I stayed at Urban Hive for a month, and it felt like a home away from home. The staff is super friendly, nice and accommodating, and ensures everything to make the guests comfortable. It’s centrally located on Long Street, in a beautiful heritage building, and has many hangout places like bar, balcony, lounge. The rooms, bathrooms, kitchen are all well maintained and super clean. All in all a perfect experience and will definitely stay there whenever I visit again.

Got a last minute room was lucky .paid on arrival . The lady was so nice. But the place is a bit small because its in town i guess

Great for backpackers, especially foreign tourist who like cheap accommodation. The neighborhood isn't secured to walk at night but the hostel itself has locked gate and security 24/7. Parking is available right outside most of the time.

Really fun hostel! I had a great time at urban hive and I met lots of great people :) The guests and the staff were all amazing and made my stay memorable. The location is ideal for someone like me who is young and wants to go out to bars, clubs and nice restaurants.

Check in took 2 hours. Had to come back twice. Was told there is Coffee in the morning only to be hit with a R15 cash price for a flippen ricoffy I had to make myself. Not happy about that, don't mess with a hard working man's coffee. I might book again if can get an apology from management.

I am disgusted in this backpackers! Booked a room for a friend and paid for two nights. His bus was delayed on he arrived 1 day late. They didn't allow him to stay and didn't bother to pay me back. The lady also treated him badly! Will never book here again and I will report this to Hello Peter!

Laundry service ruined all of my clothes. Spoke to staff who said they would get back to me over the matter and no one did, despite two emails. Very dissapointing.

The location is great, everything is just right next to you. The staff was really friendly and quick to answer any queries. Side notes for dorm you should put few coins on the side to rent a locker. Besides that I love my stay there.

Urban Hive was my first introduction to Cape Town. Long Street was lively and overlooking the nightlife and bustling city life from the balconies was wonderful. Travelers coming and going along with a friendly and helpful staff made the stay that much better. I stumbled across Urban Hive during a 4 month travelling adventure around the world. My original plan was to be in Cape Town for 2 weeks, but I fell in love with the city and with Urban hive. My 2 week stay turned into 2 months and it was the best decision I could ever make. It was an extremely affordable stay. I would have paid 10 times what I did for the experience and friendships that I made. The owner along with the staff of the hostel is extremely hard working. I ended up staying in 5 different rooms throughout my stay. Ranging from rooms with 9 beds to individual rooms. Every room was clean with a bed that facilitated a restful nights sleep. Also switching rooms was my own decision. When my check out time came the staff was very accommodating and would ask if I wanted to extend my stay in the room I was currently in. I fell in love with this hostel and chose to try different rooms. I met amazing people and it was an amazing stay. Thank you to the Hive! It was an adventure that I will never forget :)

Cosy bunk bed. Large fridge for commune. Beautiful back garden/ smoking area. Nice location. Flat screen TV to watch the game and meet new people.

The place is beyond wonderful from the staff to the service.

The place has been refurbished lately with nice wood floors, clean feeling bathrooms, spacious decks and a cool little courtyard, it is very cozy feeling. The staff are a mix of volunteers and long-termers and are friendly and helpful. The owner is down to earth and accessible. The location is in the heart of the Longstreet party seen so it's an easy walk to many downtown amenities. Walking around felt safe enough but the area can be sketchy after 2am or so. Also, Thursday night through Saturday night Long street is packed and the hostel is in the middle of the noise and the fun.

From check I'm to check out and reception it's a wonderful experience, absolutely loved it, they've got a massive balcony for smokers and a dedicated sections for those who smoke weed. Friendly staff and amazing place to stay in.

Highly recommend it, The place is clean, the people are always friendly and it's all good vibes. Pick this you won't regret it.

The worst visit to a hostel I have ever had. The Unique Selling Proposition is a clean bed, not one full of bed bugs and dirt from the previous tenant. For health, avoid this place.

Love the experience of staying here and meeting new people. The staff are extraordinary friendly and always willing to help.
