If you are planning on getting a good night sleep here good luck! You are likely to either be kept awake by their self hosted parties, loud youngsters celebrating on the corridors, aggressive screaming from people coming home drunk or drunk driving accidents. Stay far away...

I have been quite unimpressed with Curiocity’s poor treatment and business practices. My reservation number is 8353 in case they try to claim that this is a fake or false review. Since June 2022, I have been attempting to be refunded money without avail. At this point, they have stolen from me. On June 20, 2022, I made an advanced payment in the amount of R11,9000 for a booking from December 27, 2022-January 3, 2023. On June 22, 2022, I informed Curiocity that my travel plans had changed and I would no longer be traveling to CPT. They informed me that, in accordance with their refund policy, I was eligible for a full refund given how much advanced notice I had given them. They requested me to share my bank details with them, which I did. They then informed me that the refund would take 30-60 days to be debited back to my account because it was a non-South African banking account (I am American). At the 60 day mark, I followed up with Curiocity as I had not received the refund. They claimed that it was an issue with their accounts department and that they would “check with accounts” and get back to me. I followed up repeatedly and kept getting the same response that someone on the Curiocity team would “check with accounts;’ however, no one ever followed up with me regarding the outcome of this supposed conversation with their accounts department. I reached out to Curiocity once again on September 14, 2022 and they did not bother to respond. In the correspondence on September 14, 2022, I forwarded communication from PayGate that stated that Curiocity could issue the refund through PayGate instead of to my bank account. Issuing the refund through PayGate would have eliminated the “issues” that Curiocity was having with my account being international. Again, my emails and WhatsApp messages were ignored. I had to enlist the help of a law firm in Cape Town to assist me with trying to recover my money. Curiocity is continuing to give the same excuse that there is some sort of hold up with their accounts department. The year is 2022—transferring money between international bank accounts can be accomplished quickly and through several different modalities, as evidenced by the quick (1 business day), successful transfers to my lawyers in SA. There is really no excuse why the refund would take nearly four months and there is certainly no excuse or rationale why a business should stop all communication with a customer regarding a refund. In doing so, they have stolen from me. I still have not received my refund as of October 11, 2022. Given Curiocity’s grotesque handling of this situation, I recommend that no one book with them as I truly would not want anyone else to be subjected to this.

This was my first time lodging in a hostel. I was anxious and very concerned about safety, cleanliness and noise.level. The place was quiet, the linen was clean and I was happy with the lockers provided to keep safe my belongings. Assistance at Reception was sterling. Idah is doing a great job.

My boyfriend and I stayed in a double room and it was really cozy and clean. Unfortunately we could only stay for one night, I would have enjoyed to stay a few more nights. The room also has a kitchen, so it is a great place to stay for a longer period of time. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Not only did they go out of their way to make us feel comfortable during our stay, but even after we left they didn't hesitate to help us solve the problem of a forgotten charger.

Great service (especially from Christopher and Ida). Also, thankx for helping on such short notice. We really enjoyed our stay - rooms are spacious and comfortable with a great variety of appliances, eg microwave, proper hairdryer, two point plugs, etc. Thankx.

Amazing place to stay. We were with a group of 60 and the team was absolutely wonderful. Everyone was so sweet, the rooms were clean and the service was incredible. Location is also great, it's a short walk to the Waterfront. Thank you guys and see you soon :)

It's okay for a hostel. It's definitely very clean, but also very minimal. It's perfect if you're looking for a place to sleep/shower and that's about it. What's nice is that the rooms have kitchens too, so self-catering is an option. The location is perfect. You're walking distance from restaurants, cafés, Cape Town Stadium, the beach and the V&A Waterfront. The service is on par and excellent, and they have electric scooters parked right outside. If you're a young and especially solo traveller, this hostel would be ideal.

Lovely place I have ever been! Nice and friendly people come here, well atleast that's what I'm currently experiencing. The stuff always on point with their jobs and very nice too! This place is allocated in the best part of Cape Town where you are able to get almost everything you might look for. Shops,Pub's,Restaurants everything! Even though the swimming pool is so small, it's very nice and clean and always get time alone in it.. the place is very simple and perfect. Love it!!!

Bugs in the room and bathroom. First day when I arrived the bedding was used. Overall good experience with my stay but crew can definitely step up on cleanliness

super filthy. the dorms have people living in them so they have no respect, bathroom and everywhere is strewn with items everywhere …. it’s disgusting. I think was bedbugs as was bitten all night and have welts over body but could also be mosquitos … just dire and nothing like images. Wifi is fast and location is … decent

One of the worst places I ever stayed at. The only nice thing was the location but everything else was terrible. Not clean, locks were broken meaning anyone could enter the room. Toilet and bathroom were not clean. For the storage only 2 places from 4 people available, and looks like hasn’t been cleaned in years. Worst part was waking up in the middle of the night hearing water on the floor only to find out someone was peeing in the room on the floor. Absolute disgusting, would not recommend for anyone

Great spot with quite a central location. Safe off street parking and good coffee.

Wouldn't recommend. Bathrooms never get cleaned properly, facilities are basic, and there's no maintenance done to the property.

We enjoyed staying at as a group of 20 people. We were very close to most places of interest, staff was very friendly. I would love to ask them to remove the kitchen bins when guests stay more than 2 days.

Best place to be in Cape Town. We've been here for 2 months and we're going to spend a 3th. Excellent for long stay too: great position, the service is just amazing and the staff is always so kind.

Being from the us, I was so nervous about being in South Africa the first time! This staff is THE BEST hotel staff I have ever ran into! And that says a lot coming from me since I do have such high standards! When I come back to capetown I will be back!

Very friendly staff, location is great and the place looks as it appears on the pictures. Affordable place to stay as a solo traveler. If only they can clean the dorms daily

So affordable, convenient and beautiful! The place is well kept and the service is impeccable. Every staff member is friendly and always willing to help. On top of that, the Wi-Fi is strong! Curiocity offers activities to do in groups as well, like hiking, so you won’t get bored. There’s an entertainment area and lovely people to meet. Secure parking available too. Each floor has cameras so you will definitely feel safe.

Stayed with my family and extended family in December. What an amazing experience. The staff, especially Idah, is so helpful, professional, efficient and friendly. We experienced this level of service way before we arrived. Arrival and check in was breeze. The accomodation is clean and ideal for family. It is secure and safe. Centrally located Thank you for the sweet Christmas surprise for all the kids. We will definitely back. I will be contacting you soon to book for year end. Regards Shawna
