Our 15 year old son had found The Dearborn restaurant online. We agreed to try it out and were very happy with the food and service. I had the Steak & Fries, my wife had the Fish & Chips and our son had the Dearborn Burger. If a lot of pink is a concern don't ask for medium rare. Both the steak & the burger were ordered as medium rare and both had a lot of pink. Neither of us were concerned and we ate each fully. The service was top notch, attentive, friendly and helpful. Their own gin is great as well! We did experience an incident at our table. A guy came in while we were eating and sat at the open spot next to our son. He started saying can I ask you about your food but then started asking for money. He was not dressed poorly or disheveled and I noticed his ear buds. The staff was on it quickly but it did get heated. Police were called but we were not too inconvenienced and the staff was very apologetic. Apparently this guy has done this before. Makes you wonder how bad it could have gotten but I'm thankful it was just an interesting story.

The atmosphere here was AWESOME. The fish n chips are a must order here. The cod was soft and fresh as if it’s melting in your mouth. I love it. The creamy cabbage aside was crispy but not too creamy which was really impressive they didn’t over seasoning. As for the fries, they really did a good job, right amount of salt and not greasy at all. Definitely a 5 star. 👍👍👍

The fish and chips were definitely the highlight paired with the Japanese curry. The meze plate was also a great appetizer. The burger Wellington and the Midwest fried chicken were average. Chicken was a little dry and the sauces weren't memorable. Brussels sprouts were good but a bit bitter. Service could have been more attentive as there were long stretches of time where our server wasn't around. Overall pretty average for the price and location.

Okay, so yes the prices are expensive but being in Chicago it’s very standard. We came here to celebrate a special occasion. They gave us free champagne. Service was superb. The whole restaurant looked classy. I recommend setting up a reservation just in case. We ordered the Midwest fried chicken and the Dearborn burger. The fried chicken was crispy, flavorful from the buttermilk and maple/mustard glaze, and a slight heat from the hot sauce. You have to try it at least once. The burger was easily one of my favorites and I had a lot of burgers. I ordered it medium rare so the meat just melted into my mouth. Meat was great quality. The Wisconsin cheddar and the special sauce increased the overall delish scale.

Anniversary was the occasion for brunch. It exceeded my expectations!(Make sure to get a reservation!) For drinks we just had some strawberry lemonade as we had to drive later We got a basic starter of the prosciutto potatoe balls. They. were. mouth. watering. Can't stress it enough for a starter. For main course we got the pepperoni pizza and it was good.... but what sets it apart from other pizzas you might be asking? The house ranch. Asking for it to use as a dipping sauce was the right move. I will suggest that. It makes me want to go back again!! The final part, they gave us a card for our anniversary and a nice little desert. :)

If you're in the mood for great food and drink and have a few bucks to burn, The Dearborn is absolutely great. The service was fast and friendly. The vibe inside is really cool, though a bit cramped if you're a table of 2. The steak, fries, short rib and creme brulee were all top notch. The drinks were good and strong as well. Definitely recommend a reservation as we would've had a very long wait without one.

A great local restaurant that is close to regional Broadway theatres. The drinks are spot on, and the food is delicious—plenty of room at the main bar. Follow and view my profile for images.

Delicious food and a great ambiance. The service was extremely quick and attentive. My group was extremely pleased with the food and the presentation. I highly recommend the buffalo chicken burger which I got without the slaw but it was still fantastic. I’m usually not a fan of thin fries, but with their seasoning, it was delicious. Great, cozy, American classic restaurant and I highly recommend. It’s especially great before a visit to the bean and a walk along the river.

Came in for lunch and Olivia was our server. She was very attentive and informative about everything. The place was extremely clean and nicely decorated with a cozy feel. The food was outstanding! We got fried chicken and fish n chips! As we were leaving we asked for good dessert spot for after a show we were headed to later on. She said they have the best desserts and to come back later. That we did. Highly recommend this place! Twice in one day and I would do it again……

We had scotch eggs, and at the waiters' recommendation - the fried chicken. Very tasty, almost like chicken and candied crispy skin. The only complaint would be the staff trying to oversell the food or how much they talk about locally sourced/farm ingredients. I get it, the food is quality, but don't keep interrupting my meal to tell me about the eggs etc.

We live upstairs and walked passed it many times, so we decided to try it out. The soft crab salad is a little too salty for me, but everything else was amazing! I love the fish and chips, the fish is soft and juicy and the crust is crispy. The portion is really big can definitely be shared. Service was great and the vibe is nice we would definitely come back!

Old school Chicago restaurant with a large selection of American food and great cocktail options served by workers in classic Chicago style. We came for lunch and it was packed, so I'd recommend making a reservation vs walking in. The buffalo chicken sandwich and the BLT were amazing, the portions and side of fries were huge and one easily would feed two people. They also have good bourbon drinks, bartenders are not rookies by any means. Coming for brunch or dinner are both great as the menu fits either need, can't wait to come back for the burger. At least 10 came out of the kitchen as we were there.

Came for lunch, got seated right away in the bar area and really enjoyed our experience. Our server, Ting, was very attentive, and we ordered the everything Parkerhouse rolls, and the beat Bobby Flay fish and chips. Both of them came out piping hot and fresh. They make the rolls to order and Really are perfection!

The good. Burger was fantastic, although a bit on the rare side of the requested medium. Fries were among the best I've ever had, perfect texture, firm on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. The liquor menu (scotch) was good. My one gripe is where the server sat me. I was dining alone, in town on business. The restaurant was maybe 1/2 full. She sat me in a long line of 2 person tables - the kind of tables with a large couch like bench on one side and chairs on the other. This had approx. ten 2 person tables. She sat me between two other couples (3 occupied, rather tight tables in a row, then 6-7 empty tables on the other side). She put the menu down, and rather quickly left without even checking if this seating was okay. It was tight and awkward, and really detracted from the cool atmosphere to be sardined in between 2 talkative couples, as a solo who just wanted a quiet meal out (especially with so many open seats that would have been better). Otherwise it would have been a 5.

The food, the drinks, the service, the ambiance...all fantastic! It was just a short walk from our hotel at Cambria so we decided to give it a try. For my entree I ordered the Dearborn Burger and it was so delicious. I ended up eating the whole thing and paid for it big time later but it was so delicious. They charged $5 to add bacon and $2 to add onions which was pricey! Now the drinks were good as well. I really liked the peaches, peaches, peaches cocktail & their take on the Bramble was fine. It was my birthday and they did a complimentary dessert with a candle. Our server was very attentive and funny. Great experience. Oh, also...we made reservations for 7:30pm or somewhere around that but arrived 30 minutes before. We were seated right away. I would still make a reservation just for times sake but it seems that if you walk in with a small party, you can get seated pretty quickly.

The Dearborn is best for its location and opening hours. It's open later than most other Loop restaurants and is great if you're seeing a show downtown. It is pretty expensive though, so keep that in mind. The food is good and the waitstaff is very kind. I really enjoyed the Parker House rolls and the pizza was yummy. Brussel sprouts were just okay. I don't think all the food is quite worth the price, but again good for being downtown at night.

The service was really great! Our waitress was so kind and attentive. We tried the fish and chips and they did not disappoint. The breading was so light, yet crisp. And it was a huge portion overall, which made it easy to split for a lighter lunch. They have pretty extensive options for drinks, which is great if you’re traveling. Plenty of food options too. Of course, it’s a bit pricy, but that is to be expected in the area.

The best Fish 'n Chips I've had on this side of the Atlantic. The atmosphere, service, speed, and quality of this venue is top notch. Had an excellent lunch here while visiting from NYC and will be sure to come back in the future.

Amazing restaurant. I travel for food and try to look for awesome food spots. Despite the price range, Dearborn definitely gave us an amazing food experience . The appetizers and the desserts were AMAZING. However the main course.... felt lacking . We tried salmon, skirt steak and the duck.

The Dearborn has an inviting atmosphere, I really enjoyed my experience having lunch with a friend. We sat in the outdoor seating area on a nice day. The staff was welcoming and assisted us kindly and expertly. We ordered Shrimp and Grits and Oysters as appetizers, both were PHENOMENAL but the Oysters really impressed me. The presentation was artistry and the flavors were unique and citrus. The shrimp and grits were seasoned so well it tasted like someone’s grandmother was back in the kitchen. For the main course I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich and my friend ordered the duck. The duck dish looked wonderful and my friend enjoyed it but I was not too impressed by the chicken sandwich. With so many places mastering the chicken sandwich, it is difficult to say that this one was memorable. It was tasty, but not something I would order again. Overall, the experience was very good and I would patron this place again.

First time coming here. Came upon it by accident. Was staying in the area and I'm glad I did. Service and atmosphere were awesome. Love the ambiance of the restaurant. Order the Midwest Fried Chicken as an appetizer. The way they fry it and almost fuse in the syrup is breath taking. Absolutely amazing dish! Main course was the protein bowel with blackened salmon. That mixed with the egg avocado 🥑 and quinoa was perfect. The portion size was good and the salon cooked perfectly. 🍳 their herb-yougurt dressing was also delicious 😋. Had coffee ☕️ with the meal and it was also brewed fresh and rich in taste. Reallt good but ended it with dessert 🍨 🥧 the BEIGNETS. YOU MUST GET THESE! JUST GET THEM AND SEE... Definitely coming back.

The Fish 'n Chips were truly excellent. They're currently running three Hamilton themed cocktails on the menu since the shoe is running in the theater just down the street; tried the Angelica's Kiss and it blew me away. Our server was Whitney and she checked in on us quickly and consistently. Will def go back here.

The experience was okay. But in all honesty, the price, taste, and amount of food we got was not worth it. I love Mac n Cheese and theirs was easily my least favorite Mac I've ever had. Our server hadn't really come to check on us at all during our dinner. I wouldn't come back here.

Everything is DEFINITELY worth it! The Ambiance, The Staff’s “Cooper, Greg & Michael” just to name a few we’ve encountered thus far, the food, the prices. Clean & Tidy Dining Area & Bathroom! Y’all can try the creamy mashed potatoes—it’s to die for! It goes well with anything 🙂

We have been here several times and the food is usually very good and the service is good. At brunch, the chicken salad sandwich on the croissant was excellent. The one cocktail we tried was a little too tart however. We would recommend this place!

Not so bad! Their very classic burger was really juicy. Not a special restaurant but a good place to go if you need something decent for your meal at the middle of downtown Chicago. 3.5 stars.

The first time I have eaten at this restaurant and I need to add it to my Chicago restaurant rotation. Cocktails were well crafted and delicious. The salmon was fantastic, the Brunch pizza had an amazing crust. Service was excellent and unobtrusive. Also met one of the owners (Clodagh Lawless) and she was as warm and welcoming as the restaurant itself.

First time here with my husband and we loved it! The fish and chips was the dish of the night for me, the drinks were amazing despite of being non alcoholic! The ambiance was very pleasant also! Our waitress was very sweet, plus informative! The general manager Greg was pleasant, kind and very welcoming! Will be coming back!

Was traveling in Chicago and looking for Dinner and stumbled upon this place. I'm so glad I did. The ambience is beautiful. The service was super friendly and helpful. I loved my Mocktails. The food was amazing. I want to eat more! Places don't often get 5 stars but this place was worth it.

This place is spectacular! Very neat atmosphere, extremely personable waiter who clearly loved his job, the food was all two or three notches above, and the service was speedy in spite of being busy. They have their act together, which they need to, being a popular destination in the heart of Chicago. We were here just for dessert, but their entrées appeared to be delicious as well. Highest recommendations.

This place is dark inside and has a kind of upscale vibe. I got the gnocchi special as well as the mezze appetizer. Both were good, but I was disappointed in the gnocchi dish for how few gnocchi there were - it was mostly vegetables. I left a unsatisfied for ~$50 per person (post tip) where we just got two drinks, an appetizer, and one dish. I really liked my server, though! But, if I visited Chicago again I would try somewhere else for sure.

Love the ambiance at The Dearborn! Our server John was wonderful and knew his way around the menu. The Drinks, Apps, and entrees were all delicious though I could hardly make a dent in my burger. This is the spot if your looking for a rich meal. A great date night spot.

Great place to get a late dinner and drinks with friends. Service was amazing, and Melissa was really helpful with answering questions and addressing any concerns we had. Food was great but the desserts were AMAZING - so glad I got to try them.

This is an American tavern with a wide range of food. Really unique appetizers! We loved the Duck Rillette with toast the most! The burger and the traditional Icelandic cod were delicious, but not exceptional. The non-alcoholic drinks were bit too sweet. The apricot sorbet was good, but it was too much for us to finish after the sizable meal. In my opinion, the price is reasonable. Service can be a little faster. Overall positive!

WOW. The food here was amazing! Food: EXCELLENT. We had the signature burger and the Shrimp and Grit. And I was so surprised because I wasn't sure such a trendy place could serve great food. And I was wrong. Drinks: GOOD. We only had sparkling wines for brunch. Service: EXCELLENT. Our waitress was very friendly and professional. We enjoyed our time here very much. Overall: YES. I would come back.

Have been meaning to eat here for some time. I'm glad we were able to finally cross it off the restaurant list. Visited during the week for 1p lunch. Great atmosphere... we were seated within minutes. Service was attentive. For it to have been a full house during the lunch rush, the food came out really quick. The drink was good and hit the spot, turn it to happy hour really quick. The food was literally finger licking good. We are adding this to places to visit.

Went here to celebrate friends birthdays and we had such an amazing experience. From the food, to the drinks, and the exceptional service given by all the staff. From the beginning to the end we felt very welcomed and not to mention, the food was very tasty and filling. Bar and atmosphere all around was very nice as well. Thank you

Absolutely amazing food and drinks with a nice heavy pour! The burrata and the prosciutto & fried egg pizza are must trys! The wait for the dining room was long so we sat at the bar but I feel like we got the best seat in the house....high top table in front of the big open patio with a great view of the street. The bar area in general has great seating, so just pop over if the wait is too long!

We had a lovely time celebrating my teenager’s birthday. I called ahead to reserve a table of 5, and was warmly and swiftly taken care of. The food was delicious, the ambient laid back yet fancy, the server (Angelo) was efficient, kind, and friendly, and finally, in the end Amy, one of the owners came to congratulate my daughter and thank us. A kind touch! I highly recommend this location.

Great service, great food, great ambiance! What more can I say? Tried the bone marrow for the first time was so delicious as well as the fish ceviche, melt in your mouth! The burger Wellington was something I’d never tried before (only ever had beef Wellington) but it was so delicious! The peaches peaches peaches cocktail was amazing! The ‘how do you like them apples’ cocktail was just ok. All in all fantastic date night out! I’d come again!

  • 4/5 Jerry’s A. 8 months ago on Google
Great brunch location with fast service and quality food. Wagyu sandwich was delicious, tender beef, and solid seasoning. Brussels sprouts, however, were bit oily due to excess oil and choice of cheese, I would not recommend if you seek something light for your side dish. Macaroni and cheese was on point with balanced seasoning and with good textures. Chicken wings were a great appetizer. It’s slightly on the sweet side but the hot sauce makes the flavor perfectly balanced. Super crispy shell and tender, fall-of-the-bone meat were the highlights. Our server was attentive.

The ambiance, the food, the staff, and everything about this restaurant were not disappointing. This is my first real rodeo in the Chicago area, and I must say that this restaurant made my day. I was starting to feel tired and bummed out about being in a new location, tired, hungry, and not knowing where to go. However, upon arriving at this restaurant without any reservation, they were full and didn't have room for walk-ins, but the most impressive thing happened. The hostesses were incredible. Kelly was very understanding with Grace and Veronica; these three ladies made my day by just being exceptional at their job, “hospitality.” They made room for me, gave me a table, and changed the entire course of my experience here in Chicago. Just because of those three ladies, I would be back, and I will most definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. The food was delicious, and the cocktails were crafted in-house, also delicious; the wait staff was friendly and professional. My experience here was what I hoped it would be and more. Thank you for the exceptional service and experience. I look forward to coming back!

This was a very cute restaurant. My party was seated right away, and our server took care of us and was attentive. The Dearborn burger was recommended and we were not disappointed! With the added caramelized onions it was the best. We replaced the fries with truffle fries which made a great addition. We had the seafood ceviche and it was surprisingly really good! I just wish there were more chips to cover the amount provided. Overall we had a nice dining experience.
