Really good one night stay, was upgraded to a king room which was big and the bed was super comfortable. The air con was set very warm when I arrived which was nice as it was -1 outside! The reception staff were really friendly despite a very rude customer (not me!). Breakfast was tasty and the breakfast staff were helpful. The gym is a good size with plenty of machines.

I’ve had an awesome experience at this Marriott. I got free upgrade to the Executive Room due to being a gold member. The stay was great, rooms are renovated, great air conditioning and my goodness the bed sheets are extremely good. Very clean and relaxing rooms. Gym is a good addition. We’ve had access to the 24/7 lounge which was great plus. Free breakfast, drinks, dinner and coffee. The lounge was extremely nice. One downside is the housekeeping, which was weird. Sometimes it was at 6pm and sometimes at 9:30am (woke us up). This was very inconsistent and annoying.

This hotel is great value. The location is excellent, walking distance from the train station. Friendly and amazing staff. The breakfast is very good including other meals. Highly recommend this place.

The room was fantastic, and the service even better! When we arrived, the lady at the check in was brilliant and really friendly. Alongside this, in the evening my partner was not very well, and even at 3 in the morning the reception staff were incredibly helpful and they had a smile on their face! So whoever the two gentlemen were working the 30/31st evening they were brilliant!

Excellent hotel and an incredible location. My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights while on a getaway it is about a five minute walk from the train station and only about a ten minute walk to the castle. When we arrived we were greeted and checked in by a incredible friendly and helpful lady on the desk our stay could not have been better.

A great thank you to staff members for their excellent service, professionalism, and friendliness as I enjoyed my two weeks of staying at the hotel. The hotel's central position put everything within walking distance of us. My Deluxe Queen Room reservation turned out to be great, as it was so comfortable and spacious. A mini-fridge was in the room, but it wasn't cold enough for me. Great Wi-Fi was available. The only two things I didn't particularly like were the fact that I could clearly hear everything going on outside my room and on the streets too as the room is located above a bar. And, the restaurant on the opposite side of the elevators area has an unpleasant smell of cooking/food.

Great hotel with wonderful staff. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but it’s nice on the inside. The rooms are nice and large with comfortable beds and linens. Nice bar and restaurant. It’s in a great location with a secure parking garage. There is a nightly charge but most hotels close or in the city center have you park in public parking which isn’t as safe. We struggled finding it and had to call. The very kind man at the front desk gave very specific instructions. We had originally mapped to the Google maps location . Once he gave us directions. When following his instructions, we did see small street signs helping guide people there. We just missed them.

Truly stunning hotel, the staff can't do enough for you and are so friendly. The room was extremely clean and spacious and the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with a great selection covering whatever you may desire. Located in the heart of Cardiff City centre so close to all amenities but once inside the hotel you'd never know you were located within the city centre. Check in and check out was very straight forward. Definitely worth the price

Well situated in the city centre. Friendly professional staff. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Room was quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic hotel, super location, brilliant staff, really really brilliant staff. Rooms were great, really comfortable. Cannot fault it. My only negative comment would be the pillows weren't sorry supportive but that's a personal preference and not really a negative. Would definitely stay again!

Comfortable room with decent level of services. AVOID the breakfast buffet option at £18 - this has gone downhill dramatically since we last stayed 18 mths ago. Close to town centre, which is the only aspect that saves it from getting three stars.

Nice hotel in the heart of Cardiff. The rooms are generally at a good standard (however not all brand new in terms of bathrooms etc), the staff is very friendly and the overall experience was really good, especially compared to the price of the stay (I was positively surprised). The only ‘buy’ was the location of the executive lounge, as it feels like it’s hidden away, although it’s a very nice lounge!

Booked a standard room and was "pleasantly surprised" when we were upgraded to an executive suite (sans executive lounge). Turns out.... All executive rooms are on the north side of the building adjacent loud restaurants playing base filled music until late in the night. Now I understand the "complimentary upgrade" as if they were doing us a favor. Would not stay here again for the sole reason of knowingly being patronized so flagrantly. Night desk staff was apologetic but was unable to move our room due to being fully booked. Clearly, patrons who arrived before us knew to move rooms and hence why we got "upgraded". Edit to add that TV doesn't work, ac running for about 5 hours now and has barely changed the room temp (did go down a little so I guess "it works").

This is a typical Marriott and as such, a good facility. It has its own underground parking, which is easy to manage even in larger vehicles; this is unusual and a good facility. The room lacked a desk, so I was offered access to the business suite, with access to a desk and plug socket, enabling me to work. In accessing the business suite I was also offered the food and drink within the suite, at no extra cost; I appreciated this. Getting to the hotel required me to contact the hotel itself, because of traffic restrictions. Marriotts automated system for contacting the hotel was awful. Talking with people from all around the world is very nice, but not when you are trying to describe a regional facility. The word, Cardiff, was beyond some of them. Breakfast was typical for Marriott and evening food was via their restaurant, which was reasonable. The very sweet ice cream is one to avoid if you are diabetic. The staff were outstanding: polite, helpful, problem solvers, and they all know how to smile, which in so many facilities is rare.

Great location, not great everything else. Uncomfy pillows, extractor fan in bathroom didn't work. Also charged my card £40 without notice or approval on top of my paying for the rooms for no reason. They have awarded a refund that I'm still waiting for.

Stayed for a night in the week. Room was lovely, everything we needed and comfortable. Staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for us during our stay, great location in the centre of Cardiff and walking distance to bars, restaurants and local attractions. Had food out in the evening but the hotel restaurant and bar were busy with a lovely seating area outside. Had breakfast in the morning which was buffet style with a wide variety from cereal, fruit and pastries to cooked breakfasts. All in all a great stay, would happily stay again and recommend.

Very poor quality room. Shower came away from wall very late at night and had to be moved to different hotel. No desk in room, just large empty space. Carpet not good. Worst Marriot hotel we have ever stayed in and won't be back. We will use a different hotel chain for business from now on.

Recent 2 night stay Parking is 18£ per night (unable to reserve, no discount for hotel guests) For directions -> ///strike.price.towns No access from parking into hotel, must pass via entrance gate and uncovered to the hotel. If raining - use the pull up and drop zone before parking the car Overall the hotel is very average version of Marriott. At 150£ a night, I would describe it as good value for money. The bed was surprisingly of low quality with a very low count spring coil mattress. If you do stay here- ask for an upper floor room facing the bay - not for the views but to insulate you from the noise of the night clubs on the city center side. The bar has an outdoor terrace which conveniently stays in the sun for quite awhile into the golden hour given its positioning and avoidance of other tall buildings in the direction of the setting sun

Chelsea was super nice and such a lovely person. She ensured our food was hot, asked for drinks and make sure we were all okay. The atmosphere was calming and nice environment to eat. Definitely going again

Really enjoyed the stay here. Bed is very comfortable and the ability to control the Aircon is great. Bathroom is fine. The view was great of the city. Very convenient location. The executive lounge has snacks throughout the day and for breakfast there's a nice variety spread (eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, baked goods, yogurt bar, cereal options, coffee machine for a variety, juice, water and soda).

The location is excellent and the property has beautiful rooms. I must appreciate the customer support offered by Ms Lowri Jones. She addressed all of my concerns and even sent my stuff which I forgot at the property. Will definitely recommend

room looked old even though the hotel was said to be renovated. there is a fridge but it's not cold. very short staffed - needed some extra towels in the evening but no one would pick up the phone. went down to reception and asked for it. didn't arrive after 30 minutes and had to call them again. finally arrived after another 30 minutes. very conveniently and centrally located - huge shopping mall and restaurants right next to it. note that there is no longer a pool in there.

The one and only Marriott property to stay in Cardiff. The service was good and the rooms were decent. Its proximity to the city centre makes it convenient. Most of the places are within walking distance. For those planning to park at the hotel, definitely study your route, the road leading to the parking wasn’t that obvious.

We had a great 2 night stay. All the staff at check in and check out were great. Lovely clean room with a super soft bed. Great secure underground parking on site with loads of spaces (extra charge) the Browns restaurant and bar was class with a live piano player while we had a few cocktails. It was in a perfect location for shopping and eating out. Perfect for bag drops during our Christmas shopping. We didn't try the food in the restaurant but it was always busy. We will definitely be booking again for our next Cardiff trip. Thanks to all staff.

Nice hotel in fantastic location. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms nice and clean but bathrooms dated. Car parking was an issue. We travelled a long way and had to wait for a space as it was full - maybe prioritise hotel guests over public parking. Also many cars parked over two spaces which limited the number available. We eventually got a space after waiting for someone to leave. Browns restaurant was very disappointing. Took over an hour (booked table for 1630 and got our food at 1810) to be served our meals and then the expensive steaks we asked for rare came very well done. This ruined the birthday celebration we came for. If you are going to accept large party groups then make sure you have enough staff to serve the rest of the restaurant guests. Being a Marriott member means I will probably use this hotel again but only because of the membership rewards. This is probably the least favourite of all the Marriott's I have been to.

The location of this hotel is superb! Right in the city centre and within walking distance of bars, restaurants, and attractions. The staff are really friendly and approachable. They helped with any queries we had and always said hello when you walked past reception. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I had a large TV inset into the wall, with lots of channels and access to casting from a personal device. Tea, coffee, water, and biscuits are also provided. The bathroom was nice too. Only downside was the shower was difficult to turn on. It also ran hot and cold a few times which wasn't great. The breakfast was tasty with plenty of options available. They could, however, make their dietary restriction labels a little clearer to see. Overall, I'd happily stay here again.

What a perfect location. In the heart of the city center. The rooms were bug and housekeeping did a great job. Good choice of breakfast. The staff were so lovely and helpful. On site parking is perfect as well.

Lots of things good about hotel, Great staff Lovely & clean everywhere Comfy bed Small gap in window for fresh air I like the safe parking Breakfast was a bit of a let down though, The food quality was really NOT great & a cold fried egg a big disappointment. There was a lot of music noise going well in to early hours of the morning.

Part of well known chain with great entrance and very central spot. However the Cafe'/Brasserie at the entrance produces a smell of food constantly in the hall, room was very badly services as bed sheets not even pulled properly and shower/bath nor cleaned as after losing my earring on the first day I have found it in the shower/ bath in th evening of my third day!! Room was spacious but it was facing the main road with a club thumping loud music till dawn!! However the Executive Club is a quiet and nice place for breakfast or a drink and the Staff at the reception were really nice and helpful.

A group of us came for lunch at Brown’s Restaurant at the Marriott on 11th October. We had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, made even better by the excellent young lady Han, who took care of us. She was absolutely delightful. So helpful, pleasant and efficient. She really is a treasure. We will be back ❤️

We really enjoyed our stay. My partner was a bit disappointed there were no hash browns in the executive lounge so the second morning we had to have breakfast in the restaurant, which was really nice. I am disappointed we missed out on evening snacks in the lounge due to travel and concert timings, but it was nice to pop in there for drinks. I love the fact we could order more towels, bedding, and bathroom supplies in advance on the app to ensure we had everything we need for the stay. Because we had a suite we were surprised to have two TVs (one in the bedroom and one in the living room... but oddly only one remote.

From the beginning of our stay all staff members were professional and really kind to us. The hotel has high cleanliness standards and we felt really safe there. The breakfast was incredible and the service received from Ana in F&B was excellent. We can’t wait to visit again. Thank you all for making of our stay a brilliant one!

Absolutely great stay. All staff and facilities were 5*. Wish the gym was open but everything was great and comfortable. ALL staff were helpful and friendly and would like to say especially Sherry Ann. Perfect location although finding how to access the hotel via car was a bit difficult as it was unclear with the road signs if cars could access the road.

Excellent welcome - Receptionist was charming. Room clean and adequate although mattress a bit firm for my liking! Hotel well positioned in Cardiff for shopping and exploring. Had to pay for parking but think that is the norm unfortunately. Didn't eat here so no comment on food. Happy to recommend.

Had a pleasant experience here as the marriot, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The main reception/entrance hall looked amazing very modern and shiny but I thought when going out onto the floor of our room it's seemed a little dated and so did the room. The main cleanliness of the room was on point and the TV was great but was a little disappointed with the condition of the room for example in the bathroom there was brown stains running from the ceiling where people have had showers etc, and presume it was a smoking room in the past. The location of the hotel is perfect you are in reach of pretty much anything you want to visit

This is ideally situated for the motorpoint arena & also for exploring Cardiff city. The staff were very friendly especially at check in, this is always a good sign. The room was spotless & the bed was very comfortable. Plenty of selection of food & drink. All in all a great experience. Thank you!

I was in Cardiff for a project that had me staying at the Cardiff Marriott for two months. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. When you’re 5000 miles from home, it’s a great feeling to have a hotel go above and beyond to take care of you. Everyone from the front desk team to the staff at Browns restaurant was truly the best. I can not recommend this hotel enough and I will most assuredly be back.

A fantastic place to stay in the centre of Cardiff with easy walking distance to many places of intrest. The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. The concierge was a great guy who talked us into the parking area which is a difficult place to get to if your new to the area. We cannot fault this hotel in anyway.

  • 2/5 Andy W. 1 year ago on Google
Nice hotel, but COLD! The room thermostat was at max but the duvet was thin with no other blanket available. I had to wear my clothes in bed to get warm enough to sleep. The bed linen wasn't clean either. Then there was £18 to park. I stayed 2 Nights so that was an unacceptable £36.

Fabulous, fantastic, friendly, wish i could find more words to describe the staff. Lovely hotel very clean and excellent location for the town. (Only complaint no pool which is advertised on web page and with pictures.)

  • 4/5 Frances B. 1 year ago on Google
Stayed here 1 night for a concert at the principality stadium, great location for everything in the centre, it was only about 5-10 minute walk to the stadium and right on the doorstep of many restaurants, bars and shops. The downside of this was it was quite noisy till late outside, we were on the 6th floor and could still hear it. Not sure if the price was higher because of the concert but it was very expensive. The hotel was good and the rooms also good but for £320 per night I would have expected more luxury. Also the car park was £18 for the night. I would stay here again but not at that price.

Spacious and will organized modern rooms with large and comfy beds. Staff is amazing. Some parts of the hotel need a refurbishment, during my stay (late Dec 2022) constructions were in progress in the lobby, didn’t cause any inconvenience. The location is very convenient, close to everything you need. Definitely would stay again! 💙

love this hotel. Perfect location, basically next to the Cardiff central station. Short walking distance to the castle and high street. All the facilities are quite new, lovely decorations.

We had a night over at the Marriott. Staff very friendly & helpful. One particular lady from out the kitchen was very keen to help with a fussy eater and a young lady on reception was very helpful on our arrival with getting out & about information. Room was clean. Bathroom needs a make over due to rust. Overall a great stay and breakfast was delicious. Bar/restaurants impressive decor.
