Hands down the best hotel stay I’ve had in my 32 years of age. Everything was top notch from the warmth, competency, and hospitality of every staff member we interacted with to the stunning grounds and facilities of the hotel itself. The perfect spot to celebrate our honeymoon. Toto, Tun, and Jame in particular made our stay unforgettable. We hope to be back to Chiang Mai and 137 Pillars again someday.

I came here for a Michelin Plate course dinner at NY eve. I must confess that the food did not impress me much. It was a fairly good dinner. Bei The hotel seems amazing. A good pick for our next stay in CM.

We didn't stay, but spent happy hour (5-7pm) at Jack Bain's bar. Serd's service was excellent and attentive. Cocktails were great. We also had the chef's tasting course at Pillars restaurant. Again, excellent service. The grounds are bar/restaurant are beautiful. Highly recommended (especially happy hour for great value).

Palette Restaurant: Tradition and modernity! Visited on 8 November 2020. You should come here even if you are not a hotel guest. In the centre of the extensive complex is the 150-year-old, huge teak house on supposedly 137 pillars. It houses the small, fine Palette Restaurant, and - not to be missed - the Parlour Lounge for the aperitif and the Jack Bains Bar for the digestive. The restaurant serves perfect Thai-French fusion cuisine in an incredibly charming atmosphere. All this has class, just like in famous traditional luxury hotels. Coupled with culinary delights, this is an attraction you will never forget.

We came here as part of a tour, so the meal was paid for in advance. We didn’t get to choose what we ate, instead we had a sampling of many items. It was all delicious. I had never tried many of these items before, and I was very pleasantly surprised! My favorite was the red curry dish. The place itself was very beautiful and the waiter was very professional and the ambience was peaceful and soothing. It is for sure a very high class place to eat. The only thing that bothered me about this place was how overly expensive the drinks were. As I mentioned, our meal was prepaid, so the only thing we had to pay for was the drinks. Between me and my husband, we got two water bottles and one Coke. For those three drink items, we paid $24 (over 700 THB), which is more than we paid for any whole meal at any other restaurant in all of Thailand. So tourists, be wary. We didn’t know how expensive the water and coke was until it was too late.

This hotel is really special. The service is friendly and top notch, the rooms are done beautifully with outdoor showers and a villa feel and the food and drinks are superb. Special shout out to Toto, who helped us with reservations and a place to shower before our return flight. Highly recommend this hotel for a memorable stay.

It was a joy to stay at this hotel. The staff, the grounds, the room, the on-site bar, the pool, the location were all tremendous. The hotel is amazing, and the staff - from the concierge, restaurant, pool, grounds keepers, housekeeping - made the experience truly remarkable. I am from NYC and the Thai hospitality and warmth at this hotel really stood out to me. If there was anything we needed, they were there for us. I highly highly recommend. For whatever it’s worth - we were choosing between the Four Seasons and 137. After visiting Chiang Mai at this location I can’t even imagine how annoying it would’ve been to be at FS. It’s so far out of the way and would’ve made eating street food and interacting with the city and the culture such a drag. The FS is larger and can accommodate high end, large, organized tour groups (Kensington, Abercrombie, etc) which is why it exists and succeeds but for just a couple or a small family… imho… there’s no reason to be there.

This hotel is a warm embrace of Thai hospitality. Great service, kindness, and thoughtfulness. The beds are the best I have had on my trip. The feather pillows are amazing. There is an outdoor shower that is thoughtfully sealed from the outside with midge incense included in the turn down service. The rooms are kitted out well with insect repellant as well. The bar is true throw back. Well over a hundred years old, you feel welcome as you sip a Vesper Martini and review your travel plans. I loved it and you will too. Truly special.

We didnt stay just had a couple drinks at bar in the late afternoon. I can say, it’s very good place to stay relax. I oder gin&tonic and tangerine fizz, nice ones. Atmosphere is so good. Quiet, relax and private. We enjoy so much. Will go back for sure.

Not sure how they got Michelin plate. Even the normal cream sauce pasta and pizza taste worse than ever. The meal was disappointing. Service was so so.. We would not go back to nor recommend the place to friends. There are plenty of better restaurants in Chiangmai which offer great food with reasonable price.

Far and away, 137 Pillars was our favorite hotel of our Thailand trip for multiple reasons. The room decor and the small, meaningful details (nightly treats and bedtime stories, personal butler, comfy robes and ultra plush towels, etc) really made our room feel like home. Not to mention the design of the room was stunning with no small comfort missing. We didn’t want to leave! At night we enjoyed cocktails at the bar and dinner in the restaurant. The ambiance with live piano and beautifully presented food and cocktails made for a perfect evening. Above all else, we were impressed by the expert-level service. Anne, the general manager, was very attentive and clearly cared about every detail of our trip by checking in with us and getting to know us. At one point I even saw her tending to a cat from a neighboring property, and I loved that she partners the hotel with Elephant Nature Park. This is a world-renowned sanctuary I have been following for a long time and was so happy to see the hotel allows you to donate to their rescue work directly. I would recommend this hotel as the top place to stay in Chiang Mai. We hope to be back soon!

Booked to stay for 2 nights but an accident injured my knee and decided to stay one more night, best decision ever. Though I was largely immobile and confined to the room, the experience was most enjoyable to say the least. The room was spacious and very tastefully appointed. Quality finishes and decors. The grounds look most charming and calming looking from the large balcony. Food is superb and of quality cooking and ingredients. Pomelo salad my favourite. Service is nearly impeccable, signature of Northern Thai hospitality. Been to chiang mai many times and stayed in many hotels. This is my top favourite, though slightly more pricey. Highly recommended.

The room, service and facilities are very nice and excellent. But you need to improve the quality of breakfast, worse than 4 stars hotel.

Nice colonial vibe with a nice bar, and as a history lover it’s nice to drink your drinks and go back in time. Food is ok but could be a lot better. The Siamese style is quite nice with long hanging curtains with grass coming down for the walls makes this an impressive architectural landmark.

A gorgeous space! We came here for a pre-dinner drink and had zero regrets. Lovely understated service, delicious martinis and bar snacks. It’s definitely pricier than the average bar in CM but it’s to be expected of a fancy hotel bar. Would definitely come back and looking forward to staying at this hotel in the future!

Beautiful boutique style hotel located close to the Ping River which has a rich history in the city, the main house on the premises which is the source of the name of this property has an absolutely fascinating story attached to it. The rooms are spacious and have a real colonial charm to them.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Way more fun than staying at a typical Hyatt. Super cool and different decor. Outstanding location. Very accommodating and helpful staff. Can't wait to return!

What a setting! The historic Pillar House sets the mood. Old world charm in lush surroundings. Our room was on the small side and a bit tight for walking around the bed, but the amenities were all there including wonderful bedside plug ins, great reading lamps, bedtime stories, music, coffee, you name it, we had it! I highly recommend this hotel. It is expensive by Thai standards, but it delivers. One star off for room size, but keep in mind that the generous sized veranda added a lot space and the bathroom was luxurious in every way! The Thai staff so gracious. I'd go back for sure! Loved it!

Greenery modern with stylist room & swimming pool in the mid of Chiangmai city. The pool is really great (without lot of guests) & perfect for your chic photo. The room is gorgeous with larger bathroom space with European bath tub. Staffs are attentive. You can spend time at hotel for spa, dinner & relaxation. Breakfast is just alright but with western & Asian choices. Parking is available but maybe you need to call & check during long weekends.

Most pleasant hotel, we have stayed so far (for this Chiangmai trip). Absolutely blown away by the service levels and attention to detail. From checkin to turn down services. Friendly and helpful staffs. Tried Thai food at the Dining Room, food was amazing. I’m totally obsessed with goong dishes especially goong luang kua khao mao. Gang hang lay lamb shank was amazing too! Don’t forget to order yum som o with soft shell crab.
