Here in Fortis, every member of the Nephrology team travelled with me to recover me from Renal failure to Transplant. Today by the grace of Dr C.M.T, I have a great life. Very bad hospital in Chennai they provide poor customer service. This hospital is having scarcity of printer ink and paper that's why this people are not providing hardcopy print out of blood report to patients.They will only provide blood test hard copy report unless the patient asked . While paying this much money for blood test they are not providing hardcopy or soft copy of report. Most of the prominent hospitals having good standard will provide hardcopy or soft copy report to patients with out asking

Highly unorganized place. Went there for regular annual check-up reached at 9am, entire procdure was very slow and you have to wait long in front of each lab, sometimes even when lab is free. No on is there to assist you or maintain the order. It took more than 4 and half hours to finish entire process. Things went highly chaotic when a guy came before everyone for health checkup made to wait extra one hour as they informed him to have breakfast after he finished all his test at 12.30pm.. making him wait for another hour for post spandial blood samples. That man went berserk, he was a diabetic patient. Normally health checkup reports you will get in 2-3 days max, here they make you wait for 1 week minimum citing long wait list that too during 11-1 pm on week days, weekends they don't entertain as you already paid them money. When you go to collect report again you have to face same scenario 1hour to get report in you hand and another 1-2 hours waiting for to meet a junior consultant doctor. Then he will forcibly recommend you to specialist for some referral bonus and the story continues... Request you to avoid this hospital atleast for health checkups especially if it's urgent and you value your time.

Best Doctors, Helpful staffs in All Departments & easy access to different parts of the hospital. Parking was easy. All positives but one drawback was the canteen service. The Canteen needs more cleanliness & also need to have a decent range of food & bevarages for patients & attenders.

Overall experience was good with good facilities and support from the nursing staffs. Medical insurance was little chaotic along with admission. The Doctors and nurses were very helpful. Mr. Muthuselvan helped us a lot with insurance and coordination. Wanted to thank all for their support and help.

Not Professional. 1) I had 2 masks with me, cloth mask and N95 mask. But security asked me to buy a new surgical mask for Rs 5/-. A new way of extracting money from patients. Imagine 2000 patients/visitors visits in a day. Totally 10k earning without any efforts. 2) The staffs are useless. Asked me to go here and there without guiding. How do patients know the hospital routes? 3) I visited the doctor only coz he was 21 years Experienced with good feedback in practo. But the doctor examined me for 1.23 mins and wrote some medicine without even telling me what problems i have.

I am a kidney transplant warrior(had my transplant from kerala in 2020 dec) and got admitted in this hospital for vomiting and diarrhea in 2021 dec at night. As per their hospital policy until receiving corona test result patient should stay alone in room and by-standers are not allowed. Immunosuppressent im taking wont be available in chennai so my wife gave my regular medicines and their details to nurse and she sat near EW for the whole night. Morning she came and asked nurse to check the before food medicines, at that time she came to know that after food tablet was given to me instead of before food tablet. If she didnt notice this then nurse who is coming next would gave same tablet again(as per their notes that has correct info) which ended up in missing one Immunosuppressent tablet for the day and it would result in rejection of my transplant kidney. When my wife asked permission for staying with me they shouted at my wife and finally she took corona test and got permission for staying in the room. Hospital is not providing enough training to nurse, but doctors are doing good job. If you are getting admitted in this hospital plz be aware of medicines that nurses are providing and make sure u r taking correct medicines on time. And they have alarm near patient bed to call nurse for any emergency but it was not working properly. Dont blindly follow nurses words.

We are visiting Chennai from the UK. Unfortunately my wife got unwell and we had to attend this hospital. We had an awful experience from the start. Hospital is very dirty and the care was even worse. Doctors were just keen on ordering unnecessary tests and delaying treatment.the doctors didn’t even examine my wife We had to self discharge my wife due to the above obvious reasons. The hospital is more keen on getting money from you. Since I am a doctor I could question the doctors about the unnecessary tests. Just be firm and question every tests that they request . The doctors we came across were clinically poor and lacking basic bedside manners.

One of the worst hospitals. They charge heavily and don't provide proper services. Rooms are not maintained properly and there is no ventilation. 1)Its an old building and AC is not working properly. In the room that was given to us water was dripping from the ceiling. 2)The floor is wet all time and does not dry. 3)MRI is charged more than actual fee. They have partnership with Medal Diagnostics. At hospital, they asked 25000 for MRI spine scan. When asked at the diagnostic center they said they charge 15000 for the same. After talking to the management, they reduced the price of MRI since they realized we got to know actual price.They are money launderers. And they have just put up the name of Fortis without any proper facilities which Fortis Hospitals in Bangalore actually give.

Doctors and staffs are excellent and professional. Truly world class medical facilities. There is a space constraint and tightly packed. Also need to improve on infrastructure.

Not Recommended for Gynaecology (Dr.Nithya).. just look at their Normal: c- section ratio. Moreover they have more fear towards normal delivery . Not sure if money minded. My mother got added to emergency care due to heart pain, and the care taken pre and post surgery was really good. We took private rooms and they were in good condition and daily housekeeping was done. Doctors, nursing staff, attenders were really friendly and helpful. I was all alone and the care hospital staff and doctors took of my mother was really good. Food given to patients was also of good quality and quantity

I am narrating a bitter experience we had at Fortis Malar hospitals, Chennai. On 14th February, we had an emergency situation at home with my close relative and we went and the duty doctor and his team, after consultations with our Doctor treated the patient satisfactorily. During our waiting outside the room, we had to suffer mosquito menace.Also, as written outside, about valet parking, for senior citizens, ,when we demanded it, we couldn’t get one.All of us were in the age group of 68 to 75. Later, when I wanted to book an appointment with our Doctor, I failed miserably despite having their app on my latest I phone and tried on line booking, used their chat facility and finally called their contact numbers, none of it worked. Finally I had to call the Doctor personally and sorted it out. I appreciate Dr Anantha Padmanabhan, our consultant for more than 25 years,who was very comforting and always available despite his busy schedule. This is the same old story, even in our pervious visit.Also the pharmacists are very slow in giving us the medicines. The receptionists are apathetic and unresponsive.

We came to malar hospital for my mother treatment. We met Dr.Babu . He is a very good doctor and he explained my mother condition very well. Nurses also taking care of my mother with good manner and full love. Thank you so much .

I visited the hospital recently. In the reception, we were asked to buy a new mask eventhough we were having good mask. They didn't provide hand sanitizer. There was lot of people waiting in the hall in the first floor and no staff bothered about advising people to follow physical distancing and covid norms. The patients were Not provided disposable paper sheet on the examination table for doctor to examine the patients.

Worst hospital. I admitted my grandfather who was having slight fever and cold. He was there in the hospital for around one week. When he got discharged his cold even got worsened that he was not even able to breath. They gave him around 25 pills to be taken each day. But there was not even a single effect of improvement on his health. The ambience of the hospital is very worse and even GH has some good rooms and hallway.

Very poorly managed. Came for vaccination by booking for a paid vaccination appointment thinking of less crowd and that it's a private hospital and would be well managed. Would never suggest for vaccination even if you are looking for paid and even registering through cowin for appointment. There is crowd here and no control and directions. Please go to your nearest public health center. They should be much better.

Worst service ever 1. When I called for appointment they asked me to come... but when I went there they said you don't have an appointment so you'll have to wait. 2. They said the maximum wait time was an hour... but my turn didn't come till next three hours 3. They asked me to wait in the registration area... and later told me you should have been sitting near the doctors room 4. When I said that I wanted to register a complaint and leave then they were immediately ready to take me to the doctor... However I couldn't wait any longer to see the doctor(another person was consulting) as I had left my baby at home and needed to go urgently Other honorable mentions: 1. They couldn't find my UHID 2. Thyroid test (T3, T4, TSH) which costs around 500 to 600 in medall and apollo costs around 1500 at Fortis malar (SRL Diagnostics) 3. Mask (other than cloth) is mandatory for patients but the staff will only cover their mouth or chin 4. No proper social distancing followed.

Two months back i visited this hospital.They are giving priority on patients.I I rated earlier this hospital as 5 star during my first visit.Doctors like anand ortho are good .Even Nithya mam(Gynaecologist) took time for my medical issue during my first visit. if you are here for issues like ovary cyst ,gynaecological (non surgical related)they will ignore,unless if they have no other patients waiting*****Now i realised later, that you cannot judge hospital with one visit****. .******i realised they have priority on patients On (6 th of november 2021 ) i visited hospital around 12:05 pm 1.I called the hospital if i can meet Nithya mam today and they said i can 2.The receptionist told me i have to wait 2 hrs which i agreed,after 2 days of holiday i understand patients will be there. 3. After 2 hrs of waiting i asked how many patients are there,they said" my name is not there".Iam pretty sure receptionist wrote my name .(I saw when she wrote)******.Nithya mam team ignored me.I showed my fees payment made for nithya mam . It has the time details of payment ie at 12:05 pm. 4.*****After 3 hrs ****they said 15 patients are there,i was waiting there all time ,avoiding lunch or restroom.i know all the patients who waited before me are not there(even in hallway). they allowed all the patients who came later and almost most of them are "NOT AT ALL emergency patients " ,making me to wait.This team give preference to certain patients(Is it per doctor advice or not iam not sure).so if you are here for issues like ovary cyst ,gynaecological (non surgical related)they will ignore,unless if they have no other patients waiting.They did not spare me atleast 10 mins considering my waiting time. 5."""AFTER AROUND 4 HOURS OF WAITING AROUND 4:00 PM"""" i asked and got my refund back(I know they will not call me,newly arrived patients will be called) ,i got irritated when reception told that iam not ready to wait(4 hrs is it not a good waiting time?).Doctors time are precious ,but please consider normal people waiting time as well.After travelling little far and spending money in cab and waiting fr 4 hrs ,i have to return disappointed.

My family had worst experience during our first visit on Master health check up. We had appointment at 9AM and they made all of us including a 4 year old kid starving till 2.30PM. Pathetic management and they made us wait hungry all the day. I have been to other hospitals for master health check and it usually gets over in around 3 hours. Here it takes more than 8 hours and that too you have to be with empty stomach. I will not go to this hospital again ever!!! Absolutely 0 stars!!! Update: I was reached out by the hospital management and apologised for what had happened and promised that it will not happen to anyone going forward. It’s good for everyone If they keep up their promise going forward!!!

Treatment is OK. but very costly. Even no chairs available for visitors. in their side area ..kadappa stone bench only there to sit. Side area ambience is to be renovated immediately. As a 8 star google guide ..asked the receptionist to give the available treatment details..in a brochure. They gave only the Lab test comprehensive checkup details only. Suitable for rich people to get treatment in a Royal way. Otherwise OK.

Treatment is good, doctors are good one basic thing as an hospital you lack is hygienic washrooms. It’s so pathetic and disgusting. Came for medical test could not even give sample. This would cause more infection. Please preserve hygiene being an reputed hospital and responsible profession be aware of these factors

Their preventive health checkups and tests are fine, but the consultations they claim to provide based on the test results are a total disappointment. They claim cardiologist will consult based on test reports, but only a general medicine doctor was provided for consultation who does not have the expertise for explaining the multiple tests taken. I could have taken these tests at any of the labs instead of visiting a hospital.

Hospital is really good. Doctors and staff are good. But this SRL some blood test unit and their employees are not so friendly. When you call them to ask about the status of your report they reply " you will get it when you get it ". Come on man. Grow up when you are in customer service else quit.

Had an great experience with Dr. Nithya mam for my cyst laproscopy surgery. Mam handled me with very positive way and their services also good. I recommend Dr.Nithya mam as best gynecologist in the city. Ward nurses also taken care me in friendly manner. Insurance team should provide frequent updates to patient on progress We went for cashless , they submitted with wrong DoA and it got declined , then again re-submitted with correct DoA and it got approved in 10 minutes by 03:30 PM. But we waited till 08:00PM and we got help from Insurance provider and they confirmed it got approved by 03:30 PM and they sent needed docs in 10 minutes Insurance team in hospital should be more aware of replies and updates

I had a very bad experience with the hospital. I went for a neck pain and was asked to take X-ray followed by blood test by doctor Nandakumar assistant.They informed me doctor is out for emergency and he will come and address the issue and X-ray. After my X-ray was done, they asked me to take blood test which costed 8000 rs and asked me to come and meet dr.Nandakumar in his clinic with a 11am appointment by giving his clinic visiting card by his PA. I told the receptionist, I can’t do blood test now and why blood test is required for neck pain and told about the appointment by dr.Nandakumar. And told her why my X-ray feedback was not given. They somehow arranged and again doctor assistant said the X-ray seem to be fine. When I questioned on blood test, they said ok no need to take blood test and the prescription given before was taken by Nandakumar assistant. Later in pharmacy they didn’t provide the required pharmacy bill. Again contacted the hospital and got it. The prescription given was not clear and the prescription had no doctor seal or doctor sign and doctor registration number too. Wondering such a big hospital with no ethics and professionalism . Wondering if the doctors working there are real and registered doctors..

I got admitted in to Fortis Malar Hospital for a TURIS surgery on 3rd November 2023. The surgery and post-surgery care were very professional and all the staff , nurse and attendants took very good care and were extremely helpful. My special thanks to Dr. Pari and Dr. Shinu Abdul Rasheed and the operation theatre staff for a painless surgery. The hospital diet provided to me could have been more nutritious . However, the cashless insurance settlement procedure,was the only bad experience. Quick response to and from the TPA could have speeded up the discharge process. As a patient I had to personally follow up and coordinate with the TPA, Hospital and Insurance Company for approval. Each time I called up the TPA, I was told that the Insurance Desk at the hospital were slow in sending replies to their queries raised and hence the delay in approval. We were expecting to be discharged by 12 noon but the bill was ready only by 12.30 pm. The approval too was passed on from my personal mail to the insurance desk after they replied that the final approval has not yet been received from the TPA. We finally left the hospital around 7.45 pm, much tired waiting endlessly . This really tested our resilience and patience. I hope the hospital management takes steps to improve the cashless settlement procedure so that we get discharged without much delay and hassel. Thank you.

Poor patient canteen services. No proper meals and nutrition provided to the patient. The housekeeping services needs improvement. All patients gowns needs repair. Velcro needs to be changed for all gowns and strings needs to be repaired. When hospital is charging so much all this needs to be taken care. We went for Ortho surgery with Dr. ANAND. His entire team is good. Very humble with patients and their family. Explained everything in detail. Highly recommended. Dr Vijayan is a good physician. Overall recommended however patient care and House keeping needs improvement

The doctor whom I meet is very efficient and successful in treating the patients, had been admitted for various ailments, had recovered, but the nurses on the other hand have become bad to worse. they are careless and give a damn about the well being of the patient, they would just rip the plaster off your hand to which the drip has been attached and even worse is they don't know how to connect the drip to your hand, it would come off and pain as hell when the plastic needle would hurt, I could hear patients who are old pulling off the drip because of the pain, I raised the complaint with the senior nurse. to my horror even she didn't know either. I wanted to just recover and get out of the hospital. my hands were sore and painful for a long time. earlier too they were bad but not this bad. not sure if its because of the drip needle which is plastic and sharp or their inefficiency.

I Murthy undergone Renal Transplant surgery under the guidance of Dr.C..M.Thiyagarajan, Dr.Diwakar, Dr.Salim Thomas, Dr.Srinivasa. Prasad with the assistance of staff of the transplant surgery. The surgery went on well and the follow up was also very good. I am now doing well. The team of Doctor's gave me a second life. The entire operation was done by Dr.C.M.Thiyagarajan who is the architect of the operation. Dr.Salim Thomas did the surgery is an excellent with super coordination. Mr.satish and Mr.Dhanraj coordinator is a unique character , whenever any patient has got assigned of the surgery, he only motivated and made us to complete the surgeon. I must thank him similarly Mr.Balaji another coordinator is excellent . The service of the transplant from ICU is appreciable. Dialysis team is also good .Nandakumar, and Karthik, are pillar of the Dialysis team and other staff Mani, Shankar, Alice, Tanya, Jennifer are Excellent. Excellent hospital with the best doctors, patient care services.

Initially when Fortis took over Malar I assumed that it would be maintained very well, but to my disappointment nothing has changed. I went in for an ultrasound today and that room was such straight out of a HORROR MOVIE ! They didn’t even bother to change the sheet after the previous patient left, they gave me paper (not tissue) to wipe the gel off my stomach and gave me a used robe to cover myself during the scan. All the “papers” that were used to wipe stomachs and other private parts where thrown right next to the bed on the floor. Oh god! I don’t recommend fortis Malar At all!!! The most unhygienic hospital.

Went to Malar hospital for enquiring about CRRI ( internship) . Receptionist directed me to Medical Superintendent office which is present in basement of the hospital. On arriving MS told me that the hospital no longer allows internship as per Medical council of India. Staffs were attentive and helpful.

Had bypass surgery for my uncle here. DR.MadhuSankar sir is extraordinary, it was a critical case for my uncle with multiple major block & he was highly diabetic with weak renal functionality. Doc was supportive and staright forward - no unwanted procedure etc. Gave confidence to patient . 1 month after surgery my uncle has recovered fully with zero compilations. Kudos to Madhu sir & team.

My husband had a complex surgery at Fortis Malar, Adyar. I would like to put in a special mention for Dr Anand & his team for the effort & care given to my husband. Under gone bilateral total knee replacement surgery done by Dr. Vivek AN on 11th September 2021 at Fortis Malar hospital. All the doctors, nurses and attenders took care of me very well during my 8 days stay at hospital. My sincere thanks to Dr. Vivek for making me walk and climbing stairs from 4th day. Very good place and quality service. I had both my son born her. Dr.Nithya mam is wonderful human and she gave us more comfort. I had Viral Penmonia and went to Dr. Rajkumar Pulmonologist But the hospital is making a mountain out of a Mole the Dr. does nothing but pump in more antibiotics for a Simple fact he recommended me to a Person who charges me 7000 for a single test to gain his commission when the same test costs within 1000 at other Places. The hospital should disallow the Doctor from Practice at their centre. He is a disgrace to the hipocratic oath taken by him. Please don't go for consultation with this Doctor.

Good hospital and doctors are very professional spend time to hear us completely. But don't ever take blood test related its very costly. Srl lab is doing the test in hospital, you can do the same test very less amount in outside SRL lab and even home collection is available. For example stool test in hospital srl lab was 5400, same in outside srl lab is 3200 only.

I would never recommend this hospital for anyone. I visited the hospital for my wife’s pregnancy. There are absolutely zero maintenance inside the hospital. They will never clean the Bathroom and you will surely get a disease if you use it. In normal ward, there was a n no of mosquitos and no one cared even if we complain. People here are completely money minded

I am used to Fortis Malar for over a decade where my wife & I had several treatments under Dr V. JINADAS, whose knowledge, practice, & reputation well known acknowledged. However, their nursing support leaves room for improvement, as I find some slackening and going south. As example, my wife (Mrs Rajalakshmi in # 1703 right now 7/2/2022, for CHF reasons) - was administered insulin doses without checking her dietary intake and sugar level, sending her into critical hypoglycemia condition: worrying sign of dangerous lack of work ethics. Must be corrected before hospital reputation gets affected. t

We consulted Dr. Nithya for my grandmother's uterus problem. She Immediately diagnosed her issue and suggested for the surgery ( uterus removal along with anterior colporrphaphy and rectocele repair and pelvic floor repair). We initially worried about the procedure because of her age factor and health conditions but Nithya mam gave us the confidence and then surgery went well. Later she got discharged in four days and now she is recovering at a good rate. Thanks to Dr. Nithya. she was our family consultant for very long period. I highly recommend this hospital. I recently had a minor surgery at this hospital, must say it was an excellent experience. All doctors and nurses were so polite and caring towards the patient. Ward boys were so helpful from the beginning to the last till discharge. Hospital is neat and well organised. They clean the rooms on daily basis two times every day. Insurance team executive explained the packages and other details clearly and no hassle in insurance formalities.

WORST SERVICE. MONEY MINDED MANAGEMENT. I just got out from the hospital as a frustrated patient. Please dont visit this hospital if you want to have a peace of mind while getting cured. I was asked to get admitted for a minimum of 10 days which I refused. I got cured in just 2 days without getting admitted. NEVER EVER VISIT THIS PLACE TO GET TREATMENT. I guess most of the good reviews here are fake. I got conned by looking at the good reviews. Please do not make that mistake.

We had a consultation with Dr. Nithya Ramamurthy for my Wife abdomen discomfort and bleeding. Dr.listen and understand patient past medical conditions , explained the problem with friendly manner and treated effectively.

This hospital has one of the most illiterate mannerless staff, who doesn’t value patients time and Energy. For my dilation I booked appointment, called and check, have to show up in cab because i cant drive post that and then have to take leave in office, and go and they say with no regrets that doctor didn’t come. And when u ask can’t u inform they just blink. And its not the first time happening also, wish some of these doctors have private hospitals

Called emergency at night first and then took a cab to the hospital. For a person walking on their own to the hospital with splitting shoulder, arm and back pain, was made to wait outside the emergency ward for 20 minutes. Staff were hopelessly careless, inhuman and unmindful. On enquiring thrice was told that they were trying to find and get a bed ready. For what!? Shoulder, arm and back pain! Terrible and absolutely aghast by the experience for emergency. Returned home having waited for 25 minutes with no response whatsoever let alone consultation. Should be sued and have their license cancelled. Fortis brand is going to the dogs!

The staff are courteous, with a few exceptions. The hospital is clean but very much showing its age. Ultimately the low rating is because the doctor simply didn’t turn up for my scheduled appointment, and no one could give me a time by when he might arrive. While I realize, of course, that doctors are busy people, I see no point in having a limited slot for appointments if it simply isn’t respected,

My mother was admitted in Malar hospital on February 2nd .Overall , The hospital was average , cleanliness could be improved, especially the inpatient toilets. But the reason I gave a good review here is because of sister Prabha who was on night duty at the time. I had congenital defective vision. When I approached Dr. Radhi Malar, my eye power was -13/-7.5 with early stages of cataract. The doctor advised immediate laser surgery with implanting of lenses that would make me go glassless. The surgery went like a breeze, and now I use glasses only for reading.
