Nice evening out to dine at this restaurant along the Tennessee River. Didn't have to wait long for a table, and plenty of parking available. Food was good, as was the service. Several appetizer items were overpriced for what was served (feta cheese dip as an example). Main entree serving sizes were ample, but the restaurant could do better with the timing the of the entrees, and not serve them until after the guests have enjoyed/finished the appetizers. Best part of the meal was dessert...we all tried something different, and each dessert was delicious. The apple pecan bread pudding with bourbon sauce is amazing!

We had a great dining experience! Had the Salmon which was recommended by my server! I absolutely loved the taste! Very delicious My party also had the Tuna plate and the Salmon salad. We had 5 orders of oysters πŸ¦ͺ ALL very fresh! Didn’t even need hot sauce or salt! They have 2 kinds of raw oysters to select from but our server recommended these. At this point he could sale me anything! We finished with some great desserts as well! Everything was outstanding! Including our server! Pictures of drinks also included πŸ˜‰

It was ok. Shrimp was pretty good. And the server made me some kind of mixed drink that was delicious. I ended up ordering two of them. The brownie was ice cream was only ok because there was a weird sweetness that I can't explain. It almost tastes like a sugar substitute was used in it but my husband enjoyed it.

Went on a Saturday night and they were packed with 1 to 1.5 hour wait time. We decided to wait and glad we did. We walked along the paved path along the riverfront then sat at the bar and ordered the cajun shrimp appetizer and some drinks while we waited. Shrimp was delicious and fresh. We enjoyed sitting on the outdoor deck overlooking the riverfront. Food was great and server, bartender, and both hostesses were friendly. Would recommend if visiting Chattanooga.

Great food and great service! Very busy but we did not have to wait long. Food was hot & fresh and drinks were always full. The okra is fabulous! Can’t go wrong with anything you order here.

Excellent food and service. Acceptable wait times and you can have cocktails at out door tables next to the river. We sat in outside seating on deck for dinner, with a great river view. Reasonably priced even with cocktails. Went back second time on a5 day stay. Highly recommend.

1st time and WOW, it was really good! Beginning to end. Our waitress, Karen was a delight! Thank you! Looking forward to coming back. My only recommendation would be bring the salad BEFORE the meal, not with the meal. The meal gets cold while trying to enjoy the salad.

This place was great and everyone was nice. I sat outside on the heated deck that the hostess suggested and it was very lovely. I had a very nice dinner with my son and his girlfriend. The service was great and it was very clean. The Chesapeake Bay oysters on a half shell was delicious and very well priced. I'm so glad my son took us to eat here. I will be back. So many choices not to.

I ordered ahead, the older gentleman was very polite that answered the phone! And had a sense of Humor! Even better! Nothing better than when you call a place and your β€œgreeted β€œ with a β€œsmile β€œ so that was nice’! I have never been before, i was picking up for one of my friends, she said they have some of the best food! I thought , a little bit on the pricey side but when I seen what all was in her bag it was a good deal! Wow! And smelled great! I’m not about the sea food life but it did smell good! When I got her the food she said that it was amazing! Tasted as great as it smelled! So thank you!! The staff was great as well when I had walked it! The view was beautiful as well! Not at all what I had expected! I took a picture as I was leaving and told my Husband that I would like him to take me over there ( he loves sea 🍱 food, not myself πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ™ƒ ) but something he would love the food and I would love the view and the walk by the water! Worth every bit to check this place out! The inside is so far from what I had expected it to look like! Absolutely Beautiful! Thank you again for a great experience in your restaurant!! We will be back when it gets warmer!

Lovely view! Delicious food! Fantastic service! The Boathouse exceeded all of my expectations from the reviews and YouTube videos, that I saw. We had the catfish dinner and the fried Oysters dinner. Both of the dishes were both tasty and fresh. There was wait to sit outside today, and we were short on time. So alas, we sat inside. This restaurant is 134 miles from my home and I am already looking for an excuse to head back to Chattanooga!

An attractive venue, but we gave it 4** because the noise level is high. In fact, we noticed people at another table requesting to move. 5* Service is very good and the waitstaff is attentive. 5* Food is well prepared and delicious. My grilled trout was super yummy πŸ˜‹ We enjoyed our visit.

I rate this 4 stars because of their facility, location and service. The food could have been better prepared (salmon burger) and a full bar. We had fried clams, chicken strip and salmon burger. The salmon was dry and it should have been fully loaded. The bar does not have frozen drinks or make margaritas etc. We also had chips (fresh made) with cheese dip, keylime pie (very good) and ice cream sundae. Our server was outstanding and offered many suggestions.

We went to this restaurant as a group, around 10 people. Most food is delicious and yummy. Especially the chef seemed to be making an effort to ensure that the food we ordered came out at about the same time. All staff are kind and nice. They have beautiful views. We had a great time there. πŸ˜„πŸ˜Š

Really good meal. Rashawn was our server and did well. Only disappointment was our entrees came to the table and we were not half way done with the appetizers. Get the grilled squid appetizer it's fantastic. We sat inside on the window with a great view. Yes we had about a 40 minute wait but it was Father's Day and the place was packed. Really liked this place even with the bad timing.

So amazingly good. The woodfire approach adds delicious flavor to many of their dishes and the multitude of perfectly balanced flavors are powerful. It's fun to eat here and try to figure out the ingredients as you are experiencing a mouthgasm every time you take a bite. Also...they have Po Boys. Yep

This place was absolutely outstanding! My husband and I were on a work trip, and as parents of 7, we decided to use the trip as a little vacation for two as well. Boathouse was recommended by several people and the entire experience from the view to the meal was better than described or even imagined. We ordered two small plates and two entrees and ate it ALL, which has never happened! Next time we will definitely wait to sit outside, but even where we sat, which was the farthest wall from the windows, the view was just beautiful. We don’t have much reason to go to Chattanooga, but we’re going to come up with one, even if it’s JUST to experience Boathouse again!

We went on a Saturday right when they opened for lunch and got our preferred seating outside on the patio. The view by the river was great. We started with The Lawton' Rita which was really refreshing and did not overtly taste strong. The Wood Grilled Squid was absolutely phenomenal. 10/10 would get again. The squid was soft and fresh, with an aromatic wood-fire taste. We followed with the Trout Almondine and Fish Tacos. The Trout Almondine was buttery soft with a slightly crisp exterior. The toasted almonds added a nice bite and the side of wood-grilled green beans really complimented the dish. The Fish Tacos plate was a light meal and was also delicious. Don't let the tacos sit too long like we did or else the tortilla will disintegrate / get soggy. Service was fantastic and welcoming. Randy was great.

Great location. Service was good and food was delicious. Seafood choices, BBQ, Burgers and Salads. House specialities are oyster bar and trout. Great view but if you’re sneaky skip the wait line and sit at the oyster bar. We had a great time.

If you're looking for a truly unforgettable dining experience, look no further than the Boathouse Rotisserie & Raw Bar. From the moment you step inside, you'll be swept away by the stunning views of the water and the romantic atmosphere that's perfect for a night out with your significant other. But the real star of the show here is the food. Starting with the raw oysters, they were some of the freshest I've ever tasted - there was no hint of ocean taste or smell, just pure, delicious oyster flavor. And the classic grilled oysters with garlic butter were simply divine - the buttery garlic flavor perfectly complemented the oysters. But the grilled octopus was a real standout for me. It was cooked to perfection - tender and juicy, with a delicious flavor that paired perfectly with the accompanying feta and arugula. Moving on to the entrees, the Ahi Tuna was an absolute delight. The glaze was sweet and tangy, with just the right amount of whipped wasabi sauce, and the green beans were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The trout was also outstanding - flaky and moist, with a delicate flavor that was enhanced by the simple yet flavorful seasoning. And of course, no meal at the Boathouse would be complete without a visit to the full bar, which connects the restaurant and the boat. The cocktails were expertly crafted and absolutely delicious, and the selection of beer and wine was impressive as well. All in all, the Boathouse Rotisserie & Raw Bar is a true gem in downtown Chattanooga. The food, the atmosphere, and the service all come together to create an unforgettable dining experience that's not to be missed. I highly recommend it!

Wonderful place to eat! The view on the water is amazing, especially the sunset. Service was fast and very friendly. We had the house salad and the chicken wings. Very reasonable prices as well.

We ordered a bunch of appetizers and entrees. Overall quality and flavor was good. Would recommend the grilled oysters, shrimp poboy, fish tacos and barbecue shrimp as their highlights. Grilled squid, voodoo chicken were our mistake to order - both lacked flavor and any semblance of value for money. Brownie with ice cream at the end was standard. I felt that our server (Manuel) didn’t seem too hospitable at the start of our meal but maybe things changed towards the end when he realized we had a significant numbers of items ordered.

The place smells so good when you first walk in. I wanted to eat everything. Then we get to the table and it was just weird. My husband ordered an Arnold Palmer as soon as we got a waiter. The guy comes back to the table asks if we want an appetizer we got HOT LEGSs, 10 mins later they bring the HOT LEGs but no drink (just the water already at the table). As another waiter comes we order a Hemingway and the pink drink I forgot the name of it. The waiter finally brings my husband's Arnold Palmer. The taste of the food was not what I expected. It smelled so good but lacked actual seasoning it looked like the fish had seasoning but I ended up putting salt and pepper on the fish and just ended up taking it home (I will never send food back to the kitchen) that chicken sandwich was not good either it was just chicken with some melted cheese on top the outside had flavor but the inside was too large and held no taste. This was our 1st and probably last time here. I don't want a refund I don't want an apology JUST DO BETTER MOVING FORWARD πŸ™ƒ

Taylor was exceptional, and made the experience even better! We started with the green beans and onion rings - both superb. She recommended the brisket nachos and they were delicious. The food was amazing, and the view of the river was great! What a beautiful evening! Thank you!

Now I understand why it’s so hyped up! The place has a really good view plus the service was outstanding. I didn’t realized I’ll love the black bean rice (very hesitant at first) Calamari tasted so fresh. Chicken rotisserie though is just ok,maybe my expectations was just really high. I also love the fish tacos (must try!!!)

We had a 30 minute wait but it was worth it. The building was accessible with plenty of parking. We were seated in the outdoor area but it was well heated and the view of the river was amazing. Rachel, our waitress, was amazing and helped us with the menu. We had grilled calamari thanks to the waitress and it was awesome. My wife had the rotisserie chicken and I had the voodoo chicken. Would eat both again.

Beautiful view of the river and a great place to stop if you're walking or riding the Tennessee Riverwalk. The smoked brisket nachos are fantastic. Great smoke flavor and the roasted salsa was a wonderful touch. Caught the Head of the Hooch Regatta over the weekend.

This was a delightful last minute stop, and as a result, we'll be back to spend a week here. I had the yummy fish tacos, Joe had rotisserie chicken, the views were astounding. Best fish tacos ever, gluten free! Even our emotional support Coco dog was welcome.

Me and my wife used to eat when it was a very small place with little wooden tables by the river the food always was very good ...today is a nice place and with fantastic view of the river and the inside is beautiful and the food still so good. We love this place.

Chesapeake bay oysters, fried mushrooms, and calamari were fantastic appetizers! We all loved them! The alondine trout is HUGE and so yummy. The catfish is the best I have ever had and I’ve had a lot of fresh catfish before but this was so juicy and flavorful! The voodoo chicken is also amazing and very juicy! Absolute great restaurant overall

Every bit of food is delicious! My picky 5 yo loved the rotisserie chicken, which is a huge compliment. By 17 yo loved the brisket sandwich and my husband said his brisket was the best he ever had. The California salad was delicious with a flavourful yet light dressing. All the sauces and dressing are homemade and delicious. Even on a Monday there was a wait to get in and it was WORTH IT! The inside is decorated with beautiful wooden row boats including one from The Dead Poet Society. The view of the river is beautiful (see picture). Oh, the staff is friendly.

Always super good and superb service by one of my favorite independently owned and operated restaurants ... Reservations are not available, but folks do not seem to mind the wait...it's that great! Go early...before five PM for dinner... and you may be able to walk right in. lung is popular as well. Seating is available on the riverbank adjacent to parking, a spacious deck, inside at the bar, or general seating area. Covid guidelines are strictly followed. This is one eating out experience that I fully trust - largely due to the conscientious and capable management team. The owners are simply the best and very hands on.

Made reservations a week ahead of time for Saturday for our Valentines date night. Called to confirm just a few hours prior to our arrival and were told they got the date wrong and then was told there was nothing they could do even though it was their mess up, and that we were just SOL. We had already gotten ready, had a babysitter for our 3 kids.... every where else was completely booked and there was no way we could do anything tomorrow so they completely ruined our Valentines!!!!

Really tasty and fresh food just made for us even tho it was too busy, didnt made us feel any less. Cutlery napkin could be much bigger for a restaurant like this which has high customer retention. Otherwise everything was great!

We waited for about 30 minutes at 6 on a Monday. We came for the half-price oysters and by the time we got there, they only had Chesapeake Bay ones left. They were still delicious! We also ordered the Garlic & Feta "dip". I was confused as first because it appeared more like a seasoned olive oil than a dip, but after a few bites, ai embraced it and would drive back to Chattanooga just for it. It was so good! My daughter had the olive fries for dinner and they were delish also! The calamari was nothing special.

  • 5/5 Curtis M. 3 years ago on Google
I had the Trout Almondine. It was amazing. My GF had the Lotta Lotta Garlic Chicken which was also great. Wonderful View. We are here from Panama City Beach Fl and will make a trip here again soon. Look forward to another Entree next time!

It was my first visit. I wasn't aware of the use of peanut oil in the kitchen (deathly allergic to all nuts). There was no foot notes on the menu or signs posted. They stressed that it's refined peanut oil but I wasn't taking any chances. I got a chicken salad and I wasn't impressed with the presentation. I had 1/3 of a red onion in my salad. The rosemary ranch was different but over all this place is not for me.

The food was good I can say thet but it was really overpriced for the amount of food you get. Like the appetizer $15 for 6 bites of oven cooked oyster with little cheese very disappointed. The main course item very small portion but gave a mountain of Luke warm fries to fill the plates and ive had better fries from burger king. The wife and I will find another place to try next time. $80 for 2 and we would have left hungry if we didn't force our self to eat most of the fries
