. i recommend the smoked baked egg because it has sausage & lots of cheese in it 🍳 the iced tea is good as well

Generally a very nice place. It’s very spacious and comfortable. The staff is cheerfully friendly. The bathrooms are clean. I like their menu, the melanzane was so good. Pastas were tasty but the gnocchi was a little underwhelming. I’d definitely come here again.

Modern cafe. Fast service. Kinda all over the place music. I really enjoyed my time there. The disinfectant smelled a little weird but it's not a complaint. Just bring your own disinfectant and you'll be fine. The minty lemonade is really good and refreshing. My all time favorite hideaway 💜💚💗

Very cool place in one of the busiest neighborhoods in Cairo. I don't know why it's considered as Italian restaurant when it doesn't have any Italian vibe. It has this rustic style yes, but that's authentic for the European cities like Prague, Budapest, etc. Having only Italian food doesn't make you Italian restaurant. Anyway, the food is tasty and the prices are decent, but the portions are not that big especially the salads. Definitely it's cute and different spot in Cairo and its worth visiting especially while strolling in Downtown.

Eish + Malh has a rustic feel while dinning with a touch of modern. The wallpaper is very expressive and the red brights the place up. Beverage: Double espresso latte — is a solid choice. I also tired the coconut milk, which is brewed in house. It gave the latte a rich feel to it. Round 1: Food: Lemon Pancakes: super fluffy pancakes and the lemon reduction was out of this world. I was full after one serving. I order the chicken mozzarella + roasted potatoes to go. It was good. Round 2: Breakfast Pizza: Basterma: dough was light with an egg in the center, along with pastrami and arugula. good for hangovers. Fairly priced and friendly staff.

Disappointing food but nice ambiance and good service. The Ceasar salad with anchovies had soggy breadcrumbs and the sauce was a bit off. Lasagna bolognese was a cheesy mess with hardly any sauce. Denise fish special was also disappointing - bland taste and didn’t taste very fresh. .

Stayed in the cafe for a few hours getting some work done and while waiting for my bus. The cafe has a relaxed atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and speak English. The WiFi is, as with most places in Cairo a bit hit and miss. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. The food is very good. I had the vegan Calzone, and a vegan meatball pasta. Both were very good. Definitely recommend for a quick coffee or a bite to eat

We went at around 2pm so at lunchtime. The staff was nice and respectful but we weren’t impressed with the food. The veggie calzone dough was, as you can see, undercooked. It was stuffed with zucchini, way too little mushroom and way too much bell pepper. It lacked any sort of sauce to blend the flavors together. As for the bruschettas (tomato/pesto and cheese), two of them had only tomatoes (lacked any additional flavor) and the other two had cheese but very little pesto sauce that we didn’t even get a hint of its taste. The juices were normal. The overall ambiance was nice.

To be honest I came because of the reviews , but it turned out that the restaurant is really bad ( Food is very not tasty and burned) bread is hard. There’s a cat walking in and the staff saying it’s fine. There’s also flys that goes all over the place and food. First and last time. Not recommended at all. We are 2 people and paid 800 it’s too expensive for nothing

We were a large group of business colleagues. The place is basic and the seating area was large, tge restaurant was almost empty when we arrived there. We placed our orders quickly, most of them were pizza and pasta, I ordered tomato soup and mixed cheese pizza. The food came in a reasonable time and it was tasty. The only bad thing is that one order was missing and this person had to cancel it! Overall the place is nice, the food is tasty and prices are a bit high but it meets their ingredients quality.

Came here due to the good reviews. There was only one other couple when we arrived. It took a very long time for our coffees to come and the breakfast as well. Extremely slow service for no reason. The breakfast was not great and I wouldn’t come back here. Shakshuka is not meant to have boiled eggs inside, it lacked flavours and like I said the wait even for coffee was ridiculous. Very overhyped cafe unfortunately

Located in the heart of downtown Cairo, directly in front of one of Egypt's few remaining synagogues, Eish + Malh is definitely a go-to spot. It is beautifully adorned with sunflowers every time I'm there, the staff are very friendly, and the food is great. I would recommend trying the baked eggs for breakfast. When I was there they had quaint farmer's markets in the weekend, and at night they have live musicians playing acoustic/jazz. Follow their activity on FB if you want to learn more about the events that they have there.

Eish + Malh has become an institution in the Down Town Cairo. Whether you want to sit for hours to work, or have a big gathering over lunch, this place is for everyone. The food is great, service friendly, and prices fair. They have jazz over brunch on weekends, which can make it a bit too loud for my taste. On the first Friday of every month, E+M host Slow Down Town, where small, local food producers sell their goodies. They also offer a special farm-to-fork menu on that day. Reserving is highly recommended over weekends.

Went a dinner and sax event there.. Wonderful place.. I'm gonna be always recommending it.. Food is not at its best there.. Pizza was great and also Chicken.. Pasta was undercooked.

  • 4/5 Aly K. 4 years ago on Google
Let me start off by saying that the food is delicious and would definitely satisfy your cravings. There's no expansive menu to get lost in, just a small selection of main courses, pastas, pizzas and other delicacies. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, the place could use some basic maintenance work specially in the bathrooms. Also, Live performances could get so loud that you won't be able to chat with the person you're having dinner, so if you're looking for a romantic night out, maybe pick a day without any live music.

  • 4/5 sali m. 4 years ago on Google
Excellent downtown restaurant that offers quality food with affordable prices. The place offers live music Jazz over weekends in saturday brunch. I recommend the place for breakfast, specially the smoked eggs in the oven with American coffee. They have also organic infusions that are very good.

Very slow and non-professional waiters. I've asked 3 waiters about the soup of the today, they told me that they would check and revert but they never did. A very small food portion. As a cafe, you can try their handmade ice cream, it's the greatest item in their menus.

  • 5/5 Nihal S. 4 years ago on Google
Went for Thanksgiving dinner, and got it Egyptian style. The dinner was plated: turkey breast slices, cranberry sauce, gravy, stuffing, mashed sweet potato, and there was pumpkin soup to start, and pumpkin pie to end. The service was quick and friendly, the turkey (never a favorite of mine) was cooked to perfection, and it was the best stuffing I have ever had (aromatic and full of flavor). The atmosphere is informal, and the place is in an authentic downtown building (super high ceilings) with modern wall art. The live band (drums & horns?) was astonishingly good. Can't wait to go back. Eclectic crowd of all ages.

  • 4/5 Ahmed M. 4 years ago on Google
First of all, I loved the atmosphere of the place. It's really cozy and just comforting to hang about. The prices are fairly average, which is good. I can't say the same about the drinks' taste, however. I mean, it's not bad, but not good either. Still, it's a fun experience. Recommended to try for yourself. Also, do not go there using your car. Finding a parking space is impossible.

As a resident of Cairo, both me and my partner strongly believe that this is the best place in town for brunch! Their menu is extensive with both sweet and savoury options, including breakfast pizzas and they make their own coconut milk for their coffees! If you live in Cairo, you’ll know how hard it is to get milk alternatives. To top it all off they make their own maple walnut ice cream to accompany their French toast and finding this after Canada Day, just made be smile. An absolute must visit!

Went there in a winter morning. There weren't a lot of people there, so the atmosphere was quiet, the music was soothing, soft jazz. I highly recommend the place for a quiet early morning breakfast, very encouraging for studying and reading.

Coffee is super. And I am so proud of the ladies who are running that restaurant. The service is so good, so you can go to meet your friends or have a food or coffee alone and it's very good place to work on your laptop and writing... The only thing that might be changed is the music, it's not bad but it would be better. Love eish & malh.

The pizza was not really good. We ordered feta cheese and after 10 minutes the waiter came and said they do not have any cheese at all. Quite late if you ask me. Prices are okay, but not cheap. Portions are quite small. The restaurant has a good flair to it and everything is clean.

Comfortable cafe not too far from the Khan el-Khalili Market. Decent food but not really Italian (they use local cheese not Italian cheese). Food was priced well but not top quality. Service was good but food was slow. Note that there is no outdoor seating and they allow smoking indoors.

Salad was good taste and good size, a bit of Greek dressing I missed. No vinegar or oil on the table. Pizza ( I choosed the "Eish Malh ) was still to "white" and by far to small for me ( I, and for sure other also, could easily eat two of them ). Everything was very clean and the waiter very fast, always looking if something is missing.👍 Unfortunately at the end on the bill they add Service Charge AND tax ! It should be included in the prices on the menu like on 99,999 percent of the other restaurants in Egypt. The customer shouldn,t need to calculate when he want,s to go for dinner or lunch....

Nice vibe with decent food. Prices are reasonable for the not small but not large portions. Gets a bit hot in the evening. Pizza tasted good. Polo a lemon wasn’t great. Chicken was dry. Sautéed vegetables weren’t sautéed. Very small portions

Great little gem in downtown Cairo. I love their coffee and the freshly baked bread. Their egg dishes are very tasty. My favourite is the pastrami calzone. I went twice, the second time was busy and service was slow. This is not cheap by any means you easily end up paying 250 egp pp for breakfast coffee and a small dessert

I enjoy being there, the spot is perfect , the food is so tasty (burger & pasta & pizza) main dish could be better but generally I love this place the most ♥️ Stuff are very welcoming & decent , bathroom are clean and the dining room is hygiened. Wasn’t my first time & will never be my last 😊

The turmeric drink was absolutely amazing! If you like your eggs cooked you can ask them to do it for you which I think is great ! 🤩 it was all very delicious

If you want spend 1h waiting your food and after ask 3 time when you will be served it’s the best place. And after claiming for the 4th time they said it’s not possible to make pasta with tomato sauce. Don’t go there.

(Translated by Google) The food and drinks are good to some extent, but I didn't like the atmosphere. The staff are standing looking and every bit they pass between the tables for no reason. I know that this is because of the service, but it's not comfortable at all.

Nice large cafe, with big windows that are open onto the street. There is a no smoking section, which consists of the tables closest to the entrance. Decaf filter coffee/French press is available here which was great for me. The decaf coffee was strong and had a good flavour. Cappuccino was also good. Tried the apple crumble with granola ropping and the granola was so hard. It was like trying to eat gravel. I took it back and the staff exchanged it for a carrot cake, which was delicious. Total bill for 1 decaf coffee, 1 Cappuccino and 1 carrot cake was 160egp this was inclusive of taxes and service charge. These are both automatically added to the bill. Cards are taken for payment. I would return again for coffee and cake for sure.

After Ramadan if you'd love a very quiet breakfast, go early at 7am for Shakshouka or granola with poached fruit. The service is lovely; the American coffee good - & if you are there Saturday stroll round the corner to see the site of the new Intercontinental - and spend an hour at the Saturday market for antiques.

It's so annoying the rate of deterioration that has happened here It used to be much better than that The food was tasteless & the service was very slow I would never go back again

I liked the decor and you could sense the nostalgia, but there were lots of flies everywhere. I ordered a salad, the portion was very very small and was served on a flat dish; when I requested to cancel my order, the manager very rudely interrupted us, mocked us up and said it is salad not pasta ; my friend responded that we used to order salad from other places and this is the first time we have received this level of service; 2 minutes later, the waiter returned and said sorry but it is our portion and I said okay, I respect it and please accept my decision. Also my friend ordered a burger with fries and the taste was very bad. This place left a very bad impression on me, and I will not return to it or recommend it to anyone. I am very disappointed in the manager's lack of effort and his attitude.
