At 8 pm the hotel called us demanding to know where we were, I assume to try to give away our rooms (that were already prepaid with Wyndham points). Glad they called but that's still pretty early to expect all reserved, prepaid guests to be there, especially considering how uncomfortable the rooms were. The rooms smelled like mildew, and the smell of the air conditioner made us gag. Even the shower water had an old sewage smell. The towels had hair on them, and the hotel shampoo that was provided in the bathroom was half used with white goo on top. Our nonsmoking room comforters had burn holes in them and the sheets were like sandpaper. 2 channels worked on the TV. Would not recommend.

They suck The two guys who checked me in and out were respectful, helpful, and friendly. I have only two minor complaints which are why I dropped it a star. First, the "breakfasts" are a joke. Cold cereal and apple juice does not constitute a "breakfast" in any religion's book. The orange juice wasn't even offered the two days I stayed there. And the coffee is so watered down I could barely tell it was coffee. Secondly, the woman who replaced the two guys is uh, "humorless." Professional enough, but no give and take in our conversations. Wouldn't even crack a smile at my jokes. This is a hospitality service and it'd be nice if she were a tad more hospitable. Update June 14, 2023: I am a disabled Vietnam-era Navy vet. I asked for a noon checkout today and this same Millennial ho gave me a hard time. Even though I am a Diamond Rewards member, she gave me such a hard time that I got out of there ASAP. Fire her, please.

The manager was very friendly. They gave me exactly the room I wanted. The only downfall was the bed was too low to the ground and it was a king size bed with only three pillows. We asked for another pillow and they said they didn't have any.. other than that we had a great time and a great steak at Super 8 and everything was close to eat, etc...

The staff at the motel was friendly, and the price was reasonable for two adults and a teen needing a place to stay overnight. However, this Super 8 is definitely more like a motel than a hotel, with very limited accommodations. I urgently needed to use the bathroom during check-in, but no communal bathrooms were available, so we were told that we had to check in first, lol. The furnishings and everything looked exactly like they did on Expedia, but somehow didn't quite match the pictures; they seemed enhanced a bit ;-). The description mentioned that the place had been remodeled, which my husband, being in construction, found amusing. The pillows felt like they were stuffed with cotton balls, and the bed covers looked a bit gross, although everything was clean and organized. The bathroom was spotless, with easy-to-figure-out shower controls (which we appreciated - no sudden cold water or bursting hot stream across your head). The hotel offered a basic breakfast (cereal, milk, bagels, etc.). I found it super amusing when my husband asked the receptionist if they had "waffles," lol The paintings in the room were comical - huge canvases of stones. Despite the basic accommodations, thanks to the friendly check-in and check-out staff, we had a good time. One annoyance was that our neighbors were blasting TV at 3 in the morning.

This used to be a very nice hotel. Are used to brag about having the cleanest rooms in town that is no longer the case. The hotel has really gone down over the last few years. I am from Carbondale and I have stayed at this hotel every time I come home for a visit. the appearance seems to get worse and worse.

You get what you pay for and maybe less with this place. The “free breakfast” was not really a breakfast but rather some apples/bananas, wafers and cereal without milk. The place was dated and the beds were like sleeping on wire springs. The bathroom sink would not drain and the tub was chipping and peeling. The TV did not work. The curtains were stained brown. I think the only positive was the sheets appeared to be clean.

It was not at all what I expected from a Wyndham hotel ! I paid 140.00 for a one night stay and it was terrible. Dingy towels … a little piece of soap .. and rooms dimly l lighted. It would be better to sleep in your car… worst hotel I have ever been in!!! Wyndham could have done much better!! Did not like the room and 24 hrs couldn’t come fast enough Terrible… total rippoff

The rooms are clean at an affordable price. The location is good. There is a University Mall which is 0.2 miles away with lots of shops. Overall it is a good place to stay.

The beds are horrible! The shower head is barely hanging on. A guy knocked on my door once and did not wait for me to say come in. He just used his key card and entered my room. How creepy!!! I will NEVER EVER stay here again. Ever!!

The TV in the room was impossible to operate, you couldn't pull any channels up. They refused to give me back my $50 deposit saying that they smelled traces of weed in the room and found ashes. First of all, we barely left our room unless it was to let the dogs out. Second, my husband actually hates littering. He would much rather put his cigarette out and put it in his pocket then throw it on the ground and they had no ashtrays outside. Third, since the second that we walked into the lobby, the people behind the desk were looking at my husband like he was trying to rob them. Little do they know that the reason my husband has such long hair is because he had 2 brain surgeries. And he grows his hair long to hide the scars on his forehead and hair line. On top of all this, I'm still trying to figure out why we were treated so badly when we come there every time we get a chance. I remember the girl making some remarks about me actually living in Carbondale. Even though it isn't her business that I live in town, I told her that my boyfriend lives out of town and I prefer that he stays there. Yes it sounds a little confusing here. My husband and I just recently got married and wanted to make the night special by staying there since he did when he would visit. Of course, that got ruined by the staff.

Next door to restaurants, the mall, a strip mall, valvoline oil lube store, 2 phone stores, car dealerships. Great service by owners, clean and quiet rooms, continental breakfasts, pet friendly, lots of parking space, free wifi, non smoking motel, reasonable rates. A great place to stay whether you are traveling through, or just need a place to get away from it all.

Upon doing a routine matress check for bedbugs, I discovered that the mattress covering and bedding had not been cleaned properly. Upon reporting this to the managers they insisted that this was not a big deal, we're appalled that I considered it unclean, informed me that they were sold out of rooms, and refused to provide me with a refund. I would not recommend this place. Sleep in your car if you have to!

The staff wakes me up at like 5 am and says they need to inspect my room for smoke. No smoke. No anything. I don’t know why this was done but I will never stay there again. Very petty. And they refuse visitors. A co worker came here to ask me for help with a job and the hotel was rude. Made him leave. Said I’m not allowed visitors.

Found bandaids and dog feces around the bed upon arrival. Left a used bottle of shampoo for the next guest to use and somewhat dusty. Barely saw the staff and was not the best. Horrible to multiple guests and overheard staff violating ADA laws and calling a guest a liar. Quite unprofessional.

I had a room booked for 1 night. The first room I was given smelled horrible and had stains on the sheets/comforter, they gave me a different room that was at least cleaner ans didn't smell as bad.. Well, I ended up not needing the room that night, so I went to the front desk to see about any possible type of refund, the man at the front counter was very rude about it, and then while I was speaking to him, his personal cell phone rang, and he answered it and just started having a conversation in his native languange(not English) and just dismissed me like I didn't matter ad ignored me like I wasn't there until I yelled at him, and told him he was rude. Then, when another man - who was actually nice - talked with me and advised they couldn't help me, the first man LAUGHED and said " that's what I told her". Wow, way to be Rude to your customers... not only did he answer the phone while I was trying to talk to him, but he also laughed at me and my situation. Will never go back!
