First time coming in along with my family and we all had a terrific experience. There was a good variety of choices and we were very happy to have vegetarian options- which were all very tasty and had a great presentation. The service was awesome. Lucy, our server, and her sister, went above and beyond and surprised us at the end of the meal with three delicious desserts. Thank you for taking such great care of us, definitely will be back!

The atmosphere in this place is special! The staff is all very friendly and true professionals this place stands out in presentation and the amazing plates. I'm truly upset with myself about not making it a point to visit more often!! Update: Everything has always been amazing I don't think I've ever had any issues with the food or service here after multiple visits. If you're wondering how authentic the food is just imagine a friend invited you to Grandma's for dinner it's AMAZING!! Stick around for dessert you won't be disappointed!

I stopped by here to try some Mexican food, and it looked nice with the pictures. Since the day was nice, the outdoor seating was the correct choice. Right away, the lady server came and gave us plenty of information about the menu, including the specials. She was very knowledgeable about everything. The horchata water was good and sweet. The tampiqueña plate was okay; the meat could have been chosen better. As for the enchiladas, the cheese were too salty, and the chicken were better. I wanted to try the flan, but perhaps next time.

Yum! Food is excellent. Prepared to order, comes out hot, and it’s clearly not your typical Mexican food - it’s a notch above. The chicken flautas were crispy on the outside, juicy and soft on the inside. Paired with beans, rice, and cabbage salad, my entree was excellent. The staff could not have been nicer. All smiles, and they are excited to share with you details about the menu. Restaurant is vibrant, prices are affordable, and the outdoor patio was perfect to enjoy the beautiful Chicago weather. A can’t miss! You’ll love this place.

This place is dope. My mom found this restaurant because she has celiac and needs to eat gluten free food. It can be very difficult to trust new (to us) or any restaurants because whenever she consumes gluten she will get incredibly sick. But she loves this place and I do too. We've ordred from here togo and dined in at the restaurant. It is always good- flavorful, fast and the staff so nice. It is a really wonderful restaurant. A little pricey, but worth it for my mom to feel safe out to eat. The horchata is delicious. They are byob but also have margarita mix available. The restaurant is fairly small- so there are not many tables and is very clean. I like their bbq ribs and the esquite (side of corn and peppers) that comes with it is amazing. Ribs are SO tender and falling off the bone. And the taquitos are my mom's favorite. 😆 We had the queso fundido recently and that was delicious as well. They have both corn and flour tortillas (only the corn are gf, obviously). Both are very good! My mom has tried a lot of the menu and there are only a few items that she can't eat (since they are made with gluten). But the staff is knowledgeable about their menu and will double check to make sure what she orders is gluten free. Everything that I've had here has been really good. And I'm glad that my mom found a really good restaurant that she can trust with her allergy. I really enjoyed the tampiqueña the first time we ordered from here (togo). I'm excited to try more.

Went in here for the first time on a Sunday for dinner. The waitress was great and friendly. Explained specials well. Very attentive. Chips and salsa came with the menus. We ordered the guacamole which was good. I had the chile rellenos and chocolate flan for dessert. They were both really good. It was crowded but nobody seemed to have to wait very long for a table. A large party of 6 probably waited about 5-10 minutes. I will definitely be back!

We tried this place for brunch and we loved it! The brunch items were interesting, creative, and tasty. The service was so pleasant and attentive. We tried Huevos XO, avocado toast, and my girl had the pancakes with Nutella. The food was flavorful and thoughtful, it really felt like an elevated Mexican food in a very unassuming place. Can’t wait to go back for dinner!

XOXO delicioso! 5/5 for big portions, flavor, and presentation. We got the taquitos, XOchi salad, and carne asada medium. Very generous portions and lots of flavor. 5/5 for service. The staff are the kindest, hard-working, and attentive. Love it and coming back soon. Thank you!

Wonderful experience. The staff sat us right away, took our order and food came within 20 minutes. The portions were generous and the flavor was all there. Everything on the menu looks delicious and as a Mexican I can attest for it's authenticity and quality. Update! Came back for more and the mile enchiladas were delicious. Everything was of high quality and delicious. The flan de coco was yummy! Don't sleep on their desserts.

Not sure how we are just getting here. Came out on a Wednesday night. Cute little patio. Staff could not be more welcoming. Super chill. Great flavor on tortilla soup. Salsa was tasty. The shrimp in the fajitas were some of the best prepared perfectly flavored and cooked shrimp we have had in any dish. My chicken mole was very tasty, nice spice, and the plantains were out of this world. Discount if you pay in cash. Great neighborhood spot.

Delicious and great service! The quality of their dishes is excellent and the sauces are the absolute best! The fact that it is BYOB and they offer homemade marg mix was a great surprise. We will be back soon!

Last night, we embarked on a culinary journey right here in the heart of Ravenswood! Our destination? XOchimilco Mexican Restaurant, where authenticity meets innovation, taking us straight to the heart of Mexico without ever leaving our beloved Chicago! The meats were beyond exceptional. Each bite was a testament to their skill and dedication - tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. We're talking melt-in-your-mouth, make-you-close-your-eyes kind of good. XOchimilco has truly mastered the art of keeping meats moist and tender, a feat that is not easily accomplished. But the true star of the evening was the flavor. The complexity and boldness of the flavors at XOchimilco transported us to the bustling streets of Mexico City. Each bite was an explosion of taste, a rich tapestry of tradition and boldness, a dance of sweet, salty, spicy, and savory that had us reaching for more. We opted for the "Surf and Turf" special and oh boy, did it deliver! It's a winner in my books - a sublime blend of sea and land, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. It's the type of dish that's not only good to the last bite but also keeps you talking about it long after your meal. The atmosphere at XOchimilco was just as inviting as the food. Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Ravenswood, it's the perfect place to enjoy a lovely afternoon or evening. Bring some friends, share some laughs, create some memories. And if you're in the mood for a little tipple, don't forget to bring your favorite bottle of booze to complement the meal. So here's my advice: Don't walk, RUN to XOchimilco Mexican Restaurant. It's not just a meal, it's an experience, one that will leave you yearning for more. Bon appétit! #FoodReview #Foodie #InstaFood #EatLocal #MexicanCuisine #SurfAndTurf #Delicious #ChicagoFoodie #RavenswoodEats #LocalLoveChicago #ChicagoEats #XOchimilcoReview

Highly recommend! Creative and delicious neighborhood Mexican restaurant with specials. BYOB - they have margarita mixers etc. on the menu. Popular spot, for good reason. Gets busy!

Such a great experience! Started with Panuchos and Ceviche as appetizers. Sooo good!!!! Highly recommend Tampiqueña! They use a home made Mole sauce for enchilada... amazing!. It is BYOB and they were very accommodating. Paula made us feel welcomed and was very professional! Great food! Great Service! Great Ambience!

Came here with a big party for a birthday celebration. The staff was on top of everything for a party of this size. The atmosphere was great for a simple sit down restaurant. Being BYOB made for a good collection of everyone bringing something to taste. We had the ceviche as an appetizer and I can confirm that it was a very delicious starting point. The Tampiqueña, medium rare skirt steak, with a mole enchilada made for a great meal. For dessert, we tried the tres leches cake. Well around I enjoyed the food and the company if friends. I'll be coming back to try out other dishes soon

Wow! This was so good! Food was delicious, service incredible. We had the special, which was a poblano pepper stuffed with scallop, crab meat, and shrimp. We also had Camarones a la Veracruzana. Don’t forget the dessert! Lava cake was awesome! Will definitely come back next time we are in the area!
